Mystic Canyon

I got my hands on this today, was t sure what to expect . I was excited to see Jessica release a new fragrance. The bottle is beautiful, very nice . The scent itself is very delicate, don’t go into this thinking it’s a power house, this isn’t that type of fragrance. It’s meant to be subtle and discrete. Think of this as a grown up viva la juicy with more little spice and floral. It’s not too spicy , it’s safe and won’t offend anyone so it’s great for office wear or something along those lines . The vanilla really pulls on me which I’m ok with . I would like it to be a tad bit stronger but it’s fine , I hope we get a lotion. I would love to layer it . Very safe, it was a blind buy for me but I like it. I’m happy she is back in the fragrance game because I am a fan of her line and fragrances as fancy is my all time favorite.

Got this today. QUITE SURPRISED! First, the bottle is gorgeous... Second, the scent is beautiful! Not too heavy, nothing groundbreaking, but overall -- I am quite suprised! (Did I say that again!?) Overall, I give it a thumbs up & 5 stars. Try it -- you won't be disappointed. HOURS LATER UPDATE: So, this is truly resembling Baccarat 540 and Cloud -- but I will say that it's more pleasant. Those other two are very cold and icy for which JS Mystic is calm and has a sweet note that makes it more wearable. If that makes sense!

This is so good. It reminds me a little of devotion. It's powdery vanilla with some fruity citrusy note. Also reminds me of Dolly Tennessee sunset. I instantly thought marshmallows when I first sprayed it. Towards the dry down it does smell like cloud, but I like this better. It projects, but it's not over powering!

Just another update. The more you wear this, the better it gets! Seriously....it's a gorgeous scent that lasts a good amount of time... Maybe 6-7 hours.

Beautiful scent. Begins as Cloud and then very quickly turns into a clean toffee scent. Magical. Jessica does not disappoint.

Lovely but yet another BR540/Cloud derivative. Not a dupe, but not different enough to justify adding it to my collection. If you can't get enough of every single mass market perfume from the past ten years, go for it. The quality IS superb for the price, and the bottle is beautiful. I get no iris and no oakmoss. First spray is a blast of cherry lozenges (not in a bad way, but a tad medicinal if you're sensitive to that), and that gives way to the familiar rose-amber DNA of the similar frags mentioned above. I do like it, but I was too hopeful for something new.

Got to stop in at JCpenney today and sniff the new fragrance by Jessica Simpson. Mystic Canyon is Jessica’s first fragrance release in a couple of years. Her last 2 in 2020 were Fancy Forever and Fiend. With 10 main staple scents. Not counting her early eatable fragrance line (yes she had perfume you could lick off you lmao it was. So awkward) I have had/have every single fragrance. I still have 6 of the 10. However. Will I be adding Mystic Canyon to my crew ? First - I grabbed the bottle to spray. I was immediately shocked how cheap the bottle feels. It feels totally plastic. Clunky. That threw me off. But overall it looks. Nice. Now the scent. First blast. I was disappointed as well. Smelly woody rose. With notes of - pink pepper, plum, black currant, jasmine, rose, iris, cedar, amber, patchouli, vanilla and oak moss. Shewww that’s a lot. She coulda left about 3-4 of those notes out. Now everyone’s skin and chemistry will pick up varying notes. However. On original opening I got a soft peppery floral. Then the dry down for me was pure plum and vanilla. With a hint of the amber. The vanilla was NICE. But I really don’t need ANOTHER vanilla/fruity/woodsey scent. Did I love it enough to buy a bottle? No. This will be a pass SIMPLY because it doesn’t. Wow me. It does. Smell really good though. It’s not up to par with other releases of hers. Fancy Love being my ultimate top of the top from her and a flat out amazing scent. This is just a bit. Bland. Kinda how I felt about vintage bloom - something was missing. For the $ money though a 1.0 oz is only $35 that’s the price of a travel spray for most brands and the 3.4 oz is only $60 - the value is there. If I do decide to circle back or even ask for a bottle I’d start with the 1.0 fl oz and be fine with that. I suggest sniffing this one before you blind buy.

This starts off really pink pepper heavy when 1st sprayed to the point that I was wondering when it was going to settle down. Unfortunately I could smell the ambroxan in the base right away and that really ruined it for me as that note bothers me. My husband smells it the way it is intended to smell so he didn't mind this perfume as much. As it settles it becomes a basic warm, fruity jasmine with a vanillin amber ambroxan/woody base. Plum is somewhat noticable but not as prominent as most people that love plum would probably hope for. Unfortunately it smells inexpensive like it wasn't made with the best materials. It's not horrible but it's not as nice as I would expect from Jessica. I will have to test it again next time I am at Penny's. But it at first trial it wasn't on par with the Fancy line. I retested this today and the pink pepper was strong in the top but it didn't knock me over like it did the first day. It still is a hazy non descript fruity floral with a vanilla amber base. It's no even all that woody IMO. I wish the plum was more prominent. It maybe a fragrance that needs time to mature. Some fragrances are like that. The bottle is very stunning. I just wish they had put as much thought into the fragrance.

I don't understand why this is pulling so vanillic on me, I seem to be in the minority judging from other reviewers. But really, even right put of the bottle, the airy vanilla is dominant to me. But this is enjoyable, it's not exactly like Cloud, but it smells exactly like an Ariana Grande fragrance and I WOULD NOT be shocked to discover that was made by the same perfumer(s). It's very, very Gen-Z coded, a light musky, cleanly vanillic thing with floofy musk. It's diffusive as all hell too, I can sense it wafting all over the place, even outdoors in the cool air! It is very *pink* ultimately, and I don't think it matches the bottle. It's nothing I've never smelled before, and nothing necessarily impresses me, but it's nice.

I usually love vanilla perfumes and the general BR540 DNA, but I don't care for Mystic Canyon at all. :( It's like a heavier, sweeter and more vanilla-forward version of Cloud or Mod Vanilla. Something in it is borderline nauseating to my nose, unfortunately. The bottle looks nice, although the scent inside doesn't match the design IMO. ** Update 8/4 - Trying Mystic Canyon again and upgrading it from a Dislike to an OK. The weather is slightly cooler today, so it doesn't feel quite as heavy/cloying.

If anyone has stayed at the FountainBleu in Vegas this smells exactly like that hotel

I really like this one. For me personally this is the best perfume she has released since Fancy Love. On my skin I do get resemblance of the original Fancy, it's interesting to me. Mystic Canyon could be worn day or night. I really like this kind of scent. The rose in here in blended good enough for me to wear this. This is really good for $60. I am glad she released another perfume. We don't have that many celebrity scents anymore. This perfume isn't too mature, I feel like it's just right. I feel like this perfume is perfect if you are in your 30's. I am not sure if anyone else will smell this, and think that this is Fancy all grown up, it gives me that vibe. Mystic Canyon isn't sickly sweet; I feel the florals round it out. Also, the iris rounds this perfume, I get a slight powdery, it's not full on powdery. I really like the bottle, and the name of this perfume. I hope she keeps releasing perfumes.

I bought a bottle of this today. It reminds me of Phlur Vanilla Nectar with added spiciness and rose. The opening is a fruity burst with vanilla, then I get more rose in the mid, and the dry down is a beautiful amber vanilla. I really like this one and need to give it more time to test. It’s not as heavy as I expected it to be which I appreciate because I don’t like super overpowering scents. This would be a good every day signature scent. It is nice for any age, and I don’t feel it’s juvenile at all or too mature. I’m in my mid-30’s and feel like this is perfect for me!

This is so underwhelming , it drives me insane. It has all these great notes, but it just smells like sweet amber .

I really like it. Smells exactly like baccarat rouge extrait just without the saffron
