Assam & Grapefruit

This is a very dense tea scent. I get alot of Assam black tea for the first hour, which I like. Then it goes into a deep, heavy dry floral which can get cloying. In the dry down it mellows into a rich and earthy mixture of almond paste and black tea. It was the only one I liked in her tea series, and I find it to be a very modern scent. I like tea scents like bvlgari red tea, and this one is along those same lines, but again more modern in feel. Since this a scent I have to be "in the mood" for, I don't reach for it often. It is nice to have in my collection though, since I do get those tea cravings every now and again.

Assam is my favourite tea to drink so I couldn't resist tracking down a bottle. It was worth it. The initial notes are a fresh burst of grapefruit, a strong elegant rose note and the malty, rich fragrance of Assam tea. The grapefuit dissipates quite quickly (and I'm thinking of mixing this with Jo Malone's grapefruit cologne to prolong it), leaving a slightly sweet floral fragrance which is redeemed by the rich black tea. Perfect for work, sillage is moderate.

Like chance25 this is also my favorite of the JM tea series. Very different and interesting. When you first spray it you get this grapefruit zing and then it begins to mellow into this beautiful tea scent. I wouldn't wear every day either but agree it is a good go to every now and again!!
