Rock The Ages Pomegranate Noir

I recently began a run-through of the Jo Malone scents and I happened to get a sample of this scent. Its a fruit explosion with just a hint of spice and patchouli. While not necessarily bad, I found it to be a little intense on the top for me. Way too much fruit, way too fast. Actually, It reminds me of Bubblicious fruit gum. If Pomegranate Noir is worn as a stand alone perfume, I would recommend most men away and suggest it as a very sweet, fruity, playful scent for women. I wouldn't say that it's really meant for office work, but its not so intense that it's unwearable. Its saving grace is that Jo Malone is built for layering, and I think with the right mix, you could balance this to make something truly beautiful. I may not particularly care for this scent, but I don't think it's bad, just maybe too much on the sweet side for those of us who prefer scents with a little darkness to them. I would definitely recommend others to try it before you buy it however, as I think men won't respond as well to this scent unless they have a layer combination in mind.

Initially the fruity sweet blast is a bit too much. I get the berry fruity aspect for about 5 minutes then on my skin it hurries to the middle notes but I find the initial floral sweetness a little too feminine. Not too much pomegranate on offer here..I find it more cranberry on my skin. However , that said, for a man, this is a good one to layer. I have some unusual jo Malone 9ml scents from the Chronicles series (where the constituent notes of her most favoured scents were put together in a book format with a 30 ml bottle of the perfume itself.) and I find pairing it with woody scents like JM Guiacwood or JM amberwood tones it balances well and steers it away from sweet floral tones that are in the background. The result is very unusual. I wouldn't wear this one too much in the high Summer months it has more of shoulder season /Winter woollens feeling. I think it goes well with Ginger and Nutmeg or perhaps even Amber and Lavender (thought the lavender really dominates that scent).. If you plan to wear it on it's own and you're a bloke be ready for the sweet initial phase, but it does settle down quickly.

This has only JUST been launched. HOW can their be dislikes ? And no reviews? I hate it when people are so careless just guessing that they won't like it and wrecking the effectiveness of review quality for everyone else.

Scentscape- This perfume has been out for a long time. It's just a different bottle. I think people are responding to the same fragrance in a million different bottles, instead of the actual fragrance.
