Green Almond & Redcurrant Cologne (2023)

I really love this perfume now. At first I tried it in Bloomingdales and I did not like it all. I walked around the mall and asked my husband what he thinks. He said that he really likes it a lot (I also asked him to smell other scents, this was his favourite). I ordered a bottle because it was on sale and I wanted to test it again. And then I really started loving it! I got the green almond notes and citrus and it smells so fresh and unique.. like nothing else I smelled before. Now I use it in the mornings or before bed. It’s a really beautiful scent and I’m so glad I have it! Reminds me of crisp winter mornings even though it could also be a perfume for summer as it’s fresh and citrusy, and green. It’s really a unique perfume that I can’t compare to any other. Now in 2025 and I still use this perfume. I love it more and more! It’s very fresh, has this unique green almond and red currant note, absolutely different from any other perfume I ever owned or tested. I’m not sure why Jo Malone never brings this back, I’m holding to my bottle! The only downside - it doesn't last long, maybe 2-3 hours on my skin and then stays a skin scent.

I had a 100ml bottle reserved in the store for Ginger Biscuit. Finally, early November, store messages me that GB is now available and I excitedly went to the store to pick up my much-awaited Ginger Biscuit. While waiting in line to pay, I noticed Green Almond & Red Currant on display and picked it up to sniff. I loved it!!! I HAD to have it!! I only budgeted for the 100 ml bottle of GB, so I couldnt get both. I ended up getting the 50 ml Green Almond & Red Currant and the 30 ml Ginger Biscuit (store didnt have the 100ml for this). Now for the review: Green Almond & Redcurrant is a delectable nutty fragrance with citruses dancing around. I love it alone, but to make it last longer, i layer with Guerlain Mandarine Basilic Harvest and it's GORGEOUS!!!! I get a nutty/juicy refreshing scent bubble for 3-4 hours. I keep the 50 ml bottle in my bag so I can re-spray throughout the day. Absolutely love this!!

This is definitely one of my best, its misleading initially and the dry down, my Gosh. My second bottle is about to finish and it is hard to find. If anyone knows where I can get it excluding Ebay I'll appreciate.

While not a huge JM fan, a close friend gifted me for Christmas the gingerbread house with 5 minis. The first one I have tried is the Green Almond and Red Currant. I had no idea what a green almond might smell like in real life, but I do now! I really love that sharp green almond for the first 15 minutes or so and then it really mellows out to something I tend to be drawn more to which is the woody and tonka notes. I'm not so in love as to purchase a large bottle, but I do like it just the same even though it's already fading away after an hour. Edit: Over the past couple of days I've used this when my scent of the morning has faded out. This JM is starting to win me over in a bigger way-though what I'm falling for is that initial green almond. I don't really detect any citrus or red currant (what does a red currant smell like anyway?). The green almond fades away so quickly though that I feel like I want to re-apply this every 1-2 hours to keep it going for me.

Reading the reviews I was expecting something tart and green, but on me this is fairly powdery-gourmande. The first sniff is pure almond. It's not a sugary, marzipan-like almond, but rather a rich, nutty and vaguely bitter amaretto. After a while it settles into a beautiful warm scent, with a soft powdery quality. I can feel the tonka more than the cedar. I don't know why, but this feels sophisticated and sexy.

I am currently on a bit of a Jo Malone binge, and have just picked up the three seasonal fragrances from them - Orange Bitter Cologne, Ginger Biscuit Cologne, and Green Almond and Redcurrant Cologne. The opening is spectacular. The almond note is so well done and slightly sparkling from the use of the citruses. It goes on a little sharp but mellows out and softens as it lays on the skin, with the redcurrant slowly getting stronger until the almond note all but disappears and you’re left with a sweet, fruity fragrance with a hint of greeness if you press your nose up close. I’m not a big fan of the dry down as I’m not the biggest fan of fruity fragrances, sweet I don’t mind, but not keen on fruity. I have just resprayed a fresh spray on my other hand and the opening is just perfect. It lasts around 10 minutes before it gradually sweetens with the fruity accord. I don’t really pick up any cedar, and maybe the tonka is used to just gradually sweeten the overall fragrance as I don’t detect much more. The dry down of this reminds me of Lavelliere by YSL. Another fruity fragrance with a green facet. I blind bought Lavelliere and moved it along as I just couldn’t come to appreciate it. On a brighter note, I can see this used year-around in most weather as it has a nice balance of seasonal fruits, warmth, but also freshness from the citrus and almond. Although I will say, I don’t particular get ‘Christmas’ with this fragrance. I will say that I like this more than Lavelliere. Jo Malone accept also returns with limited and proportionate use, so I’m currently unsure on whether I’ll keep. I’ll report back with an update.

Got hyped up for this fragrance through all the positive reviews, as a big JM fan, was excited to try, unfortunately the beautiful fresh opening is the most amazing part, after around 10 minutes or so it developed in some cheap average drugstore smell. Do not get fooled by lovely opening and let it sit on your skin for a bit.

Sour green thing, a not v almondy almond, actually the best of the three big ugly stripey bow bottle releases but still meh. I never smelled the original release but I presume it smells the same as B4 cos the other two do. I don't like almond much but I liked this so it must b doing something right.

Love at first spray. I haven’t felt like this about a perfume in a little while! Had to purchase a bottle immediately. Absolutely wonderful

Did I get a bum sample or does this smell like CK One? :(
