White Moss & Snowdrop

Sometimes I genuinely feel some people didn’t really try the fragrances and just create a narrative based on the notes Fragrantica lists. Well, Fragrantica doesn’t always put the notes accurately. I really don’t know the criteria, but how many times the house itself show the used notes and that is in dissonance with this site, or when you detect a smell that is not even listed here, right? Another factor is that so many don’t even let the fragrance sets and already elaborates a full consolidated truth (they’ll say it’s their “opinion”) about the product. That being said, this is a fantastic release! Not very festive, I must agree, specially because of its lightness and versatility. Opens with a lovely weird greenish explosion of citrus, light florals, leaves and some sort of “cold” accord that is only present in the very beggining. Than comes cardamom. Lots and lots of it. You can almost taste the freshness of this spice, which will eventually share the space with a sheer, green, powdery petit grain. Sillage and longevity are average, I got 5 hours at least!

Today is December 1st, and coincidentally the first day of ice where I live. The sky is full of snow clouds, set against a pink sunrise. It's cold. Very cold, and with that it's a perfect day for this fragrance. I feel grounded by it when I step onto the frozen grass in my garden and hear it crunching under my feet. I wish I could find a bottle of Alice in Wonderland's Drink Me potion so I could stand on the moss underneath a frozen snowdrop and see it sparkling in this morning's pink sunshine. If nothing else, this fragrance transports me to this place in my mind's eye. It's a beautiful scent for wintertime. Cold, green and sparkling. Longevity isn't too bad for a cologne at around 5 hours. Silage is moderate. I think it would work okay in springtime, but might not suit Summer wear. I find it leans masculine on my skin but I don't mind that at all. I think it's gorgeous.

Personally I find that White Moss and Snowdrop fits very well the Jo Malone line. They released a fresh, green, cool floral, a winter floral. Groundbreaking! I liked it. It's perfumey, with a vintage feel, "full", lady-like and a little powdery. It's what the mid 20-30s would call old-lady and grannyish-it's not! It has a deep smell actually. I don't know the scent of snowdrop. I do sense the moss, neroli/petitgrain and some spice in the drydown, like cloves, maybe a touch pharmaceutical. Lasts a whole day but close to the skin strictly The bottle is shinier up close

The smell of moss and very green petitgrain makes me reminisce about winter days walking in the park, feet buried in the snow, with a little bit of midday sun. Winter in this perfume bottle has a change from the dry cold of white moss to the cool and warm of citrus and amber. I am so in love with this.

It is a light mossy, green scent, with a subtle and gentle creamy floral sweetness. To me, it does indeed conjure up the image of delicate snowdrops popping out from crisp white snow, when the air is still cold and crisp, but you feel spring is coming. Despite this wintery image, I think this fragrance may suit all seasons. It is delicate, airy, a bit powdery, with subtle green, citrussy and floral touches, with the lightest, most gentle earthiness from the moss. Absolutely non offensive, perfect in any occasion or environment. Projection is moderate, but I can smell myself, which is what I like, and longevity is not bad at all for a cologne concentration.

As a JM lover, White Moss & Snowdrop is the biggest JM scent of this year, not Cherimoya or Honeysuckle either. The scent imaging me how Princess Elsa’s land could smell, the dried cold, dusty and hints of flowery, all of those scents can describe the winter session but unfortunately, it’s cannot relate to the hope as Snowdrop’s meaningful as it could be. 9.0/10 for the project of Snowdrop! 7.5/10 for the scent. 8.0/10 for the bottle’s color.

This is weird because on paper it smells like a crisp spring day, walking through a field of vegetation. On my skin, it's cardamom and anise, followed by a clean soapy amber after a couple hours. Interesting and smells good, with decent performance for a Jo Malone. I'm not convinced I need a full bottle but if I see one for cheap I'd probably get it. Scent 7.3/10 Performance 7/10

A soft winter fregrance that feels like a crunchy, crisp step on snow covered grass. I really like the moss element and the floral notes have a pleasant creamy hue. It's a bit of a throwback, and is what I imagine a whimsical trip to Narnia would smell of. Like a delicate flower or snowflake, this fregrance is fragile and fleeting, so enjoy it whilst it lasts.

A perfect unisex seasonal fragrance. I live in the southern hemisphere so Christmas is in summer and this is one of the few spicy scents that aren't overbearing for the holiday season here. It dries down quite soapy on my skin but the first few hours are incredibly enjoyable. For me, it feels appropriate for the entire year, not just winter/Christmas

This is the scent of a goth snowqueen, a mausoleum in the snow. Long shadows persist, even in the bright light of sunlight on snow, moss and lichen hang from cold marble in places that only see sunlight in the low angles of winter. There's a brightness, but also a coldness.

In the opening I was hit with a spicy, herbal slightly-wet jasmine. I’m not sure if this is just my skin chemistry, but it caught me off guard. Either way, I wasn’t anticipating clove Or patchouli. In the best moments, I caught a fresh orange blurred delicate by soft, sweet baby powder. I imagined a bright december morning. A pomander sits on a white windowsill, backlit behind a freshly-laundered pale tulle curtain. You can see its shape and smell its zest through the haze. It seemed very ballerina-like, albeit a somewhat lifeless/“sterile” image. Something felt missing. I caught more of the mossy elements in the dry down, where it dissolves into a generic spicy, earthy, musky amber situation with the sweetness of the tonka bean still lurking around in the background. Nothing spectacular. Overall, it felt like it was fighting to lean either masculine or feminine the entire time I was wearing it. I didn’t detect a snow/snowflake element at all. The warmth from the spice didn’t allow it to project that kind of image. The closest I got was melting slush when the mossy earthiness came out at the end.

It smells like citrus, moss and neroli/snowdrops. Beautiful scent, a mix of citrus and greens. Would be nice in spring but also has the scent of a wooden cabin in the mountains. But as it goes with Jo Malone London perfumes, they smell good and are well named as what they smell like, but lack projection and longevity, but it seems these "older" lasts a bit longer and has better projection then the newer versions.

Very green mossy opening. Very slight citrus and amber notes exist but not very apparent. Not really to my liking. Has slight wintery vibe that exists with Soleil Neige. This is a clean and fresh scent that is light enough that people who are not too keen towards perfumes should not be offended.

Linear + powdery. The decant (dabber) played me. It had an almost gourmand mandarin. Sprayed it’s an overbearing fabric softener.

It would be overly generous to say that the fragrance failed to live up to it’s festive name. An enormous anticlimax for a holiday, limited edition. Perhaps JoMalone only had the budget for ethanol, as it smells of nothing. Literally. No Moss; snow all melted away. Some vague, white, L’air du temps inspired, aldehydic floral. Stick to the Pine and Eucalyptus candle from JML (which, unfortunately, seems to have been changed and cheapened this year) instead.

On paper it's mostly snowdrop with some moss on background, didn't catch any clementine. A very soft, light floral scent, a safe bet to give someone who enjoys airy innocent perfumes. Probably lasts longer if worn on hair, I feel that on (my) skin if will wither and disappear within an hour or so.

For some reason this dries down to a musty, musky smell on my skin. It has a "distinctive masculine" note to my nose; almost like a sweaty man would smell after working out. I don't know what it is--I just have a hard time wearing this scent.

This just isn’t good. It’s not awful. But. It’s not enjoyable at all on my skin. It has moments of sweet powder and citrus. Then it’s just messy moss and earthy herbal. I like moss but this ain’t the moss I like.

As several reviews have mentioned, this scent does resemble Jo Malone 154, but that top note very soon becomes spicy on me with an overtone of intense cinnamon. It is somewhat masculine, but I prefer masculine scents over cloying cotton candy-like fragrances. Go easy with this scent as it is quite potent initially. It does dry down to a soft powdery scent on me within an hour or so. My chemistry tends not to hold fragrance for very long and like all of Jo Malone’s scents (even the Cologne Intense) it lasts for a maximum of about 3 - 4 hours on my skin. I have not yet tried combining it with other JM fragrances, but my guess is that it would pair nicely with JM Rose and Magnolia. Unfortunately, both are limited edition fragrances with White Moss and Snowdrops being a Christmas 2018 release and Rose and Magnolia a Christmas 2019 release. I was fortunate to find both at Saks Fifth Avenue before they sold out.

Funny how I get tons of clementines, amber, and tonka from this, the least voted notes in the list. I really wanted the chilly, earthy winter morning feeling with the floral nuances, but instead I got a simplified Elixir des Merveilles. The clementines and the amber are on steroids, they're staying strong until the very end. The opening is pretty combined with some petitgrain and orange blossom, and the moss adds a nice nuance in the drydown. The longevity is great for a Jo Malone, I could smell it for about 5-6 hours. The bottle is really pretty in real life, it's got this beautiful pearl-esque/frozen ice sheen to it. I was ready to spend money on this, but since it smells so similar to the Hermes one on my skin, I'm not going to bother because I own that one already.

Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop has become my new go-to scent for any situation or occasion. It's lovely and comfortable like a dusty cream-colored soft and fluffy sweater. It's fresh and warm at the same time. The petitgrain and neroli do not turn bitter on me, but give the scent that feeling of cool, winter air when I first sprayed it. Then that tonka and amber which never get heavy or overwhelming render a delicate warmth like sun-kissed skin. The whole time I am getting some nutty undertone and creaminess from the heavenly cardamom. I am so in love with this. Longevity is good at around 5 hours on me. Sillage is soft but noticeable. I am hoping that this Jo Malone Snowdrop is not a limited edition release for the holidays, this is beautiful for any season.

I do see where the perfumer was aiming for with this. Some types of snowdrop do have a honeyed, almond like aroma that, unless you pluck yourself some for a nosegay, you must get up close and personal to experience. It is quite ethereal, and does sort of smell almost "snow-like" in a way. There is a sweet creaminess thats drizzled with citrus, but I can't get past a facet that smells sort of like dryer sheets. This musky, fabric softener, seasoned with a vague clovey spiciness has me both weary and nonplussed, I wonder if this would grow on me. Were in not for other more captivating fragrances that vie for my attention, perhaps it would.

Smells like a softer version of Hermes Eau de Merveilles with a healthy dose of powder added to it. It's basically baby powder and dry amber. It's not a bad smell, but it is too powdery for me. It's soft, dry and polite, and I don't think it will elicit any strong reactions from those around the wearer. While this is not my favorite JM creation, I am glad they went on a different direction and released something different from all the toothache-inducing, candy-sweet fragrances in the market. Enough of that already.

White Moss & Snowdrop Jo Malone London (Store test, ELCA sales) White Moss and Snowdrop smells very clean white moss. It is feel almost like white musk but moss instead. Clean, very gender neutral, very very mild earthy I can't barely associate the moss quality to it. The base is powdery tonka, I saw few mention it quite similar to Starlit Mandarin. It quite like that but no to little sweeten compare to another one, the starlit mandarin? Sort of, yeah ok. Easy to wear, Jo Malone manner. 6.5/10

It's a tangy aftershave at the start - very clean, barbershop spice with citrus bursting from it. A dry fragrance that alerts you of its presence without being remotely over powering. I almost always layer this with another amber as I find myself wanting more as day goes on but it doesn't linger as long as I desire. I do enjoy the bitter note of the moss whilst it lasts and it seems to catch well on fabric. At least three of my coats smell deeply luxurious because of this.

This smells really clean and fresh and reminds me a bit of fresh laundry (but not in a literal detergent way). I like the subtleness of the floral notes as well as the citrusy ones. I get slight jasmine vibes (although it probably is just the snowdrop but I haven't smelled snowdrop on its own before so I can't tell). It has some subtle sweetness and smells really approachable. I personally don't have a particular season that I associate with this one but I like it overall!

Such a boring release - it is a light floral that could possibly be called a citrus, but not really because it sits somewhere in between. Negligible strength, next to no sillage and definitely not Christmasy. It reminds me of a very, very cheap drug store perfume (you know the kind that is trying to be non offensive to everyone so ends up smelling a little like a Glade room spray).

Being JM fan I was so excited for this one. Huge failure. I don't get this scent I just dont I can not make it work for me. Great composition for a candle or a room spray but not for a perfume. It opens very masculine on me. Drydown is somewhat better but not worth buying the bottle. I am trying to combine it with Ginger biscuit or orange bitters to make it more wearable

Very naturally smelling, however, I do not get any Christmas feeling from this scent. It is more an early spring smell of the earth covered by already melting snow and snowdrops timidly getting through it. I find it a little depressing though and definitely not setting a holiday mood.

-This appears to be a Christmas re-launch/re-release. -Pleasant, spicy scent that retains a polished vibe throughout. -Fruity/citrusy notes don't make an appearance for me. -Uninteresting scent that's linear and predominantly masculine. (-)

NAWT for me...smells like my auntie's expired perfumes; I think in general cardamom notes are not for my skin :( but overall definitely a more masc-leaning winter scent for those that are looking

So disappointing. Might be good as a room spray or a candle, I just don't get this is as a fragrance. Opening is really bad while drydown gets a bit better but not much... save your money

Doesn't smell like, BUT IT REMINDS ME OF TOM FORD SOLEIL NEIGE. I LIKE THEM BOTH.
