Trance

Great fume, one of the best tested recently, very intriguing and animalic, if you like the genre, you will love this but you also have to love rose. This is most similar to vintage Bal a Versailles and L'Air de Rien in vibe but of course there are differences. If you want a heavy hitting seductive fume but something new, try this. There is definitely oud here, it is listed and is most present in the opening notes but lingers on counterbalancing the very different notes. This is a complex fume with a definite presence for a strong, sexy woman from Film Noir or early film history, twenties, thirties, even fifties. In my opinion this is more feminine for sure due to the heavy rose and a slight sweetness. Fortunately for me this is very far from a gourmand, while there is sweetness, it leaves after the first ten minutes or so because it is true that it does open up quite sweet. Whatever remains of that is slight and necessary to counteract the strong rose, labdanum, oud combo, which notes most definitely dominate here in this order. I want this badly, I tried it last week loved it, got a sample which I used today and might go out and grab a bottle today. Very unique among what is made and sold today, while nothing is really unprecedented in perfumery, it is a new take and great interpretation on a more feminine animalic, dark and seductive fume.

I find this scent truly superb! The opening is very intense, and rather similar to other scents in the line (Namely Rausch) but you really have to stick it out for about an hour until it really comes into its own. As mentioned in previous reviews, the darkness and is really something that is difficult to describe as its not characteristic of anything else I've smelled. Boy oh boy is this stuff strong, the staying power is also top notch - interestingly enough though the Rose does not get overpowered by the Oud and the pairing of the two in this instance is really great! FYI I am not at all the type to like an oud based scent usually. Perhaps years of living in the Gulf have thrown me off it for good. All in all I think this stuff is killer and it should at least be tested. I don't believe its for everyone though so do be warned - to my nose it seems very youthful and the same goes for some of the others in the line (Rausch - 1A33).

We were fantasizing about a more modern and lively rose about 20/20, now it's done! It is indeed a perfume that I think more complex than this other rose mentioned above, more animal and sensual too, deeper, with a very peculiar background smell, almost of burnt tire or plastic (but vegetal) slightly spicy, which makes it a rose that is relatively out of the ordinary. It evolves then on something very veiled, light grey, tissue paper of thin layers, and it is really something on which one puts the nose with pleasure throughout the evolution (on purpose, I almost want to say "of the stripping"). Not disappointed, very interesting. And as for all the other perfumes of the house, the hold is very very good on my skin (it really follows me from the morning to the evening).

Aaaahhhh...I stumbled upon something that will improve my blind sampling batting average. Simply put, Trance is like olfactory hypnosis. It's a few things in life that I can't live without; Trance and the NFL Red Zone Channel are a few of them. Once I purchase this, it will replace my Incense Rose for the title of Signature Scent. This is an incredibly delightful and effervescent rose. The labdanum on the other hand has a darker tone disabling any feminine dominance. Not really a fragrance intended for that muscle bound man whom can bench press Delaware but more suited for the kind of gentleman who wears a scarf. A very versatile fragrance that can pitch, hit, play 1st, 2nd and 3rd base. For my taste, this is a pure homerun.

Oooh lala, aren't you a sexy little noir thing? That's it. I can stop looking for perfumes now. I know I like rose, I know I like oud and I know I like a perfume like a foghorn. This tix all the boxes and it tickles mine so this one will be my next purchase. From the bottle, on to my skin and now 3 hours later it has my nose glued to my hand. It sustained icy wind and freezing temperatures, this is one hardcore fume. She lifts, she definitely squats and she listens to Armin van Buuren. Yes!!! Tis me indeed. This not particularly baby is a fantastic, one of a kind, enchanting sorceress of the notes. Yes I'm in a trance... yum, yum all high on the fumes. Happy, lucky, hot scent you. Grrrrrrr, Come to mama!

This is strong stuff! If there ever was a love potion, Trance would be it. It is a sweet perfume for people who don't like sweet notes, heavy but not cloying and sexy in a truly sensual way. It is pure seduction in a bottle. Wear this and you'll never leave a party without a starstruck suitor or at least breaking a few hearts. In fact it is so seductive that I would feel uncomfortable wearing it to work. One spray will be more than enough, Trance's longetivity and sillage are phenomenal. It's a quality perfume, definitely worth buying a sample if you're looking for something that will turn heads and make hearts pump a little faster.

So I've been on the hunt for the perfect rose perfume, and my journey stops here. This is the most intoxicating scent I've ever come across. It smells like a young starlet wearing the most luscious jammy rose perfume, and she's just woken up after a night of being kissed all over her body. I don't know what note gives it a slight "saliva" scent, but it works in creating something that is absolutely sensual without being dirty. 10/10 will buy again and again.

Oud isn't mentioned in the official notes of this fragrance, and I don't smell it either. What I do smell is tart and sweet Turkish Rose, praline-like sweetness balanced with bitterness and resinous qualities in excellent Labdanum and wormwood. I caught some patch but that could be an illusion. I think this is excellent perfumery, I recommend it very highly, it's sold as EdP but is actually much stronger than that, more like Extrait.

Opening was very intense to my nose. As a oud lover I just enjoyed my very first snip then go on. Actually I'm not a great fan of rose but this Parfume make me love it. Turkish rose with wormwood makes kind of bittersweetness. Love the resinous labdanium too. I just love this stuff. When I go out for a date I would wear it even spray around my belly bottom :)

wow - this scent is so sensual and seductive!! the rose develops into something beautiful, sweet (probably the turkish rose), but not too sweet and really tempting. I can also smell something dark here, maybe oud! you can almost see the good quality of the ingredients! next to treffpunkt 8 Uhr this was my favorite of the sample set!

Trance is a surprisingly sweet woody-rose perfume with an amber base. It is an unexpectedly creative composition, a bit all-over-the-place, but still manages to work overall. The rose - the main event - is lush and jammy, sweet and intense, set off by soft woody notes. I don't get any oud here, animalic or otherwise - it is just a sweet rose scent bolstered by woody notes on a rich, balsamic amber base. There is a gourmand-like undertone to this scent, and some spice in there too. I'm not convinced that the listed notes are correct. Trance opens with the aforementioned sweet, jammy rose, followed closely by clean, woody notes. There is an initial earthy, herbal edge given by the artemisia. Almost masquerading as patchouli, it adds a earthiness to the rose. I associate artemisia with vermouth, and this is likely why I get a slight booziness here. There are some soft, warm spices here that bring the vermouth accord to life. As it develops, I get a sweet, creamy undertone - like vanilla-laced florals. The resinous amber accord develops, rich and slightly honeyed. It becomes leathery as it progresses, enhanced by the soft spices that remain. The rose becomes powdery at this stage, but remains sweet. It fades to a leathery amber skin scent, slightly smoky until final fade. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is best worn in cold weather. Unisex despite its sweetness, this is an interesting take on rose that is far from the classic rose-oud scent I expected. Grown-up sweetness, featuring rose in a starring role. Subversive. 4/5.

This resolutely modern, in style, composition, connotations. No way telling whether there is any resemblance to the original Trance or whether that was even the inspiration of this fragrance. It starts with an interesting and bold oud and rose combo creating a medicinal, sharp and invigorating, almost antiseptic mix. The oud/rose is not of oriental proportions, this is not a Montale, but is quite pertinent and maintains interest throughout the opening phase. I’m sure it is my imagination, but something reminds me of the smell of nightclubs, of the amphetamines in the air con, mixed with strong colognes. The second phase sets in fairly soon and this is more herbal, quite similar to the base in the other creations from this brand. The staying power is excellent, sillage is great. Somewhat linear, but still interesting. I find it difficult to rate it and I don’t want to be too negative about it because my expectations were for a more classic, historical fragrance. This confirms the dangers of using these kind nostalgia based marketing strategies and it might be worth just stating that this is brand new stuff. As a contemporary fragrance, maybe 6 out of 10 overall.

Oud and rose combo is sooooooooo rare (lol), in all honesty this is a good and quality oud rose I have come across so far, the oud is silent and the all notes are well-balanced and well-blended. I also pick up some animalic note due to the combination of the arthmesia and labdanum which is unique and human BO like. Eventually, a feminine leaning Unisex scent with a good level of projection and silage. Edit: i did a little experiment and I put Trance on the left hand and Rosa centifolia on the right hand and Trance started to smell a little funky, dirty and animalic after about a couple of hours of wearing and Rosa centifolia stayed the same so I think Trance has a better performance on clothes rather than skin and Rosa centifolia can do both just fine. And after a bunch of reaserch I found out that the artemisia note is the note that sets off this vegetable oil like smell on skin, while labdanum adds the pungent, animalic & aromatic drydown (akin to human body fluid aka sweat). Opening is heavenly and drydown is hell loose, "innocence to guilt" she said, intresting. Would've loved it if it wasn't for the the atrocious and traumatizing after hours drydown.

Trance by J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin sublime creation Veronique Nyberg. A masterful oriental fragrance of rare grandeur. At the juste pulvérisé almost liqueur, aromatic, grassy, at the dry the Turkish rose emerges solemn in an enveloping and persuasive oud of magnetic and undeniable elegance. At the dry down everything intensifies in a fabulous way with magical artemisia and labdanum oleoresin accords. Trance is the fifth essence of the olfactory class of oriental descent. Magnetic sillage, strictly unisex. Notable duration. I love madly.

Trance is a beautiful powdery rose that creates a retro-chic aura around the wearer. Definitely feminine and urban, I picture this on a confident, sensual woman who wears makeup everyday, is very admired and turns heads while passing by... The drydown gives a red-lipstick and sweet leathery vibe that probably comes from the labdanum. Beautiful, refined and sensual with good performance.

Sweet, gourmand rose and medicinal oud. I have it, I like it but it's one of the most changeable fragrances in my wardrobe. Trance is sometimes beautiful, and sometimes it evokes the smell of baby wipes. It's like a friend you have from childhood, in adulthood you don't really 'get them anymore' but you don't part ways because there's no-one else quite like them.

Truly intoxicating but you have to like oud at least a bit. Lush, jammy, sweet rose over non-barnyardy oud. Stellar quality. Reminds me of Isparta by Pierre Guillaume but I prefer this. It is a lot less oudy. I really wanted to love this but since I’m not an oud fan it’s a like.

As incongruent an opening statement as you’ll ever get from me, despite the boldness of this perfume I found the rose to be oddly muted. It’s a quality perfume no doubt and I get the rounded creamy resinous effect, the extreme powdery, almost herbal rose and I kinda like it. I suggest it may grow on me if I wore it more but just at the minute I’m not quite onboard, although there’s a vanillic musky softness to the drydown which gets nicer as it wears on. While I wouldn’t say it’s an obvious oud note with rose it does remind me of some of those 2010’s oud roses but there was a plethora of different ones and still is so that’s not really saying much. However there’s some opulent feel to it, even though it could also be a Montale. lol. Update: 18/03/26 My god when the musky base on this dries all the way down it is absolutely gorgeous, and that’s me being super basic and grabbing my dummy and comfort blanket to go wallow in some of the most simplistic and commonly used tropes in perfumery. The here are both white and clean but still with an ambery, coziness, I can almost dismiss the top and rosey heart of this perfume something I’m increasingly less prepared to do, and just enjoy the foundational base materials in this perfume. Lovely.

Oud AND rose?! No one thought of that before! I'm being sarcastic but seeing as this scent is from 2012, I'll cut it some slack. It's a well done rose scent, too heavy and sweet for me, though. I prefer my rose scents fresh.

As a relative fragrance newbie, I have never smelled anything quite like this. On my skin I actually find it unwearable, and I have given it several tries. However, maybe more experienced or sophisticated noses may appreciate it more, or maybe it's about my skin chemistry. Trance is potent and I get little rose explicitly although there is lighter subtle sweetness on the top which probably comes from that. However, the most powerful notes are the accord which must be created by labdanum with oud. The labdanum is a dense heavy subtly sweet resinous scent, but here qualified by the oud to create a base that for me is almost faecal. On my skin it is not really pleasant even with the 'sugar on top' from the floral note. On someone else's skin it may smell differently, but be aware that it's definitely a 'try before you buy' fragrance
