Jivago 7 Notes

This was a blond buy off Amazon it had great reviews so I bought a mini bottle to try. On me I smelled zero fruits in opening and flowers was barely noticeable but the incense is strong. This reminds me of an older elegant city woman’s perfume from when I was a kid. It is nice but not my style it seems formal. I recommend smelling this before buying it. In the 90 degree heat this faded fast on me and it was a skin scent.

This perfume was purchased for me back in 2004 by my now husband when we were dating. It is now 2014 and there's only a few drops in the bottle but it still smells just as elegant. Although the top notes listed here are fruity and sweet, this is not a gourmand. The ripened green fruit in this fragrance has been aged in rich oak and then set upon a shelf to mellow into a complex and crisp chardonnay. Along those lines, there's an aroma of toasted pears, fragrant blooms, with an aquatic roux that holds it all together. At the time that it was purchased for me, I was in my early 20s and this perfume symbolized sophistication, what a grown woman would wear. As such it greatly contrasted with the Juicy Coutures, Victoria's Secret concoctions, and other sugary tropical fruit blends that were so popular among my peers. I found that when I wore it then, though I loved the smell, it did not feel like "me". It felt as though I'd snuck into the boudoir of a much older, much more confident, sensual, and experienced woman to play among her things. Ten years, two children, and much life experience later I can say that I have finally grown into the woman that would wear this perfume. Still, I cannot say that it would be one of the ones I'd have in regular rotation. Why? Whereas in my youth Jivago 7 Notes represented the height of sophistication, in my adulthood it's merely a part of the journey but a leg of the journey well worth taking.

This smelled good on a test strip.. not on skin. I get a weird mature woody scent. Headache inducing. You can tell this is a vintage style scent.
