Orange Bitters Cologne (2023)

I used to dislike citrus fragrances, finding them too sharp and cleaner-like, but Orange Bitters completely changed my mind. The citrus here is deep, rich, and beautifully warmed up by sandalwood and amber—no harshness at all. I don't detect the plum note, but I don’t miss it either. I actually bought this after reading a review recommending layering it with Scarlet Poppy, and they were absolutely right—the two together are gorgeous, and SP really helps extend the wear time. On its own, Orange Bitters lasts about 3-4 hours in cooler weather, but struggles in the heat with minimal projection. Still, it's a stunning, cozy citrus scent that's anything but ordinary. Smells like Angostura Orange Bitters, in a good way.

My boyfriend calls this one “the gin fragrance”, probably because it reminds him of a cocktail adornished with orange bitters. It’s a very realistic orange peel scent and completely transports me to the Holidays. I got this one in a Jo Malone store when looking for something to pair with Scarlet Poppy. A wild pick that I would’ve never considered, but the creaminess of SP’s tonka really rounds this up. It’s stunning. My second favourite pairing is Wood Sage & Sea Salt because it really amplifies the woody, citrusy profile of Orange Bitters.

This is one of the best sandalwood fragrances I have. Yes, it is true to its name and smells like orange bitter and spices, but that is the first half of the wearing. The dry down is this warm, creamy sandalwood that I’m really enjoying. I’ve been wearing this layered with Ginger Biscuit when I’m craving for something sweet and spicy, and it’s a delicious combination, but orange bitters is so much better by itself. Completely unisex

This is absolutely delicious. It opens up very crisp and bitter, like orange bitters used in drinks. Then it smoothes beautifully into an amber scent, embraced by the plums. The patchouli is there to warm up, but it's not a patchouly scent in my opinion. I also layered it with a sample of the "Pomegranade noir" lotion, and i swear i can smell cocoa. Turned into a woody-spicy-cocoa-citrusy scent.

I'm on the fence. It smells a little too masculine in the dry down on me, but I love the opening freshness. I do like the minimalist bottle this year. What I love best about Jo Malone is that none of their products smell of limoneone at all....they all smell clean and natural and don't bother my allergies.

Maybe because my expectations were low, but when I actually smelled it, I thought it was pretty good! I even quite liked it—an unpretentious, fairly pure orange scent. It carries a touch of sandalwood in the base, but the orange is definitely the star of the show.

What a beautiful warm orange. Not your average citrusy scent, no. This is cozy, really cozy. Like having orange tea in a crispy autumn day. So pleasant, so realistic. Test it, get ti, full recommendation 👌🏻🫖🍁🍂🤩

Orange bitters smells identical to its name - just like the bitters you put in an alcoholic beverage. I got this in a holiday set with Ginger Biscuit because that was the only way to obtain the latter. I was honestly very pleasantly surprised! This genuinely smells like a bright, juicy orange and dries down into the bitters portion. It's very uplifting and non-offensive. There are no cleaning chemicals or artificial flavors in this perfume - this is photorealistic. I typically don't love citrus forward perfumes because of their tendency to go cleaning-product, but this I actually wear! Proof that citrus can be done right when created with intention in mind. I don't think I'd buy a full bottle of this just because I prefer sweet or complex smells more, but I'm happy to use up this little bottle! Rating: 7.5/10 P.S. For some reason, this really does just give Christmas. I wear it all year round, but there's something very holiday about it lol

I truly adore this fragrance! It's just so cozy! It gives me the feeling of finally being welcomed into a warm home, after being outside on a chilly day. There's somehting warm and inviting in this fragrance that just feels comforting, almost like an embrace. Yet, it manages to be festive and interesting at the same time. I have worn this at home to TV-nights, as well as at parties in the winter months. I feel like it smells like an orange marmalade, but more grown-up and sophisticated. The only reason that i chose "like" instead of "love" is because of the longevity. Unfortunately, it lasts for about 4 hours on my skin. However, if you have Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka - please, wear them together! It both prolongs the longevity, and makes it even more deep and rich, like the most luxorious scented candle ever.

This is lovely, a cozy citrus for cool weather. Exactly as described: bright orange, woody amber dry down, very slighty sweet from orange. Alas, like other Jo Malones, its performance and projection are on the lesser side, but it is lovely.

I wonder if anyone actually rates this based on the dry down and not just the opening. Yes, the opening is very orange forward but they dry down is fantastic! I "accidentally" layered this on top of Ginger biscuit and omg, delish!

Something strange happens to my bottle, I have it since last year and did not particularly liked it, but just retested it and it transformed, Les screechy and more orange pill, clean and straight forward and quite nice

This is a nice winter Citrus which is easy to wear. It reminds me of a chocolate orange!! So i guess I am detecting cocoa? Delightful to wear across the winter holidays!

Intense orange peel fragrance with some wood and berry notes. Starts off orange-pith-heavy and progressively gets sweeter. The drydown can be heavy and a little nausea-inducing. But it is unbelievably long-lasting, as I sprayed this on at 1 p.m. and it was still kicking at nearly 3 a.m. Would recommend for the nighttime.

Unisex “warm” citrus. I get the bitterness (reminiscent of a good marmalade) and I get a touch of powdery spiciness from the sandalwood. Definitely could be worn in cooler weather.

The opening smells like cough medicine, while the dry down is a delicious almost-sour vibrant orange. Unfortunately, it lasts 2 hours maximum and the projection is abysmal, and it takes most of the time it's sitting on your skin to get to the lovely dry-down. I was saddened by this after hoping it would be the perfect Christmas citrus perfume.

Its a really nice citrus Christmassy scent. Maybe my fav from the cologne line and layers super well with myrrh and tonka

Same dull fleeting little orange as before, massive Xmas bow to flog this 4 the festive season notwithstanding.

Can somebody tell me if this is always the same juice, different package each season type of scent? Thanks!
