Myrrh & Tonka is one of those scents I reach for the moment the weather cools down. It’s instantly inviting — cozy without being sleepy, comforting without losing its edge. There’s something intoxicating about it, and the way it moves through its notes makes wearing it feel like a little journey every time. The myrrh is the star here. It comes in strong: enchanting, resinous, slightly smoky, and completely transportive. It has that ancient‐warmth quality that feels both grounding and luxurious. Then the tonka settles in underneath, adding a soft sweetness that never turns sugary. It’s more like a warm blanket of vanilla‐amber, smoothing the sharper edges of the myrrh and giving the whole scent a beautiful balance. This fragrance is unisex, but it behaves differently on each of us. On me, it smells delicate and slightly feminine — warm, soft, and almost creamy. On my boyfriend, it turns moodier and deeper, like the myrrh leans into its darker side. He loves it so much he keeps stealing my bottle... which is already my second one. I finally told him he can keep borrowing it, but if we run out, he’s buying the big bottle. For me, this is a winter essential. Cozy, rich, and endlessly wearable. And it layers beautifully. I love pairing it with Velvet Rose & Oud or Scarlet Poppy when I want a warm, dark floral that feels plush and enveloping. Those combinations turn Myrrh & Tonka into something even more decadent — perfect for evenings, date nights, or anytime I want to feel wrapped in something luxurious. Myrrh & Tonka is one of those scents that just works in the colder months. Warm, intoxicating, a hint of far east exotic and impossible not to love.

Doing reviews for my own notes. Batch code B83. When I showed this fragrance to a friend of mine, she said that it smelled like you've just gone on a date with a really handsome guy in a leather jacket, he gave it to you to wear on the walk home, and you can still smell it (and him) after he takes it back from you. This is an incredibly smooth, masculine fragrance. The lavender provides a burst of herbal freshness before giving way to a beautiful tonka and myrrh combination. My bottle is a few years old now, so it's starting to develop a really amazing, deep bitterness from the myrrh, which is where the "leather jacket" thing is coming from. The tonka is so high quality, and like the myrrh it has developed as it has matured, slipping into a sweet, cola / Dr. Pepper sort of space which reminds me of L'Homme Ideal in a great way. This is my favorite Jo Malone, and my second after Lime, Basil & Mandarin (from the freshy phase). It has much better performance than LB&M, lasting 7 hours on skin and 10-12 on clothes. It doesn't push hard off of my skin, but it's been noticed a few times. It's my confident little secret, and I love it. My only gripe is that it is definitely a winter fragrance, it comes off a bit Too bitter in the warmer months. 9/10.

Hello everyone! Today my scent is this beautiful fragrance, so here some silly thoughts about it. Let me just start by saying: if Jo Malone fragrances don't last that much, this fragrance is quite the opposite. The performance is reaally good: great projection in the first 2h-3h. After that hour mark, it creates such a good sillage that everyone will notice you. "I don't want to annoy people around me with my fragrance" you might say. Well, here's the other good news: despite the fact that the notes of this scent are tipically dense, rich, sweet and, sometimes, a bit cloying, it's not the case with this fragrance and that's the mastery of it. You will get a fresh tonka bean, myrrh and vanilla, without messing with the richeness and density of those notes. As it starts to settle down, the freshness starts to fade away and the sweetness becomes more present, but never cloying. It's a perfect modern gentleman fragrance. The versatility of this fragrance is good too: Autumn, Winter (although not in a very cold day/night) and early Spring is where the scent will shine the most. Occasions: office, upscale events, fancy date with your significant other. In my opinion, this scent is too classy/too good to wear it casually or at the club. 10/10

I get very beautiful notes in this, but at the same time an off putting note, like something rotten. Is it the Myrrh? I don’t have much experience with this note. I don’t know whether I don’t like this note in general or just here. Maybe if it wasn’t so strong... I have a sample. Everytime I try it, I have to scrub it off, because of that, even though the rest of the scent is incredibly beautiful. Edit: I washed my wrist, where I had sprayed the perfume. Now I can still smell it and it is a beautiful scent. The only problem is that, if I want to smell it now, I need to put my nose very close to my wrist :-) I think I will experiment more with this perfume. Edit2: After trying myrrh & tonka in a couple of days again, either because I got used to “the note” or because I wanted to love this perfume so bad, I absolutely fell in love with it, as it is, including every note. It surprises me always how people perceive the same perfumes very differently. Even more surprising than to me is how perfumes can change for me not just in different seasons, but literally in a couple of days. I fell in love with this perfume so much, I need a FB as soon as possible.

Mr. Sillage hit the nail on the head with this one. Some people just fall in love with this gem and think this was THE fragrance made just for them! What a knockout of a fragrance!! Top Note: Lavender Heart Note: Omumbiri Myrrh Base Note: Tonka Bean The intense line from Jo Malone has beastly performance compared to their clear bottle cologne line. Myrrh and Tonka IMO being it's massive gem with Dark Amber Ginger Lily coming in second. Myrrh and Tonka is a beautiful sweet fresh delight that has 12 hours of staying power and projection that pushes around 5-6 feet in my experiences. I own a 50 ML and just scooped up a 100 ML Backup from Nordstrom's. This fragrance is absolutely THAT special. Compliments factor is extremely high on this one as it's scent trail is beyond mind blowing. It could be 100 percent unisex and truly can be worn during all seasons. While some don't think it's anything special I would rate it a 5/5 Star! I'm in love with this juice and feel like a million bucks when I apply this beauty after I get out of the shower and into the world!

I love this fragrance. It's so comforting and it's easily my most worn for relaxed events or even just while hanging out at home. It's not a massive scent bubble, but I can still smell it on myself the next day and on clothes for days after. You also can still detect it on yourself for hours, without having to shove your nose in your shirt or trying too hard. I do think you have to actually spray it on yourself to try it because it from the bottle it smells vacant and on test strips it goes really flat, almost chemical. But it has this really warm, cozy, graceful aroma. The lavender is very subtle and more herbal, but you get it. The myrrh is very present and probably the most easily recognized element. I don't detect the tonka in a blatant way, but it's there in giving some extra warmth. I think this is definitely not something that will probably get you immense compliments based on a very meek sillage, but if you want something to linger in your personal space and make you feel good throughout the day it's a solid wear.

This past winter I have been exploring fragrances that have predominant frankincense and/or myrrh notes. In January I came across a travel size sample of Myrrh & Tonka at a local Sephora and decided to give it a try. Initially, I was disappointed. It was 85% Lavender and Tonka, 14% Myrrh, and 1% Vanilla. It did smell nice, but I was hoping for the Myrrh to be more noticeable and not mostly a Lavender & Tonka bomb. So I set it aside to see if a few months of maturation would improve it. Today I decided to give it another try. OMG!!!!! It has become exactly what I was hoping for. The Myrrh really stands out now and combines beautifully with the Lavender, Tonka, and Vanilla. I still don't detect any Almond whatsoever, but don't really care about that. Longevity is a good six to seven hours. Projection and sillage is moderate. This is fine for me as beast mode performance is not something I need with every fragrance. It's not blind buy safe unless you already love Lavender and Myrrh. I will be purchasing a full bottle.

I bought this one because I love Zara’s dupe Starlight Vanilla, and seeing as that one seems to have gone forever – sadly – I figured that I would have to venture into the real deal. Which is fine, I don’t have an issue spending more money for an amazing fragrance. Yes, it is what I expected, especially in the opening it’s really, really similar to Starlight Vanilla. I just love the myrrh and the lavender. You can definitely tell that the Jo Malone version has more expensive ingredients. It has a certain kind of smokeyness that the Zara dupe does not have. It smells really expensive, and in my opinion it’s pretty unisex, though perhaps ever so slightly masculine. Myrrh & Tonka is not a big projection beast. It does last long, sitting pretty close to the skin. For that reason, it strikes me more as a daytime fragrance. For ‘nighttime’, I would definitely go for something that’s a bit louder and stronger.

I actually really hated this fragrance the first few times I had tried it. Finally got a decant of it from a Jo Malone store and fell in love after wearing it for a day. Maybe it’s my skin chemistry, but I sprayed this on in the morning before work and smelled it/got compliments on it at the end of the work day. It lasted at least 8-10 hours on me - much better performance than any other Jo Malone fragrance I’ve owned/tried. I can see how that initial myrrh/lavender can definitely be polarizing/off-putting, but I have really grown to love that resinous combination with the tonka dry-down. It’s unique, lasts all day, and ends up smelling like a beautiful resinous tonka/almond scent majority of the day. If I had to rank my favorite Jo Malone scents, this would be tied with Amber Labdanum for the top spot, with Cypress and Grapevine right behind. All 3 of those are masterpieces, at least to my nose.

been loyal to this beauty since she first launched, and 10 years later i always have her in my collection. :) i agree that this is not a safe blind buy; but weirdly enough it is a crowd pleaser. whenever i wear this, i get compliments galore whether layered or alone. it's a warm cozy scent, but not deep as you would except from a tonka/vanilla/myrrh mix. on me, this mainly smells of tonka and myrrh with a slight vanilla. lavender is all but non-existant on me. it's slightly smoky, slightly sweet and entirely unisex. you can get away with making this sweeter, smokier, spicier.. she is a beautiful mixer and layerer. this is not a complicated scent and it is pretty linear, but i find it reacts to body chemistry a LOT - though i find this to be true of all jo malone scents. 5/5, this takes me back to where i first got it- london during christmas. warm coats and chilly weather, inviting, and bustling.

This is the passionate Love story of Tonka and Myrrh. The old formula ? Delicious, very aromatic, very strong perfume. Literally everl-lasting, super crazy sillage. Love it, it was my signature scent for 3 years. The new formula ? No idea as i haven't repurchased in a long time. This is outstanding and elegant on a man, magnetic and mysterious on a woman. Both are true masters of their destinies, they know what they want, and they are gettin it. But they are elegant, calculated, hunters. Just beautiful. It's very very strong and lasts forever. So unless for a date, please spray responsibly for office days and flights. One, two sprays = elegance and determination 3 / 4 sprays = date night where you want to impress more sprays = you crazy and do not understand this fragrance Let it breathe, it will perform at it's best ! This fragrance is a mystery to me. Smelled it at Jo Malone store and immediately loved it. Then ordered a decanted sample from DecantX and it smelled nothing alike. Then a friend of mine got her sample from Aromadeus.com and hers smelled exactly like the bottle I smelled at the store. Not sure if the sample I got from DecantX was faulty or what. Anyway, back to the fragrance: sweet resinous heaven! Leans slightly feminine but it’s masculine enough for me. I don’t pick up any lavender in the opening, but myrrh and tonka come through very nicely. Also, finally a Jo Malone with impressive longevity. Easily lasts 6-8 hours on skin. Projection is moderate. Highly recommend! But maybe sample it first. I’ve gotten quite a few samples from aromadeus.com and so far I’ve had nothing but good experience with them.

This is a BANGER! I'm complimented everytime I wear this, by women and men. Women want to get closer, men want to buy it for women to get closer. It's sweet and soft, yet resinous and fizzy. Not a HUGE projector, but it's heavy and clings to the air, loitering around to grab ahold of the passer-by or downwind bystander's attention. It blows my mind how such a simplistic concoction can take over the olfactory to become a hypnotic, spell induced potion. I live in Houston TX, where you almost need gills to breath in the 100°F/75-90% humid summer air, and I wear it to work in the day, out at night, dress up or down, it doesn't matter, I'll wear this anywhere, anytime. BUT I can see where it could be cloying to others who are sensitive pussies. BUTCH UP!

I tend to be careful whenever I choose to wear the fragrances with Vanilla note. I love the Vanilla scents but somtimes their sweetness give me a headache. This one. The composition is beautiful. Not too sweet but warm... One of my favorite from JM. I love how it smell on me, especially half an hour after spraying.(top to middle). I never been to any deserts on this planet but this fragrance makes me feel like I am at a desert under the harsh sun, the hot dehydrated air caresses my face. I admire the fragrances which make me imagine the scenes. Only one thing to note. I have no idea what note is smelling like rubber. Does anyone else feel rubbery scents? Sometimes I smell rubbery scents too much from both of this cologn and the cream.

Fucking hell!!! This is just too good. I am quite new to Jo Malone so I just decided to try this at the store after seeing the name, since I'm a fan of myrrh and tonka bean and whoa, this is insanity. First of all, I don't really smell lavender in this. Just a really balsamic, smooth and creamy vanilla. BUT, this fragrance has that "clean" vibe to it that Jo Malone seems to have somehow, and maybe lavender is responsible for that. Not sure. The combination of myrrh and tonka bean is godly. With the subtle appearance from almond, a perfectly sweet, dark, strong and cozy scent is formed. It know it sounds gourmand but it is not. Perfect for cold weather. Completely unisex, can be worn on anyone and I would enjoy this scent on anyone.

This one to me is such a beautiful elegant scent that had me when I first sniffed it. I originally purchased it for my wife however after keeping my nose on it I had to keep it in my collection. The lavender, vanilla, myrrh, tonka, and almond all came to play and they definitely showed out in the performance. This is sweater, fireplace, snuggled up cozy with the wife type of scent. It’s very safe and inoffensive but pleasant enough that you’ll get compliments. I wore it to the doctor’s office yesterday and the doctor had to know what I was wearing and wanted to go out and buy it. This is why fragrance is wonderful and subjective because what a banger is for me could smell awful to someone else.

This was the first thing I smelt when I decided to go around smelling everything to try and find something other than Boss The Scent as a signature. Just came back to it again. Maybe the first one was off because they do contain more naturals than regular designers. But this has grown on me. Very comforting and has actually lasted a long time on the test strip this time. Maybe if you buy one check the date. Might be equal to my favorite book reading fragrance: Oajan. Edit: Yea I smelt it at the first place I'd smelt it again and it was totally different. Like it'd gone off.

Resinous smoky vanilla and lavender. The perfect accessory to a thick sweater on a cold evening. I am a woman and I love this on myself, though it is on the slightly more masculine side of unisex- the same level as I would place Althäir and possibly By the Fireplace. I have a bottle of Myrrh essential oil, and it smells almost like gasoline, and Serge Lutens La Myrrhe comes off as soapy to me, but this is neither- its smooth and rich with a sweetness from the tonka and vanilla that isn't syrupy or cloying. Wonderful fragrance.

When it comes to designer fragrances, I find that I don't like a majority of options. I have an older bottle of YSL that I love, but most of their "flagship" scents are very meh in my opinion. Jo Malone is one of a few designers where I like several of their options. Myrrh and Tonka is easily one of my favorite scents of all time. It's unique, warm, sensual, and sits really well on my skin. I wish it had more sillage and longevity, but honestly most scents in 2026 I find I have to reapply if I want to smell it all day.

I got this as a sample while trying another Jo Malone scent, and honestly, it grew on me. At first, all I could pick up was the myrrh, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. But the more I wore it, the more the tonka and lavender started to shine through, and now I’m hooked. It’s warm, cozy, and well-balanced. I was surprised to see people say the sillage is weak because this stuff lingers. I’ve had days where I literally couldn’t wash it off (and I wasn’t even mad about it). Definitely a bold and beautiful scent.

I received a 50ml of this through the Harrods advent calendar and it did not disappoint. As you'd expect for a fragrance of this price there's no alcoholic opening. There aren't particular notes that are easy to identify , it's just really well blended together. However you get no aspect of almond at all, I was surprised to see it listed. As I said, you don't get any notes, but you get an impression, very warm and but not spicy, it's a smooth warm and surprisingly unisex

An absolutely beautiful fragrance! Unfortunately doesn’t long last on my skin. Definitely not a safe blind buy, as it opens completely different on skin for everyone, and some notes may be polarising. I think i’m not 100% on board with a top lavender note, because it immediately reminds me of lavender soap or anti-moth sachets in the closet. But as it opens up, makes me feel like a luxurious almond praline and works perfectly for my winter wardrobe.

Tried this on an icy winter day in Vienna. Myrrh and Tonka opens up with sharp alcoholic smell that turns in to over powering lavender. After it calms down the true spirit of this Cologne shine out! Warm, comforting, indulging. Tonka brings nice dark vanilla that is warm not overly sweet and the Myrrh grounds it together without being too load. Smells luxurious and rich. I would wish that it would stay longer that 2h on my skin, then it fades away.

Big crush on this one. A very balsamic fragrance with creamy, smooth, velvety myrrh. The vanilla and tonka give it an almost gourmand aspect, I say 'almost' because, in reality, it's not quite that; elegance takes center stage. It’s incredibly pleasant and soft... Imagine velvet releasing notes of vanilla and tonka, all soft and warm. As for me, I don’t detect any lavender at all. It exudes a certain sensuality, I really like it.

One of the best unique fragrances on the market— I haven’t ever smelt one like it. A rich vanilla that is warm but not like a typical warmth that you always smell on perfumes. It’s slightly woody from the Myrahh but not in an overpowering way and the lavender note freshens it up. You can wear this all day and you will still smell it the next day! I think it’s very unisex but leaning slightly more male in my opinion.

I can't get enough of this one. Dark, sweet, peppery, warm. Cloying in the heat, so cooler weather wins here. When I first sprayed this, I was admittedly overwhelmed, and my first impression of it was masculine-leaning. But the tonka here is absolutely divine, and has had me coming back every evening for a spritz. Already regretting only getting a travel-sized version and highly curious how this one would macerate.

This perfume leans more masculine to me. It smells AMAZING on my husband. Super sexy, night on the town, brings a smile to my lips type scent. It smells like a new leather jacket on a clean freshly showered man. I don't pick up any almond and the vanilla is really subtle. This is one of the most unique fragrances Ive ever encountered and whenever my husband wears it I just want to hug him and huff his shirt lol.

The opening is pretty much all myrrh. When I tried it in the store I wasn’t a fan, as I’m not a myrrh lover or anything, but I was intrigued by the reviews saying it dries down to a beautiful and sexy feminine-leaning fragrance. I got it in a sample pack and wow! A really lovely, spicy, sophisticated and interesting scent. I wore it to a Hobbit themed birthday party and felt awesome.

this is fantastic but I feel like it changes on everyone skin a lot more than any other fragrance. My mate wore this one night and it smelled really sweet and vanilla and Tonka heavy... like a really rich scent. But when I wear it is very almond and lavender forward (which is still heavenly) and I can barely detect any of the vanilla or Tonka. weird but still good juice nonetheless.

Blind bought this, and I was very surprised by the overpowering scent of the Myrrh. I can't even detect the lavender because of the Myrrh. If it's your first time smelling Myrrh, it might smell too much, but as you get used to it, it's actually very nice, especially when it mixes with the Tonka note. The longer I've had this perfume, the more I enjoy it; it's very nice.

Ever wanted to smell beautifully elegant? For someone who has never been a fan of Jo Malone fragrances because I think they are overpriced for such poor longevity, I was left speechless. I'm in............LOVE! This is so well blended, smooth, sexy, sweet, dark, elegant, sophisticated, warm and just classy. I bit the bullet and got the 100ml bottle. Its that good!

SUCH a lovely warm, creamy, cozy perfume. It's deep and sweet, yet the Myrrh keeps it just shy of being overly sweet. I can't help but smile when I spray it on. Just a pleasing long-lasting perfume for Autumn/Winter (and the colder spring days). I wouldn't usually reach for a Jo Malone perfume, but I must say I'm really enjoying the cologne intense line.

When I first smelled this I fell in love! I got a travel size and realized that it is more of a skin scent on me. I got the Genre Parfums inspired by and it is truly lovely! Smells just like the original but lasts longer on my skin! Layers well with any vanilla or almond based perfume like Vanilla Powder or Killian's Rolling in Love.

It's elegant, perfect for a warm summer night. I get a little bit of shea butter lotion and also Tom Ford's Lost Cherry. Not the same, but bits of it. It might be the vanilla + tonka bean + almond combination. The lavender is doing the heavy lifting, it pulls in all the notes together and makes this a clean fragrance.

Through this perfume I found my love of tonka notes. On my skin it quickly turns into a deep, inoffensive skin-like smell. Personally I hate a large majority of perfumes since they make me sick and what drew me to Jo Malone perfumes is their simple notes. This perfume quickly became my favorite of theirs.

I love this so much. It is definitely very strong, I don't use more than 1 spray on my wrists, and it has excellent staying power (I can still smell it after 14+ hours). To me, it smells exactly like trekdrop, a licorice root candy. Really quite sweet and intense, but also dark, warm, spicy.

This is an autumn and winter fragrance. Imagine a warm amber scent with a slight smoky undertone, but without the stinging effect on your nose. If you've tried Dior Homme Intense, it's like a version with the powdery texture removed and more tonka bean added. This perfume warms me up.

This is my favorite fragrance OAT probably just because of some memories linked to the fragrance. It performs and projects fairly well. But it has this lovely powdery and creamy vibe between the Myrrh, Tonka Bean and Vanilla. It feels like a warm, inviting, and luxurious hug.

It's hard rating this fragrance, because I love the first hour of wearing it... Pure sex smell, really feminine (I would recommend it for women), sweet, unique, wow! But after 1,5 hours it really... goes a tad bit synthetic on my skin and I like it less.. sad

I love this so so much was so happy when I got a bottle, not too overpowering but a really really nice daily fragrance. try it first like I did and then grab yourself a nice big bottle to last a while. highly highly recommend I love this stuff so much

I am not a fan of Jo Malone, but I was gifted this one. I tried on a cold day, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Amber with a hint of lavender, just pure luxury. It lasted very well on my skin. Blending is great. Not safe blind buy though.

I got a sample of this from my sister. Really strong woody scent. Very mature scent. Quite feminine. Only a couple sprays and the scent was nearly overwhelming. The sillage on this is insane, the scent filled my entire living room.

Jo Malone myrrh and tonka is something i would recommend, it didnt dissapoint me. Chris Redfield would never wear such a elegant fragrance. When i was wearing this, Ada invited me to bed, but i was too busy expediting.

Wore this for the first time on a cool, rainy day and loved how the mild, resinous sweetness lingered close for hours. The play between the myrrh and the tonka bean is subtle and heavenly.

I love it. It’s a very unique, cozy, elegant and beautiful perfume, one of my favourite smells, but it doesn’t last long, otherwise gorgeous. I don’t feel the tonka and the lavender in it

It smells warm and perfect in rainy weather it is perfect for winter. The male character is more dominant i noticed something over time. If there is no sun the perfume dries perfectly.

ooh, I love this. I've been rocking this for a few years now year 'round - anytime I can't decide on a SOTD, I just go with Myrrh and Tonka. It's comforting and sweet, and imo, sexy.

Perfection. It’s a clean smell but not a typical soapy clean more like a very expensive shampoo clean. I don’t get vanilla at all just a very pleasant hard to explain clean smell.

I love this so much, PLEASE dont wear this in the summer, not a safe blind buy i believe however it is very nice, probably my favourite from Jo Malone, I wish it lasted longer..
