Fir & Artemisia

omg i misread the label when i picked it up and thought it was "fig and artemisia". so for the past 4 months, i was convincing myself there was a fig note in there. i'm so surprised this is a christmas fragrance. i mean, i guess i get it, but i'd love to wear this year round. spicy and kind of masculine. love love love love love

I really love this scent. The first time I smelled it, it reminded me of Ani—it’s completely different, but both give off that comforting, sleepy feeling. This one carries a green vibe from plants, like the freshness of fir tree. A touch of artemisia adds a calming effect to the whole scent without making it too bitter.

Quite exhausting reading everyone whine about the projection and longevity of Jo Malone scents. These have never been marketed as extraits or parfum so why do you expect these to be beast mode. Also, not everything needs to be atomic in performance. Anyway, on to the actual scent - does lean slightly more masculine but doesn't go full men's cologne. It's bright & fresh & smells like a morning stroll through a winter forest. I don't really get leather so don't let that note deter you, the patchouli is also tame.

It's brilliant aromatic woody scent, not as sweet as Wood Sage & Sea Salt, so easy to combine with other scents. I like the smell of oakmoss, and the leather isn't too strong is comfortable. But I think the label and ribbon would be better in british green or dark blue. Vivid Orange isn't much for this scent.

I wasn't personally impressed. It's bitter, woody, but I strongly prefer the Serge Lutens version that I already have. Artemisia can be a hit or miss. I agree it also disappears too fast and longevity just is not worth it. I also agree that leather note is quite prominent.

Smells like a fresh Christmas tree. Very green, pine, aromatic, clean, fresh. Good all day fragrance without being too overpowering.

Smells like the inside of a beautiful woman's very expensive new purse.

I want to like this stuff, but it's really a miss. I read Elena's glowing review from a week ago and sprung for a mini bottle, which just arrived. I knew it wouldn't be a bomb, but I was hopeful. After all, Jo Malone made Incense & Cedrat and that is powerful enough, far stronger than most of Jo Malone's offerings, past or present. But I'm remembering now that Incense & Cedrat came out in 2015, nearly 10 years ago, and light years for a lot of fragrances. Fir & Artemisia needs some strength, some aggression. It's ok for the first 30 minutes, but quickly becomes a skin scent. And I agree with another viewer; that bright red exterior and that insipid bow don't help. They are a warning though; you're not buying a great woodsy winter scent, you're buying a fragrance marketed as this year's Christmas scent, and therefore, appealing to everyone 8-85, man or woman. I'd like to see what Montale would do with fir and artemisia.

I'm on a roll sampling Jo Malone fragrances and I was quite intrigued to test this Christmas special. This review will be short because there's not much to this fragrance I can smell- fir and leather, fir and leather and more fir and leather. Like the other Christmas special I sampled, I can only picture this as a room fragrance rather than something interesting to wear. That's all.

To me this is a dead ringer for CK Truth for women. It's so distinct I had flashbacks to the time I tried to finish the whole bottle of Truth. It was a struggle because I felt like I only wanted to wear on it certain days, and it's very linear and one note (no complexity). So for me instead of "fir" I'm getting "bamboo."

Okay odd tale here I know, but initially I get mint and dill, then within 10 minutes I have a dry down that is very sour apple. Nothing like what I expected. If I hadn’t watched it be decanted I would assume I have the wrong stuff.

I actually LOVE the scent, but like all Jo Malone, it disappears faster than a Bath & Body Works spray

Let me start off by saying, "this does not remind me of Christmas!" A lovely pine (not green), woodsy fragrance; fresh, with some subtle sweetness, however a minty, cool fresh air fir or green, patchouli leather combination that is really lovely. I purchased 2 x 10mL at a great deal, especially since this is not readily available year-round. I really enjoy this fragrance. It is not potent at all, but it is there. I feel like there is a scent bubble that is around and not cloy. My wife mentioned, "you smell good this morning," so that is a plus. Projection: 7/10 [The fragrance does project, but it is not in your face.] Longevity 7.5/10 [You should get about 7-9 hours from this fragrance] Performance: 8/10 [A great performer; attractive, masculine, fresh, slightly herbal;] Silage: 7/10 [There is a trail that could be garnered from this fragrance, even if one leaves a room the scent would linger a bit] Overall: 7.5/10 [A lovely scent that's really nice and will garner compliments.]

Jo Malone Fir & Artemisia, being a seasonal limited edition scent, I wanted to buy a small size bottle but these sold out, and don't want to commit to the large size bottle. In the top note I can sense a hint of sweet candy cane mint, followed by a subtle orangey-chocolate-like aroma, I don't realy get the fir/pine tree in this, but a woodsy herbal scent covered in chocolate. It stays interesting in that I want to keep smelling the sample card again and again (I sprayed it liberally). I have tried it on myself several times and if I could find a smaller size somewhere I may still buy it before it's gone.

Repurposed and diluted Leather & Artemisia from the offerings of yesteryear, which was a another gem from Yann Vasnier... Notice, no perfumer’s credited here. This year, they slightly tweaked the name to include festive fir, and used the power of suggestion to make you think you’ll find it tucked away in this fragrance, which you won’t. Still, I bought it because it’s a beautiful scent and you can’t get the original anymore. Also, a deep hunter green would’ve been a better choice for the bottle’s design, not a flamboyant orange. In the ever-so-eloquent words of a certain political leader, “C’mon, man!”

A bit too much fir and earthiness coming from oakmoss and patchouli , no floral heart nor top notes to define the scent , instead they added bitter artemis on dirt like base ! What a MESS Dont be deceived by this cutesy festive coral bow bottle , i dont think any woman would wanna pick this perfume over dozen other pleasant offerings from Jo Malone ..

This doesn’t smell like I thought it would at all. It doesn’t smell like a holiday fragrance even though it is being marketed as one. It’s a vanilla/lavender/aromatic/oriental old school women’s smell. Think Guerlain Jicky. Kind of a flat and stinky smell. I can’t imagine it would ever garner compliments. Very dated and not in a cool way

This is a watered down version of 2017 Leather & Artemisia, one of the scents i really appreciated back then and my bottle was almost used up. Mine might be smelling stronger due to the age. Lovely scent, though i didn't really associated it with Christmas before the note of "fir" was explicitly mentioned. Orange bow is very cute too.

Super amadeirado. Tem cheiro de floresta úmida, de pinha, de pinheiro, madeira fresca. Patchouli e musgo trazem essa sensação de cheiro de mato, é delicioso e super realista. No final da evolução percebe-se a nota de couro bem sutil. É leve, tem projeção bem moderada e fixação em torno de 4 horas, poderia ser bem melhor.

I love fir note in fragrances or candles but this was a miss. I couldn’t really smell fir, mostly light (almost weak) scent of oakmoss and leather. Very disappointed, it doesn’t smell Christmasy at all. And the red bottle does not match the name of the fragrance. They could have made it with green ribbon at least.

I find this fragrance to be kind of weird. Starts off very very green (almost chemical) and also very aromatic, think armoise/wormwood then it starts to settle into a vanillic scent but not creamy enough because of the dryness of the leather. Not sure yet if I like it or not yet - but it is pretty unique.

I get pink bubblegum with an ethereal hint of fir. I can kind of detect a leather accord in there, but I definitely just go back to smelling bubblegum. I really like this one. Not for myself but Id definitely have a pleasant time sitting next to someone wearing this

It's beautiful and it takes me back to the 2000s - it strongly resembles the CK Truth perfume! When I tested it, I was convinced it's Fig and Artemisia... haha I love it even without the fig.

Have not smelled this but the bottle looks insanely misleading, I'd expect some kind of sweet minty Christmas scent by the colors, but it looks very green and a little dark.
