Lotus Blossom & Water Lily

I love this so much! I already tried its pair, Dark Amber and Ginger Lily, and loved that to bits too. While this is very different from the latter, I was so pleased to find that it smells just as divine. I got a decant of this after an initial sniff that, while I liked it, didn't really leave that much of an impression yet. I also have a lotus flower SPF face mist from Korean brand The Yeon, whose scent for some reason is very familiar to me but I couldn't place from where. Anyway, the face mist's scent makes me so nostalgic and I love it so much, and I guessed it must be the scent of lotus flower, since that is apparently one of its components. That's what made Lotus Blossom and Water Lily catch my eye in the first place. I'm so glad I came across this, because it gets BIG love from me! I first used this today, and without yet reading the notes, I was surprised by the initial burst of sparkling citrus notes, with no floral trace yet. If I was disappointed at first, it was because I was expecting the lotus flower scent right away. But really, I found it to be such a lovely, fresh opening that I loved in itself. A great way to start the day! And then it settled into a soft watery floral and the lotus blossom finally hit me. LOVE! Indeed, it is similar to that face mist that I so love, but blended with the other floral notes, but still standing out. A little later, I caught an amber base, which I didn't expect since I haven't read about the notes of this fragrance. Still more love from me, since I love amber. This is softer than the amber in Dark Amber and Ginger Lily, but I think will make a fine transition into the latter when sprayed later in the day as an evening scent. I've nowhere to go tonight, but another time, I should try transitioning into DA&GL after wearing LB&WL during the day. I don't get any woody notes, but find this to be a fresh aquatic floral that is quite unique compared to other scents I've sniffed (not really an expert though, a limited range for now). Or at least, this combination of notes are not as common to my nose as a lot of other fragrances. It is softly sweet and lighthearted, and would make a lovely summer day scent when you want to steer away from the usual tropical or beachy summer scents.

I’m genuinely surprised by how much I enjoy this scent; I’m not a big fan of floral perfumes so I only got a 1mL sample at first, but I liked Lotus Blossom & Water Lily so much that I actually went out and found a bottle. I really enjoy the emphasis on the aquatic florals. The lotus and waterlily work perfectly to keep the scent feminine, but also fresh, and you can absolutely catch the watery/aquatic characteristics from close up. The citrus notes in the opening and wood notes in the dry down aren’t too powerful, and the scent never went powdery on me. It stayed soft and clean without fading too much over the day. Sillage is pretty intimate, but the scent did last for over 8 hours on me. It only faded off when I did my evening workout. This fragrance really did impress me, and I’m super happy to add a full bottle to my collection!

This fragrance from Jo Malone stole my money from my wallet! When I sniffed it I found it was amazing scent. Citrus top notes from mandarin orange, bergamot and grapefruit. clean-sweet-aquatic middle note from bamboo,lotus blossom and water lily. Smoky dry down from amber, musk and temple incense that combine well with its duo - Dark amber and ginger lily. In my opinion, It is a perfect unisex fragrance for casual summer daytime. Soft, clean and aquatic. Reminds me Claude Monet's japanese bridge painting. It does go well with my skin chemistry and will be perfect in evening if you wear with Dark amber and ginger lily - -which is already in my wish lists.

I adored this fragrance. It was beautifully unique with crisp florals, well-blended, subtle woods, and a hint of fresh spice. The overall effect was floral fresh. It remains my favorite Jo Malone fragrance even though my bottle is long gone. I've never found anything like it since it was discontinued. To this day, I continue to hope that Jo Malone will bring this Limited Edition collection back.

Still hanging on to my original 100ml bottle of this. Still consider it my signature scent. Still heartbroken that it’s still discontinued. One of the most complex, beautiful fragrances I’ve ever smelled. If anyone has any recommendations as to ANYthing similar... I’m begging you! Tell me! lol
