Arabian Nights Eau de Toilette

Lovely. Just lovely. I was poised to buy this version of Arabian Nights a few months ago but found it was out of stock. I was gutted to have missed out on what seemed to be revered as a rare beauty of a scent in the Rose-Oud arena. I was having a peruse of my trusted sellers on eBay recently and suddenly there it was back in stock!!! Yeah buddy!......so I hit the button and grabbed me a bottle pronto. I love these JDP Arabian collection bottles (I also have Noble Musk Nights and Mystic Leather Nights), The piano-black/Onyx, obelisk style presentation is very striking. All the scents I have tried from this line are excellent and Arabian Nights Eau De Toilette is no exception. The opening is the classic, dark, breathy, Rose and moderately animalic Oud but after 15 minutes or so the molecules ignite and out come Thyme and Saffron giving an almost incense-like accord. Then there is a deep, peppery-woody accord that provides a strong backbone rounded off with a sweet-musky accord that fits the Rose-Oud profile perfectly. After a bit of digging online the official notes appear to be: Top: Rose, Saffron, Thyme Mid: Gaiac wood, Cedar, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver Base: Oud, Amber, Cistus, Musk. Based on the accords that I get from it the above seems to be pretty much spot on although there are perhaps one or two notes I don't get at all (Cistus, Vetiver). While it may align itself very closely with the plethora of westernised Rose-Oud scents to have been released over the last 10-15 years this one is surprisingly natural smelling for a budget option and the performance is bold without being intrusive. Yes, for me this was blind-buy gold.

Top Notes: Thyme and rose Heart Notes: Vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, gaiac wood, virginia cedar and saffron Bottom Notes: Musk, french laurel, amber and oud agar wood. A francincense stunner. This version is a rare one. Better and more complex than the EDP (black bottle) and double priced in the oriental markets (few...) in comparsion with the EDP version. Niche quality, with a strong sillage and avesome performances in longevity. The oud is not agrresive, but the entire composition is very quality, unique, with best ingredients as evry scent from oriental collection JDP is. A true love for me, among Dahlia from desert Flowers collection, Mystic leather, Noble MUsc Nights and Rose Oud from the Arabian Nights Collection. Also the bottle and presentation are stunning. Very close to Sahara Noir, TF, including the performances.

Amazing fragrance! Later on I must write a proper review. Now I'll just make a brief comment: Awesome unisex perfume ! Recommended !

Very good rose, oud and spices combo!

Ok so here is my review after 6 years haha: Smells very similar to the Eau De Parfum version, but slightly different. Performances are the same pretty much but this one smells fresher and more airy if it makes sense. Great Oud and Rose fragrance, dare I say a staple. The EDP was the first real fragrance I fell in love with after many years of research. Definietly worth it. I wish it performed better though as the performances are not outstanding in any way, but the smell is luxurious. Typical middle easter oud, arabic scent. Peace !
