Jessica McClintock

I have always wanted to experience this vintage 1988 white floral perfume. I bought it blindly from my local Walgreens, which sells a lot of quality fragrances both vintage and modern. I had heard that this perfume was for brides during their wedding day to wear with their wedding dress; owing to the fact that Jessica McClintock designs bridal wear. So I was expecting either a powdery white floral or soapy white floral but nothing special. How wrong I was. This is truly special. Let me tell you how absolutely enchanted and amazed I was with this fragrance. The opening/first spray: a fresh, bright, sunny burst of aldehydes (not listed) with a solar halo; like an angel's visitation. It has a citrus start with the lemon and bergamot at the top. The ylang-ylang, not usually a top note, gives this scent a charmingly angelic radiance, a soft glow. It basically starts off 'yellow floral' not white floral, because of the citruses and especially that lemon and combined with the ylang. Then it goes into the heart which is all white: the signature lilies of the valley, the jasmine, and white roses. Lily of the valley is front and center. It's been favorably compared to the lily of the valley recreated chemically in Christian Dior's masterpiece Diorissimo. It has also been compared to the lily of the valley in Coty's Muguet des Bois. One might also want to add that it has that lily of the valley 'heart' in such beloved scents as Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley and Frederic Malle's En Passant (which oddly enough does not have a listed note of lily of the valley but ends up smelling like it). For me, this is an epic, huge lily of the valley. If you overspray it, yes it will be headache inducing and a nasal attack. It is a white flower bomb which if you spray too much on yourself or in the air, is powerful. I like heavy perfumes but even I had to apply with a light and minimal touch. One spray or two at most is enough and in a part of your body which you feel will be sensed and enjoyed the most - the neck with the ends of your hair picking up the scent, the front of the bosom, or the wrist to smell from time to time. Sillage is amazing. Longevity too. The white rose in this perfume is like the green stems having been cut and put into your nose and peeled open. It has a distinct green herbal aroma which is both green and spicy. The green note is the basil and the spiciness comes from the currant notes of cassia and black currant. Oddly enough, these currant notes do not really begin to kick until the dry down despite the notes being placed at the top. By the time of the dry down, the whole thing has been like having come down from a white cloud and you smell a subdued musk. I don't smell the woodsy notes. This perfume is not as forest-green or nature-green as 1970's perfumes. For an 80's perfume, it is more a dreamy, romantic, 'fantasy' green and white floral. It does a fantastic job of evoking a bride in a white wedding gown, holding a bouquet of lilies of the valley i.e. think Julie Andrews as Maria von Trapp in the big cathedral wedding scene in the Sound of Music, or Princess Diana marrying Charles on her wedding day or Kate Middleton in her white gown marrying Prince William. It has a royal wedding type of air, which has an old time old fashioned glamour and femininity. There is also something much older like 19th century Victorian going on. It creates images in my head and I can see white linen or lace, tablecloths, veils, white plantation manor houses (like Tara in Gone With the Wind) and Southern belles in white dresses and holding parasols with gloved hands. It is all fantasy and romanticism. The original TV ad for this fragrance perfectly captures the scent in a visual. It depicted a mother as a bride in her wedding gown and her small child daughter in her own formal white dress. There was a sweet soft music playing and the whole thing had a very old timey loveliness to it, but like a dream, nothing substantial; like a dream of romance and motherhood. It's for the uber feminine woman who dreams of her wedding day and starting a family. Indeed like the brand Jessica McClintock which is a retail brand for wedding gowns this is a perfume for brides in their wedding gowns. There is nothing unisex about this perfume. It is womanly. The lily of the valley is so enormous that it lingers and lingers until it gets into that musk dry down (which then also turns into currant) and then vanishes after several hours. It is meant to be enjoyed in the spring and summer months. This perfume is formal and classy, very clean and soapy, but soapy like expensive milled soap or lovingly made hand made soap not drugstore cheap soap. The soapiness gives it a clean pristine air but even as such it is a Floral with a big F on it. You have to love white florals to appreciate this fragrance. The lily of the valley, the jasmine, the white rose, in a gorgeous blend. Again this is an atom bomb so just spray with caution. Wear it to your wedding, wear it to Easter Sunday service. It is a perfume not meant to be worn casually or every day but only for a very special occasion. I have the 1.7 ounce size and so I will be using it sparingly so it can last me a long time and I will wear it on my wedding day one day, or if I choose a different perfume for that day, this perfume is really quite good as air freshner in the house, the living room, the bedroom, to scent over sheets or pillows. It has the same kind of power as room spray. I don't have to have Diorissimo in my collection. I have this and it's just as good as any classic white floral fragrance (my top favorite still being Chanel 22). I can't get over how beautiful this fragrance is. And the best part is this luxury perfume which smells expensive is fortunately NOT expensive and can be bought online for an affordable price or at a drugstore like CVS or Walgreens. But make no mistake. A cheap perfume it certainly is NOT. This a masterpiece in it's own class.

Chantilly lace... oh baby, that's a-what I like That cap really is everything. It fits what Jessica McClintock is all about for me. This is dainty, traditional, darling, wholesome and classic. Old-school, yes, in the best way possible. Because of other reviews here, I sought out the vintage, “Made Especially for Jessica McClintock” version. You guys were right! This version is stunning. I am delighted that it’s underrated because it was so readily available and cheap on EBay. I don’t know what the reformulated version smells like and I don’t want to. JM is a warm, soapy hug. It’s green and fresh laying amongst a bed of subtle florals. Hubba hubba zing zing, baby, she's got everything. Now that I think about it, this is the perfect signature for Rose Nylund. I love it a little more for that reason. She would have enjoyed the beautiful simplicity of it. Dorothy, a N°5 queen, couldn’t appreciate this. She would roll her eyes at it much like she does with Rose herself. Sophia wouldn’t give a shit enough to fuss with perfume. She already knows the art of commanding a room. Plus, it would clash with her signature scent of Bengay. Blanche wouldn’t own this but would sneak a few spritzes from Rose’s bottle on occasion right before entertaining a Texas Tea gent. JM contains the blueprint of all I hope for when I buy any fragrance and yet within its magic, it tragically conjures a migraine! I don’t know whether this is on account of the LOTV or the fact that it’s an older bottle. I have both older bottles and fragrances loaded with LOTV in them, some that I like a lot less I might mention. Without fail though, JM is the only one in my collection that has brought about an allergic reaction and done me dirty. I guess I am the oddball here because nobody else has spoken about this happening to them. Always within twenty-five minutes into wear time, my sinuses start aching and my eyes begin to water a little bit. But you know what? It’s so phenomenal that I am happy to pop a Benadryl and an aspirin beforehand. I love this perfume that much. It just renders me unable to claim it as a signature and wear it on a consistent basis. I guess I am a masochist because I know some of you would have happily chucked your bottle and not even have given it a second thought. I just can’t. There’s something special here that I can’t find anywhere else. Not even in her fair sister, Diorissimo. Longevity is above average but sillage is quiet. Overall, maybe an 8.5/10. Okay, 9. It would be a 9.5 if not for the reaction. Definitely give this a try if you love your soapy fragrances the way I do. She’s a lady. Respect her. Treasure her. And in my case, be patient with her. Edit: Okaaaay. So, I am eating my words. I ended up caving and bought a newer formulation from 2019. I knew I wasn’t going to be amazed but I had to try it anyway. It’s nice... same notes but just underwhelmingly diluted. Not even skin scent territory. It’s like scented body lotion now even after 12 sprays. No migraine but no original glory either. It’s no big loss because it was really affordable. I have had bad allergies lately so maybe my senses are off. Maybe this needs time to settle. Maybe it’s just not as good as the original juice. I will keep hope alive and try later. Edit 2: So, my new bottle has macerated and it IS a little better, a little truer to the original formulation. It’s definitely less nuanced but overall, not bad. I just couldn’t take the blinding migraines that accompanied my old bottle anymore and I am happy enough with the newer version.

I moved houses exactly a week ago and it has been an overwhelming experience. The sight of the boxes still remaining to be unpacked really gets to me, but I haven’t slept well in ages and I am beyond exhausted, which is why I couldn’t summon enough energy to get out. The other morning though, I decided to go for a walk. Right before putting on my shoes, I spritzed some Jessica McClintock on me. I’d tried this one the day before and wasn’t quite sure about it. I found the opening a bit harsh - maybe I don’t like the basil - and the progression of it didn’t feel smooth to me either. It felt almost too realistic- like I had torn a leaf into pieces and now the green bitterness lingered on my fingers. But that morning, as I watched the sea - we live right across the beach park - and listened to the racket of birds and looked at the greenery all around me, I realised that I couldn’t have thought of a better scent to accompany me that day. Jessica McClintock has been described as a spring scent - perfect for a spring bride - and now I totally get it. I don’t find the opening as harsh, in fact quite the contrary, I find the bitterness almost refreshing, like it has the ability to cut through the heat and humidity. It smells very realistic, and I get the Lily of the valley, leaves and stem and all, but I also get a warm almost uplifting vibe from it. It brings the colour white to mind. Morning dew and spring rain. Lush green. Crickets and cuckoos. A white sheer veil of beauty that wraps me in its gossamer embrace. I am in love. It does last quite a long time, and despite the fact that I was sweating quite profusely, the scent lingered on my skin. When I came back home, it was almost like I had brought the outdoors inside - like I had spent time lying down on the grass, making daisy chains and sniffing lilies, and I came back with petals and leaves still clinging to my hair. This perfume is not available where I live, so I am grateful for the second hand bottle kept in perfect condition that I scored, but I am already looking for a back up. That’s how much I love it.

I tried this scent when I was at kohls about a month or so ago, suffering from the February doldrums, searching for spring. There were two scents that I kept going back to and while at the time I ended up buying the other one (Il Bacio) this one wouldn't let me forget it. So I stopped in the other day to try it again and see what it was that kept me coming back. After trying it again (and no others) the too soapy first impression wasn't there. At first I got that zingy blast if lemon, quickly followed by cool dewy green spring morning and then the floral began to shine through. A lovely combination of Lily of the valley, rose and jasmine. To me the fragrance is genuine, not synthetic at all! I feel like I dove into a giant pile of flower petals rolled around a bit and emerged drenched in their scent! The price for a 1.7 oz at kohls was a little much ($54) and decided I would try to find it at a better price elsewhere. I found it and a matching lotion (3.4 oz EDP) online for $25 so I purchased it and waited with great anticipation for it to arrive. Got it yesterday and have been reveling in it ever since! The silage is moderate to heavy but that doesn't last too long. The longevity is 2-3 hrs, but since I got such a great deal I don't mind reapplying. Also, this is one that is good for all ages, my daughter fell in love with it too and has decided she must have her own bottle (I'm 46, she's 26). It's evolution, lemony green, followed by Lily/Rose flower petals, by hour 2 the Jasmine blooms and lingers seductively. This scent is not cloying, fruity or vanilla based as many are. It's spring, delightful, new and full of the promise of rebirth.

Allow me a moment of your time to discuss what I have discovered in Jessica McClintock. You should know that when first sprayed, this resembles beastly things like bug spray and turpentine. It is loud, and it is frightening. There may even be an impulsivity to race for a sink and wash whatever just happened off your arm. If you can, please pause, for these claws do recede quickly, and the essence left on skin is just lovely! Breezes gently waft various facets throughout the day, and the wearer is rewarded with extreme longevity. Sillage also presents in the very same way. Miraculous Lily of the Valley, rose and jasmine, catch waves and maintain the heart with paramount femininity. Almost a smoky "wood" and light musky notes ground the base. Its seems the top notes are the most divisive, with loud lemon, ylang ylang, and basil, and the wearer has to determine here, if those notes are an acceptable level of aggression. There are some similarities to Curve for women, but not enough to state they are interchangeable; just an option if you enjoy the perfume, but dislike the volume. There is sweetness here, but manages to behave in a very natural way. So, to summarize, this is a darling, fresh floral. Please allow fifteen minutes before attempting to enjoy or analyze this screamer. Your wait will be rewarded with a dazzlingly clean, floral composition, made optimistic with fresh verdant flare. And despite what Mae West might have said, more is not always better when anointing oneself with a powerhouse of this caliber. Remember only you can prevent dousing.

wowowow i have been inhaling this all day just trying to breathe it all the way in. this is perfect. it reminds me a lot of parfum d’ete by kenzo but honestly way better. more layered nd gorgeous than sharp green like kenzo. this is such a beautiful green floral foward scent. On the initial spray the basil does come through to me which i usually find very annoying and overpowering but its almost mint like without being sharp its just fresh and neutral and very well done in this i actually like it here. The citrus blends with the red current in the most addictive way like a sweet juicy lemon without being too fruity. The flowers are so photorealistic and lasting in this. I bought the full size from their website and they sent me 3 perfume samples and a lotion and all of them are sooooo beautiful i was soooo happy to receive them. My mom used to wear this and she will not stop commenting on how good i smell. I find the dry down on my skin smells different than on clothes, i get a strong honeysuckle mixed w jasmine and a very specific laundry detergent/softener or dryer sheet i am sure i have smelled before but can’t put my finger on it.It smells more sweet,powder, clean and flowery on skin but i get the basil and fresher notes more on clothes. I am layering this with iris by l’erbolario for a powdery fresh sweetness underneath, she let me know 4 times td that i smell sooo good . Pure fresh spring in a bottle, perfect time to have gotten this.

I discovered Lily of the valley fragrances in middle school with Coty's Muguet De Bois--clear--sharp--linear and sweet LORV- with a low price and an easy availability. I discovered high end LOTV with Dior's Diorissimo in college--more elegant and aspirational but still possible for a student to buy occasionally. I have worn Penhaligon's Muguet--Taylor of London's--( EXQUISITE!!) AND Woods of Windsor's---when I was convinced--in the 90's--that the Brits understood florals better than anyone else. In 1983--my wedding dress was off the rack from Sak's Jr department--when Jessica McClintock launched her first wedding collection.My 2 bridal attendants wore her dresses as well---I loved all her retro 19th century floral print and lace creations and I loved this scent!! Fresh--innocent--sweet and green--it's the perfect middle ground between Coty and Dior--( I haven't smelled the re-formulated Diorissimo---because anything Dior is out of my price range now!!) A few years ago--I bought some of her Brilliance scent--and I adore that one too!! I also have her Dancing fragrance--and for a heavier sweet floral Jasmin/gardenia blend--it's also quite nice. It's a big thumbs up from me!!

Fresh gorgeous white flowers. Yes these days it's more comfortable to smell like a pink popsicle or maple walnut ice cream or chocolate lava cake lol - I joke - I do love gourmands as well. But this - floral classic. This, to me, is uplifting. It's clean and classic and feminine and realistic lily of the valley, jasmine, greenness healthy plants that grow around luxurious ocean towns. For me that's one of the most beautiful scents in the world. If you love Elegantly Tokyo by Jo Malone for Zara, or if you love white florals this one might take your breath away like it does mine. It's also gorgeous to layer with woody fragrances, or amber ones to give this depth. Longevity is great, the perfect summer evening scent. I've spent a few years in a very hot climate about 5 degrees away from the equator and this scent would do perfectly in a hot warm night in a humid climate and this is what this reminds me of - tropical nights. Hot Tip: In twelve years from now, every teenager in every high school will smell exactly like this. For now, those of us with our own car keys/mortgages and credit cards get to wear it. We all get a turn thank goodness!

Snagged a 1.7 eau de parfum at Burlington today for $20. If you are a lily of the valley lover like me, you have to smell this. Fresh fresh, a true to lotv soapyness, the slightest powder on drydown. Soooo feminine. This is an oldie but goodie. It's not the run of the mill "powerhouse" perfumes of the 80's/90's. I can't believe I passed this one by without even smelling it for so long. It resembles kate spade walk on air. I think for a straight on lotv though I prefer this. Walk on air mingles with grassiness and a laundry soap type of "clean". Ive been wearing this today for a few hours, 3 sprays neck and wrists and it's staying true and so clean. I have a bloodhounds nose and am easily sickened by a lot of scents that become cloying and nauseating. It keeps my perfume collection small and precise. So far so good with this one. I think it's because it's an uncomplicated scent and the lotv is VERY well done, very true to the scent of the real flower. Whatever else is in the mix compliments each other so nicely..... And I wasn't even going to hit Burlington today, I must have the luck of the Irish on this St. Patrick's day :)

Ohhhh, JMC... I can see the "vintage" and "mature" aspects others haves described, and I even get a twinge of that burnt rubber effect that's so prominent in Clinique Happy. So I can understand how this would be too much for some. It literally smacks you in the face with a floral bouquet, mostly Lily. When I first sniffed it, I thought "oh yes, this will be beautiful in the springtime", and even though it was mid January I dabbed a little on my wrist, just because it was soooo pretty. Then there was the drydown.... I caught a whiff of it on my wrist several hours later but didn't even register the impressive longevity because I was struck by how utterly GORGEOUS the drydown was! Creamy, musky, still slightly floral, and sooo feminine. Screw the season, I want to smell like this all the time! You'll like this if you like grown-up florals (I hesitate to use "mature" because that implies "old lady", but to me it's not old lady at all). It's a sophisticated, confident woman that has a frilly, girly side. Also, when my boyfriend smelled the drydown on my chest, he literally purred!

This was my signature perfume during my college days in the 90s and I had been missing it lately so ordered a fresh bottle, wondering if it would have changed. It is still the beautiful lily of the valley it used to be. This is a straightforward white floral without the sweet patchouli of today's recent releases. It feels classic, but does NOT have the "church lady" powderiness or aldehydes that can make a fragrance seem outdated. This still feels modern and fresh. It makes its presence known, but isn't screechy. Who wears this? A person who loves florals, along the lines of J'adore, Chloe, Eternity,Trussardi Donna etc. The lemon is noticeable to me throughout, as is the LOTV, and a little musk at the dry down. I really don't get the other notes, except to say that there is a slight green freshness to this, maybe the basil? The lily of the valley is the star, here, though. I am happy to have this in my collection again and will be wearing it this summer for sure. Welcome back, old friend.

SavageinStrange. Well put. I could've written that review myself. Jessica Mc Clintock was my first "Adult" perfume. I discovered it around 17 years old in the 80's. I am much older now. My tastes, preferences, finances & body chemistry have changed. Now that Im older I have grown "SELECTIVE" of fragrances. I'm no longer on the budget of an 18 year old either. I currently (& for quite sometime) prefer sophisticated fragrances. Through the years though. I would occasionally pick up a bottle of JM. As an impulse buy when I ran across it. But,I have never disliked it. Ever. How can I grow tired, disgusted with the scent of a simple bouquet of fresh springtime white flowers? That's what it smells like. It really does have a "HAPPY" smell. Very uplifting. It doesn't smell dated/outdated or Cheap. It doesn't smell "Tweeny or Teeny" doesn't smell "old ladyish". It smells... "Good." It's A Simple, Fresh, Clean, Floral, Feminine, Good Scent. That's Timeless & Ageless.

Im so 😥 sad. This has always been my favorite fragrance. I stopped wearing it for the oast ten years cuz my mom akways comolains about how horrible it is but i love it! So i decided to go ahead and start wearing this again. I just got it in the mail today and im almost in tears! Literally im that sad... It smells different. It smells like how the modern jess snells that i bought and its bad. Im wondering if this seller is selling bad bottles but im highly disappointed. I dont think the formula has changed and its not my chemistry because even out of the bottle its bad. Its nothing like the beauty i remember and im tempted to buy another bottle of this from a different seller and also try modern jess from a different seller too cuz they both smell like moldy powder. Im not familiar with modern jess but i am very well aquainted with Jessica mcclintock in all seasons and i know its not supposed to smell like this. Sad 😥.

Spring in a bottle, I love JM, It to me smells like soap and water clean more so than Pure Grace by Philosophy which I love also. I am reviewing a vintage bottle that the juice was yellow, but listen to me my friends if you want a faint lily of the valley scent buy the current it if you want lots of strength in your fragrance and still smell of this beautiful fragrance than look for vintage how I find older bottles the juice is darker but what I look for when I'm shopping on EBay is the bottom of the bottle if it says (Made especially for Jessica McClintock inc)” that's the best formula by far. I don't like the current it's got to much basil and lemon in it, but the vintage has more floral notes and not so much basil, lemon, bergamot, what you get in the vintage is pure Lily of the valley.. it's gorgeous ladies! EDITED 09-20-2019 The vintage version is golden yellow and compared to the newer release, which is clear). Overall, the scent is is much richer. The lily of the valley (LOTV) is not as prominent upon first spray like the newer one is, and I swear there has to be a touch of oakmoss in this. Dare I say the vintage is sweeter and also slightly sour (in a good way), from the cassis? Yet I do not detect a distinct cassis note. It is not a LOTV soliflore like the newer release, not to my nose. It is a more well-blended white floral with LOTV as the star flower. Honestly, both version are very floral if that is your thing. So, it depends on what you are aiming for in your JMC fragrance. The newer release is all about the LOTV, lemon and basil (to my nose) whereas the vintage is a richer, well-blended white floral that is more complex.

Jessica McClintock opens a bit harsh, with a citrus cleanser-like note -- but it's really not that bad -- but, oh my goodness! the drydown is beautiful: green leaves, lily of the valley, + sweet citrus. So, if you can wait 15 minutes through a mildly rough patch, you will be rewarded with a gorgeous fragrance. To my nose, as it dries down, it manages to get sweeter and warmer in the most delightful way, almost as if there was honey or vanilla in the scent (but I know there's not). I only remember smelling Diorissimo in my childhood (one of our family friends wore it) but JM is definitely reminiscent of Diorissimo, from what I recall. It's very green, pure, youthful, and sweet (though truly anyone could wear it). It's a really lovely scent. Now that I'm acquainted with this beauty, I'm curious about Jessica McClintock Number 3!

I love a good floral scent, and for me this is one of them, it goes with my chemistry and just smells GOOD, from first to last. In addition, it has some base notes that anchor the floral, so it's not too "airy" and it's got some sensuality to it. I don't know if the bottle I've been using (purchased approx. 3 years ago) is a reformulation, or whether this scent hasn't been reformulated over the years. Nevertheless, I'm about to purchase a vintage bottle from Ebay to compare whether the vintage scent smells different, and whether I like it more, or less. (hopefully it won't have been improperly stored or spoiled, that's the risk you take with vintage scents on the reseller market). All in all, I do love this one, it just works for me and makes me feel pretty and gives me that fragrance "lift" all day when I wear it.

A timeless gem! I simply cannot believe how inexpensive this is now... As a child of the 80s, I remember the elegant Jessica McClintock advertisements from back in the day. This was a luxury perfume that has held up beautifully over the years. Yes, it is very similar to Diorissimo, which is known as a quintessential lily of the valley solofleur and is one of my all-time favorite classics. JM is a bit lighter, fluffier, brighter with it's slight touch of citrus. However it is extremely long lasting with excellent silage. I love to wear it as a bedtime scent, and it lasts until morning! Perfect for spring, a bride, or anyone who loves classic, unashamedly ladylike fragrance. ✨ P.S. I adore evavidal62's review below... My thoughts exactly!

I smelled this beautiful perfume on a lady, asked her what it was and she said "Jessica McClintock". It smelled so soft and sweet on her ! Checking notes here, I was afraid this perfume would be too green for me. But I bought a vintage bottle anyway, thinking I could give it away if it didn't work on my skin. Happily, I am able to wear it due to the very sweet flowers that overcome the green notes. This is a truly feminine fragrance, a burst of Spring, and it lasts until I wash it off ! Projection is moderate for the first 4 hours, then it wears close to skin, but leaves a sweet flowery trail that wafts around me even in the slightest breeze. Beautiful, so fresh, uplifting and flowery sweet ! I'm so glad I have this gorgeous vintage !

Sparkly, bright and very FEMININE. Clean and sweet. I LOVE it. It projects arms length and not sure how long it lasts as I have just sprayed it on. I am guessing it is a laster. The lily of the valley, jasmine and rose are seamlessly blended...a bit of lemon for sparkle and freshness. The lily of the valley does sings above the rest but the addition of jasmine and a touch of rose keep the flowers from becoming too sharp. The musk and wood notes are gentle and keep everything grounded and not too high pitched. I am wearing this on a winter day...so lovely to be surrounded in the fragrance of these lovely flowers. I suggest 2 sprays and let everything rest and add more if necessary. I sprayed the tops of my wrists.

My exploration of lily of the valley note has lead me to this classic. This is a delightful and surprisingly fresh white floral frag. I have to say that for me this smells a bit more like the large oriental stargazer lilies, than lily of the valley. That’s ok for me, but if you hate the smell of large lilies (like my mom) you may want to reconsider. I also think that’s why some people are associating this perfume with funeral parlors. Again, it doesn’t bother me. When I think of stargazer lilies and I think of my kid and gardening, not places where we mourn, but we all make different associations to scent. I don’t understand where people talk about JM, having very poor longevity? My bottle is more current and JM last on my clothes for days with 6 sprays. I too always assumed the only kind of perfumes that others could smell were perfumes such as Cinnabar, Or Opium those heavy duty perfumes. But so not true at all! Some lighter scents others can smell on us. Out of all the scents I have worn over the years, this by far is the most summery scent out there. Summer in a bottle. I personally don’t think I would wear this in the winter, but tbh, it wouldn’t shock me if I did. I never was one of those ppl who keep certain perfumes for certain seasons. I do love JM a lot. It’s truly magnificent!

An oldie but goodie fragrance. I wore this one in high school and I still wear it. This is in my opinion, a yummy fresh white floral fragrance that has a green lushness to it. I love the basil top note. Wearing this fragrance is like wearing a Jessica McClintock dress; wistful, demure, elegant yet flirty. I would not classify this as a particularly bright fragrance, it's very understated and soft; not a 'statement' sort of fragrance, so if you like deeper more complex fragrances, this one isn't for you. What's great about JM is that you can easily wrap your nose around the notes, and there's something to be said for such quiet simplicity.

Love, love, LOVE this fragrance! Bright flowers with a breeze blowing their lovely scent around, catching the grass (not DEEP but bright) and then settles into a perfect clean, fresh, soapy spring/summer choice! I usually love bergamot, musk and sandalwood usually, but what ever kind of "woody notes" they chose does the trick! I wonder what throwing a little pink pepper in there would do to it? Hmmmmmmmm........ Not necessary, however, because it is perfection as it is. I cannot wait to begin wearing my bright, soapy florals!!! I am really about done with my ambers and vanillas and oud and and and........I need some freshness :o)

This was a happy blind buy! Springtime loveliness in a bottle. I'm usually a floriental, woody spice kind of gal, so it's a treat to find something so completely different from that, and so, so wonderful. I love it. It is so gentle, clean and fresh and the lily of the valley is wonderful. Maybe I'm changing my ways! I wonder if when we get that really tiresome wet and cold weather in February, if this perfume will help get me across the finish line till Spring. I have no nostalgic associations or memories of this fragrance, but it reminds me of being young and happy and full of hopes and dreams.

Clean, crisp, like a freshly ironed and lightly starched white linen tunic. Sparkly, bright and youthful with a dominant note of lily of the valley, with a backdrop of soft lemon, basil and a whisper of musk and woody notes. I'd love to find the matching lotion and I wonder if they also make a matching shower gel? That would be amazing to bathe in! From other reviewers, it sounds like the vintage version is even better. My bottle is a recent one from Ross (got it about two years ago). Still lovely and puts a smile on my face, sillage is moderate and makes the space around me smell like spring.

I smelled this on a coworker over 25 years ago and asked her what it was. Bought my own bottle and have been hooked ever since. They used to make popourri in the same scent. Delightful stuff, but it was very hard to find. Recently, when my husband was looking for this perfume for me, he was told that it was discontinued a few years ago. Well, that about broke my heart! This lily of the valley & honeysuckle (etc) slice of olfactory heaven is my favorite scent. I did, however, notice it for sale both at WalMart and Macys. So, I guess it made a comeback. Anybody know the details about this?

Tiny white flowers. Beautiful lily of the valley. Spring in a bottle. Slightly green like the buds mixed with blooms and thick leaves. You can find it under $25. As a child I would smell someone wearing this and ask them about it. It was always JM. I was drawn to it like a bee! I once got a tiny bottle from my aunt. It does turn yellow green after some years. Then I bought a bigger bottle as an adult. Sometimes it’s piercing harsh if it’s aged past 10 years. I can’t say what causes that. Maybe the citrus in it. I think this might be best as a fresh bottle. Definitely buying another soon!

I have a vintage bottle of this yellow juice, let me tell you how much more beautiful the older formula is. When you first spray it let it sat on your skin for a few mins before smelling. I noticed that it got stronger the longer on my skin that was interesting, I will tell you that it’s not as sharp as the current at all, also the citrus doesn’t hit you in the face like in the current I get a lot of a jasmine and rose in the vintage formula not as much citrus and that makes this a huge love for me. The sprayer in the older bottles sprays out so much better also. Love love love this.

Day 2 of wearing Jessica McClintock edp, let me start out by saying I adore this so much. The staying power is pretty good silage is great. I am a huge Lily of the Valley fan!! I will always have this is my collection. JM, is for the ladies who enjoy the citrusy Lily of the valley flower. Lily Of The Valley gives off almost a soap smell. If your life myself and love Lily Of the valley than you will love this. It took me years too appreciate Lily of the Valley. As of lately I have been wearing the hell out of this perfume!!! I adore it so much. (Masterpiece)!!

Whenever I smell this (it's not very often) It makes me think of being 20 years old in the spring. This is a nice once or twice a year in the spring. I wouldn't make it my signature scent at almost retirement age. But it's a very straightforward LOTV with a bit of Jasmine underneath. Good Silliage and longevity for the price. It's very nice. But nothing unique or complicated. Which is really it's charm. I can see wearing this for Easter, a spring wedding, or even a spring bridal or baby shower. Or just a day or so on those first nice spring days of the year.

I put this as a love, because I've encountered 3 people in my lifetime who have this as their signature scent. It smells so gorgeous on them, but sadly it just does not work on me at all. I've purchased it and I wound up de-cluttering the full bottle years later. This was in my late 20's, I don't know I am feeling nostalgic lately and wondering now that I am in my 40's this would be different on me now. If it works for your chemistry, I am absolutely jealous. It's fresh, powdery and so so comforting. You know the person who wears this gives the best hugs.

Sometimes you just need a little spring reminder and this one will hit the mark. It is very romantic, think spring wedding and lily of the valley in every flower arrangement. It does remind me a little of Modern Jess but that has Hyacinth. When its cold and you just cant wait for something spring like, this one fits. It does remind of Muguet des Bois by Coty which is no longer around or even Fracas. A large bouquet of Lily of the Valley right in your face so make sure you love Lily or you will be one of those saying not for me. its a powerhouse of lily.

Love this! It’s a fresh romantic scent, very clean and natural. I mostly pick up on lily of the valley with a touch of citrus. I was worried it would smell too musky or synthetic, but it’s perfect. I think this is best worn in the Spring, but would still be pretty in any season, I get that certain fragrances vibe better with certain times of the year, but I hate limiting myself so I just wear what I feel, when I feel. This fragrance is a classic, it’s feminine, dreamy, and beautiful. I imagine this is how a woodland fairy would smell.

Love this, it's a beautiful strong clean white floral. Very refreshing LOTV, it is quite soapy, radiates and lasts a long time. It doesnt smell dated to me at all, it smells classic. It reminds me of my mom even though she didnt wear it. She was a working class single mom, didnt have money to send me to after school programs. She would use her lunch break to go late and pick me up from school, I'd go back to work at the office with her and I smelled this scent of many of the office ladies. I wear this in the office now in the spring.

I don't plan to get married any time soon, but still I can so totaly see wearing Jessica Mclintock for my wedding day! This is all about flower, strong but innocent at the same time. The scent itself is very femminine, soft but on the other hand very seductive. Got so many compliments from both men and women, so I think it's a crowd pleaser. Saying that, it's always nice when people around you, do notice a wonderful smell you're projecting. I'm so glad I blind bought the bottle, no regrets at all, only pure moments of joy.

Jessica McClintock is one of those rare fragrances that are strong enough to last on skin all day, regardless of the temperature, without losing the middle notes and being cloying; all I can say is, wow, just wow! Such a clean, elegant, pretty scent that is perfect for everyday wear, day or night. Strong notes for me are lemon and honeysuckle, and I also smell the lily of the valley quite strongly. The bottle is very pretty and understated with a lovely white cap, very fitting for this white floral gem of a perfume!

This is a beautiful and fresh lotv fragrance. The lotv is the star of this perfume with the rose and jasmine sitting politely in the back seat. Whiffs of Basil, Lemon and Ylang Ylang at the dry down, but the lotv still shines the most. I am so glad to have received this, as I was on the hunt for a dominant lotv and now I've found it. Most impressive is the Longevity. I was expecting maybe 2-3 hours as my skin eats lotv quickly, but I got 5 hours! This is a real gem for the lotv lover!

I agree with the comment below, "Queen of Lily of the Valley scents.". It is fresh spring flowers, crisp, soft, innocent & gorgeous. The perfect balance. I feel any age could wear this, if you like florals. It's not "old lady"-ish & it's not juvenile. My signature scent from my teenage years through to my 40s! it is an ageless, timeless classic IMO. The sillage & longevity are superb. The bottles keep for years without going rancid. I adore it. Perfection in a bottle.

White, white flowers the Jasmine i assume. It's a very loud and harsh perfume. Old fashioned too. I like it but not love it. Jasmine is not my flower apparantly. I like it because it's truly a power bomb. Projection is heavy and longtivity is good. You really must love the smell of Jasmine because that smell is dominant in this perfume. I will use up the bottle but not purchase again. I prefer the smell of gardenia and rose above the Jasmine. 😊

First spray is rose, straigjt up. Then fresh cut grass for a few minutes. Then, when it mellows, you have a beautiful bouquet of white flowers on a table set for tea, including sliced lemons on a patio with a well manicured lawn. Lovely, lady-like fragrance Edit: I tried to wear this a couple of days ago, but forgot how powerful it is. I must remember to spray the air and walk through. Not for pulse points!

Jessica McClintock is the Only perfume, that absolutely, without exception I am stopped and asked what I'm wearing. I gave someone a hug, and they said "oh my gosh, this is exactly the smell of spring" and I agree. Give it 3-4 minutes and it is Heavenly (most especially if you love white florals). If you like deep, dark intense resinous scents... probably not for you. It is very long lasting !!!

Found a surprisingly well-preserved vintage bottle at an antiques shop. The liquid has turned amber and the scent is beautifully macerated. I am normally not interested in jasmine-forward perfumes but was blown away by how freshly it's used in this composition as opposed to the indolic or beachy vibe jasmine often brings imo. Really excellent usage of basil too.

I love this so much. I remember yearning for it as a teen, but we were poor, so. This smells like a summer wedding to me. You got all dressed up, fresh and clean -- you're sweaty but it's okay, you smell good. I know it's VERY spring coded, but something in the lily aspect gives me hot, humid vibes. This is a summer go-to for me. The 90s freshies get me again!!!

I first wore this on holiday in Asia. It was hot and humid but I smelled amazing and fresh! I find this to be incredible value for money and a wonderful fresh, clean, delicious subtle floral scent for the office. I honestly think it works in all weather. I keep a decant with me, a little spritz makes me smile (and reminds me of our wonderful holiday!).

I picked this bottle up as a bargain...it was just the amount I needed to push an online order over the line for free shipping. Boy, am I glad! I LOVE this perfume. From the first spray to the dry down, this is a lovely, lovely fragrance. I love everything it brings to the table, especially the lily of the valley. I just ordered a backup bottle.

This is just gorgeous. Dewy Lily of the valley petals with sweet jasmin. The Jasmin perfectly compliments LOTV and they mesh together beautifully. However the LOTV steals the show :) This perfume is all about sweet angelic LOTV. Jessica McClintock EDP projects sweetness, youth and beauty. Scent of an angel. Sillage and longevity are amazing.

This is one of the more unique 80s scents. Not as unique as Calyx but it's pretty close. This smells a lot like something that would have been released in the 90s. Jessica McClintock is the true "Flowerbomb". It's not old lady or old feeling at all, It's very summery with a bit of a sun tan lotion smell. It's really good!

OMG beautiful! I thought my bottle was bad but im wearing it now in Minnesota early January and it is at its finest now! This is the magnificent beauty i remember it to be! I can smell all notes in perfect harmony with each other, just such a mesmerizing fragrance😍 im back in love with this one again ❤

While this does not remind me of diorissimo edt nor coty muget des bois, nor much of my predominantly lotv scents, I still absolutely love this scent. It is more more predominantly jasmine to me, but it does have that delightfully green start! The price is also fantastic for how well it performs.
