Strictly Jil Sander Fresh

WHERE IS THE VIOLET? Here in this juice. Not in the note listing though sorry. This has been another great blind buy and though I had my reservations based on some comments, I can now easily decode the scent and to help other potential buyers I'll try to reference other known fragrances per each aspect I can describe, as I always do. First things first, this is not strictly fresh, this is strictly musky, vetiver-woody violet and violet leaf scent. The freshness I gather is not a bright yellow citrus or vibrant green aromatic type, but more of a floral, gray, pale purple freshness. Almost dewy. The reference point for this kind of violet accord is surely Armani He/Lui and 212 Men, perhaps Kenzo Power too. Though this is brighter. Citruses are in a supporting/lifting role as opposed to a punchy zest effect. I have used Bvlgari Man Extreme some 10 years ago and though this scent instantly evoked some memories of it, I can't conclude whether they are a close match or not...But it def evoked something similar which I have not seen in any other fragrance, designer or niche, until this one. I used to enjoy Bvlgari Man Extreme for its genius simplicity and was regretting going through my bottle so fast. I think this one will ease my cravings. Back to the scent; below the bright, purple, musky violet layer, the vetiver woody base provides a certain noise (in terms of photography), if I make any sense. There is a certain woody texture contrasting the mellow violet accord, and soon after the quick top evades, this violet (ionones) over vetiver is what we are left with. Very good fragrance, but can see it may be disappointing depending on what you expect purely by bottle design/color and the name. Good value for money too.

This is soooooo good. Sadly it’s discontinued so I’m stocking up for next summers. Classy fresh take on strictly, also discontinued and adorable. Sophisticated hot wheather scent, not your usual freshie, for a man with style. Office safe, quit long lasting, reminds me of nothing ☺️. You can’t go wrong, so try it if you get the chance.

Reminds me a little bit of Dior Homme but for 1/3 of the price. Buyed together with Sun summer edition and I’m not regretting this.

This one is surely different from what I've been sampling lately. The strongest note here is Suede, which is an animalic soft leather-woody note. To my nose it's followed in potency order patchouli and neroli. I am not smelling any incense notes and just a faint vetiver, but I do smell a big chunk of musks that isn't accounted for in the note description. The opening gives a clean, transparent effect with the soft cardamom and citruses, but these fade too soon to a linear patchouli-vetiver-suede woody base that is uncommon, not mass appealing, not a blind buy, but for me it's workplace wearable, original and yes, fresh in it's own way even for an animalic, earthy scent. Naming this "fresh" though clashes with the color and name of the juice, but makes sense if this was the freshest of the flankers in the JL "Strictly" line (I can't attest). Got 60ml of this for 13€ online, while it's flankers cost 3 times as much, so I'll wait before I scoop those. The presentation is great, one of the prettiest bottles in my collection, thick glass, heavy plastic top. The performance is moderate lasting only 3-4h on skin but I can smell it easily 24h later on paper and clothes. Suederal-musks-vetivers are oily, heavy molecules that won't lift much from the skin and won't project much so nothing unexpected here, esp. at EDT concentration.

Fresh? Citrus? What? Earthy, heavy scent. Absolutely tacky dozen. Ugh.

According to company official notes pyramid there's deer skin in base notes, not just regular suede. You probably should avoid wearing it if you live in suburbs or walking in the woods during mating season. LOL Most of Jil Sander offerings for men in last 2 decades were pleasant but with poor longevity and projection. Two previous offerings from Strictly Jil line have a bit improved performance. I'm curious to try this one. Will I have "Oh deer!..." comments?

Thank you for the suggestion genny17, of the listings on there, none say they ship to the US. I tried to ask. Hopefully something will come along.

Can someone tell me where to get this in the US or who will ship to the US?

Check eBay germany, I have found some Sanders fragrances there..
