Illicit Flower

Anyone calling this ordinary or generic is just plain wrong. It might not knock you unconscious like Aura or Opium, but I've been obsessed with fragrance for 30 years, and this is a very distinct scent that I simply can't get enough of. A citrusy floral, light and airy that makes me imagine sipping freshly squeezed lemonade by a waterfall surrounded by butterflies alighting on tropical flowers. The overall blend is sweet and pretty, but I think it might be the pear note that makes this fragrance sing. Somehow this is playful, elegant, and sexy all at once. It has the spirit of Gucci eau de parfum II. This could be worn to a formal dinner, a nightclub, the office, or the beach. Longevity is great at 6-8 hours. It's magic in a very beautiful bottle with a very beautiful name.

It's a wonderful combination of zest and fruity freshness with beautiful flowers and some woody undertones. I've worn this for most of the past year and it never dissapoints. It's just about the right strength for these tones too, not overbearing, not too quiet either. Lasts long enough on my skin and doesn't carry a mile away. It is not a typical standout perfum and doesn't have any adventerous notes I would say, but it can really be worn anytime anywhere, it is my favourite go to.

I am sorry to see so many people saying this is generic or boring. For me this is amazing! Especially for an EDT it has good staying power. It also has a lot more depth than other reviewers are giving it credit for. Something about it was giving me flashbacks to my Grandmother's signature scent (white shoulders) Although it is very different. I have Chanel Chance Eau Vive & I can see similarities to this one as well. For under $40 for a large bottle I'd say it is well well worth it.

I just loved is very very feminine my husband liked so much is feel strong at the beginning very clean smelling never disappointed with Choo perfumes.

Reninds me of bright crystal and burberry brit but mostly jo malone and freesia without the patchouli. I enjoy it.

I just got this one. I love it! It smells very floral and beautiful. It does wear close to the skin.

It smells like when you just had a shower with a really nice shampoo UGH I love it!

At first I found this to be just a bit zingy with a thin and alcoholic feel, like a citrussy vodka tonic. I tried it in the height of summer and it underwhelmed me, both in scent and longevity. I put it aside and thought I would never wear it. However, I pulled it out again many months later in the colder weather and was surprised to find that as my nose acclimatised to it, it bloomed. I started to get the sweeter, more floral notes, and eventually I even detected the rose coming through. It's a very pretty, cheerful scent, certainly floral but by no means illicit, but the more I wear it, the more I find its hidden depths - there is much more to this scent than I first thought. The lesson here for me was, don't dismiss a fragrance right off the bat. I still find it to work better in the cooler months, and although it does need help from layering with the matching shower gel and body lotion to boost its lasting power, it's a gorgeous, fizzy, uplifting gem of a perfume. If you've dismissed this in the past, I would urge you to give it another try!

Do not think that this is immeadiately going to be the floral version if Illicit. It's nothing like it until about 2 hours later. Much much softer and I could barely smell it when it was first sprayed. I needed to put my nose right into the paper. I can't even say for sure that I detected the top notes well. By the mid notes I can tell more of what's going on, though its still so soft. I'd say each of the mid notes come out well when you're right up close to it. Especially the rose, pear and grapefruit blossom. Maybe the musk is the only base note I detect until 2 hours in when it begins to smell more like Illicit- sweeter and a bit more oriental. But still. Sooo light and soft. Overall: a clean, soft, floral which would be good for someone who wants to smell very gentle. Certainly office safe. It reminds me more of a soapy floral air freshener than a fragrance to wear, but some people really do want to smell more clean than anything!

I really like this scent. It hits a sweet spot for me in regard to the balance between the flowers, fruits and the woods. Problem is that I can barely detect it on my skin no matter how much I apply. Same frustration that I had with JC Floral. What's with Jimmy Choo's lighter florals? I find that his heavier scents (the only one of which I like is Fever) are eternal silage bombs, but his fresher ones are like a tease with no presence or lasting power. Such a shame. This one I would get a full sized bottle of in a heartbeat if were stronger. Edit - just passed my mini to DD who has now has all the Jimmy Choo minis that I have rejected: Floral, Illicit Flower and L'Eau. I reached the conclusion that they all smell the same. There is a shared undercurrent that marks them as belonging to the same house. They are all perfectly pleasant but basically nondescript and overly faint floral/fruity/woody scents.

While I like this I mainly loved it for the bottle. The bottle is so sexy and classy looking. The scent. Is musky rose floral and so sexy. But. Already been done. It’s an exact 100% copy of Karl Largerfeld For Her. I mean. Exact. Even the liquid itself looks the same in the bottles. That light tan orange amber liquid. The scents are exactly the same. They smell 100% the same on me. I have had Karl for a while and adore it. Loved this bottle of Jimmy and bought on a whim when I found it cheap. Sad it’s not a u inquest scent. It does start off a bit different than Karl as it starts with more of the floral rush in the front top notes as Karl is essentially just a full time one note musky rose floral and heavy on the musk and very masculine. This also is a extremely masculine scent and again a 100% match/copy of Karl Largerfeld for Her

I didn't think much to this when I first bought it. It was a light floral, not loud, not in your face but just creamy and clean. The nice thing about this one is that the citrussy floral leads straight on from the mandarin, so it feels like the citrus stays throughout. There apricot is here too and it is fresh. The other main florals for me are freesia and a fresh pink rose. The bases notes are not prominent, but this feels creamy and mildly sweet. I wore this to work a lot and ended up really enjoying it. It lasts all day and, with 6 or 7 sprays, projects nicely but not beastly, for 3 hours. I wouldn't repurchase because I have Versace Vanitas EDT and I find them similar, not the same, but close enough. No one talks much about illicit flower but it is just simply a very pretty creamy floral, perfect for spring.

Yes, it is generic and boring and so commonplace, but I bought a bottle anyway. Why, because I like it, it's cheap, and it's not difficult! I won't tire of it during the day, it will be gone most likely anyway and it's inexpensive enough to spray with abandon and glee and who cares what anyone else thinks. It smells good to me. I want a bottle of E and J Nirvana white too, and it's about the same. I also want a bottle of Isabey Fleur Nocturne which I would spray happily all day long, but it's kinda pricey, so I wouldn't grab and spray as much as I wanted. Sometimes, price dictates, but that's ok. Commonplace is fine too, not everything all the time has to be special.

This is a great fresh floral for daytime wear in spring and summer! It’s fairly light which isn’t a preference for me. However, in the summer heat, heavier scents can be a bit suffocating. It’s pretty but the freesia is a note that my chemistry isn’t jiving with lately and it’s apparent in this fragrance but it is subtle enough that I can get away with this one. Personally, I’d only wear this in the daytime for lunch or backyard bbqs or something casual. It’s pretty but I don’t see it being a favorite of mine. The dry down gets prettier and is the best part in my opinion, and I’d say longevity is moderate (~3-4 hours) and then sits close to the skin.

This was one of the “ love at the first smell” for me. I sprayed her on for fun in a Jimmy Choo store. But then after awhile the scent settles beautifully on my skin that I had to return to that store to buy another one then I bought a full size bottle because I really like her and find her easy to use in all situations, going out or work, day or night. I have received compliments from my boyfriend's mother when I wore it. It lasts a long time and became one of my signature perfume. It’s feminine because of all the pink floral notes, fresh and bubbly kind of smell. She lasts a pretty long time.

i just used up my last drops of this this morning. it was my second scent from jimmy choo (i owned flash once, maybe four years ago). i dont know what it is, but i dont get along well with his scents! i mean, i dont hate this, but i dont love it either. and i REALLY love white florals, which both illicit flower and flash are! i cant put my finger on it, but there is something about them that doesnt make me want to wear them. i am never LONGING for when i can wear this, like i am with for example my chloe and my dior.

It's nice, it's a pretty floral perfume but I find it to be a little generic - it smells soapy and clean after a little while, but in the way a Ted Baker body wash does as opposed to a Dove body wash kind of clean smell. I ended up receiving a few samples of this unintentionally so trialled it throughout the day. I don't think I'd buy a full bottle but it's nice enough, a very pretty, pleasant sweet floral smell that doesn't get overwhelming and lasts for about 5h on my skin.

I enjoy this fragrance on me in the cooler months which might be an unpopular opinion however that’s my personal preference. It’s light and crisp in the cooler months with a lovely muskiness and definitely puts off more layers vs the hotter humid months when I feel like it’s just average. I also like to layer this with a jasmine lotion to really help boost it’s playing power. Truly a pretty scent that isn’t offensive at all.

Is the juice color supposed to be pink? I got one from a local perfume shop and it's a light amber color like the "illicit". The owner said it has been in the shop for almost 3 years now though so idk if it changed. It also smells Soo good and super strong. 2 sprays lasts for the whole day and even longer in my clothes.

This is such an ordinary scent. Very basic rose, jasmine and citrus mix. Rose is the most dominant of notes. I don't think it's outstanding or easy to remember. Seems to be one of those scents you just forget about. Not a bad scent, it's fresh and floral, but I am not amazed by it.

This is a sweet and fresh fragrance but I sense something in it that smells like fresh dill. It doesn't make it bad just a little odd and less generic IMO. Too expensive considering the weak performance, it is a shame because i really like this perfume.

Nice everyday scent in spring and summer, nothing groundbreaking but really nice, very well blended floral perfume. I only wore it one time before autumn but it was pretty and I liked the drydown. Pretty good lastingpower.

Zingy tart opening from the grapefruit blossom and apricot that fades to a well-blended floral. Neither the rose nor the freesia jump out at me. Pretty and work appropriate but I wish longevity was better.

I like it, can’t understand all the negative reviews. A fragrance doesn’t have to be groundbreaking, in my opinion. Perfect for springtime & day wear-Feminine, flowery & very pretty packaging.

It's a beautiful smell but probably it's a bit mild and doesnt last for many hours. I will update if i feel otherwise.

The top notes are pretty i wish it stayed that scent. Dries down to a floral sugar water scent which is okay/ nice

Nice floral scent, a bit bitter, but pleasant. Moderate stillage, office safe. Good, but not ground breaking.

The freesia opening is screechy and smells dated as all hell! The dry down is nice but nothing special. The opening is really bad, though— my god! It doesn’t even smell like it’s dated 10 years, but more like 25! That opening freesia note was everywhere in cheap/ mall perfumery in the early aughts and it’s insane that a note like that would be in a 2016 perfume. The dry down is like a perfumey floral shampoo and is decent enough. It’s not that bad but it smells like something they put out in the ladies bathroom counter of a club for use when you don’t have perfume on you. Or maybe something a young middle schooler would wear when just discovering perfume.

Illicit flower. Skin test two places, summer but cool humid day. Very faint scent. Not much to it... But, if you need a scent which is personal and clean this one is good. As far as im concerned forget the accords and notes listed. Its very much a similar feel as my burberry EDT, take special note of this, the edt. JCIF is a gentle icey fresh scent leaning slightly floral but no distinct flowers per se. Easily unisex but there's nothing manly about it, nor distinctly femme, Citrus is listed but its not like any other citrus scent i have or smelled. Gentle,light, cool fresh, no sharpness. Not very detectable, maybe good for scent sensitive places.

Illicit flower I’m not a fan. On me this scent is like fresh floral slightly metallic light body spray. Pleasant. I’ve tried others from this brand just fine with varying results. I have other fresh light fragrances I’d rather get. Totally safe, light, poor longevity in me though

Pink, soft florals with the Illicit tingle. It's a girly perfume but not in a sugary sweet way. It's subtile enough. I don't find this perfume super exiting but it's nice! This would be a safe blind buy.

Illicit Flower is such a light perfume that does not project. I was hoping for a stronger scent but it is an intimate perfume that sadly I cannot smell. I will have to test this out again on its own.

Pleasant, nondescript, kinda generic. Sits super close to the skin. Inoffensive and easy to wear to the office.

This came off as being very generic to me. First spray reminded me of a citrusy, floral scented insect repellent. Dry down is less offensive and smells like a more floral version of Versace Bright Crystal. This was a blind buy for me, as was Bright Crystal EDT. Neither one of which I'm highly impressed by. I concur with other opinions that stated the price does not match the scent. It's pretty, it's casual, it's light... But it isn't Jimmy Choo's best blend. L'eau is a much better buy if you're going for new fragrances from this designer, Imo. :)

& the winner of the most boring, basic, unoriginal scent of 2016 goes too.... Jimmy choo Illicit flower. Honestly, one of the most boring fragrances I have ever tried I get absolutely nothing- a very faint trace of white floral that is gone within 15 minutes, which is barely detectable on first spritz. The original Jimmy Choo edp and edt are beautiful unique and iconic- every fragrance after these two has left me vastly dissapointed.

There is something really weird about this fragrance. I think it’s the middle notes. Opening is good but the middle and the dry down is harsh and like bitting in a dry core/seed of fruit that’s sour and bitter and little odd.

I really wanted to like this one, but it did not speak to me. It's very generic, which is quite disappointing. It has poor staying power also. I do like the bottle though.

Probably the most boring and generic perfume I've tried in recent months.

I mainly just smell fizzy citrus and pepper. Very strong, very sharp.

This perfume comes in a pretty pink bottle and I'm a sucker for anything in pink - perfume, jewelry, clothing, shoes. This is as I had expected - a smooth soft powdery fragrance with feminine girly almost a Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet thing going on. I detected the lovely but discreet citrusy floral aroma with the pairing of mandarin orange and rose, similar to Blooming Bouquet and just as generic and lacking in personality or depth. But you know what? Sometimes it's good to have a simple perfume when you don't feel like making a statement or you want a sweet soft fresh scent to wear after a shower as an easy-to-wear scent for your day. Makes a great safe G rated office scent for anyone into perfume that works in close proximity to other people who take nasal offense to strong perfume. The citrus and rose is quite fresh and delicious, summery, a picnic in the park with oranges and the scent of rose. This is fruity with grapefruit as well and turns into a cashmere scent very close to the skin and warm soft with musk. This is pretty linear and does not long very long but it feels very good on me and it's the kind of perfume I love to wear here in Florida where it's hot and humid all year round and most women wear fresh scents. This is quite lovely. Matches up with blouses and tops and sundresses and minis. This is also coming off as a lighter 'cheaper' version of Coco Mademoiselle. Nothing special but not bad or disastrous. Every note works for me here. The fruits - pear, orange, mandarin, grapefruit; the florals - rose, freesia, jasmine - and the dry down of vanilla and musk. The vanilla becomes very noticeable in the early stages of the dry down; a powdery vanilla very pretty but not gourmand. The musk is clean and soft with additional cashmere scents. The fragrance is suitable for spring and summer months and it's a casual day wear perfume. Very feminine.

I was excited to be given a free sample of this, and also of Illicit to try. And I’m trying to be polite, so here goes: It’s pretty, but it doesn’t last very long at all, which is a shame. I definitely got the jasmine and grapefruit blossom – it’s quite a sweet, flowery scent when it first goes on. After around half an hour, the apricot started to peek out, which mixed nicely with the flowers. But that was pretty much it, sadly. No rose, no sandalwood or musk. When I’m testing a new perfume, I’ll spritz some on my wrist, with another spritz on the inside of my elbow and upper arm, then I’ll wait and see how it goes from there. If I need to re-spray, I’ll re-spray my elbow or upper arm, so I can compare the earlier spritz with the newer spritz. I could barely smell this on my wrist after two hours, and I’ve had to re-spray this twice on my elbow and upper arm to write this review, so I’ve got to say that the longevity is pretty bad, especially considering the price tag. For the money they’re asking for this, and certainly for much less, there are equally pretty (and in some cases, prettier) floral-woody-musky scents out there that deliver much better bang for the buck. To be fair, it could be my skin chemistry – maybe this is a scent my skin eats, but I suggest definitely testing, and testing again before you commit to a full bottle. I do like the bottle though design itself though – it’s lovely.

Sitting around the house doing nothing in particular - then I decided to click on Fragrantica, which in turn reminded me of a comment made by my daughter about Illicit Flower - she said it reminded her of a rose based perfume . I picked it up on the bathroom shelf and spritzed once on my forearm. Suffice it to say, it does not smell a bit like said rose based perfume. To my nose it smells like light citrus , apricot and flowers and light woods , which is pleasant, in a way. After about 45 minutes,it surrounds the wearer in a soft flowery vanillic cloud, with a faint musky scent in the drydown. Leaning towards the 20's to 30's crowd, this would be a safe office scent. Some reviewers might be puzzled by my take on the scent, but you must excuse me - after all, an older man's olfactory sense might be somewhat different from y'alls'

Romantic, feminine and sexy, but in a subtle way. I find the scent runs counter to its name, because it's the kind of sexy that takes its time to align with heart connection. It's more interesting artsy smartypants than hot momma and more quietly flirty than hey sailor. Nothing wrong with femme fatale. That's fun too, just doesn't always reflect the mood and moment. I like rose best when well blended, as it is here, with other notes. In this composition, I especially like the grapefruit and the apricot. A lovely scent for spring and summer. I don't mind reapplying for evening and don't consider huge sillage or even lasting power to a plus in the warmer months.It will be one of my go-tos until the weather cools down in mid September.

A nice daytime flanker to its parent Illicit. I was nervous this scent would come off too floral-fruity and sweet, but it does not. To my nose this is actually rather woody. I feel like the woods come in strong during the heart stage and inject a pleasant depth to this frag. Its actually not all that floral,sweet, or fruity. I think its agile enough to transition from day-to-night wear w ease. I dont know why ppl are saying this is boring; its not boring. This fragrance is characterized as a floral woody musk and not a fruity floral for a reason. Spend some time w this one before quickly judging it as boring because the woodiness is rather strong here for a "woman's" fragrance. Unisex leaning slightly feminine.

Illicit Flower is a pleasant jasmine and citrus fragrance. It doesn’t last long at all though and this is becoming more and more of an issue for me, generally speaking, when buying fragrances that are higher end. If it’s a cheaper scent I get the lack of staying power or if it’s a really light fragrance. But lately I’m finding that so many fragrances that I spray and about 15 minutes later can’t smell anything and this is one of those. I probably wouldn’t recommend it because of that however the scent itself is nice.

I have to agree with everyone else here. While it does smell pretty, it is boring. A good office scent I suppose. Soft silage and moderate longevity. It smells clean and floral- I get grapefruit blossom mainly with a hint of orange and rose on a musk base. It's an uninspiring scent and wearing it is making me want SJP Lovely, which is in the same family of musky florals as this scent but far superior and at a much better price. Edit: the dry down 6 hours after is all orange and rose. No florals.

I blind bought it because I was looking for a replacement for GUCCI Envy Me... Unfortunately I cannot say that this is similar to Envy me, but what I can confirm is that Illicit Flower by Jimmy Choo is a Truly lovely fragrance. Very classy, romantic, I am truly in love with it. Also my husband loved it. The sillage is pretty nice, longevity is regular, around 4 hours I think, but that is not a problem to me cause I love to reapply fragrances like crazy.

I tried this yesterday. If you want a fragrance for the office that makes no statement whatsoever, this is for you. I found it boring. The bottle is really nice. I would have loved to love this, but all the notes are background type notes. Nothing stands out. I'll give it another try sometime though because I've had this happen before with a fragrance and ended up passionate about it.
