Softly Jil Sander Eau de Pétales

This is a lovely, soft, floral, powder puff of a perfume. The florals are well blended, but I can detect their individual beauty as well; mostly rose and cherry blossom, but mimosa weaving in and out in the background. It's not usual for a floral perfume to be cozy or comforting, as sweeter or more gourmand scents tend to fill that niche, but this one is an exception. It manages to be fresh, feminine, comforting, fluffy, and uplifting at the same time. While it is not the same, if you love and miss the original Love, Chloe, which is very hard to find now (as well as very expensive), this is in a similar genre and may just fill that fresh, powdery floral vibe for you.

Creamy, airy, gentle - this fragrance is truly a masterpiece. The rose is very natural and soft. Even someone who generally avoids rose scents will not be bothered by this rose note. In combination with the rice and the jasmine flower, this results in a cultivated feminine fragrance that does not run the risk of being generic. I've gotten many, many compliments for this one and so far I have not encountered another perfume that has a similar smell.

The opening is fresh, almost sparkly - this is when I can really distinguish the cherry blossom. Then is quickly settles into a beautifully delicate powdery rose. Musk is very subtle but definitely there. Wonderfully sophisticated scent, I don't get any sweetness, which in my case is a plus. Sadly longevity is almost non existent unless you spray really a lot. Love the scent but the performance means I most likely will not repurchase.

This one is just gorgeous. In some ways it reminds me of Lacoste woman. It's very soft and gentle and feminine. All the notes on the side bar are accurate. I despise rose but this one is very soft rose and very well done. Nothing old fashioned about this one. It's very girly. It stays close and does not have huge projection however it is definitely worth the purchase. The bottle is gorgeous as well.

A fluffy and powdery cherry blossom with sweet mimosa and musk. The jasmine adds a tiny green scent to it. I can smell the rose on the bottle but it gets lost on my skin. This could easily be a flanker (not dupe) for Kenzo Amour or Narciso Rodriguez. The sillage is pretty good, longevity about 4 hours on my skin. If you are a musk and/or powdery scents lover get this one!

Not a fan of the first impression and first 30 mins of wear. Then, as it loses its initial roughness (meaning: green aldehydic notes - not sure if that’s cherry blossom misbehaving?), it gets rounded with a beautiful powdered veil. Love the light muskiness and warming gourmand notes that rice provides, unexpectedly so.

This smells like a very nice bar of soap. It is not very original, but it is well done. It is sweet, creamy and clean. I think it is good value for the money. Try it if you like fragrances like Rose Goldea or Christina Aguilera Unforgettable.

Wearing this in hot weather I realise that is has a similar dry down to the original Softly. I.e musk and vanilla. I know vanilla isn’t listed but I’m pretty sure there is some in the base. Yes the rice can make it smooth and creamy (which it is!) but I’m fussy about vanilla so I notice it and this smells like a gentle vanilla in the dry down. St first spray it’s a bit sharp and you get a powdery rose - modern rose, not an old fashioned one. But after a few minutes this becomes a cherry blossom perfume. A natural, light, cherry blossom. It’s sweet and gentle and so so pretty. In high heat the sweet and creamy base comes through quite quickly but in winter it retains a bit more of the natural cherry blossom scent for longer. In spring this is spring blossom, fresh, delicate and bright. In summer this is petals and vanilla, a very cosy and comforting smell.

To me, it smells like Kenzo Flower. I'm not fan of the rosy scents- it's almost borderline tolerable for someone like me, creamy, light, the rose kind of wears off but still lingers in the back.

This is a truly lovely fragrance, Softly petales is the perfect name a very pretty lightly floral and lightly musky fragrance, it settles to a beautiful perfume ...but sadly it fades and is gone so quickly. If this could be captured in a lasting fragrance it would be perfection. I do not get the Kenzo flower vibe, or Fleur Musc by Narciso just because they are all floral there is a distinct difference between them on my skin, softly is creamy, floral, soft that settles around you like a gorgeous comfort blanket. Good bedtime spray. Flowers is strong and quite powerful and a little more harsh, none of the creamy, dreaminess of Softly and Fleur Musc just smells completly different to me.

Glad I held on to this. Purchased in the summer (Las Vegas) didn't like it too soapy. Tried it in Fall and it is just as the bottle looks: powdery, slightly sweet, very nice. I am keeping it! The cooler the weather the better this is on my skin.

This is a really pretty scent that makes me think of rose petals scattered on a tablescape, or a platter. It's soft, fluffy and alluring. However, I will warn folks that have sensitivities to ambroxan that this may not be a good choice for you.

This smells shockingly similar on me to Quelques Fleurs Royale by Houbigant. I like the slight cherry to this though, and the price is a lot easier to swallow. I preferred Serene, but this is still pretty ok.

Can someone who has owned this perfume for a while tell me if it gets stronger over time with maceration and/or if the ambroxan becomes less noticeable?
