Lime Basil & Mandarin

Quite frankly one of my all-time favourite scents which I need to prize myself away from because I've been wearing it non stop (and the macthing body lotion for that matter), its peppy, zesty and even though the last few days my mood has been far from zesty and happy, it at least makes me feel a little bit better. My first ever introduction(s) to Lime Basil & Mandarin was in the form of a Supermarket Jo Malone Clone reed diffuser, it smelt like toilet cleaner, was very bitter and harsh which made me think "if thats how Lime Basil & Mandarin actually smells, I don't like it", I tried the Superdrug Jo Malone dupes and a few other dupes since at the time I was never able to step into a Jo Malone store to actually try anything (I was too broke and knew I'd not be able to leave empty handed) and, the same end result: harsh synthetic, bitter and toilet cleaner like. Even in recent years when I've been in Jo Malone stores, I've glossed over LBM because I hated how the dupes smelt so much, until I was in an Estee Lauder outlet store which had Lime Basil & Mandarin lotion and the cologne out. I rubbed some of the lotion into my hands because they were dry and sore not actually realising what scent it was, and I could not stop sniffing my hands, I tried some of the cologne and again, I was hooked and ended up getting both. The opening is a sharp bright affair of freshly cut limes, mandarins and a little bergamot zested lightly over the top, its so refreshing and uplifting but it doesn't end there, basil (as in the name) emerges but mixes with the citrus in the top giving a gorgeous green leafy undertone. The basil here doesn't smell like dried basil or drying herbs, its more fresh and vegetal, there is also some patchouli and vetiver in here but they are so subtle and just help to ground the cirtus notes and the basil. Longevity is great, never really had a problem with the longevity of Jo Malone colognes in all honesty; 6hrs from 5 spritzes and the siliage is moderate but its quite "wafty" rather than being like a wall of scent around you. Its very unisex, can be worn easily in various settings such as the office or evenings out etc and not feel out of place and it is for sure an excellent summer reach. The body lotion is also equally gorgeous and if you want to boost the longevity of the cologne, they (obviously) work very well together, but I've not really found the need for that personally, but its lovely to slather on post refreshing shower. Summer staple, frequent repurchase and a total LOVE!

After years of promising myself I'd buy this, today I did. I'm not generally attracted to JM because the fragrances are usually too literal and linear for me. I know this is the house style and that many people love JM becuase the fragrances are unfussy and undemanding. But many strike me as humourless, mechanical, rarely more (and often less) than the sum of their parts. LB&M has always stood as an exception because it is more blended and abstract than so many other JM offerings. I smell lime, certainly. The bitter sort, not related to any kind of dessert experience. Basil? Perhaps. If so, it is folded so intricately with an (almost) salty vetiver and patchouli I can hardly perceive it, and I do know what basil smells like, I grow it every summer. And mandarin? Yes, but nothing sweet and juicy. The result is a refreshing, go-anywhere and, by today's standards, masculine-leaning fragrance, versatile and long-lasting. As time passes LB&M becomes impressionistic and more like a scented sensation than a perfume, but it nevertheless has more presence than a traditional cologne. It is relaxed but refined, like a freshly ironed cotton shirt. I've not yet worn it in the heat but expect that its pleasantly bitter quality will stand up well in humidity. Edit: since mentioning the 'salty' note in my review, I'm noticing it more and more. I'm in thrall to my own suggestibility! This note fascinates me and I'm finding LB&M addictive. This is the sort of fragrance you could live with for years, and I'm sure people do. Edit #2: I'm still thinking about that saltiness. Salt and lime, like you get around the rim of a margarita. Just perfect.

I absolutely love this! Perfect for carrying over bright citrus in hot humid weather. I do manual labor outdoors frequently, so this is perfect for those type of days. Although it says Unisex, it overall tends to lean more towards the masculine side, so if you want to smell sweet and mellow like D&G's Light Blue for women (which I also absolutely love for certain occasions), then this one is not for you. The citrus opening is very strong at first, but after 30 minutes it does calm down a bit, then is beautifully carried over by the iris, patchouli and vetiver. The patchouli and vetiver remain all day (10-12 hours), but it really helps prolong the lime and bergamot very well. The citrus notes remained present for about 5-6 hours, which is unusual. Typically citrus notes for me die out within 20-90 minutes. I absolutely love that the Bergamot isn't entirely overshaded by the orange, and takes center along with the lime. Lime and Bergamot is absolutely one of my favorite combinations ever and I think this formulation is excellent. If you are looking for a sharper, brighter bergamot and lime with a vaguely 'woodsy' & peppery but prominent base, then this works out great. Projection is pretty strong at first, but becomes more moderate after about 1-2 hours. I'm almost tempted to buy another larger bottle. One of my all time favorites so far for those hot summer days. This is definitely not an "office" perfume, as it can overwhelm in the first 1-2 hours. Unless you have an office all to yourself with no one else around, I don't recommend wearing this to an office.

Crazy story now, that just happened, like right now. It's not too crazy, just coincidental. I was just thinking about John Lennon and I was like- wow, he was so lucky to have met Paul, right! And then I started thinking, wow, Lucky Lennon probably got to smell Paul a lot (stay with me now), and I started imagining what Paul would smell like (not in a creepy way, in a 'I like scents, and I was just thinking about Sir Paul McCartney, so perhaps let's combine my two thoughts right now, in a normal way). I thought 'Basil, lime and mandarin'. I then searched it up, and boy was I right. He wears this perfume right here, according to some sources. I've never smelled it before. I love it already, though. I move to my frangratica page and I see it was just reviewed a few moments earlier, in the perfume reviews timeline! I start thinking, wow it is a sign to get a bottle of this perfume. Sadly the reviews are mixed opinions. Long story short, I am going to try and get a sample/sniff of this perfume and perhaps a full bottle if I like it. I've always liked Basil and Mandarin, and seeing that this perfume is trusted by such a legend as Paul is, has encouraged me to try this one out. I don't have any other fresh masculine scents so it's good to get one.

My dream scent. I tried it in a perfume store & sadly can't afford it at the moment, but I find myself thinking of it all of the time. It is beyond perfect, a fresh, zesty citrus without the chemical harshness/cleaning product effect. More subtle than artificial lemon, more like smelling the skin of an actual lime or lemon. The basil herbal scent comes into the middle of the composition and sets it apart from your typical citrus perfume, giving it kind of an extravagant feel. I think it smells like summer lunch with a glass of homemade lemonade and a basil salad laid out in front of you. I could not make out the other notes very well, but I am sure they are amplifying this factor. I don't know about the drydown, sillage, lasting power or skin feel, since I only had the chance to smell it on a testing strip. Unlike any perfume I've ever smelled before, just wonderful, nostalgic, beautiful. Like most Jo Malone perfumes, it smells like nature itself.

I was once lucky enough to honeymoon in Bora Bora. On arrival at the hotel we were presented with lei’s that smelled strongly of the frangipani flowers that, like us after a 24 hour journey, inevitably wilted by morning. We often talk about the opening, mid and dry down elements of a scent, but for me LB&M smells uniformly of (or at least in memory), nothing more than an exotic flower lei - but... it’s more unisex than that might sound. No matter your age this is a perfect men’s warm weather holiday scent. Young men would do well to ditch the wretchedly sweet gourmand designer in favour of this classic and older guys? What do the kids say? If you know, you know. Add a spritz of Hermes Orange Verte or Hermes Cologne if you want to ‘man it up’

I've been wearing Lime Basil & Mandarin for about a week now and I really like it. It's fresh, unique, and doesn't smell like the usual citrus scents (sometimes citrus can be screeching) I've come across. What I enjoy most is how it smells after a while. It becomes woody, earthy, and slightly green, which I find really pleasant. It's not loud or overpowering, but people nearby can still catch it and sometimes get curious about what I'm wearing. It lasts around 2–3 hours on my skin. Sure, it could last longer, but I enjoy it enough that I don't mind spraying it again. Definitely one of my favorite daytime scents so far.

this is a unisex scent that leans more masculine, but I LOVE THIS!!! opening smells like crushed peel, rind,& pulp of limes/lemons/oranges!!! super zesty, fresh, and uplifting! if you've been in a depressive episode and haven't showered for a bit, spraying this after ur post-depression shower really hits different lmao... dry-down is unique with herby green notes from the basil and thyme... also a little woody in the base from the vetiver, i normally HATE patchouli but in this it's not overpowering and super well blended... smells like a warm summer in Italy sat under a lemon tree on freshly cut grass!!

My favorite for hot weather! I finished my bottle a few years ago and am holding off for a bit on buying another while I try to cycle through my other hot weather scents but always find myself longing for LBM. Something about the bitter tart citrus is enthralling to me, and would always cool me down mentally on a hot day. Most would say it leans masculine, very earthy and herbal. This brings me to August by the seaside, deep tourquoise water, white cotton eyelet dress, a bit of sweat glistening on tanned skin, sorbetto di limone in hand...utterly luscious.

Was a bit unsure when I first tried this one; too lemony and shrill for the season, didn't seem to last long etc. I don't know if anyone else can smell this on me, but I don't mind that. To begin with I was wary about wearing it, but after a few weeks have found myself choosing it nearly every day. It settles down to such a gentle musky scent that just reminds me to go and respray it. It seems, just from how often I choose to wear this, that I actually love it! It doesn't bother anyone else and changes into a gentle perfume that is just for me to enjoy.

One of my all-time favorites. Very sophisticated and great for summer. Lime stands out the most. Doesn't last as long as some other Jo Malone fragrances. I'm not sure how to put this, but it's definitely sour, but in a good way. If you're someone that enjoys the sour and bitterness of lime zest this is for you. There's some herbal notes and it blends well with the lime. I would say it 70% lime and 30% everything else. When you first spray it's most strong but it evens out. Got some compliments for it, though not really something for youth to wear.

Citrus is like crack to me in the hot weather, particularly natural bergamot, lemon, and lime. I like it tart instead of sweet. This one checks some boxes. Nice citrus opening, then goes green and clean. Fresh grass..The vetiver here isn't the earthy rooty variety. Gets powdery from the iris which also isn't rooty. Basil can sometimes ruin a fragrance for me if it's too prominent. It's well balanced here. A great light summer freshie for the high heat. Performance is how you'd expect from a citrus cologne. Scent 81/100 Performance 15/100

i wore this for years so full disclosure i have a proustian association of this perfume with summer nights in the nightlife district of my city, sipping rum-heavy tiki drinks with good friends, rooftop grill sessions, hot and heavy makeout sessions, and bike rides on shady streets. the lime and basil feel heady to me but in a good, hazy kind of way. i was drawn to this scent since it smells like the one perfume your grandma keeps at her beach house that you could actually wear and not smell like you were born in 1930

My favorite Jo Malone fragrance. It's a masterpiece. Created by her it is quintessentially a cologne. Bitter citrus and very very aromatic. It's very hard to find aromatic citrus that do not smell like diswash liquids. I adore the opening of Shalimar for that very unique bitter citrus opening mixed with the ambers that almost every time reminds me of Dettol liquid and for which same reason I love Habit Rouge edt's bitter powdery notes. There's that bitter rind quality that is simply breathtaking.

I actually love this scent, it's refreshing after a shower on a hot day when you're staying at home for the afternoon or going to bed. I've also worn it to church when I don't want to project, and I wear it to the gym often. Sometimes you don't need or want beast mode, you just want to smell nice if someone is in close proximity or you are only going somewhere for a couple of hours. Visiting a friend in hospital would be a good example. 100% unisex 20 sprays minimum 😅

Citric aromatic bomb as the name suggests. Drydown is kind of a sharp and strong mix of musks and woods, which I like and believe matches the proposition. I got really surprised with the performance which is very very strong on my skin, lasts for 8+ hours easily on hot weather, people tend to say Jo Malone stuff has bad performance but this is not my experience. Top notes reminded me some niche stuff like Hacivat, citric and bitter of very high quality.

Starts screechy. But I am not really a firstimpressionsareeverything gal. Fast forward, bought a bottle for my boyfriend. This is the kind of perfume that when you smell in the wild, you feel nostalgic, y’all feel me? Like you are hit with a wave of memories from the time you were out with someone you loved on a sunny day, frolicking about, having lemony drinks, laying in grass and all that. Good times. Really classy. Love this 🫶🏼

VERY good. A hefty grassy citrus that would probably give me a headache if it were any stronger, but it stops just shy of going there. Sophisticated & rich. Great longevity and projection. There's something in here that almost smells like an overripe melon; maybe it's the combination of bergamot and iris. This leans masculine, but I feel comfortable wearing it as a woman.

I bought this before a very hot trip to the South of France and it was a perfect purchase. It’s a truly beautiful scent that is perfect for warmer climates and weather. Whenever I wear this fragrance I am transported back to the south of France - and although the holiday and my ex boyfriend is now elsewhere, I remember how happy I felt with my life at the time.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this cologne. Upon spraying it the first scent that hits is a herbaceous mandarin leaf, and on the dry down it becomes a fresh citrus with a dominating edge of lime. It does have more of a masculine edge to it and although I do wish the basil would come through a bit more I absolutely adore it.

Fresh, citrusy but without it being sharp. For some reason I get saffron, which is nowhere to be found here. I don't love it, but its not bad either. It's a easy to wear fragrance, great for the warmer weather. If you love citrus you might like it, yet I can't help but think of this as a pretty forgettable scent.

This is very nice, I can't stop smelling my hand. I can see how this leans more masculine than unisex, kinda aftershavey but not too much, it's such a soft, sublte, enjoyable scent. I get the air freshener vibes other commenters have mentioned as well but still I'd love to smell this on a man.

I love this perfume for a summer scent! if you are not a fan of florals and prefer citruses, this is the one! The cirtrus notes are strong at first and slowly fade as the perfume wears on. The perfume leaves a combination of a woody and earthy scent on the skin with light notes of lime.

I was given this perfume as a christmas gift last year. I have never had any Jo Malone perfume before, but I really loved this. I think it is quite original and although it is listed as citrus, that isnt what hits me first, rather an earthiness that has moss at its base.

I agree with Cherry Darling. I don't get much basil in this, just a generalised herbal accord. And I know what basil smells like, I've been growing and buyng it for years. OTOH I don't get anise either. People's experience of this fragrance does vary a lot. Interesting.

Lovely rustic, bright, citrus, herbal cologne. Feels like a sunny beautiful day in Tuscany walking through a quaint town. Reminds me of Armani Eau Pour Homme with it's citrus and italian herbal notes. Great every day scent. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 7.5 / Longevity: 7.5

This perfume beautifully sums up our hot summer afternoons in the Mediterranean. It evokes the sunny blue skies, lush green gardens and whitewashed villas. I love the balance of the feminine and the masculine in it and how it wears on my skin and in my hair.

This is one of my favorites from Jo Malone. It leans very unisex and even masculine as a fresh and somehow spicy/zesty fragrance. This lasts all day for me with 3 sprays, and it reminds me of cottagecore. A fresh spring garden with a side of lime zest!

I have a sample of this and yes it might not last very long because of its cologne concentration but damn does this smell good!! it leans more towards the masculine side and I keep getting whiffs of it here and there. I will be buying a full bottle.

Definitely the best Jo Malone scent. This is the go-to scent for hot weather because it made me feel fresh even under a 104degF heat. I need to get a bottle of Orange Blossoms and see how it compares with this.

Oh lime basil mandarin.. how i miss you. i wore you every day in the summer of 22. you were my everything. i wore you going out and even to bed. i will get another bottle of you someday.

This is just my all time favourite perfume. It settles so well on my skin and smells fresh and citrus all day with wonderful warmth. I find it's great for layering. Just expensive!

Beautiful! Between fruit, citrus the vetiver and patchouli give a little : je ne sais quoi, to this perfume. Good longevity. Fun to wear all year long.

Unique and unrepeatable. Not a dozen fragrances. I'm always a success when I wear it. Optimum between 15-25°C. I love it.

It smells really refreshing, has that cold feeling that mint has. Very citrus forward and slightly woody.

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin is like a bad girlfriend that I just can't quit. At first, I didn't like her. Then, I thought "Meh", then I thought, "Wow, She's great!" and then I decided that I didn't want to keep her around anymore. I keep trying to get her to leave and she keeps giving me reasons to see her again. Now, I'm kind of at "Maybe I'll keep her, because if I get rid of her, I may end up regretting it later". On the plus side, unlike a "real" bad girlfriend, Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin won't hide behind bushes, leave me terrible voice mail messages or plot my death. Jo Malone LBM came to me in a blind trade and when I first got her, she was a real nose wrinkler. The scent was green, dirty and bitter orange. I didn't pick up much lime but I did pick up green kitchen spices, like basil (ya think?), thyme and maybe rosemary and something more. Hell, I don't know - I'm not Martha Stewart and my nose isn't the best to start with. Now, I don't know about the whole use of "quality oils" thing. I'm a person who believes that unless you have the manufacturer's spec sheet, you really don't know how good the source product is or how much they're using for their concoction. Having said that, I'd like to think that I smell "quality" here. There's a depth to the blend . It's non-linear and goes through subtle development phases. The orange that I'm smelling is entirely realistic and not at all synthetic. I can smell what seems to be a bit of moisture on the rind and maybe a hint of dirt and definitely a full, yet tempered mandarin orange that might have been placed on a kitchen ledge, near some spices that are growing in the sunlight (queue the butterflies and rainbows here). This fragrance is summer in a bottle!! The more I think about it all, the more I realize that, Jo Malone LBM, I might just love you and not want to admit it.

I have a love/hate relationship with Lime, Basil and Mandarin. It was love at first sniff. I wore it all the time. I frolicked, I was happy, I was in love. I ran up to everyone I met, proud to introduce them to the new love in my life. Then like any old married couple, one day I got a whiff and realized I just couldn't stomach it any more. (Thank goodness I didn't have to watch it chew.) So, off to the Ebay box it went. Then when the time came to list my old friend, I gave it one last sniff goodbye then I was like...wait a minute! I still like you! I was not ready to let go. I wanted to give it another try. So, we danced and snuggled a few more times....then back to the box he went. No matter what I do, he starts getting on my nerves and I just feel we should part ways. It just wasn't meant to be. A fellow friend and perfume lover said she had been wanting to try some Jo Malone so I told her that I had one she could have. I went back to the box to retrieve my old faithful LBM and decided to take one more sniff for the road just to make sure I had made the right decision. And yet again, I couldn't do it. What is this? We do not even have children together. Not even a shared bank account to have to split 50/50. LBM does not pay for my health insurance or help pad my retirement account. It just sits there. Doing nothing. It rarely goes anywhere with me and when it does it kinda gets on my nerves and I wish it had stayed home. But for some reason, God bless it....I still love it. Lime, Basil and Mandarin, I have come to the conclusion that it may be a roller coaster with you and you may never be the ONE...but I am happy to be stuck with you.

I smelled a lot of Jo Malone's colognes at Sephora and among all of the ones I tried Lime Basil & Mandarin was the winner. There is a very specific reason for it. Years ago I was in Greece and bought a locally made hand cream which smelled heavenly. I've used all of it and since then couldn't find anything that would smell even remotely resemblant. Until the day I smelled Lime Basil & Mandarin. I sprayed it on myself at the store and was like "wait a minute... this is it. This is my Greece trip I took ages ago. It all comes back to me, Greek citrus trees, warm winter sun, breathtaking Athen ruins, the vibrancy of colors..." The magic of that memory overshadowed what this perfume actually is. Outside of this memory, it's just a citrus heavy perfume. A little too bitter, not super long lasting and, at times, slightly synthetic. But for me it's a valuable memory. I still hold on to the empty hand cream bottle, and when I came home I checked the ingredients. It was a 100% match in terms of scent notes. Lime, basil and mandarin. Simple, yet for some reason it took me years to find something that would smell close to that cream. The smell is not identical (I still see the greek hand cream as a way better use of these notes) but it's the closest damn thing and I am happy I found it. After all, that's what smells are supposed to do: to hold familiar moments within them, to be guides and conduits to potentially forgotten happy memories in life. I appreciate this perfume a lot for that. P.S. I really agree with everyone mentioning summer in Italy. I get Italy trips flashbacks as well when I wear it :)

Lime Basil & Mandarin is perhaps the most celebrated Jo Malone perfume, a simple citrus cologne with a herbal undertone and a woody, chypre base. The use of herbs in a high-end women's perfume was seemingly unusual at the time of its release, but to a modern nose, LBM smells safe, even passé. I like a good citrus cologne in the heat, and this is a decent example, nicely composed and good-quality, but nothing exciting. LBM opens with a realistic, acidic citrus accord. Tart, acerbic lime is fittingly most prominent, but orange complements it nicely. The sharp tangy citrus accord is king initially, but the herbal notes creep in shortly afterwards, adding a savoury green quality that tempers it somewhat. The herbs smell freshly-chopped, and alongside the citrus, it reminds me of vinaigrette on a fresh green salad (a very different type of gourmand!) It is pleasant, but too reminiscent of food for me to wear as a scent. It becomes slightly powdery as it develops, and the modern chypre base develops, woody and earthy. It is a nice if logical development from the citrus-herbal opening. Patchouli and dry, woody vetiver play a large role here. It fades to a slightly musky, earthy skin scent with a whisper of wood and herbs. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Best worn in hot weather. A unisex citrus-herbal cologne with a soft chypre base, LBM feels fairly run-of-the-mill today, but was groundbreaking at the time. A modern classic, but too sharp and herbal for me - I would choose Ô de Lancôme over this. 3/5.

This one opens like a blade of citrus slicing through heat. Dry lime, basil, and a bite of white thyme. Bright and bitter. That peppery basil? Completely unfazed. It’s giving: morning rage, iced espresso, and don’t even think about talking to me before noon. No notes. Then the drydown happens. And suddenly it’s less beachy cocktail, more expensive dad on a vacay. It veers a little too mossy, herbal, and mature. Not in a bad way. More like “you better have the confidence to pull this off.” But I think that’s the point. Unisex? Technically. But let’s be real, it’s not for the pastel girlies. On a man, it’s very classy. But on a woman, you gotta be THAT woman. If you make men nervous, women curious, and flirt like it’s a weapon, this is your cologne. Not perfume. Cologne. Like you stole it from your ex after ruining him, and now it smells better on you anyway. I want to be her. She’s almost me. Just gotta age up a notch lol. Had to keep it in my collection. On its own, it’s more of a miss than a hit for me, so I went for layering. It’s killer. Add Orange Soleia or Jo Malone’s Grapefruit, and you’ve got a full-blown citrus inferno. An uplifting slap of citrus right to the face. LBM toughens up simpler citrus-fruity scents. Total unbothered-bad-bitch-in-the-summer energy. 🌿🍸 4/5. Sharp-tongued, sun-drenched, and born cool. Sweet is for amateurs.

Again, from the notes I thought “I will love this” as I love fresh, citrusy scents. All the notes present in this fragrance are definitely overruled by lime. I can smell a little mandarine and a little basil in the very beginning, but for the rest it is a good 90% lime frag. Pungent lime. Lime is a lovely note, however this note is contained in the deodorant I am wearing this season so I am often led thinking I am only spreading around my deodorant’s notes! A part from that, it is very dry, definitely genderless but absolutely a summer one. It is refreshing. All in all I like it: the only negative is the longevity, too poor at this price point. In no way can it be compared to Mandarine Basilic (i own it), MB is way more tangerine, sweeter and the basil is fresh but not pungent. The Lime Basil & Mandarine by Jo Malone is all about lime. I will have to layer it to get more complexity, however I am not a layering person as i need my frag fix and run out... Will see how to get more mileage from this one....

For me, Lime Basil & Mandarin by Jo Malone has poor longevity. It smells good, and the basil note definitely adds something unique. I tested it during an event where companies were doing pitches (a long day), and I found myself reapplying it every 1.5 to 2 hours. The projection is okay. I like that it’s not overpowering, but I would have preferred a bit more presence. The opening is quite strong and noticeable, but it quickly settles into a softer, less intrusive scent. While the dry-down smells pleasant, it also becomes harder to detect. To me, it feels very unisex, maybe leaning slightly feminine. I also think the price is a little bit on the high side (but not way too overpriced). Overall, I like the fragrance and it’s very versatile. It’s a good option if you don’t mind respraying a couple of times during the day (or applying it on clothes). It won’t offend anyone and works well, especially in summer, but considering the weak longevity, I would think twice before buying it.

This is the closest I have found to a true lime scent, at least so far. Sadly but not surprisingly, the lime only lasts an hour, and what it leaves behind leans darker and earthier and spicier. I love the opening on this, but I want to layer it with something sweet. I think of mandarins as sweet smelling, and even lime is a little bit; this is not. It's bone dry throughout. On my skin basil doesn't really make much of an appearance—quel dommage! Longevity is only a couple of hours and projection is very minimal. Impressions over time: Initially it smells like barely sweet lime and bergamot, a nice strong citrus. Ten minutes in and it's pure lime; if there's basil, it's overwhelmed. After half an hour, the citrus has started to fade, and after an hour it's barely present, leaving vetiver as the dominant smell. At an hour and a half it's a skin scent, and there's nothing but vetiver and patchouli. After that it kind of fades down to nothing rather quickly.
