The opening is so great smelling, yes I get the aventus comparison and dna but Vespero opens with this fresh juicy citrus and apple and then it goes leathery, deep, dark, smoky, and smells more complex and very smooth. It's kinda fruity but has these musculine notes of leather and then comes muskiness amber woods. Very impressive and we'll created scent that's matured and well developed for the right individuals. Wish it comes it larger sizes because if I use this like how I use my usual frags, it's gonna go empty real soon. You'll definitely get the quality in this. I may end up carrying this in my bag daily....

I was going to instinctively say that this does not smell like Aventus at all, until I got hit 30 mins down the line by what only reminds me a lot of Aventus' handsomely certified younger brother 'cedrat boise'. That being said, I remain adamant about concurring that this is a smell-alike of Creed Aventus because it just isn't. Seems a conundrum I can't solve or explain away. In truth, it probably steers more toward my Godolphin PDM than it does to Creed Aventus! Undoubtedly, Creed Av is one of the kings of Men's fragrances and I continue to have nothing but love for it. But this isn't about Creed but Vespero Jeroboam, which to me is equally an absolute gem in the men's fragrance world. At the very least, what Vespero has in common with cedrat boise, C/Aventus, PDM Godolphin and the like, is perhaps only a mild DNA trace and semblance of masterful appeal, but in its own right it is unique and could easily become one of my prolonged top 10 stylishly confident Men's Fragrances in my collection. For me, Vespero J is a 10 out of 10, Straightup!

What a hidden beauty. Nobody talks about this gorgeous concoction and I'm surprised. It's probably the best Aventus like fragrance on the market. Not a clone by any means but in the same genre. I basically smell Aventus mixed with Tom Ford Ombre Leather or possibly Tuscan Leather as is already mentioned. Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomad is the only other fragrance that I know that utilizes Aventus DNA with a good Leather note. Just like Ombre Nomad this one is a bigtime sleeper and worth every penny. Not to mention it's only about $100 which is very low for a niche. Performance is well above average too so you are going to get your money's worth. if you've got Aventus, Hacivat, and Terre D'hermes for warm to cool weather then grab this one and Ombre Nomad for the cold and you have the perfect fragrance wardrobe that is not only classy but also dead sexy. Something about the Aventus DNA combined with a good Leather note makes the women go crazy. Highly recommend this one!!

Vespero is beautiful. Starts off with fresh, juicy sweet citrus notes, a la Aventus. The heart is leather accompanied with florals joining with one of the best musky bases I have sniffed in a while. It's a rich Musk blended with patchouli and amber notes and has amazing depth and longevity. Just blends with your natural skin oils and does not let go. Projection is more well behaved in Vespero compared to the other Jeroboam frags I am testing and it's probably got to do with the citrus notes keeping things a bit quiet. It wafts strongly off you but in arms length radius rather than a 6 foot radius like the others which in this case I find is a good thing as it makes this frag more versatile. Longevity likewise is pretty much all day with 3 sprays. In closing I will keep it simple. If you like Aventus and Aventus with a high quality musky base sounds like something that tickles your fancy, get your nose on Vespero. Loving it.

Vespero by Jeroboam left me speechless. I don’t even know where to start with this masterpiece. From the first spray, I knew it was going to end up as my signature scent sooner or later. It has everything I love. A strong citrusy wood accord that just pulls you in. I honestly can’t pinpoint one note that stands out because everything blends so perfectly together. It is harmony in a bottle. I originally only knew Gozo from this brand, but I asked the seller for something unique and he completely shocked me with this one. I couldn’t resist it. From the very first smell, it became an instant addiction. Vespero smells dense and expensive. It is regal, sophisticated, and powerful. The kind of fragrance that makes a lasting impression without even trying. It leaves a uniquely masculine trail that builds over time and just keeps getting better on the skin. This is luxury done right. A true hidden gem.

The opening is indeed like Aventus, but we are talking about a drier, scratchier Aventus rather than something like Montblanc Explorer which is fruitier and easier to wear. However, the important thing to note is that it definitely isn't a one-trick fragrance - leather moves further and further forward, blending incredibly with the aforementioned smell, before eventually taking control and leaving a similar dry-down to Tuscan Leather. Whilst not completely unique at start or finish, the journey the fragrance follows is actually rather different to anything I've tried. Longevity and projection are really solid, though not beastly (on me) as others have said.

If you replace the resin, saffron, and heavy sweetness in TL with cedar, musk and patchouli you get Vespero. This was an instant love for me, since I never liked TL for it's stickiness. What you get here is a smoky leather, a touch of florals, musk, woods, and just the right amount of sweetness to keep things from getting austere. I don't get the Aventus vibe here, it's more similar to TL but a lot darker, more subtle and classier. It sits close to the skin (like all leather should) so don't expect beast mode performance. I'll be getting this once my sample runs out. I just love it.

I find the apple & pink grapefruit opening to be so sour it's nearly breathtaking. Right away the citruses start playing off the leather and musk heavily. There isn't too much else happening for me. Leather can take on a smoky nuance, which is why peoples' olfactory so hastily defaults to Aventus. Ultimately, I find the star player to be the musk. Smoky leather, tart & juicy fruit, some iso e super just beautifully enveloped in sensual musk. At the price point, it's probably feasible for the average consumer to get this.

This is very nice fragrance I first smelled it in 2017 in Barcelona and in my mind it stuck as raspberry fragrance cause I only smelled the bottle and the cap I didn’t spray it. I purchased it after some time. Instead of apples the opening to me feels really clean/candy like berry/citrus type of smell but soon it becomes very masculine so I gifted it to my dad and it’s so gorgeous on him, he still uses it and it’s he’s 3rd bottle I think. I love it but it’s definitely better on men.

Someone in one of my chats asked me about a summer leather fragrance. Vespero came to mind immediately. The easiest way to describe Vespero is it opens like Aventus (older, better batch) and dries down to a woody, smoky leather, lightly floral Aventus with a smoky musky leather dominating in the drydown. Just got my bottle. The opening is indeed identical to Aventus. However, it is louder and less sweeter. Will update regarding performance. But so far - I love it. Definitely recommended to those who like the Aventus DNA But gave up on it due to performance issues. Update: performance is quite solid. I get at least 8 hours. It projects quite strong for 2 hours and then settles. I must point out that I get noseblinded by its intensity.

There are some scents which is undoubtly masculine but on women's skin melts quite gently. Vespero is beautiful, complex scent and I enjoy it - on my skin, on men's skin... There is perfect balance of juicy apples, bitter grapefruits and bold leather. Geranium adds soft flowery note and makes perfume more elegant, sophisticated. Vespero is definitely one of the best colognes, accurate in every way. Suits perfectly.

I don't get the Aventus comparison whatsoever. This is a true masterpiece that blows Aventus away on every level. This is gorgeous with a deep, dark musky amber vibe that i just can't get enough of. This is blended to perfection. My only complaint is I wish they'd make 100ml bottles opposed to these 30ml. Then again, I wouldn't care if they only came in 2ml samples... I'll never be without this gem.

Just finish my Jeroboam discovery set following The Perfume Guy Jeroboam review.... Loved at least 5 perfumes. This one is wonderful. Delicious and very refined juice...😍👍. Got it for 68 euros inmediatly..... Waiting for good deals in the other ones. 😁 Actually loved the bottle and the name. Vespero refers to dusk / twilight; also refers to Venus "the evening star" ...... Cool

I like this. not sure about the Aventus like certainly not to me. The one it's most like would be Argos Bacio Immortale & of course TF Ombre Leather, definitely more the former than the latter as I find TF's a bit too leathery for my taste. there's a high probability that I go FB on this, the 30ml though.

Very interesting and beautiful combination of three bestsellers Aventus, Oud wood and Tuscan leather. And although these three are great this one is excellent too. The quality is very good, but the sillage is week. It feels comfortable, elegant and classy. One of my new favotites.

Fresh floral fruity gentlemen scent. Is it remind me aventus: no !!! It may be in same genre but isn’t like Aventus. It’s more floral and leathery while aventus is more fruity and has smoky vibes. Performance is good. Highly recommended.🌺👌🌺

Smells like a 75/25 mix of Creed Aventus and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. Beautiful fragrance. I'm surprised more people don't talk about this one. It's also very affordable for a niche and performance is insanely good.

This is a hybrid between Aventus and Ombre leather. That citrus-woody & leathery composition is just amazing! I personally enjoy wearing it even though it’s marketed towards men and I get tons of compliments too.

My bottle is 25% oil concentration ie 75% vol. So it has been reformulated from the 30% it first came out with. So that will affect longevity and complexity.

When I smell it on a guy is Amazing Dreamy fresh like Aventus but much much nicer. When I smell it on me I still live it but ok is better on a man

Smells great. The Aventus comp is real. It's a more green, non smokey version of it, which i enjoy quite a bit. Use it just as you would Aventus

Gorgeous, deep, dark, almost amber. Been wearing it regularly for over two years now and love it. Great for reflective and cozy moments.

Vespero hits you, as many of the reviews below have stated, with the very sharp and bitter citrusy opening of sour apples and grapefruit, one that reminded me of my bathroom cleaner. But within a minute, this had mellowed to a warmer, leathery citrus; the grapefruit transforming into a more elegant and aromatic bergamot, the leather really pushing through with the very slightest hint of soft, almost undiscernible, jasmine for the next 30-60 minutes. I do not even realise when this citrus leather fragrance transforms into a sort of chypre on my skin that, contrary to popular comparisons on this site with Creed Aventus, reminds me of Ex Nihilo's French Affair. But where French Affair brings out that dirty cumin note from somewhere (one that I wholly appreciate), Vespero manages to retain its aromatic citrus note, the bitter grapefruit with the balsamic, woody cedar, perhaps. It finally offers you its dry down, a very restrained sweetness with earthy and smoky notes coming from the musk, amber, and patchouli that actually reminds me a lot of Narciso Rodriguez for Him. And this is how it remains for the next 12+ hours. As much as I had believed this style of fragrance to no longer be to my taste, it only makes sense for an entire personal perfume collection of woody, rosy, and oud based scents to be punctuated with something a bit fresh and aromatic. I am so glad I have Vespero to provide some cool relief against those balmy summer nights, or to uplift a grey and gloomy day with its smart and elegant sparkle. Remember, this does not mean that it is a bright and sprightly fragrance; it dries down on my skin to a beautifully smoky, but still sharp, leather.

Honestly, as someone who loves Aventus but hasn’t bought it for years because its current performance is terrible and not worth the price, I’m always drawn to fragrances that resemble it. This one, on the first spray, reminded me of pre-2020 Aventus — masculine, slightly sharp, fruity, and smoky. I really liked it. I haven’t tried Tuscan Leather before, so I can’t comment on that comparison. I assume the similarity comes from the leather note, but here the leather is very much in the background and not dominant at all — which is actually good for me, since I usually don’t like leather-heavy fragrances; they tend to make me feel nauseous. Since I already have Hacivat and Cedrat Boise in my collection, I’m wondering if I really need this one. But I’ll probably end up buying it anyway. The performance is definitely around 10–12 hours, with projection between strong and moderate. People who come close to you will notice your scent throughout the day.

To start, this does not smell like Aventus. I can see why maybe one would compare it due to a few similar notes, and maybe a distant vibe, but no, not Aventus dna. This has a green apple note, and is dark and leathery. I don’t get much citrus, I do get some patchouli and florals but not heavy on those. Overall a pretty nicely made fragrance. Very rich notes. No more than two sprays and probably safe with one, because this one is nuclear. Strong projection, crazy sillage, and lasts more than a day on clothes. This one is nice, but in the end it isn’t my style for now and I’m finding it a new home. I may miss it later but am sticking to less things that I can’t wear easily to work (with the exception of a few, naturally). *note* I picked up a vintage Polo Purple Label. This smells almost identical. The main difference (again) is that this one is NUCLEAR. But a little disappointed that it’s so similar to an existing fragrance.

I ordered a few samples from the Nasomatto line from Twisted Lily. They included a sample of Vespero, I assume because it is also an extrait. The clear vial was an interesting contrast to the darker juice I had ordered. Vespero was bright and crisp in the opening, like a granny smith apple. It makes your eyes pop open, but then the powerful assortment of musks take a hold and reign it in and overtake the composition. Anything with an apple note will elicit Aventus comparisons, but this cuts a hard left after the opening toward something darker, sexier. After wearing out all the samples I ordered, this was the bottle I ended up pulling the trigger on.

Smoky leather, dry woods and musk. Ultra modern likable scent profile initially hides the fact that this is a brutal unapologetic masculine beast of a fragrance. The mouthwatering opening does remind me of Aventus for 45 minutes gradually transitioning to the leather beast that it stays for the next 12 hours. The potent combination of leather and musk stick in your airway making you smell it constantly with each breath, fantastic if like me you love the smell. Projection is solid for at least 4 hours but again im able to smell it all day without issue. Awesome stuff

Fun! Doesn't remind me at all of famous 'similar' perfumes, like Creed Aventus, or Fougere Royale, it's not too strong, it shifts nicely from a yummy sour fougere into just 'classic' fougere that doesn't step into barbershop waters of crushed pine needles in pure alcohol. It smells kind of natural so you don't get the 'masculine perfume' vibe at 100%, maybe some women would even like to wear this.

Very nice woody fragrance. I can see why votes for some of the most popular mens fragrances are in there as it does have a crossover with quite a few of those I can see it...but this is deeper and to my nose, better. Juicy bright apple and citrus at first (just on the edge of harsh), well blended leather later and a sturdy musky woody base. It works well.

Indeed, it does remind me of Aventus, but with an added strong leather note. On MY skin, it's more leather than anything else. I'm not sure why and how others smell a strong patchouli; Hacivat(yuck) is the one with a strong patchouli note. I take Vespero over any of the Aventus-ispired, clones...etc.

rnasim sums it up accurately BUT add in a sweet musk that lingers through out the long life. For the price, this offering is a steal and has replaced my last bottle of Aventus (14K01) as it was no longer working magic on me. Vespero will consistently perform and get you noticed every time. A+

is an Aventus alternative no doubt, but in my skin it has a strong leather facet... which is described in the notes brake down. I really like, It has longevity and projection, thats a plus, but the leather accord makes it less versatil than other Aventus-like scents, but still I like it.

At first sniff i get the aventus vibe. After about a hour on my skin the leather comes through. It is similar to tuscan leather but not as smoky in my opinion. This fragrance as a whole has a good depth/richness to it. The performance is very good on my skin.

Lovely fresh green apple scent, high quailty blend, i think i would never gonna fed up with this! Green apple is not so strong but stays very long. I dont know why woody and leather take up so much place on the notes, they are hard to notice

My experience with modern Aventus batches (limited, but I did wear it a few months ago) were more citrusy and smoky-musky. This is more cleaned up, smooth, and leathery. Not similar to Tuscan Leather. 8.1/10

Like another reviewer, the opening is a stinging citrus. Literally. My arm and wrist are burning where I applied just two short sprays— rarely a good sign. First impression is that it’s a powdery dry leather with some fruit notes. 20 minutes later: the scent has transitioned, I’m smelling less citrus and iso e super (which is used with a heavy hand). My husband in the room next to me yelled over that he likes what I’m wearing. “Really? What do you smell” he said something with smoke in it, which I’m guessing is mostly the leather note. I don’t believe in gendering perfume, if you love it wear it. But this one does feel masculine and I’m sure it would smell divine on the right person. Love pushing the okay button for times like this; it’s not a bad scent. There are obvious synthetics in this composition which is giving the juice legs—but I’m not digging it.

My god—this is so good. I was looking for an apple based fragrance with a unique texture and this does it for me. Starts off with a very bright apple and bergamot and then turns woody/leathery with a noticeable geranium edge in the dry down. The amber here is hardly noticeable which I think is a good thing given the rugged character of this fragrance. 30+ male oriented fragrance best suited for cool weather. I wouldn’t wear this in the heat as it’ll wear badly given the heavy woods used.

Yes, it smells very Tom Ford-ysh leather + a hint of green apple, It is not as outstanding as other Jeroboam. If you have Tom Ford Tuscan leather or ombre leather - you don't really need this one

I'll be brief in that I found Vespero an interesting and well made fragrance but, other than wearing it while sitting around the house, I find it difficult to find an appropriate time to wear this offering. Never mind...I got it, this is a terrific fragrance to wear at the Gentleman's Club while smoking a pipe and sipping cognac or brandy, and chewing the proverbial fat with your fellow club members - all in smoking jackets mind you. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a smoker or drinker and don't have much time to waste on boorish chit-chat with a bunch of dudes can I be spending my time with the ladies. I do occasionally enjoy smoking a stogie, but I would prefer fragrances such as Bois du Portugal, Tuscan Leather, Sweet Tobacco Spirits or several other of my manly-man doing manly-man things fragrances. Still, it's worth checking-out but it's not quite my style. Performance is quite good in that it lasts 10-hours or more on my skin; projection is moderate but it's a heavy scent that leaves of thick scent trail, so your scent will be detected by others. The price is also a factor, but it is a quality fragrance...but their are better ones in this category IMO.

I did not understand the comparison to Aventius until the dry down. That camphoric patchouli really reminded me of the old glory Aventus from 2012-2014. Look, it is a nice fragrance but I am not sure if it's worth the money for general public. I can see how the old batch Aventus crown might like layering it with the modern batch Aventus to get the glimmer of the old stuff in the drydown. It is high quality but all this is it's a patchouli bomb. If you liked the idea of Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather but found it overbearing, this might work as a tamed greener scent that has similar vibe. Overall I like it but only blind buy it with the above in mind. Projection is not great but longevity and silage are excellent.

how on earth people in the comment says no leather detected? i think she has nostril problem. anyway, this perfume is a well blended leather floral amber fragrance. to my nose, the top notes are negligible, its almost to no existence other than giving the sweet vibes. most of the wearing experience is just Sweet Leather. its not the same as Ferragamo intense leather but the scent profile is there. sweet leather. its Potent, long lasting and doesnt need alot of sprays. not for me for sure.

On my warm female skin, I get very heavy vetiver. It really takes over other notes for me. I went to many sites, even Jeroboam, to see if Vetiver was listed. Couldn't find it anywhere UNTIL I came upon Sebastien's YT review, where the very first thing he mentions is vetiver. Aha! Made me not feel crazy that I was smelling it so strongly. It's very earthy and watery-weedy smelling to me, so I'm out.
