Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot

I struggle with sandalwood going “pickley” on me. The sandalwood in this is smooth & creamy, the spices make it very fall/winter weather appropriate. The apricot is faint to my nose but is there - more so in the beginning. I could still smell it on my wrist later in the day at work (~6 hrs) but not certain about the sillage or if others could smell it. Oh and it’s on sale 25% off at Sephora now so I picked up a full bottle.

The apricot in this is the star of the show. It's very well done. I'm not sure why this was a holiday release, I love this in the spring, and is totally wearable in hotter temps (80° and humid today). I'll have to try it in cooler temps, but it's beautiful today in the heat. Soft, refreshing, nice scent bubble. Fairly linear, but you know what you're getting. No surprises, nothing synthetic, or turning cloying, or heavy.

I have not spent any time on Jo Malone fragrances only because I’ve heard they struggle with longevity. Today I was walking through Nordstrom‘s and I paused at the Joe Malone table and sprayed my wrist. I left the store to get my hair done. While I was sitting there getting a blowout, I kept smelling my wrist and it was delicious ! I left and drove straight back to Nordstrom‘s and bought a full bottle😋. It’s a must try!

The creamiest, coziest everyday fall/winter fragrance. Smells like a hot chai, your favorite new sweater, a luxe candle. The apricot adds just enough juicy sweetness but doesn't steal the show; the sandalwood is smooth and not remotely pickley. Sophisticated, comforting, warm––feeling grateful I have the 9ml and foresee a potential full bottle in my future... lasting power impressed me!

Warm and cozy like a cashmere sweater! It’s not too spicy, the cardamom and nutmeg blend seamlessly with the sandalwood! Longevity is not its strong point so I pair with Jo Malone London Myrrh and Tonka or Mimosa and Cardamom. Both have warm undertones and increase the overall longevity of fragrance, plus they smell amazing together! Definitely shared/unisex , Fall/Winter.

Very interesting fruity woody scent. It has a pleasant sort of dry vanilla/labdanum. And the sweet fruity note in there. Kind of like eating a ripe peach in an old library. Woody, spicy and you can definitely detect that lactonic note in there which I love! Not too creamy or too sweet which is nice. Overall very pleasant and inoffensive.

This is incredible and lasts a surprisingly decent time on my skin for a Jo Malone. Gorgeous, bright and woody opening that dries down to the most beautiful sandalwood vanilla. I am blowing through my bottle and strongly considering a backup. There is definitely a similarity to Gris Charnel’s drydown.

This is Gris Charnel’s more delicate and softer cousin. Opening is straight up Gris Charnel with the cardamom note, but Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot dries down a bit lighter but still creamy with the Sandalwood. If you don’t feel like getting GC or anything from BDK, this is a good alternative.

I normally avoid holiday releases for perfumes but I tried this instore on a whim and fell in love. This is a beautiful perfume, the apricot note is wonderful. This is wearable after the holidays too

There's a subtle fruity spice lingering throughout, evoking ripe peaches dusted with nutmeg, but it never goes full gourmand; instead, it dries down to this elegant, comforting blend that's got a touch of old-library vibe, woody and inviting without overwhelming. When it comes to how it wears, this cologne surprises with decent staying power for a Jo Malone, I've gotten 6 to 8 hours on my skin, starting with a moderate projection that fills the room nicely for the first couple hours before cozying up closer, perfect for winter days or festive nights out. Folks often compare it to BDK's Gris Charnel for that shared spicy-woody DNA, though this one's got a softer, more feminine lean with extra apricot charm and less intensity, making it a great unisex pick at a more approachable price point. All in all, it's a charming holiday gem that feels indulgent and playful, ideal for anyone craving a warm, sophisticated scent that draws compliments without trying too hard.

Fascinating it’s a sandalwood with like a spiced sweet and vague stonefruit edge. A bitter apple pie comes to mind but also not an accurate one exactly. There’s some heat that is warm but not burnt if that makes sense. Definitely conjures a picture of the holidays but not my thing personally! To compare, to me this smells like a non-extrait flanker of Gris Charnel Extrait but it isn’t normie Gris Charnel

Ambery, woody perfume with hints of cardamom. It's initially juicy with a spiced apricot note, but the scent dries down to a straight forward, sweet sandalwood. The scent lingers, with better sillage than I’ve received from other Joe Malone scents. It’s inoffensive, soft, and an easy day to day wear. Niche perfume folks might be bored, but I think the average person would appreciate this scent.

I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I got a rather fleeting apricot note in the opening followed by what I can only describe as a sweet spice note underscored with warm cream. It lasted a good 6 hours on my skin and even longer on my clothes. It is not a ground-breaking fragrance but it is warm and comforting and easy to wear.

First impression: Did not expect to like this as I usually dislike traditional holiday scents but this is surprisingly good. The sandalwood, nutmeg and labdanum smell good and the drydown is made smooth with vanilla, I'm guessing. The drydown is warm and refined, without screaming holiday candle.

It's a nice slightly sweet fragrance. Non offensive. Safe for wearing to the office or somewhere you don't want to overwhelm people with your fragrance. You occasionally get wafts of it throughout the day.

I got this as a sample with another Jo Malone perfume. The opening is very much APRICOT!, but then it quickly dries down into a warm, spicy sandal wood with a vanilla base. It's well balanced and overall inoffensive. Personally, I don't like it enough to wear it, as it reads a bit too sweet and soft for me and i don't like vanilla scents, but that's just me and not the perfume's fault at all. I passed it on to my roommate who enjoys it a lot.

Agree with the user that this smells like a generic spiced floral. There is pretty much no apricot, which I was hoping for. It's heavy on the patchouli and a bit too masculine leaning for my taste.

Well, this is Jo Malone ́s version of Tom Ford Bitter Peach. Drydown is the same and I smell no apricot whatsoever just this smoke-like vanilla-sandalwood mess which gave me the ick with TF too.

When I saw the notes I thought i would be wowed but nope. It’s just an ok one for my nose.

went to Dillard with the intention of purchasing it. Doesn't smell like sandalwood or apricot. Smells more like a spiced floral of some kind. It does surprisingly have good longevity for a JM fragrance. I sprayed it on 3 hours ago and it's still there. Was excited for a good spiced apricot gourmand for fall and this wasn't that.

This was a hard "don't blind buy fragrances based only on the notes" lesson for me. I love apricots, but sadly this doesn't have that much to do with them. Instead I smell a lot of patchouli, which combined with the spices just leans too masculine for my liking.

In my past reviews for Jo Malone fragrances I have argued that the reason the brand is still successful, despite the fact that the founder left many years ago now, is because the company understands what they are good at. The house is especially good at UK-style fragrances with a country vibe. As such, they will often re-release limited edition fragrances under a different name after a couple of years later in a new limited collection, or as a Christmas edition. So I was delighted when they released a brand new fragrance for the holiday season, one that they will likely bring back for future collections. While the classic Orange Bitters returns annually, I expect this one will be brought back occasionally. However, this is no less as lovely. Like Orange Bitters, Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot has a warm, spicy, festive vibe. However, while Orange Bitters has the freshness of champagne or a Christmas cocktail, Sandalwood & Spiced apricot is warm, through and through, like a cup of mulled wine. This is also a very chic fragrance, perfect for wearing with vintage fur and cashmere sweaters well into the late winter. It was a late in December purchase for me so I haven't put mine away yet. I've been wearing it happily along side my other spicy fragrances in winter fragrance wardrobe. If you love the festive vibe of Orange Bitters, but want something in the woods rather than citrus family, definitely be on the lookout for when this comes back, or grab it now while it is still available at a few places. Also, let me just say that the cap on the bottle is absolutely gorgeous. The teal green and peacock blue marbled cap looks very luxe and festive.

Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot: A Surprisingly Unique Blend Jo Malone usually exceed my expectations, and Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot is another great example of their work with niche quality. The apricot note really grabbed my attention; I can't recall it used this way before. It brings this mix of juicy, sweet, and sourness to the opening. It’s paired beautifully with the spicy and woody notes in the background, making it feel complex and interesting. While this isn't a fragrance that I would personally choose for everyday wear, I have to give credit to tis creativity. If you are looking for a completely new twist on woody fragrances, where a bright, slightly tart fruitty touches try it. Rating 7/10

Here’s something funny: I was wearing Gris Charnel when I bought this fragrance. It was my first wear of Gris Charnel and I was unimpressed—pleasant, but nothing special. Sephora is having their annual holiday sale, so I popped by to sniff a range of fragrances. Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot came in a small holiday duo with Ginger Biscuit. Ginger Biscuit was the only scent of the two that was out to sample, unfortunately. I liked it enough to get the duo. When I arrived home, I tried Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot and immediately thought, “Delicious!” Imagine my surprise when I came on here and saw many people compare it to Gris Charnel.

Bought this for my wife this past Christmas. She likes it and I like it on her. Drys down to a lightly spiced soft sandalwood vanilla. Silage and longevity are great. It lingers throughout the house for a long time and I can easily smell it on her when she gets home from work. And she is a very light sprayer (only 1 or 2). I wouldn’t want be around anything stronger than that.

I was surprised by this one, it's a very nice sandalwood that has a little sweet spice to it. While not the longest lasting, it also has a nice evolution that keeps the sandalwood and weaves the fruitiness and spice in and out. Probably worth the bottle if you like it, may be a few years before they trot it out again.

Opens a lot like Gris Charnel, but dries down more feminine than the BDK and the vanilla comes through more in the dry down. Very nice fragrance, but wouldn't wear it myself due to that femininity. Performance wise it's much like most Jo Malone's, low end of average.

Sampled this in Dillards today! As an avid lover of most of JM frags, this one let me down. There was nothing unique or interesting about this, it was just bland. It didn't stink. It was just bland. I was hoping for more. Disappointing release.

I’ve never tried Gris Charnel, but I do have Vanilla Diorama, and there are definitely some strong similarities between it and Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot. Spiced Apricot and Sandalwood is Dior’s softer sister, less citrusy.

It was full excitement at begining, at last Jo Malone brand could create something I like. However after several minutes it turned dull. Maybe this brand is just not for me
