Sun Men Lavender & Vetiver

uplifting, semi-sweet, optimistic, but very very mild. nice calming bottle design and colours. 5/10

A green slightly bitter juice, vetiver is there with a slight Lavender presence. No eucalyptus or rosemary, I thought this would be creamier or more aromatic but it is really almost an Eau de Cologne in the vibe I get. Fresh and uplifting with a slight bitterness, perfect for really hot days, the packaging is beautiful, the shade of blue used is really relaxing and pleasing to the eye.

I like lavender and I like vetiver, perhaps even the combination but not in this scent. It's blended poorly and and the vetiver is a bit too sharp and sour, in an unnatural way. Blind buy, less than 20 euros I think so no regrets really.

A good all Summer freshie that's also a great cheapie if you get it at the right, low price. The green notes - rosemary and eucalyptus leaf - stay front & center while the lavender sits in the backdrop like heavy drapes. The Vetiver is the percussion in the orchestra, distant, used merely to emphasize the "Sun" in the concoction rather than to loudly herald it presence. This is where the original Jil Sander Sun Men, with its Nivea bronzer notes, is recalled, a distant echo of a first day at the beach, early in the season, very much in the Mediterranean.
