Over the years, Sunlight went from a like to a love for me. The more I wear it, the more I appreciate the fact that it is a zesty and refreshing fragrance with decent sillage and staying power, but without any harsh musky notes. The listed Ambroxan and musk are not overdosed and blend nicely into the composition. Honestly, one of the better summer fragrances out there that provide longevity without sharpness. The style reminds me of fragrances that were popular in the early 2000s.

Imagine yourself sunbathing on the beach. There's sea salt on your skin, your drink by your side, and this exquisite, light and refreshing scent envelops you. Some might call it generic, but generic doesn't always mean bad. This scent was clearly created to evoke pure summer bliss. Only catch is that I can't imagine wearing it outside of a summer dress or swimsuit. But as its name suggests, it truly is the perfect summer fragrance.

I was mistakenly sent this instead of Simply Poudrée, but I'm so glad it happened, because I love this. To me this perfume is like the smell of skin after being on a sun all day. But it's sophisticated, fresh and warm at the same time. Perfect for late spring/summer days.

I have tried it today and need to say that I really enjoyed it. It opens with a fresh, sparkling scent and with a time it develops as a bright sunny floral composition. There is something that reminds me of shampoo. High quality shower gel or some bath product. Normally I dislike soapy elements in perfumes but I truly don't mind that in here. It makes it effortless and makes you feel super "clean" and fresh. With one word it is LUMINOUS! Nothing super unique. There are some similar fragrances to this but I still find SUNLIGHT amazing. This is the scent that is perfect to wear to work everyday. It is not boring. It is not cloying. Fun, sunny and easy to wear. Very affordable so you don't have to worry to "save" it for a special occasion. Lately Jil Sander has been releasing quite a few interesting perfumes and quickly becomes my favourite designer brand!

Jil Sander fragrances don't seem to be widely available in the U.S. so I was happy to find a bottle of this. I love Sun and No. 4 and have really wanted to try something new from this designer. The bottle is very pretty and appropriate for this fragrance. Sunlight is a fresh and citrusy floral that radiates warmth at the same time. Grapefruit, peony, and orange blossom are the main notes with ambroxan in the base. The ambroxan provides the sunkissed feel to this lovely perfume. Perfect for summer. Very nice!

This is very likeable and light, perfect for spring and summer - daytime (too light for the night) I think it has that distinct Nathalie Lorson elegance and quality stamp. It is a very wise decision to put Susan Sarandon as face of this perfume. It is a fresh citrussy and sunny composition with medium longevity and light to medium sillage (for me). You cannot offend anyone with this scent, perfect for gifting too, but I keep mine because I like it :)

The initial blast of grapefruit reminded me of the original Dior Addict Shine, which used to be my favourite (no longer in production, not for a long time now). This does not have the cedar note but it is a close enough sister, so I'll buy. It's a happy and personable scent, very feminine and elegant too. Last longer than scents with similar note profile.

Easy to wear happy fruity-solar-citrus. It reminds me of Boucheron Quatre but it's much more rounded and creamy than Quatre. A like.

From the reviews and the 'people who liked this also' section, I thought I would like this. Unfortunately for me it is too similar to several others. It is almost identical to Vera Wang Truly Pink, and very similar to Eternity Moment and Boss Jour Pour Femme. If you like all of those, you will definitely like this. I don't think this is like Light Blue at all, because the citrus category disappears after only a few minutes, and falls very confidently into the floral category. For me this is a good balance of Peony and Orange Blossom with a hint of Jasmine. It has a light musk dry down that is missing from Truly Pink. The creaminess comes from the floral blend, not so much from the musk. The musk is a more powdery musk mix. I don't get any cedar. I think I would have liked it more if the grapefruit, jasmine, and cedar were more prominent, to my nose those 3 notes are the least prominent. To me this is a skin scent for an elegant woman over 25. It's a safe gift and great value for money, on Amazon UK and often in TK Maxx.

I tried got a few Jil Sander scents in the mail today, and I found this one my least favourite. It just smells of Grapefruit and muted peony. This isn't a bad combination, but I also tried MiuMiu's head in the clouds today that has the same Peony focus, but has Rhubarb instead of Grapefruit that leads to a novel scent with layers. I don't like it or dislike it, I'm just happy it was a cheap experiment and my aunts will probably be happy to take it when I do my bi-annual perfume clean up (I bring a bag of stuff I want to move on and they can take what they want). It smells like something a girl into Versace Bright Crystal would wear.

This was a blind buy, after reading the reviews. I wear Sun of Jil Sander many years now an i was hoping for a perfume of similar intense and uniqueness. But no... this was a great disappointment and a loss of money. This for me was a boring citrus based note fresh perfume very much similar to Cheap and Chic by Moschino anai Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana that you can wearing it at the gym ao similar activities.

Should I describe it with one word? Failure. Sadly. I will explain why so it will be longer text. Skip if not interested. Thank you. Sander I meet first time with Sun. Which is in my nose and opinion a masterpiece and a must have trough my grown up life. Starting, when I was 13 years old. Older bottle the better. So yes, Sander delivered already. Complex, interesting and definitely historical move with Pierre Bourdon. I don't understand why she allowed herself endless rows od Sun. I could understand for example the wish to give Sun version to males, rest I can't accept or understand. Except greed and money making. Is Sunlight part of that? I doubt. I think here she wanted something else. An add to Sun heritage. Did it work? In parfumery sense? No. Did it work in composition sense? No. So why I am writing this? Because I notice something that did got my attention. The potential of this in my opinion unfinished scent. It's not finished. I can guess why is like that. Is it parfumer failure? Maybe. If Nathalie Lorson didn't push it hard enough to get the quality or something else went wrong. Because Natalie did deliver some let's say good perfumes (I wrote 2 reviews about her parfumés), here, pardon, Sunlight is not rounded or finished scent. Did she wanted that? Possibly. If she did. It doesn't work. This time I won't write about what Sunlight should present I will stick to what we have. Top notes are Grapefruit and Pink Pepper. And this is where the problem starts. This opening is good and intresting. It's so lovely, fresh and beautiful. 3 minutes. It lays on nothing. It starts it ends. Fast. Gone. Completely. In general I dislike if Top notes, the entrance, the first hint doesn't connect to Middle notes or doesn't lead you to them. Big no go. I tried on wool. I tried on different parts of my body... It's gone. Big failure. If this entering would stay as a layer carrying Middle notes, this fragnance would have artistic value. I challenge you. Test this fragnance. Inhale opening. Try to connect it to the rest of the notes. Middle notes are Solar Notes, Peony, Orange Blossom and Jasmine. Let me say it straight. These notes fit. Very much friendly to each other, except! Jasmine overpower them all. It should be surpresed under orange blossom. Here the whole composition gets silage that is radiating much, modern, fresh, nice and too much. Base notes are Musk, Ambroxan and White Cedar Extract. Here we go again. No connection between Middle notes and Base notes. But no connection in different way than between Top notes and Middle notes. Here they don't work together as composition, but whatsoever storytelling. Musk is almost absent and artificial. Whole scent is very artificial btw. Also Ambroxan but white cedar is one dominating the base. And cedar in general is very very delicate as fragnance note. In my opinion a test to parfumers. To evaluate how good their nose is and are they able to master it! Here it didn't work. Smell of this white cedar is artificial and flat. Cedar itself is full of own layers of smell. Do you smell wood dynamics? No. Water dynamics? No. Is this problem of quality? Yes. While Top notes problem is not quality issue but technical. The carrier is missing. Too bad. It could be lovely fragnance for not very demanding characters (I am not part of that). In case of wondering about my first impressions... Sunlight doesn't pass the word Sunlight in general. It has nothing to do with the theme. Neither does bottle... Or how they described this scent. That, as I said, I will skip.

Personally I love it... maybe it's because I'm obsessed with perfumes that smell fresh and have orange blossom as the protagonist lately... but I think it's wonderful! A fresh citrus floral where I smell a lot of orange blossom, strengthened by the sunny notes?! Then it becomes sweet, always maintaining those distinct notes of the perfume itself that characterize it, remaining fresh and clean, continuing to smell it vaguely reminded me of La Chasse Aux Papillon by L' Artisan Parfumer, if not for a slight distinction given by the latter for a vague and light hint of tuberose but also in this case it is dominated by the orange blossom in my opinion, in dry down it is warm and sweet on my skin it lasted a long time until the next day I felt a light trail, Jil Sander is a pleasant discovery for me I have three from this brand and they all intrigued me in different ways.

This is very well done, and, as somebody said somewhere else here about this scent, it has a hippie-vibe to it. I think that really gets across really well what this puts across: sunny, carefree but not shallow or harmless. The mixture of grapefruit and cedar gives off the faintest whafts of very fresh sweat, the kind that comes with being outside sailing or chilling at the beach all day, you know, before it turns into nasty BO. To many, this is exactly what makes a perfume great because it hits that animalic nerve that quickens the pulse. Sadly, too near my own pre-stinky funk to feel entirely comfortable with me. But do try.

This is a very mild, soapy yet fresh scent- to me at least. It reminds me of a bubble bath and the smell of nice products. Fairly underwhelming and yesterday at some point it even started to smell like those chewable vitamin C animal shaped tablets that children eat and at other times, straight orange peel. This isn't a perfume I would wear, since a relaxing bath or shower with the right products would satisfy my desire for this scent experience.

Terrible performance but oh this is exactly sunlight in a bottle. perfect for summer, sparkling and radiant, its like carrying sunshine in your pocket.

I agree with the opinion that this perfume is a Quatre Iconic for summer :)

Reminds me a lot of Tommy Girl. I really like this, an easy summer reach.
