Iris & White Musk

Wow good stuff!!! Nice creamy white musk with iris. This is exactly what I was searching for. I am a white suede lover ( TF) and ever since was on a hunt for a similar musk so I have a few good skin scents. Well this is one of them , if you enjoy creamy clean white musk that is better than the smell of your own skin , look no more , Jo Malone intense iris & white musk gives you this clean, warm cozy fresh feel that doesn't necessarily smell like perfume but just rather REAL GOOD :) Oh and I didn't want to mention all the same things that missk ( a few reviews bellow ) has already said so perfectly. She described it bang on I can't say it any better. Yet I find it falls on the cleaner side but yes has a little dirt in there , just like white suede , it's not a dirty musk but by no means super clean either. Like a warm cozy skin scent. If you like musk and if you like Iris , this is a pretty good combo. It's a great musk perfume that smells relatively elegant and classy yet casual,,,if that makes any sense !? I find this a nice casual daily scent but my husband finds it dressy and elegant ! And when I think about it I do find its true , it has those two faces to it. In a way this is what Kiehls does to me too, it's soapy clean and elegant yet it's cuddly and daily and comforting.

Beautiful, feminine and powdery. They just relaunched it again this year! It's a very rare and hard to find edition. I highly recommend it for Jo's fans. If you are not generally a collector - maybe look at other, more interesting editions like the new malle heaven can wait, or even Harmonist Royal Earth (my favorite combo of iris and the ambrette and carrot seeds). In my opinion Malle, is even copying the old Royal Earth edition. Overall, though, iris is a common lipstick-like powdery note and this is exactly what this perfume is. It's old, classic, very 90's or early 2000's like, nothing groundbreaking, but worth collecting if you are a fan and overall enjoy the simplistic Jo's aesthetic.

I was looking for a clean, fresh, soapy scent and found it in iris & white musc. It is powdery but not baby powder like prada infusion d'iris. Although I don't enjoy white musk, I overdid it in my teens with body shop white musk, I must admitt it blends great with the iris. Very refreshing. The only downside is that it's not so unique as the rest of Jo Malone.

Surprisingly good longevity for a quiet musk scent. The iris is very well balanced, it doesn't get too powdery or earthy. It is one of my favorite's for every occasion - it is suitable for the office and for evening events as well.

This one may surprise a few Jo Malone fans simply because it is not as prim and proper as her other scents. Intense Iris & White Musk is indeed a musky fragrance, a little on the dirty side of things. From what I've learnt over the years, musk in fragrances can go two ways. Firstly it can be clean, sensual and feminine, secondly it can be dirty, animalic and loud. This fragrance falls into the second category, something that I don't think anyone would have expected. Intense Iris & White Musk opens sharply with dirty and damp musk and a hint of sparkling aldehydes. The scent softens over the course of its development, rounding off into a somewhat soapy blend of iris, lily and musk. My ideal musk is Original Musk by Kiehl's, which may smell crude to some, but to my nose is sexy and masculine. Intense Iris & White Musk is a touch soapier than Original Musk, but equally as unisex. I am also highly impressed by this fragrance's longevity, which holds much longer on the skin than the average cologne. Intense is very apt in describing both this fragrance's sillage and lasting strength. I really like this fragrance, so much so that I have purchased a sample to test it even further, especially in the colder months. This is an exquisite fragrance that I think at least everyone should try, especially if musk is your thing.
