Oltre

Oltre isn’t usually my go-to style since it leans clean but it really surprised me. I bought it in the set with Dentro and ended up enjoying its unusual, nostalgic take on a clean scent. It’s unique and often gets compliments, with people asking what I’m wearing. It's always a plus!

Lavender, pale rose and violet create a familiar picture, a bleached photograph of a sunlit bedroom, a powdery memory: a recurring nostalgic tale. But it's ginger that makes it alive. It pierces through the whole composition, making friends with the other notes, giving the sensation of both freshness and dried tea leaves in a wooden box, a muscle ointment, a spiced summer drink. Then a soft leather accord appears, as if it was always there. Same goes for the scent itself - like it's been with us from grandmother times, except that it doesn't feel even a bit obsolete. I've experienced this with the very first scents of JHAG in a small flower-decorated shop in Utrecht. Vintage makeup, powder and rose were kind of their topic before they started messing with pears and pina coladas. I have a thing for this kind of scents: I don't wear them, but they trigger something in me.. And so, Oltre is beautiful, crafted with care, playing by a set of poetic rules almost forgotten in our current attention economy.,
