Whisky & Cedarwood

Tried this on in Jo Malone store and it blew me away with how nice it was. I purchased it there and then and took the bottle home thinking I'd found my new signature scent. I wore it on 3 occasions after purchasing and it did not last long on my skin at all. I couldn't smell it on myself and nobody commented on it either which was a massive let down. I've read that longevity is a big problem for some of Jo Malone fragrances. Genuinely gutted when I had to return it to the store, but I exchanged it for Mhyrr and Tonka Cologne Intense which lasts much much longer and smells equally as fantastic. I'd recommend trying this on your skin in store first and see how it goes over the course of the day before purchasing. **Edit: Ended up re-buying this because the scent is just amazing - hits all the right notes for me, and surprisingly the performance appears dramatically improved from my first encounter with it. Not sure what has gone on there! Anyway, it's back in my collection and i'm over the moon!**

I don't get the poor performance most are complaining about here. This juice is absolutely stunning on my skin. The only thing I find is the longevity could be better but I don't mind reapplying at all with this gem. There's a good reason this juice is sold out everywhere & so hard to find a deal on anywhere. It's just as the name implies, "Whisky and Cedarwood" with just the right amount of spice! HEAVEN IN A BOTTLE!

My mom gave this one to me as a gift and OH MY GOD it was a pleasant surprise. Even though it is considered more of a "male" scent, it is very sexy, dark, and mysterious and it has turned into my go-to going out fragrance since every time I wear it I get so many compliments. I can smell mostly whiskey but for some reason, it reminds me of a more masculine version of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black

Loved this cologne. Was given to me by an ex, and felt it was time to pass it on to someone else. Smells great, but doesn’t last long.

I recently purchased a bottle of Earl Grey and Cucumber from this house, which I love and with it, I was given a sample of the Huntsman Collection Whisky and Cedarwood, which I am testing out as my scent of the day. The opening is wonderfully warm, boozy and woody. Unfortunately, the opening doesn't last very long and the mid and base fade to almost nothing. The booziness fades almost completely on my skin within the first 30-45 minutes and it's barely a skin scent of straight cedarwood after that. I first sprayed it on at 9am and by 1pm, it was all but gone. I'm reasonably certain that it isn't anosmia either because I never go nose blind, or at least I never have in the past. To convince myself I wasn't going nose blind, I decided to spray the rest of my sample on my hand. Sure enough, my nose picked up all the notes immediately and smelled wonderful but the scent is fleeting and just faded way too fast. Scores... Scent : 8/10 ... very much like the name implies, you get a strong whisky accord supported by cedar in the base. Longevity : 4/10 ... very poor on my skin, unfortunately, because I love the way it smells in the opening. If it could maintain that on my skin for at least 4-5 hours, then I could be happy but it just doesn't. Projection : 3/10 .... projection is very poor. It radiates within about arm's length for the first 30 minutes to an hour and then settles to a skin scent almost immediately. Sillage : 2/10 ... it didn't leave any trails that I was able to pick up. Overall : 4.5/10. By far the lowest score I've ever given to any fragrances and it is such a pity because the opening is fantastic. Final thoughts ... I'm super disappointed by this, which really is unfortunately because I adore that initial opening but over $200 CAD for a 100ml bottle from a niche house like Jo Malone London, I really expected more. Maybe if I did have a full bottle and I layered sprays, I could get better performance from it but when you're paying this much for a fragrance, you really shouldn't have to do that.

This is a great smelling scent, but as others have alluded to the performance is awful. I’m talking worse than Creed awful. I bought this in their flagship store and loved it, but noticed within a day that it wasn’t lasting more than 20 minutes on me. No one could smell it on me and I couldn’t smell it on myself. You’d expect this from a fresh citrus scent, so quite strange considering the notes involved. Anyway I contacted Jo Malones customer service the next day and they gave me a full refund and let me keep the fragrance! I don’t think I’ll use it much, so I’ll let it age in my closet for a few years and see where it’s at then!

This fragrance smells like a old lady (emphasis on "old") who lives in a wood cabin, decorated by flowers. To my dismay, the performance is decent and definitely lingers on clothes, but it speaks for itself why this isn't a popular choice within the Jo Malone line. It doesn't smell particularly masculine either - at a push, it's unisex. Get 'Cypress & Grapevine' or 'Hinoki & Cedarwood' over this.

This was a blind buy for me, and I really wanted to like it. It turned out to be horrible, though! The dry down smells very powdery with a hint of Woody notes- reminiscent of an old lady. The performance on this was even worse (maybe that’s a good thing given how it smells)

A few nights ago I went out to dinner at a nice restaurant, and the woman who sat down at the table next to me told me she was wearing this. It smells heavenly and projects beautifully.
