Little gold flecks in a flacon that sits in a misty cloud-like base. What an interesting come-on for a perfume. But does Jivago 24K deliver? In many respects, yes, it does. Its’ opening is strong and thick, heavy with its’ aldehydes-fog and an incense-like flair. Little gold flecks actually spray out onto your skin along with the juice of the absolutely stunning bottle. The flecks are minute and on my fair skin, barely noticeable. It seems one or two spray out at a time, so really it’s a moot point. This is not a “glitter” perfume for the younger set to wear clubbing. Don’t buy Jivago 24K for that idea. There is a creaminess to the notes of 24K that remind me of a thick, thick batter that you’d ‘fold’ with a spatula instead of stirring with a spoon. A church’s incense comes to mind when I inhale this perfume. Its’ richness could be called stuffy or the dreaded “old-lady”, but it’s not that at all. This is a scent not so much of complexities, but of notes that are quite syrupy, dense and powdery when combined. I imagine the only reason the phrase “old-lady” would be used is if a person that tries this perfume is geared towards today’s fruity concoctions isn’t familiar with what a classic perfume smells like they will be put off by the classic aroma. If someone is looking to smell like bubblegum, they will certainly be turned off. If, on the other hand, you want to travel back to an era of ladies when they actually were ladies, when women desired to be women, in all their animalic glory dressed to the nines, then try this one on for size. You won’t be disappointed. This is a perfume for women who are adults, who know perfume, and know how and when to use it. This is a perfume for a person who owns not just one bottle, but rather, many bottles because they know when, where and how to use all of those different flankers. Just as that woman knows how to be suggestive. As she knows how to wear various types of clothing. Ultimately 24K drips down to an earthiness courtesy of its orris root notes laces with its strong tuberose. This is not a perfume for the masses, not at all. 24K is elegant and refined. A perfume worn to a fine restaurant, a gallery opening, a wedding. Sillage can be strong if over-sprayed, very little is needed for the right effect. Longevity is excellent. According to their website,”Bulgarian Rose induces thoughts of loving affection and peaceful harmonious vibration. Asian Jasmine is worn for blessings, protection and good luck. Tuberose Absolute is calms and is used as a spiritual stimulator.” I’d rather think of it as a mystifying perfume. It’s different in today’s world.

A Scent Of Luxury 24K Jivago Gold wears like a luxurious wedding gown fragrance, but it can also be worn by any glamorous evening gown. This is not something you wear to lunch with girl friends and certainly not something you wear to bed. This is a beautifully structured aldehyde floral with classic scents of rose, jasmine and tuberose. I find it warm because of the amber's glow, and somewhat strong because of the orris. I love that it opens up with a rose, like a rose has bloomed and opened up its petals right in front of you. Then you get the white flowers of jasmine and tuberose. It's feminine, it's heady, sweet and elegant. I have not found anything remotely like this in any other fragrance made today. It turns powdery and soft but it lasts all day and all night. It is not really that expensive (nowadays) compared to some of the Chanels, although you still get some of the same Chaneleque fragrances. It's absolutely beautiful but I can only wear this to a special ocassion a romantic dinner, a dinner party or Paris or Milan Fashion Week afterparty. If you can get your hands on this fragrance through ebay, don't hesitate to do it. You will love it. It used to come as a large 3. 4 ounce with it's own iceberg shaped stand but now it comes only as a 1.7 ounce but that's not bad. I could never buy a miniature of this fragrance. It's just too beautiful to be reduced to a tiny size. I keep this one on my dresser with my other favorite luxury fragrance Azzaro No. 9.

I LOVE this scent! Unfortunately, it seems to be quite polarizing, which I don't understand, because on me, this is soft, beautiful, sexy and awesome. I first smelled it on a fellow cube farm dweller and literally ordered a bottle that day (of course, not on the work computer)! However, one job later, I have a colleague who said to me, "What are you wearing?" I told her and she asked me to never wear it again because it was making her physically ill. I wore it yesterday, since I knew she was off, and got a lot of compliments. It is floral, with a little bit of something that takes 24K to the next realm - soft and sexy. The sillage is moderate to heavy, and it lasts. I do have to mention the bottle - I do not care for the gold flakes. They are pretty, and the bottle looks eye-catching on my dresser, but I think the flakes get stuck and interfere with the spraying mechanism. Bottom line - if 24K works for you, you are fortunate, because you will smell incredible, and not like everyone else. BUT - make sure it also works for those who are affected by your scent.

Bought my first bottle of this in 1998 at the Bellagio gift shop when the hotel had just opened. Las Vegas had been going through a metamorphosis from old, seedy Vegas to a shinier, more glamorous version of itself. This perfume and its name perfectly encapsulates new Vegas to me. First off, the bottle and stand are something to behold and larger than life. Very Vegas. The shimmery gold flecks in the bottle add even more to the experience. The green cabochon cap imparts an element of sophistication while the shape of the bottle makes it pleasing and ergonomic to hold. The juice itself is magical. It is a well-blended floral creation that is indelibly time-stamped 1990's. I love perfumes like this one, where the blend is so seamless that note pyramids aren't even relevant. It is ambery and elusive and just a tiny bit boozy. Its main accords are money and a good time. This has long been a favorite scent of Jamie-Lynn Sigler from Sopranos. The EDT is better for daytime wear but the EDP packs a better punch. Buy both.

I can't believe that I've had this fragrance for over 25 years. I have moved from state to state, home to home, and it has never left my side. I keep it securely stored in it's original packaging and a cool dry place. This is one of those fragrances that when you or someone else wears it, you know it! It is a beast and can fill up a room if not sprayed with care. It's the perfect Spring floral and screams refined, upscale lady of leisure . Seeing the gold flakes in the bottle when you shake it is still a treat. Honored to have in my collection.

This perfume smells fabulous. The bottle and the gold flecks are also fabulous. This is in line with floral fragrances from the 90s such as Tresor,Organza & JPG Classique. Big, but not screechy enough like their 80s sisters. I call it a 'wild elegance'..the Tuberose is prominent from the start, and I find it more powdery than creamy, rose floats in the middle with amber and adding the warm & animalic effect. This perfume smells like a sexy grown woman & I love it.

As a result of reviews here on Fragrantica, I ordered a small bottle on ebay to test. I'm wearing it right now, and will post later in the evening my thoughts, pro and con, if any. Thanks to all who take the time to be so painstakingly articulate about the various nuances of a fragrance's depths...intriguing to read, and to often reach an "Ah-Ha!" moment of recognition of a certain odor or feeling described herein...

*Definitely my favorite fragrance from Jivago, Is a classic! *very elegant, imagine a flower bouquet where the tuberose is the start of the show. the orris gives a touch of "powdery smell". *If you love Chanel N5 you'll love this one even more. * I imagine Rose (from Titanic) wearing this fragrance the night she meet Jack. That gown, event and year. It would have been perfect :) Great on sillage & longevity!

Wow, I have to say.....; this fragrance smells good on almost every woman that I've encountered that used it over the many years. I like to pride myself with a good olfactory sense; but; when I smell this, I can't distinguish the notes right away , at all! That's how well it's blended. It's smooth, it's clean , it's femenin and 'classy;' without being 'overstated' and loud at all. It's just great!

Just brilliant! Everything i have ever wanted from a perfume. Creamy and powdery. Got it today from a fellow perumaniac and am thrilled. 24K is the body of Seduction. Bombastic sillage. If the song Take my breath away were a fragrance, it would be 24K Jivago for women.

I really like this perfume but the dry down is sooo bitter. It's like I can taste it in my mouth lol. The longevity is quite good, stays on me all day. Even after a few days I can still smell it on my coat without reapplying.

smells like royal family and luxurious ! 👑 This perfume is truly fit for queens and princesses. It evokes the image of a royal bride holding a bouquet of tuberose. The scent is completely floral and vintage, with rose, tuberose, and jasmine creating a heavenly, luxurious floral aroma. You can also detect a slight powdery note in the dry down, but it doesn’t resemble any other perfume — it’s truly one of a kind. Very elegant and very classy. A stunning white floral. Something I would wear to a banquet or gala. This is one of the few slightly animalic scents that I can wear. It doesn't throw me back in the past like some I've tried. It's a true gem. Simply...unique. And that's saying a lot coming from someone who doesn't care for tuberose all that much. This is the first perfume that actually made my husband (who has terrible sinuses) say, "Wow." Longevity 8 hours, projection moderate.

OK--THIS is my Jivago---I just put a long post on the comments thread for Jivago 24 K with the GOLD TOP--that one that launched in 2011---THIS is the scent I got as gratis from Neiman's back in 1995 or 96!! Just wore it for about a week and like it a lot, but still think it's over priced. Great packaging, though!!

This perfume is French class in a bottle. Little black dress, red lipstick and with a splash of this beauty, and you are good to go. Already mentioned that is is soapy. I do not recommend to buy it full price.

The scent of this perfume leans somehow towards the aroma of luxurious soapI personally love it. Some might find it to have a slightly vintage touch, but I really appreciate that aspect of it🩷

I bought it because I was enchanted by the bottle. I found it to be a very floral and mushy perfume. It smells like soap. It's very vintage, the kind of perfume my mother and grandmother loved. It brings back a sense of nostalgia, a cozy, wonderful scent. I don't know if I'll use it.

Definitely unique, but unfortunately does not appeal to me. I've given it a fair shake, and have tried it 3 times in 3 different temperature conditions. This perfume is very powdery, and a has a disconcerting, unidentifiable note that I just can't get past. It's not a cloying sweet scent, and I could see how someone could really fall for this. It has quite good sillage and longevity. Even after I washed it off, and used rubbing alcohol, I could still smell it on my skin. I believe this is suited for cool weather evening wear. This one is now up for swap.

Expensive perfume that does not work on me but is FAB on my BFF.... Below me SouceressOfTheDark has it right, exactly right. This is a perfume for those that know their fumes! It's clean but not soapy, incense but not intense, almost lemony but not quite. Yes the roses, the tuberose, all that n yet u know this is something special, quite unique, very elegant!! Very close dupe is Escada Acte original. Avon/Fergie's Outspoken. Both Fergie's could be UNISEX. IMHO Good budget wise alternative. And the Bakhour Al-Rehab
