Iris & Lady Moore

This is my kind of perfume! At the first whiff this reminds me of powder. It's a talc powder dusting powder in the boudoir but it's not really heavy or dizzying. It's subtle and very lovely. It reminds me slightly of something like Ombre Rose. It has that vintage 50's powdery boudoir scent I go for. I'm a vintage girl and wear vintage clothing. As such I like perfumes that match up with the clothing and usually they're aldehydic or powdery florals. This is all about the iris flower. It's starchy, powdery, fragrant, and very much a make-up and powder. It's elegant and lady like. The little geranium is similar to a pink little rose which gives this scent a sweet feminine touch. The vetiver dry down is there to give it a longer lasting performance. It lasts (on me) more than 5-6 hours which is perfect. The Lady Moore in the title I imagine to be wearing a velvet purple gown with a choker and black gloves her hair beautifully coiffured and made up. Victorian Era. Powdery. Elegant. Conservative. As it is not a loud perfume I can easily spritz it on me for the day even when I'm not performing and I want to wear something soft and powdery. It's also great for wearing to bed. It has a lingerie vibe as well. O my God I love it. Jo Malone fragrances are endless. I can't wait to buy more from this great line. So many beautiful scents. If you like iris based powdery fragrances, this is going to be your cup of tea. No age for it. This is for day wear. Semi formal. Formal. Dressy shirts and blouses. Dresses. Spring and summer wear. Gorgeous.

As an iris lover I like this fragrance very much. It opens with the vetiver note leading the orchestra, coming in with flourish, followed by the lovely iris and finally a bit of peppery notes which I assume must be the geranium. I do find this powdery but in a good way. It does not smell like body or face powder to my nose. I find it comforting and I love the realistic quality of the iris. I really do not like overly sweet scents so the mix of vetiver and florals is perfect for my taste. I think this is a really lovely iris and I actually like it better than the Prada Iris. I just wish it had better longevity. It turns into a skin scent after about 2 hours. Next time I wear it I'll spray under my clothes and on my clothes as well so maybe it will last longer. I will look for a complementary Jo Malone body creme that will help with the longevity. This scent layers very well with Jo Malone's Wisteria & Violet. The iris is a dry scent, whereas the wisteria has more of a wet raindrops vibe, but they blend nicely.

My husband bought this for me and he absolutely adores it. So I will be wearing it. I like it very much as it has a certain freshness to it. I don't love it but I think it improves dramatically when layered with Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia with Cardamon, which is my favorite Jo Malone. I'm not use to perfumes with a lot of iris and I believe this has lots of it. To me it is a unisex scent. Perhaps this is due to the vetiver. I suggested to my husband that perhaps we could share it but he believes it is too floral for him. I'm not so sure about that. Would be interested in what others think. The bottle is beautiful. As of this writing it is still available at some Bloomingdale's and if not they can still order it from the fulfillment center which comes with a Macy's New York return label.

To me, it smells like some brand of baby powder that I think about the name of that baby powder for 6 hours after I tested it at J ML counter but I can't think it out so far. But, it's not Johnson's & Johnson, i'm sure LOL. First few minutes I touched the green & floral that I don't know it is Iris or not coz I never smell Iris before (poor me) and then it turned to powdery scent that is soft sillage for me coz I need to smell it from the wrist. This's beautiful smell but something that I don't want to have it a whole 100 mL.

Iris and Lady Moore is very sophisticated and perfumey-smelling. It's well built, very springtime, to me. They nailed the spicy fresh description. If I had to describe it in 3 words, I'd say: Vetiver, white-pepper floral. It sparkles on the top notes but vertiver keeps it from soaring away, then it gets creamy spicy, but like that of WHITE pepper, just a touch. Then dries down to a woody floral. It's pretty-- but like all three scents in the London Blooms collection, it's all about the top notes, which is too bad...

This delicate floral evokes the old-fashioned dusting powder that our mothers and grandmothers used to keep in the bathroom, right on top of the toilet, where it was handy- you know, the kind that came in a round pink plastic container with a big fluffy powder puff on top- Very, very retro!

I agree w/ Arkira, there's a heavy baby powder vapor that surrounds this one.... I am a devout Jo Malone collector but this one seems a bit too much on the powdery scent of iris/lavender. Not something I would purchase or find desirable.... just pleasant in a wafty floral direction....

Bought this on impulse in Jo Malone. Loved the smell when first sprayed on my skin - gorgeous spicy, powdery floral. However, 30 minutes later it just smelled sharp and soapy :( Maybe my skin doesn't work wit h vetiver smells?

On me it smells like men's cologne....i have a small decant of this perfume...i dont love it...i actually told my husband to use it.
