White Jasmine & Mint

Okay so I'll comment briefly on this as I didn't consider it for myself but rather my girlfriend for her birthday. Now that I've bought this and peony blush I have decided to give them to my mum for Christmas instead as they're probably more up her street. I had a discussion with the lady in the Jo Malone boutique and she said this was not a big seller and judging by the comments here I'm not surprised. Personally I thought it was lovely. For me it doesn't have the sweetness of jasmine or the waxy, soapiness of white florals like tuberose or orange blossom but something about it was really gentle and soothing. Perhaps it's the freshness of the mint which is easy to perceive without being too minty and makes this fragrance pleasant. I like it for a woman and even a man could pull this off if he wanted...not me though. Great scent and underated in the Jo Malone collection in my opinion.

I followed a beautiful, expensively dressed young woman all over a supermarket in Japan because she was wearing White Jasmine & Mint. The trail it leaves is like sparkling white pristine light. It has a fresh crisp herbal opening with a hint of green citrus on top of a soft transparent yerba mate tea base. Matter-of-fact and poetic at once. Longevity is pretty good, and the sillage is polite but unquestionably present. This is a very unique, palate-cleansing herbal fragrance. It is casual and at the same time very personal and specific. I bought it because I wanted to be sure I could smell it whenever I wanted to...whenever I needed to. Just in case.

Coriander!!! Yay!!! Awesome ingredient to keep mint from smelling like mouthwash. I usually find jasmine too much in-your-face but the spices here make it so unique and enjoyable, fresh but without being too simple. I combine this with herba fresca with extra mint and with blackberry bay for a summer scent with better longevity. In my 12th birthday I was in a JML store and the lady there combined red roses and jasmine mint on me, with a fin hint of orange blossom, and im telling you this because this fragrance and such combination is timeless and for all ages. Love this.

I too, imagined a beautiful summer night when wearing this perfume. Maybe somewhere in India, with heady white jasmine, which is pure and simple, layered with luscious notes of mint. It's a perfume to please oneself, not so much for others (ie projection is not as important for this perfume). I wear it to bed, and it brings me comfort and relaxation. Sometimes Fragrantica does not do justice to Jo Malone's perfumes. It is a sold love from me. 5/5.

i got my bottle of thissss!!! i so love it!!!!!! ^_^ addiction =p lol, we don't have it here in the Philippines... so i purchased online through my good friend in UK =) expensive including postage but it's worth the pay =) oh BTW, i also have the Lime, Basil & Mandarin in 30ml. to mix with my full bottle of WHITE JASMINE AND MINT... deesh... it's one of the extraordinary scents I've ever had :)

I absolutely love this fragrance! I’ve managed to find bottles though it’s vaulted. I get straight mint and jasmine, with an aromatic, deep green note. I find it refreshing and a little mysterious. 10/10!

My favourite Jo Malone fragrance, this is the most perfect fresh scent. It's almost tonic-like on me, with pretty jasmine shining through the zesty mint. A wonderful summer cologne.

I really love this scent. It is wonderful on its own or layered. I have a sample and would buy a larger size in the future.

This is what a rainy summer night smells like. Too bad Jo Malone discontinued it. I loved the bitterness in it.

I bought body cream at Dublin airport and I will buy the perfume asap, lovely fragrance and excelent cream.

This is lovely and definitely unisex. I'm a woman, but I'd love to smell this on a man. I'm not one who typically wears fresh fragrances, but this one stood out from the Jo Malone line and now it's mine. Looking at the scent pyramid, I don't really detect all of these notes. On initial spray, I get hit with overwhelming mint, jasmine, and citrus (bergamot, I suppose). Sometimes I think the mint is stronger, sometimes I think the jasmine dominates. It's weird. As the perfume dries down, I definitely smell cedar and vetiver as well as the remnant of something sweet. It's more masculine at this point, though I never think this fragrance is overwhelmingly feminine. For me, this fragrance lasts 5+ hours, radiates an arms length away (pretty intense for how "light" it smells!), and smells amazingly "fresh". The notes listed smell very true to life. The flowers smell exactly the way you would smell them in a garden and this fragrance evokes a feeling of being outdoors in springtime or summertime after a rain shower. It really makes me happy smelling this! This is a real keeper for me. I'd always been dismissive of Jo Malone fragrances, but I think I'll have to delve further after this.

I do smell a very green and "white flowers" sort of jasmine mixed with a herbal and sappy mint (not sweet at all), and somehow as I move around and catch little whiffs of it I keep thinking it's a nice clean pine scent, something about the combination of those two along with the other notes peeking out from beneath reminds me of sappy white pines on a cold rainy day in early winter where the temperature is just warm enough in the day to ruin a snowfall yet below freezing at night so as to leave everything coated with ice and frost every morning. Crazy, because I love the pine but jasmine and mint aren't big favorites of mine. After going out in the October sun and mowing for a while, I think another puzzle piece of my pine impression is a very bitter lime. No matter how juicy it got as it warmed on me, it remained a very dry citrus, not unlike hops that are citrus/piney.

I blind bought this...and was very pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it! It's definitely a summer scent, but the fresh floral loveliness was a real surprise. I also bought Nutmeg and Ginger and was REALLY surprised to find this one smelled more herbal on me than the Jasmine/mint!! Shocked... I found that using an orange blossom or JML Pear and Freesia lotion was an enhancement to this scent. I would recommend it for those that prefer a fresher, more innocent scent. It reminded me a little bit of Penhaligon's Bluebell. Not exactly, of course, but in the same vein.. So good, I'm buying a back up bottle before it disappears back in the vault. 6/10 performance 8/10 overall.

I love fresh minty smells, but this one was not what I expected. I thought this would be the one for me from the reviews on JM site, but alas it was not to be. It started well, almost herbal which was pleasant at first, I thought 'yes this is it', but then I was overpowered with the minty wateriness of it. I think I would be embarrassed to smell like mint toothpaste for the duration of the day. I think it is a refreshing smell and not at all sickly, but not one I think I could carry off.I couldn't smell Jasmine at all. Maybe I will feel a bit differently about it after a few more sprays. I'm trying to like it, I really want to honestly !

Got a sample of this and several others from the Jo Malone rep at Bloomingdales. I would say it's an okay fragrance. I tried it alone and really didn't like it at all. Like Guerlain's Allegoria Jasminora it does not smell like a true jasmine to me. Both of these fragrances smell a lot alike. Then I layered it with Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia. It did nothing for the Gardenia. Finally I layered it yesterday with Jo Malone Orange Blossom and it made the Orange Blossom come alive. This is a good combination. Don't like either the Orange Blossom or the White Jasmine Mint enough to purchase.

this is my go to beach holiday fragrance. it brings back memories of white sandy beaches and i only wear it during these vacations so the memories attached to this scent are very special to me. its very fresh and green with a touch of sweet jasmine and fresh mint leaves. its the only green fragrance that i enjoy so much. its perfect for the hot and sunny weather. one minus point is that the lasting power is quiet weak. after an hour or two i literally cant smell it at all anymore. but i own the small bottle of this which is easy to carry around everywhere i go. love this so much.

Quite nice - I find it refreshing and soothing. It starts off with a bit of citrus, but the strongest notes (as I would expect) are the mint and soft jasmine. The tea is also quite noticeable. It feels similar to some of the fresh "green tea" type scents out there, with perhaps a bit more mint. After it dries down it stays very close to the skin and reminds me very much of peppermint tea. It's a very light, gentle fragrance but unfortunately the lasting power isn't great.

What a beautiful scent. The jasmine is so soft and does not scream in your face and the mint is so light and refreshing. I usually shy away from jasmine but this is divine. Pure summer sunshine in a bottle. The scent has chamomile in it and I have to say that when I spray this I just want to breathe deeply and sigh. Must be the tea!!! I have blended this with Blue Agava & Cacao and Orange Blossom both and loved those as well but the scent is lovely all by itself!!!

Tried it again today and it has really grown on me. I think I may have sprayed it whilst trying English Pear & Freesia which is totally not my fragrance at all. White Jasmine now smells so delicate and pleasing I have really warmed to it. It has now settled well on my skin and I really like this one now I have given it a second chance. So glad I did !!

I am a huge fan of floral scents, esp jasmine, however, this one is not what I'm looking for. Whenever I apply this fragrance, I can't help but get the image of a flower bouquet in a patient room. It's overly sweet jasmine. I could smell some minty scents but very barely though. Anyways, still like it though it's not my top favorite.

Nice jasmine, mint and tea composition. Fresh, floral, gentle, charming and comforting. Perfect for warm season. Update: A scent of purity. It smells like a floral meadow in spring, when sun is still not so hot. Perfect scent for a flower elf. Update2: Unfortunately, something teases me in this scent.

This does not disappoint. I bought white jasmine and mint and I got white jasmine and oh so fresh mint. It is so green, refreshing and pleasing. One deep breath and (I'm not going to say York Peppermint Patty) the fragrance just saturates you with crispy freshness.

This is a great clean fragrance. It's lemony, minty, and floral. But its not an overwhelming floral, it's soft, and easy. It like this by itself, and with other fragrances like Pomegranate Noir, or Black Vetyver Cafe. I totally recommend this as a fragrance!

I can smell both the mint and the jasmine. I like the concept. But there's a burnt quality to this fragrance on me that just makes it unwearable, possibly coming from the coriander and cardamom, or if it has peppermint.

Loved this scent. Fresh, clean, and minty. Like stepping out of a shower. Wish it lasted longer on my skin - it isn't a terribly powerful scent, and it faded after a couple short hours. Still, very appealing!

it is very strong so use only a little but as it drys down it get light and even has a tuberose hint though it is not mention. It is nice after it dries down so be patient and light handed with this one.

Another gift! Very strong and whenever I wear it (which is not often) I feel as if I'm some elderly Countess that has a wardrobe of Hardy Amies attire! It has a very old fashion smell.

@WildDove that smoky quality comes from dried matte leaves. It’s not listed here but you can confirm it on Jo Malone’s website.

L'Occitane Verbena with more spicy-oomph in the drydown

This smells EXACTLY like the big blue plastic trash bags! I love it! Ozony ethereal minted white flowers (yeah jasmine, but also gardenia?) Super light, went thru this in under a month, 0 longevity. Cute though.

I don't smell either jasmine nor mint in this. Kind of a spicy green scent which is not quite refreshing for me. I have gotten compliments on it though I am just OK with it and would not repurchase.

Have just come across this scent again & now remember why it wasn't a repeat purchase. I stupidly tried on a tester strip & not on myself (I know, foolish schoolboy/schoolgirl error). Jasmine & Mint smells pretty good on the tester strip, which is how I imagine it smells on most people, but when sprayed on my skin it smells like an incredibly fragrant Indian curry. It's quite long lasting on me, unlike a lot of other Jo Malone colognes, but truly does leave me smelling like I've just done a twelve hour shift in the kitchen of my local Indian restaurant. I absolutely love my local Indian curry house, it's one of my favourite places to eat out & the food there smells like it tastes, delicious!... But smelling like a Goan fish curry isn't quite what I had in mind when I purchased this. For me it's definitely one to avoid.

This smells like freshly and properly brewed Brazilian maté. Very, very smokey with a touch of herbal-floral aesthetic. For me it stays one note and constant, nothing develops or amazes. Sadly I don’t smell any fresh garden jasmine, mint, musk, or fruits. Just smoke but in a burnt leaf scent, not incense or coal. Does not live up to its name at all. With a name like White Jasmine & Mint you’d expect green fresh floral but it’s smoke and tea. I had a barely used bottle off eBay, even the seller said it was too intense, and was able to gift it to my mother who at least likes, but doesn’t love, it.

The smell of white jasmine and the smell of mint translate to dusty smelling crushed mint leaves. First, imagine a poorly maintained greenhouse with ventilation problems. Then, imagine someone coming in and attempting to convert this greenhouse into a mint farm -- the caretaker dusts off the shelves and places a few pots of potent mint flora. The dust swirls in the air, trapped in it's environment. The mint happily releases aromatic molecules into the air. The jasmine is MIA. Makes me want to sneeze.

I don't know where to start with this perfume.. I bought this unsniffed ( Big risk as always!)I was expecting a more Jasmine overtone, but got a burst of strong mint instead...when i first sprayed it on, i remembered that i was running out of mouth wash, so made a mental note to get some on my way back from work. I then went to work and was talking to a colleague , and she suddenly remembered that she had to fix a dentist appointment!..im telling you it was the mint!!

I love jasmine and I love mint, but these things don't work well together. Just as when you mix two poisons to make something innocuous (sodium + chlorine = table salt) it's like taking two clean things that become dirty together. There is a mustiness that set in after the first half hour with a back note of earth. No thanks.

Jasmine? What jasmine? I suppose I can smell something floral in here, but it smells nothing like inhaling the aroma of a jasmine flower. I'm actually not getting very much mint from it either, though there is something herbal in there. Sadly this perfume isn't for me - the aroma on my skin just feels very artificial.

Coriander and very little else. A wiff of bergamot, a hint of tea, maybe some cardamom. As someone said, this reminds me of curry and smoky spices. I adore jasmine and fresh mint, but this has only a vague floral undernote, only noticeable after half and your or so, at least on my skin.

I don't know about this one. It's really strong and strange on me. According to the notes listed, I would really like it but unfortunately I don't. The begining has a weird fermented citrus smell on me with jasmine. I can't get pass that weird smell. I will give it another try later.

I love Jo Malone and enjoy clean scents. For me, this was too medicinal. I struggled to perceive the jasmine AND mint. My husband said I smelled like gin. It settled nicely on my skin, but still came across more like high quality air neutralizer.

A sharp masculine mint, not a familiar peppermint or spearmint, but an unpleasing mint, on the order of but not exactly wormwood. A scrubber--would never tolerate smelling like this and cannot imagine its appeal.

Notttttt sure why, but this smelled of Playdoh on my skin. It was like I sprayed a nice jasmine and mint perfume on some Playdoh, and then used that Playdoh to apply the perfume.

A lil unique and more for the ladies. There's that ultra-sweet/floral dominance in the heart that says a guy would have a lot of trouble pulling this off.

This was a gift. I should love it but I just don't. It should be fresh and green. It's actually really flowery with a nasty sharp after smell. Not nice.

This is the worst of powdery smells mixed with bitter woody and floral scents which makes me want to superglue my nose shut when i smell it. I could not pick up any mint in this either.

The first time I sprayed this (blind buy, since jo malone & jenny glow are generally a safe buy for me, and I got a great deal on it), I was seriously taken aback. slightly disgusted, and wondering if I could resell it since I still had the box, but I decided to give it a second try, layered with something. Rather than the mint I was hoping for (I love mint. Toothpasty, spearminty, maroccan tea mint, all mint, even just eating mints. its one of my favorites, and always calms me down when I'm stressed, I bought this because of the reviews), I got jasmin. Jasmin is a scent I'm not really used to, I'm not actually big on the florals or bold scents usually. It reminded me of flowers that fell of a tree, and then had a rainstorm pass over them. That floral, slighly decaying scent. This was why I didn't like it. I let it sit around the house for a few days (I mean, why not, not like its gonna move anywhere by itself), and just now tried to wear it again. Lightly. one spray on one arm, so that should it turn into a scrubber, it would not be that bad. I layered it over a couple drops of honey (the demeter bodyoil), and its a very different scent. perhaps it also has to do with the fact that it was now applied over warm, just out of the shower skin, and before I sprayed it on while I was pretty cold, on a cold day? Now I get jasmine tea, which I like. Not sure about mint, since I am drinking mint tea at the moment, maybe it appeared for a few seconds after applying? can't notice it now, which is a shame. However, if jasmine and mint will behave nicely like this, we can get along. I think rather than pairing it with other fresh scents, or fresh-spicy ones (it did not work with demeters chai tea. do not try with this. do not do this.dangerously curious what will happen if I pair it with ginger, but not ready for that possible sensory assault yet), it is better to go for something more full bodied. Since honey worked, I think light musk, powdery, and maybe leather would work as a base too. Edit: It has now been about a month since I got this fragrance, and I have tested and tried it a lot. the gross note at the beginning, was probably because I was not used to indole, and as a result it did not remind me of flowers, but of nr 2. Mint still has not showed up for longer than a few seconds. It became hot outside, and the jasmin is even more noticable. I have grown to like it.

I wanted soo badly to like this; I love clean, fresh scents, and it sounds so wonderful. What could be cleaner and fresher than White Jasmine and Mint? And I love mint. The fact that I have never been able to wear Jasmine without feeling nauseous just didn't seem important enough to stop me from ordering some. Maybe it would work. I love almost every other Jo Malone scent, so I figured the odds were on my side. (It's amazing what a perfume lover will do to rationalize a purchase of a new bottle of whatever ). Several hours after my first sprays I had to admit defeat. Like all Jo Malone fragrances, it's a clean, fresh , vibrant scent. It really is. And if you love Jasmine, you will undoubtedly love this. Ironically, it seems from other reviews of this fragrance that most women have a problem with mint, not jasmine. If you love both, I can tell you that you have just struck gold. I, unfortunately, felt the familiar cloying, slightly nauseating scent of jasmine enveloping me, and finally had to go wash it off, which nearly killed me. ( I know, I know-what the hell did I expect from a fragrance called " White Jasmine and Mint"?? I'm telling you, it really seemed like a good idea at the time.) Like Orange Blossom cologne, this one just doesn't work for me. Like all Jo Malone fragrances, it smells exactly the way the name says it will. Sigh.

I love natural like perfume, clean, soft kind of skin scent, flowery and green of course BUT NOT THIS ONE. I don't know what's wrong to my chemistry and nose. I detected super sharp lomony dish washer at the first spraying with strong vetiver fellow. After waited for hours, less lime but vetiver stayed prominence and comfirm me of its masculine scent. In fact I never mind for unisex scent but this is too masculine to my preference. * The "Vetyver" above I like it tho!! Where are my love jasmin, my dear minty scent? All I got are totally disappointed and yet it stayed more than 8 hrs on my skin (something I didn't ask for from this juice). Jo Molone is one of my love and trust I usually buy without sniff. Now I discover it's not always the case like this one and "Nutmeg & Ginger" (my sadness in deed I am fan of nutmeg and ginger scents too). FYI, I might be rare case, coz my nose is super sensitive (didn't mean good) I can detect strong scent very quickly i.e. I can scent of rain 2 hrs before the rain come) then it was shut down.

One day I stepped on up to the Jo Malone counter and sniffed my way through the entire line. what I liked i pulled forward, what I didn't I left where it was. White Jasmine and mint was one i pulled forward, and indeed, was one of my top three. I was told they didn't make samples, and i had already sprayed something on myself, so I left without wearing on my person. Thanks to a good friend, I'm now able to try it!!! So, what to think... for starters, my chemistry is acting like a sling shot for the mint; in general I will amplify green notes of any kind. And strangely, this is reminding me to get a facial (and not a dental cleaning, as the reviewer below notes). I think there is a mask called 'Queen Julip', and it smells like this . So how 'bout that, you can spritz perfume and do your face all at the same time! Do I like this, you bet. it's very refreshing and crisp. But for my chemistry I need floral greens to have a heavier base; after a while this gets to be too much on me.
