Ligno

As someone mentioned earlier, yeah...this is how the color Black is supposed to smell. Brilliant description @alternateu As i have 4 bottles of passion for Antaeus Chanel, Ligno is something almost identical, for me, like Antaeus on some ambroxan steroids, suptile ones though,leather, wood, patchouly, almost the strongest labdanum with musky, almost leathery ambergris and some extra fruit, even might be a clary sage bloom. Blissful blend of castoreum, labdanum and sensitive patchouly, amber, that is all present and calming. The smell of luxury screams time from time, in the meantime the dark swamp of castoreum leather marinated in finest Labdanum flowers and resins. That fruit might easily be the flower yet, but it lightens up the composition. I guess it's orris and ambroxan giving people that pffff or woow effect at a first sniff aside from castoreum, leathery lovers, that percieve this gem as an extreme clean barbershop with luxurious and expensive aftertaste...Tried the whole box, the whole collection, this and Ambra are must haves. projection might be intimate, compared to beasts and glues we are wearing today, but my nose can still catch it tomorrow afternoon. It's not screaming but it's bloody there and still asking. I have about 1300 bottles, decants, samples...and i quitted..year and 2 months without new scent. And then i smelled Ligno. The rest is history :) Amazing smell and quality. 10 of 10 and i rarely go so

I bought it only smelling the opening, thats how much i liked it. The opening is somehow boozy and earthy, all held together by a thick manly patchouli. The drydown gets a bit more woody and dark and is still amazing. All of it is aired out with some sort of citrusy note (im guessing the bergamot), it all goes together amazingly. Last a long time especially on clothes. It projects decently for a couple of hours and it tones down after a while. Definitively manly, signture worthy for the right person. I feel like someone who likes fragrances like Antaeus will love this, although this is lighter on the castoreum note. Not a blind buy though as its very polarizing, some might like it on them some not. But everyone can appriciate how good it is.

As evidenced by the low rating and the praise below, Ligno is a polarizing fragrance. This is the last sample from my Jeroboam discovery set, and I’m in the thumbs up camp. I can’t think of another patchouli dominant fragrance that remotely resembles Ligno. Underneath all the earthy, natural notes is an overall creaminess. Ligno has a thick, gooey texture due to the top shelf, quality ingredients, most notably the orris. Thankfully ambroxan— usually a nemesis—is expertly mixed and does not overpower the composition. A beautiful, delicious take on patchouli with an unusual list of supporting notes. And finally an extrait that behaves like an extrait. Apparently I saved the best for last.

It is such a beast! ANIMALIC SMELL and ambergis are very prominent. Patchouli and pine are very balanced around + a light sweet hint for buttery orris. I have never met this ANIMAL smell before, it seems in line with Miksado Jeroboam but a little more furry. It is not nasty it is mysterious, intriguing, and kinky! I like it. it is like a werewolf that is chasing you in a forest to sexually assault you - it could smell like this, yes LOL

This is now my most complimented Fragrance this Fall and winter. After 10-12 hours still I smell it. Every person I met in the hallway always said. You smell good..what is it?! One more thing..try to layer it with BDK Gris Charnel Extrait just 1 -2 sprays if you don't like the power of Patchouli, BDK will help to give a smooth scent.

If you love patchouli I could easily say it’s a safe blind buy I love it my first from jeraboam and surly not the last fragrance The power on this one is insane projection is unbelievable and so is the longevity it’s an excellent scent for patchouli lovers

the only thing i've smelled that is similar is patchouli noisette. Ligno would be the overpowered extrait version of PN. study bitcoin

I really like this perfume, it stood out to me when I was sampling the Jeroboam range, and I gave in and bought it at second sniff a week later. I’m a bit fussy about patchouli, I either like them really clean as in Chanel’s usual perfume range, or very boozy and chocolate-like. This one falls into the latter. It’s very thick, rich, nutty in the top. Essentially a suede-heavy patchouli. The dry down, unfortunately, doesn’t stay nutty on my skin, but is more animalic and musky. But this is essentially sexy, musky, patchouli for patchouli lovers. For reference, how this smells to me in relation to other more well-known patchoulis: Coromandel by Chanel - coromandel is much more herbaceous and mentholated and green to me. Coromandel smells medicinal and a bit like an indie apothecary, while Ligno to me is a lot richer and darker and smells almost like the colour black would smell. Coromandel is supposed to have a note of white chocolate but I don’t get that at all. Psychedelique by Jovoy - Psychedelique, to me, actually also smells very earthy and herbal, but admixed with this note of cocoa/chocolate - something dark and something green. Ligno, however, is all dark on me. Tempo by Diptyque - tempo is very earthy and soil-like, there’s nothing herbal nor nothing green, it smells truly natural and almost hippie-like in its earthiness. Tempo to me smells like the colour of translucent, lightly brewed rice tea. This seems to be voted more masculine; to me (female), it’s more unisex to very slightly leaning masculine in the drydown. Not work appropriate, seems polarising and a little bit skanky for the non patchouli-lovers. Polarity: unisex to slightly masculine Longevity: good Projection: soft to moderate

I’m not a fan of patchouly but this one balances things out. I’m not a huge fan of LIGNO but it does not smell bad. It reminds me of any one of the mainstream deodorants for men that would have a great longevity. Its not unique, but its worth a try.

Very nice patchouli heavy fragrance but it's way too overly spicy for me. It's woody and has a cinnamon like leathery base. I agree that it's slightly dark and masculine. I agree with one of the reviewers that it's an extremely dry patchouli.

I will spare you the essay. This is a DRY patchouly. It's a love hate thing. I personally like it. Works great as a base layer close to skin because it will stay forever. Then layer other perfumes on top. Good stuff

Absolutely masculine. Classic everyday man in a bottle. Agree that it kinda smells a bit deodarant/Axe body spray like. By no means smells bad.

You would think it would be dirtier, but its pleasant and sweet, reminds me of a Caribbean rum cake. I like it, but I'm a little disappointed.

Yeah, thought I was getting a super patchouli fragrance out of Ligno based on the above notes but they are almost completely wrong here. Correct note stack from the Jeroboam web site: Top: Bergamot, saffron, sage Middle: Ambergris, fir, balsam, rose, cistus Base: Patchouli, tonka bean, musk I did get the bite at the top from the bergamot and sage. As it dried down, quickly became more woody. Didn't really get any rose or any other florals. The patchouli did become more prominent quickly too with a slight muskiness. Fragrance is dark and masculine. Sillage was good for about one and a half hours but the longevity was a disappointment. Could barely detect it on my skin after about 5 hours (nose to skin). Not sure where people are getting super powerful performance out of Ligno, unless it's from spraying clothes which I don't do. Tested from a sample. Overall, liked the scent but will pass because of the poor longevity.

This is testosterone in a bottle. This is 100% manhood liquefied. An absolute smoking patchouli nuclear bomb with a hint of crisp pine mixed with that celery sage. As it settles I get more patchouli & a slight hint of dirty castorium & ambergris. Almost medicinal as it reaches the base notes... definitely getting more of the musk & ambroxan towards the end too. Not a bad fragrance at all just not for me.

This one is a mystery for me. It has many notes that I usually adore in other scents: clary sage, bergamot, labdanum, saffron... but I just don't like it. It smells dirty and sweet in a way I find annoying. Rarely do I see patchouli all the way from top to base. Maybe that is too much for me. Be aware but if you love patchouli maybe you should try...

Dark, somewhat cold damp sensation of feet on old leather sofa in raffish building, that was used once as men changing room...its next to an abandoned indoor pool...you can smell hint of chlorine... Interesting,...not for everyone, stay away from blind buys.

A reminiscence of meetings at neighbors’ or someone’s place — a note that was recognized. Whether it’s sage, saffron, fir balm, tonka, musk, cistus — I don’t know. In any case, Ligno captures that exactly. Besides that, it’s quite well composed.

Smells like a very creamy and less stinky blue cheese.

ژغوبوام لیگنو Ligno فرانسوا بعد از موفقیتش توی برند جووی روی اورد به روایحی بسیار خاص که به نظرم میشه اون رو بین نیش و دیزاینری قرار داد . ابتدا راجب این برند بخوام توضیحی بدم ، برند باکیفیتی هست که کارهاشو در غلظت اکستریت در حجم های 30 میل روانه بازار شده . اکثرا عطرهایی با رایحه ای بسیار خاص رو تولید کردن و با پرفورمنسی بسیار بالا . شاید محبوبترین عطر این لاین از نظر من همین لیگنو باشه . رایحه ای خاص و یونیک که در ابتدا عجیب به نظر میرسه . در حقیقت پایه و اساس این عطر پچولی هست منتهی اینبار ایده جالبی بکار گرفته شده و در چند مرحله پچولی به شکل های جالب خودنمایی میکنه . در ابتدا با مشک و زنبق به صورت پودری خودش رو نشون میده . میگذره و زعفران بهش اضافه میشه و ترکیب زعفران و پچولیش خیلی دلچسب هست برای من . از دور سرجف 1888 یه سلامی میکنه در این مرحله . باز میگذره و با روایح گلی ترکیب میشه و یه حالت بوی بیمارستان مانند شکل میگیره . یک عنصر بسیار خاص رو شامل هست که اعتیاد اور هست و یه حس دوگانگی در شما بوجود میاره به نحوی که متوجه نمیشید این عطر رو میپسندین یا نه و از این عجایب این کار هست . پس تا اینجا برای دوست داران پچولی که دوست دارن جلوه دیگری از پچولی رو حس کنند پیشنهاد میکنم از دستش ندن ! اما وقتی از ظاهر زیبا و عجیب این عطر رد بشیم میشه مقداری به یکه بودن و بولد بودن یک سری نت ها در هر مرحله که بیش از اندازه هست به نظرم ایراد گرفت و جا داشت نتیجه مقداری همگن تر میبود تا بشه ازش چیز پرعمق تری رو برداشت کرد . چندین تکه بسیار زیبا از پازل های مختلف رو در کنار هم چینده و سعی داشته با عمق مشکی که در اون بوجود اورده و تم پوری در کنار زنبق بهش داده ، اونا رو بهم ربط بده ولی نمیشه گفت که موفق نبوده چون نتیجه کار دل نشینه. البته این ایرادی بود که میشه از کار با دقت خیلی زیاد گرفت ولی همچنان خود کار بسیار با کیفیت هست و یونیک بودن و خاص بودن خوبی رو القا میکنه به مصرف کننده و نمیشه بخاطر این ویژگی منفی اون رو کنار گذاشت. اما توصیه میشه چند مدتی بعد از تست بهش زمان بدید چون در تست اولیه ممکنه یه سیلی بزنه بهتون که دور بشین ازش ولی اینطور نیست اصل ماجرا . پرفورمنس بسیار بالایی داره علی الخصوص در رد بو و به نظرم با تیپ اسپورت بهتر میشه اونو پوشید . 30 میل هست و به نظرم بیشتر از 2 پاف نباید اسپری بشه و همون 2 پاف نهایت کفایت میکنه .و بیشترش حس خوبی نمیده . به نظرم میشه در دسته عطرهای یونی سکس قرارش داد منتهی خانم ها اگر قصد استفاده ازش رو دارن به نظرم خیلی کم باید اسپری کنند و اونهم یک ربع قبل از بیرون رفتن . در کل برام جالب و دوست داشتنی بود و قیمت مناسبی هم داره این عطر که میشه بهش فکر کرد . 8/10

Water Almonds sweet woods. It has that watery with almond water, and few woody geranium, some ambergris, pines, ambroxan, bergamot, and doses of orris. At first i thought it's a bubbly but then turned dramatically into woody almond dust. The drydown brings up the dusty almond alive, the ambergris, and the sweet sage. I can't say it's charmy as much as it's sexy! as you can feel as if it's a beautiful body odor (not sweat of course) mingled with a herbal touch and an ambergris mixed with sensual patchouli. I was wrong about this brand before being quite common! as much as i get deep into it's blends i just get surprised more often with what they got to offer. They mostly don't have linear blends, they just change dramatically and settles into something sensual and beautiful, they only need time to settle and honestly it worths the wait. Beautiful blend.

I think it's safe to say that Vanina Muracciole is leading the league in rebounding. It appears that every time her work is in question, she comes back stronger. This is a dirty performer without the posturing. A fragrance that transcends its form and talks to you and meets you where you are with your own insecurities. Lingo is a dark, piece of work that bears both fangs and cordiality with exotic aromas to match. Anytime you see labdanum in the lineup, you already know at minimum, the fragrance will not be wimpy. Soft hints of ambroxan, musk and bergamot decorate what's left of this woody oriental but make no mistake, this is driven by the other heavy lifting notes. This is the anti-romantic scent you had in your scope but never realized. For your personal taste only.

This is a deep, earthy patchouli that feels almost primordial at first, as if you're laying on a damp, moss-covered log in a dark and ancient forest. However, any such associations are quickly overtaken by the sheer sophistication of this blend. The opening is all medicinal patchouli with the dryness of saffron. This initial intensity is cushioned by astringent herbal aromatics and a bit of buttery orris. In the next stage, a gorgeous pine note becomes more prominent. Ambergris radiates heat in the background, creating a refined leather accord that is just a touch animalic. The drydown is calming and resinous, with a warm sheer amber. Ultimately, it's a well-rounded and luxurious patchouli-herbal that leans quite masculine.

This is MAN in a bottle. Like, it's giving me "daddy." On a powerful man over 40, god yes. First thought was Terre d'Hermes. I'm not getting patchouli but the bergamot, pine, ambergris and orris are apparent. I'm not even really getting amber, I wouldn't describe this as an amber forward fragrance at all. Musk is obvious though and becomes the heart of the fragrance after a while. Castoreum is a good addition and giving a little bit of teeth to this. Combined with the musk it is animalic but refined, I wouldn't actually call this dirty. It is something that projects a certain image-- very masculine, older, well groomed, but tattooed and fuckable. I don't know in what universe this could be considered unisex.

Ligno: here I would say in Nomen Omen. A fragrance where a very strong, earthy patchouli dominates and gives woody aspects. You can perceive this strong smell, which I like, but which I understand cannot be appreciated by everyone. Realistic, absolutely worth trying. The animalic notes are really light, the saffron gives more personality and finally, in the drydown, ambergris prevails. To me it feels like entering an old wooden house, impregnated with its smell. Very good, personally it's not the kind of fragrance I would wear.

I was really hoping that the ambroxan, ambergis & castoreum would shine through more but instead i keep getting hit with wave after wave of "mid-tier country club mens locker room aftershave" which is honestly pretty devastating for me. maybe its the bergamot but this just smells waaaaay cheaper and less classy on me than it did on the test strip - really strong cologne vibes, i cant see how this is even unisex :/

This is so dark smelling it’s like the color black. Not a chocolatey or gourmand type of thing, I don’t see how anyones getting that. Right away reminds me of a vintage mens chypre base, very dark and mossy, I guess boozy too. Not what I was expecting from the votes and I love patchouli/ amber. Not much amber here just a very masculine type of patchouli.

The first thing to understand is that this line is not your usual Jovoy in your face, super strong upfront line. Those scents are meant to be worn a bit closer but are super high quality, long lasting, original. Ligno is the best musk patchouli scent i have. Lasts over 20 hours and radiates the whole time. Love it!

This is skilfully constructed. On me its like a chocolate patchouli splashed with alcohol,then comes the woody notes and finally i get the castoreum. Great perfume,great perfumer,give it a try.Sadly it doesn't last longer on my skin,but the the juice is....pfff
