I am so surprised this perfume has not earned any reviews so far. I was not familiar with the brand and with the perfume range when I was offered to try it at one of the niche perfume shops in Madrid.I think the name is totally justified...it is captivating. It opens with a sweet iris with something unusual in the background. This "something" causes you to dig your nose inside your skin. After a couple of minutes the pepper steps in and it is SO prominent throughout its lifetime. Its bitter, its warm. Like a deep dark wet forest early in autumn. I have worn it in all the seasons and I found that it plays better in autumn and winter. On the other hand in hot weather some "sourness" make it smell like sweat. It is not a "pretty" perfume, it is a perfume that has a character, strong proud character. Captive #1 is such a complex, modern, unique masterpiece. I have not encountered anything close to it. And I am so proud I own it.

Pepper & iris... I get the notes shown above exactly as it is! Lightly black pepper, with a touch of airy iris, amber gris, and MAYBE cedar, but i am getting as well something sour like citrus, something milky like (just a touch) mingled in. The colder the more peppery it become with some ambergris that rises as well. I believe this is sexy in deed. Beautiful.
