Jil Sander Man Absolute

Thierry Wasser the magician. This scent is crazy ! It goes through so many phases, a pure olfactory pleasure. it is a powdery paradise with a very high quality vanilla sensation. The leather and the oud are very subtle but they play their role perfectly. Bergamot is superbly overpowering and makes it even more versatile. I remembered the great reviews I read several years ago, and recently I was lucky enough to find a new one on the net so I didn't hesitate for a second, luckily ! Being passionate for years I have been able to smell a large number of perfumes, chords, different notes, and believe me never anything like it. On the other hand, I can recognize at certain times the Thierry Wasser style and that makes me smile. One of my best discoveries, a big bravo Mr Wasser !

The Softest Touch (Thierry Wasser, 2008) Scentrack: Sting - Russians When temperatures were going down and first snowflakes were in the sky this was my go to hidden gem. One of the softest scents ever, made in pre-Guerlain Wasser's phase. The bottle is really special, like some anthology of DDR design. Just a touch of bergamot, violet and herbal wormwood in the sea of soft powder with some floral aspects. The base is beautiful, vanilla, amber, touch of medicinal oud and soft leather. Russian oriental. Soft and warm like a Slavic soul. A perfect scene of bobsled in the dark tajga forest of Puschkin's tales. Unfortunately discontinued, like most of the great creations of the first decade of 2000's. Rating: 7.5/10

In my local perfumstore they had two 50ml bottles of it for 30,00 each and i bought them right away. Best warm cosy unisex parfum ever. So classy yummy and soooo refined. If i had to compare it to perfumes of nowdays „dior bois d argent“ comes in my mind. Same warm cosy delicious slightly powdery woodsy quality unisex vibe. They are indeed very similar. This parfume drives compliments a lot from men and women. Best wear for winter. Lingers very well with moderate projection. No reaplication needed. It wraps you all day long in a cuddly warm and cosy cloud of the most delicious woodsy aromas.

One and a half year since last review on this gem. That speaks about how rare and hard to find it is these days. I gotta say that this is one of the best smelling fragrances in this genre that i own. I am not sure about the notes here, I get some vanilla with leather, which makes it very warm and cozy, but at the same time it is not overly sweet. Best suited for autumn/winter, but you can wear this on spring/summer nights easily.

Hello everyone :) I had this scent years ago, but I ́ve never forgotten this smell. Hi all, since it is so often being asked here where this can be found, I thought I should add that I bought this scent today (12.12.2011) for an amazing price of 1013 CZK ( 40€ ) in Prague, Na Příkopě street 17, in the Parfumerie Douglas. This is in the very center of the city and can easily be found. And I too smell vanilla :-)

I received a sample of this fragrance a few days ago. Almost impossible to find or you pay $150 & up for the discontinued full bottle. It is very potent. To me it reminds me of a junior high football locker room. It almost has a body odor scent. Think a football locker room body odor musk with some lavender floral. It has a dress sport vibe to it. The anamalic note is very strong for the first 30 minutes, I mean very strong. The top opening notes are the Anamalic( I assume the Agarwood) and leather with a little bergamot & lavender in the background. If you can make it the first 30 minutes, it is a good fragrance. I wouldn't say it is great. It reminded me of VC&A Midnight in Paris. Only because of the Leather note. JSA would be the more masculine of the two, but I still prefer Midnight in Paris over this. If you can snag a sample of this, I would recommend it. A little goes a long way.

I'm a huge fan of the original Jil Sander Man fragrance, so to find out that she released an intense version of this amazing fragrance I jumped at the chance to sample this fragrance, my only issue is this is one hell of a hard fragrance to find, but I finally tracked a 50ml bottle down and all I can say is WOW! WOW WOW WOW!! This is one amazing fragrance, it has all those same musky, leathery notes that the original has, only amped up a really sweet vanilla scent. I dont think this has vanilla listed as a note and I dont know what mixture of notes creates this but it is amazing. It is sweet, yet doesn't fall too much into the feminine department. It holds up well with the leather, woodsy notes. Anyone who is a fan of Vanilla or leather notes NEED TO TRY THIS!! Absolutely AMAZING!

I have loved Jil Sander man since it came out and after reading so many positive reviews for the intense version i could hardly believe my luck when i found this in the Jil Sander london store. Unfortunately they only had a tester in the store. If they had them on sale i would have brought them all. This could be the best scent i have ever smelt. It smells so luxurious and quality laden. I do smell the vanilla and thankfully it is not overly sweet. More like the vanilla in Kenzo amour. It lasts forever and the combination of leather, vanilla and incense are an absolute winner. I will keep searching for this until i finlly get a bottle or as many as i can get my hands on.

This now seems to be available only in German region. I had eau de toilette version which was so faint, barely existing soft musks, vanilla etc this is the same with turned up vanilla, cinnamon, leather but being too literal, obvious, like a plastic toy imitation of some real thing. Non of these notes are written in description but the effect the smell makes are exactly that. Children's idea/imitation of a vanilla/cinnamon smell. Anyone looking for a subtle, nuanced vanilla profile stay away. This is not a Velasquez vanilla, it's piet Mondrian take. Seems unisex, leans feminine, or for guys who like to smell in unconventional, soft manner.

This was instant love on first application with it's haze of beautiful vanilla coupled with a lovely citrus. It does become slightly woody but the star of the show is the vanilla & citrus which smells of real quality. The above notes here on fragrantica for this fragrance are very wrong, I cannot pickup most of them which is unusual. It last's a long time over eight hours but the projection is below average and it does stay close to you. There is not much else to say as I cannot pick any other notes as it is so well blended. It is a pity that this fragrance is very hard to find as I would be sorely tempted in purchasing a bottle.

I smell vanilla too, and lots of it, is it only my nose playin tricks on me...? Other reviews look to be with me on this one, does anyone know whether the "real" composition doesnt contain Vanilla in it? Anyway I found this very pleasant, my only problem was that it was alittle shy and kept put on my skin, the longevity on the other hand is awesome though,compliments shower in when U got this one. Nicely refined fragrance, I liked the original and found this one alittle different to be called its absolute version but its really smooth and woody. Cold nights would do here if U ask me.

The leather and agarwood is very very potent for 30 mins or so then a beautiful lavender and violet note come to the front. I detect a small citric vibe in the background but the woods overpower it. I cannot believe there is no vanilla in this as it is quite prominent. It is not sickly but smells very well made and expensive. Longevity is pretty impressive. I only use this for very special occassions as it is nearly impossible to find.

JIL SANDER ABSOLUTE, FOR ME, IS THE VERY BEST FRAGRANCE SANDER EVER PRODUCED. WHY IT'S SO HARD TO FIND...IS MYSTIFYING. THEY'VE GOT A HUGE HIT IF ONLY THEY'D MAKE IT AVAILABLE. IT'S REALLY JIL SANDER MAN IN AN INTENSE VERSION AND IT'S TRULY THE VERY BEST.

This is a very intense vanilla fragrance. The longevity is awesome and lasts all day into evening. It is increadibly sexy but is quite difficult to find online as it is so expensive. If you go to Belgium it is available in most perfume shops.

I love it. Nice scent in top notes, warm and light scent in base notes. NICE !
