Simply Jil Sander Touch of Violet

The best among the Jil Sander Art of Layering collection as this one can be worn alone as fragrance. First off its clean and bracing with violet so a lot of mens chypre fragrances that smell similar to this comes to mind. The opening reminds me of the Cartier Eau collection. But the violet here is slightly floral and barley hints at sweetness so also think a little of Balencigia Paris for Women. Overall this clean and bracing and fresh with a hint of purple flowers. I don't get much leather at all, which isn't really needed here. This is perfectly unisex as anyone will smell good with this on. Can be good for the workplace but would not feel out of place for a night out. Jil Sander usually produces quality juice and this is no different, so a big thumbs up for Simply Touch of Violet. Worth getting but hard to find.

I really enjoy this. It reminded me of a perfume I know well and it finally came to me. It's very much like a female version of Fahrenheit. The violets , the leather and the ozonic feel is just like Fahrenheit. Geez I am now looking at the notes and it's basically a simpler version of Fahrenheit. It has the identical notes but not as many. But all the notes that are in JS are in Fahrenheit. Right from the lime and mandarin ,violet leaves and violet flower ,leather patchouli and musk. Great scent. Fresh violets with an ozonic feel and a musky leather patch base. Very much enjoying this. Has a classic feel , it's a touch lighter and sweeter than Fahrenheit and not as complex .

Okay, now I found my perfect fragrance, thank you Fragrantica and good bye! (Lol) This one was another blind buy and I am so happy right now! I love Fahrenheit and when I saw Germany's review, I knew that I have to have it. The violets, leather and musk, so soft and so smooth. How come it's so powerful at the same time?! All the notes are in perfect harmony, just beautiful! I haven't tried the original Jil Simply, and now I don't think I need to, this is what I was looking for. I think it would be wonderful in any season. The longevity is great, I sprayed it at noon, now 8 hours later it didn't fade at all. My husband loves it too, what a relief!

While in a phase of trying lots of violet perfumes, this, among others, taught me that I do not like violet much unless it is paired with iris and/or rose! Touch of Violet is all about powdery violets and a smooth, fruity, feminine leather accord. Upon first spraying, I rather disliked it due to a sweet, cheap, rosy smell -- re: the listed notes, I think this is probably a synthetic peony lending some floral sharpness to the mix -- but this dissipates quickly as a vibrant-but-dusty, sweet Parma violet appears, resting on a bed of clean, clean leather. As one reviewer said elsewhere, Touch of Violet smells like keeping your lipstick next to leather gloves inside a luxury handbag. As it dries down further, a white, slightly thick musk ends up being the most prominent base note. I do not get much patchouli at all (a relief because cheap patchouli basenotes have ruined many a fragrance I have otherwise liked). If I had to take a blind guess, I'd say there was perhaps a gentle vetiver underneath everything. I have not tried the mother fragrance, Simply by Jil Sander, but indeed this layering fragrance is robust and interesting in its own right. Not one of my favorite violets, but I do enjoy wearing it for the 3 to 4 hours that it lasts.

This is incredible - violet lovers, mark my words, you are going to heaven sniffing it! Sleek musk with a prominent violet leaf/flower, and a very subtle leather backing. Intended to enhance one of the notes in Simply, it can be worn on its own, easily... and to delight. This violet-white musk combo is to DIE for. Very good longevity - 4/5 hours - projects about 3 feet (which is impressive, if you ask me) and wraps you in a cloud of bliss. I loved it on its own so much that I have not even layered it LOL! A must for floral musk lovers! Have actually bought all the layering fragrances, stashing on this one big time because I know I'll never find another as perfect, so balanced as this number.
