Vanilla Lust

This scent is the perfect combination of Japanese’s taste for finesse and French’s excellent art of perfumery. Jill Stuart perfumes are made in France. Some of them are conceived by internationally successful perfumers, such as Crystal Bloom by Christine Nagel. The bottle design is made according to Jill Stuart's preferred precious stone, the diamond, in its various morphologies representing the eternal brilliant stone. All Jill Stuart perfumes prior to Crystal Bloom have a cap that resembles a brilliant diamond. Vanilla Lust's rounded bottle feels heavy in the hand and the curves allow for easy manipulation while applying the perfume. The cap sits tightly with a silver-colored collar around the atomizer head. The perfume is golden ambery, fully transparent. With time, the juice will darken and take on a caramelized amber color. One has to be careful about light exposure. Vanilla Lust by Jill Stuart is my signature scent, I wear it constantly, all the time, anywhere, everywhere. I’ve worn it for more than a decade. I spray this on and nothing can get me. This is the true me, warm, sweet, sensual, complex, encouraging, and delicious. The scent gets stronger as you approach the wearer. This is the perfume, despite my gigantic collection, that I finish steadily every year. Some people keep mementos, my big and small empty bottles of Jill Stuart Vanilla Lust are my memories. Jill Stuart Vanilla Lust has been and probably will be, a super best seller in Japan. The gently sweet, powdery and ever so slightly floral combination makes for a tender and delicate perfume that permeates instead of suffocating. I buy my backups in Japan. As far as I know, there are very limited locations on the planet where Jill Stuart is officially distributed. It used to be available in Taiwan and Hongkong, the only two areas outside of Japan. There are many duty-free shops in Asia that do carry some of their travel-exclusive items. Jill Stuart cosmetics is licensed to Kose Japan by the namesake fashion designer, who is of American descent. The clothing store in NYC has a few of the perfumes available for purchase. I wish all the women in the world could buy this perfume because that way it will never be discontinued. Kose Japan has been expanding in North America a lot over the past 3 years, the conglomerate encompasses more than a handful of luxury beauty and self-care brands that are now available for online purchasing. The best way to find your own bottle is to google the brand followed by your own location to find out if the official website can ship to your country.

This was the one and only perfume that I fell in love with. I never really cared about perfumes before smelling this at the Jill Stuart store many years ago. Smells like a luxurious vanilla-coconut-caramel cookie? I'm terrible at describing.. It's so warm, snuggly and comforting yet it's not too sweet that you'll get sick of it. I feel it's grown up and sophisticated than your generic vanillas and it makes me feel sexy too. It would linger on me for so long, melting in my skin. I'm still sad that they stopped selling this so quickly and then years later came back with a reformulated one that is just not the same in my opinion. The new smells watered down and is not the delicious rich scent that I loved. The journey of finding the next love to replace my lust for Vanilla Lust goes on..but I will never forget it!

I bought this in duty-free Asia years ago, As I was a fan of Jill’s cosmetic line. it is my most complimented vanilla scent. It is a rich decadent vanilla, with depth and complexity in the background so that it’s not so linear. Absolutely tantalizing , and even more complimented than my Comptoir sud Pacific, which tends to go more foodie. unfortunately, after 8+ years, the fragrance has turned, and all of a sudden smells like nothing. I have Dior and Chanel fragrances the same age and they have lasted with very little changed to the notes. Thus I have to say there is a quality issue with the Jill Stuart. It is just not simply the caliber of fragrance that you would expect from a high end fragrance house, so just keep that in mind.

I loveeee this fragance!!! It smells clean and it lasts a good amount of time. The moment I spray it on my skin, I can sense the vanilla and caramel. It doesn't change at all throughout the day. I also found a resemblance with the VS splash Bare Vanilla, so in case you can't buy this fragance, Bare Vanilla does the job. Of course, it doesn't last as much as Vanilla Lust, but definitely worth it. The bottle is really cute, as you can expect from any Jill Stuart beauty product. Would definitely buy again.

Vanilla sweetness, slight bitterness, and a rich white floral aroma. Almost no change in scent from beginning to end.

This is the most straight up/plain/pure vanilla fragrance I've ever smelled. Not warm or spicy, not fruity or overly sweet. A little floral. But honestly I just get vanilla start to finish. Bottle is beautiful and smell is really pleasant (its also a little harder to find vanilla fragrances in Japan imo), but I probably won't repurchase as I prefer sweeter & stronger fragrances and it's not super cheap. Good for the office, its a very clean and understated/elegant vanilla. I think it's suitable year round. I think this would probably be a safe blind buy but might be hard to find outside of Japan.

Bought this in Japan so I got it at a good value (and I received a mini version for free with it). Don’t bother buying from overseas as it is VERY overpriced outside Japan for what it is and I’m sure there are close enough dupes that are more accessible. That being said, this is a beautiful people pleaser smell. I always get compliments when I wear it. It has a clean and grown up vibe but not in an old lady way. It’s very pleasant and the bottle is cute!

I have nothing insightful to add but the decant I got smells like cookies on christmas eve to lovely caramel.

Meh. Smells like generic clean vanilla, not creamy decadent and caramelised baked goods. Reminds me of Victoria Secret products. Maybe floral vanilla isn't my thing, very likeable scent though.

I was so excited to review this and I recieved a rollerball of it last night! I've taken all day today to form my opinion on it. First of all I want to say that I really really like it. Not quite love, a strong like. I like the opening with notes of the beautiful tiare flower, after a few minutes it turns into a lovely caramel-vanilla cookie, very pleasant. The biggest problem I have is that it lies very close to the skin, and it just doesn't quite have that special somethin-somethin' that would compel me to shell out the 80-90 bucks or so it's going for on ebay. If it was cheaper I might go for it. I guess it's like, going out with someone that seems perfect for you on paper, but the passion is missing. If this perfume was a bit stronger and a bit sweeter I think I'd be crazy in love.

I bought this about 6 years ago. I wore it one night on NYE. It was a magnificent summers night with a gentle warm breeze. Perfect night for this perfume despite now believing it would be best worn in winter. I got a lot of compliments and men were trailing after me like hush puppies.. I haven’t worn it since as I have so many other perfumes in my collection.. Vanilla Lust smells like a bounty bar.. it’s very much a vanilla, chocolate coconut praline type smell.. very foody with very little florals.. I know that probably might not sound attractive to many but it’s actually very well blended and the sillage is enormous.

Hmm.. sticky sweetness, I mean very sticky. It's quite sharp for gourmand fragrance, it almost sore my nose, maybe because of praline note?(It's like you get praline chocolate caught in your throat, it's that sharp to me... ) I liked it very much when I first sniff it, sweet, gourmand, yummy.. but I've only used it 2-3times. Bought a whole bottle, and I regret it. So please take time. The longevity and projection is good, perfect for winter. You can get it in Japan, South Korea, and some Asia's duty free shop maybe? Oh and this is renewed, it is said to be sweeter and less floral.

Absolutely gorgeous scent! Has all my favorites in it. It is soft without being like baby powder, it's sweet vanilla without being cloying, coconut and sandalwood in the background. I love this perfume. Not crazy about the name, but whatever. Cute and simple bottle with just the right girliness to it. Downside: EXPENSIVE!! This disappointing because I've been trying to find a fragrance like this for 2 years. Was so happy I found it...till I saw the price. Splurging is one thing, but, really! Still...a beautiful, sweet, lovely perfume.

This is not a review of the scent, it is a response to all of those who are looking for it! At this very moment, Ebay has 4 bottles of it. Matter of fact, Ebay should be your defacto search site for the scents that you cannot find elsewhere. Nearly every time I read on here that so-and-so cannot find X, I know that there is at least 1 bottle of it on Ebay. Also, if the item is marked "Used", I suggest that you write to the seller and ask about the quality of the scent. It doesn't always eliminate the stinkers, but it can help.

Not wild about this one. Reminds of a soft version of Playboy V.I.P to be honest. The coconut and caramel are bit too strong for me and over power the vanilla. I'll still wear it though because it is nice and inoffensive like all Jill Stuart fragrances (and that is in no way a jab, I love them!) I got this in the rollerball, much safer for a blind buy.

I just got this perfume today! I haven't sprayed it yet but from smelling the atomizer it smells like vanilla extract to me. but outside of Japan, it's not very cheap :(( I got this for like 105 dollars. So go to Japan in person if you want to buy this for cheaper.

If anyone has this perfume and wants to trade or something...let me know. I would really like to have it, sounds like what I am looking for in a perfume :-)
