Sweet Lemon

Jo Malone catch me with this gem. Why it’s discontinued? It’s start with a rich pineapple, hint of lemonade and green tea. These 3 scent stay strong for more than 8 hours. It’s so light, bright and fruitty-sweet. For me, this one has something special, something like English Pair&Freesia blended with Zeste de Soleil from Cartier. 8/10

I've been really looking forward to this fragrance, thinking it would be a sweet woodsy meringue. Rather astringent instead of sweet, an initial lemon note dries down into sharp herbs and woods. Rhubarb and caraway notes predominate, with a little bergamot. Think a concentrated Elizabeth Arden Green Tea on steroids. I get a little pineapple but again, not the sweet sticky variety. The faintest bit of freesia... I think I would like it more if it were more prominent. Rather clean green woody scent on me. A bit reminiscent of Burberry Brit Sheer but less floral. A humid environment may bring out the sweeter notes. Good silage/longevity. If you like Tea Fragrances and Hermes, it's a good bet you'll enjoy this fragrance as well. A confident, strong, no-nonsense fragrance.

This is a very tart lemon fragrance with fresh squeezed juice plus some rind and leaves. As it dries down it becomes a sort of pineapple chypre, not unlike L'Artisan Ananas Fizz. While Ananas Fizz is like a sweet cocktail, Sweet Lemon borders ever so slightly on furniture polish. I don't enjoy wearing this by itself, but it's lovely for layering with Red Roses. If you enjoy the base of Nectarine Blossom & Honey you may want to try this. To my nose, their drydowns seem similar.

Too, too much cedar pushes this one into masculine cologne territory for me.

Sweet Lemon is not a gourmand lemon scent, instead, it is woody, green and fresh. I mostly get cedar and fruity notes plus the green-grassy undertones. It also smells familair to my nose, and makes me think of fragrances like D&G Light Blue and all the others that follow the same basic citrus-cedarwood combination. Overall, not too bad.

I wanted to try this but ever since Light Blue they put cedar in everything. I hate so many perfumes because of the cedar. Just too masculine and discordant.
