Jo by Jo Loves

This is a very citrus forward scent but it's not a sweet citrus and it's really grown on me. Initially, I didn't like how orange it smelled, but it's a bitter, photorealistic orange peel I feel, like the smell you get from orange peel shavings. It's fresh and lasts all day with decent but not overwhelming projection. I love it for sunny days and rainy day alike, but it definitely shines best when it's warmer. The mint and wood notes give it a maturity that elevate it. This is my only citrus fragrance and tbh the only one I see myself wanting. I highly recommend if you want something fresh without being floral or too sweet.

One of my absolute favourites. So fresh and zesty, such a lovely fragrance. A true joy to wear. Suits spring and summer wear best but honestly appropriate for anytime and anywhere. Every time I wear Jo I always surprise myself with just how good this scent feels to spritz liberally!! A classic.

This is like king of the citrus freshies!! It’s similar and familiar with the following: Lime Basil & Mandarine Grapefruit Pomelo Vetiver Pamplemousse Mix it all together and you get this delightful concoction!! Jo knows how to make a great citrus scent!!

I have bought a 10 ml travel size of Jo by Jo Loves for my husband for spring season after testing several freshies during a recent trip. He liked this scent a lot as soon as he sprayed it on his skin. I sprayed it today to see how I feel about it, since I wasn’t very impressed with it on first impression. To me, Jo by Jo Loves is an overpowering grapefruit and bitter orange fragrance after spraying. The first few minutes isn’t my jam, I am not big on grapefruit in general. But give it about twenty minutes because it changes slightly into a more balanced fresh, green, warmer scent. It’s still strong on grapefruit and bitter orange but the lime, the mint, the pepper and a subtle white floral aroma rounds up the sharpness and bitterness of the citruses. I like it better in the dry down... Compared to other fresh/citrus niches fragrances I am sampling currently, Jo by Jo Loves seems to have more oomph and richness. And it has a bit of radiance, it’s not a plain glorified skin scent within an hour, which it’s something that for me it matters a lot, since it’s not a cheap brand. Would I buy this scent for myself?? No, I wouldn’t because I have already a large collection and I have spring freshies that I love more than this Jo Loves and I use them quite sparingly because the weather is rarely that good in my country...

This has "Jo Malone" written all over it; A typical Jo Malone creation = Citruses added with a spicy touch, finishing with a woody base. This could be a really easy grab for daily wear and would work on almost every occasion. Nothing groundbreaking or something to write home about and something we've seen over and over again from JML, but is still relevant and classy. The red bottle and marketing (suggesting that Jo Malone herself made this as a personal signature scent) make this seem feminine but masculine enough for everyone to be able to appreciate this scent. A good scent for gifting.

Absolutely gorgeous fresh and fun at first! Smells like natural grapefruit not the synthetic stuff usually used in perfumes. Then, after maybe 30 minutes, on me, it starts smelling like man’s shower gel. Not unpleasant but just not what it starts like. The grapefruits-citrusy-sweet loveliness is gone and what I’m left with is soap. I regrett to say that for the price it could have been better and should last longer. I might purchase anyway because the opening of this scent is gorgeously delish!!

if you like grapefruit scent you will like this one :) (bitter and real grapefruit) it has slightly peppery and minty undertone as well. for me it smells very refreshing and uplifting :) it has a masculine vibe after a few hours of wearing it. but not ridiculously strong

An aromatic but very ethereal and faint grapefruit

This perfume starts out with you being punched in the face with a grapefruit. If grapefruit is your thing, this perfume is for you. On the dry down, the mint and woody notes come through, adding a roundness and complexity which I believe makes this fragrance more unisex. It's a pleasant perfume for hot days as it doesn't project too much. It lasts surprisingly well as citrus tends to be very fleeting on my skin.

Rather generic citrus opening and a quick and easy to forget vetiver drydown... I expected so much more from what could be considered a signature fragrance (judging by the name).

Floral, light grapefruit, lingering night jasmine scent which is warm and sweet. Not a juicy fizzy graprfruit. More a mellow flowery experience.

Honestly, I don’t really understand this perfume. Is it meant to be the signature scent of Jo Loves? Because it smells very basic and generic. It starts off citrusy, then dries down to a simple woody scent—nothing special or memorable. Jo Loves seems to really focus on citrus perfumes, but to me, most of them feel quite similar, without much to set them apart. This one, in particular, is disappointing because it smells cheap and lacks uniqueness. The longevity is also poor, which makes it even less worth it.

on first spray, it's a very strong, one-note lemon which reminds me deeply of toilet cleaner. the dry down is a bit sherbetty and I smell the grapefruit and bubblegum notes. however it's still way too much like a toilet cleaner for me to ever deliberately choose to smell like this.

I ordered the Jo Loves Discovery Kit, and Jo by Jo Loves was by far my favorite of the group. Start with a few good sprays, and be patient through the evolution of the scent. And don't do what I did - spray 8 different scents in various spots because I was so eager to test them all in one night. Give this one a day to itself so you can fully understand and appreciate it! Once I did this, I think it may be a new favorite!! I just re-sprayed so I could write this review as I smell my wrists. It starts out with blend of juicy citrus notes that are bright, cheerful, and juicy. Pink, ripe, fresh picked grapefruit accompanied by hints of other citrus without any bitterness of the peel or white pithy parts - just the juicy flesh of the fruit. Something like mint is very subtle, and just plays a supporting role to help keep the citrus elevated, like a single floating mint leaf in a citrus-y brunch cocktail. There's no artificial sweetness here, nor is there any sharp acidity like you might get from a straight up lime concoction. I do get some of the woody notes coming in on the dry down, but just enough to anchor the fragrance and not overpower the citrus. At this point, the grapefruit isn't as juicy and bright, but it becomes a little more sophisticated as it harmonizes with the woody notes. I understand the other reviewer's comments about a soapy smell, but on me it thankfully never crosses that line and stays on the citrus side. Even if it drifts toward that direction, it's more like an expensive, luxury soap :-) As with most Jo Malone fragrances, this fades sooner than I'd like, but does have better lasting power than I expected. The overall lightness of her colognes helps keep the fresh and airy feel I've come to love about Jo Malone. I still got an occasional, light whiff of the scent near the end of the work day, even after an hour at the gym. It's obviously just a skin scent by then, and probably not detectable by anyone else. But I don't mind a midday re-spray as I get to enjoy the first hour of the bright citrus again! By the way, if you're exploring the Jo Loves line, you're probably already familiar with the Jo Malone line so a comparison may help. Although I enjoy both, Jo Loves comes across as a higher quality fragrance and more distinctive. I don't think the Jo Malone Grapefruit scent is comparable to this, because I find it to be a harsher, more masculine scent without a lot of bright sparkly citrus. I can see where the Jo by Jo Loves could be unisex, but think it may be just a touch more suitable for a woman.

Smells like Lime Basil & Mandarin by Jo Malone London. I like Jo Malone and have respect for her achievements, but whats the point for selling your company and your name and then trying afterwards to replicate your own fragrances? Just let go and grab the money.

this seems to have been watered down and made soapy compared to what it was like a few years ago :/

Smells just like Jo malone Grapefruit but with slightly better longevity. Lovely and fresh, unisex

the Jo Loves website does not list mint or spearmint as a note in the fragrance.
