Night Show

I smelled Night Show before buying it so the blame is on me. It happened by instance. A drugstore was having mad, crazy sales on perfumes at christmas time and this one was one of them. I was given a leaflet in the morning right when I was about to rush to start my working day. I only had time to get in the store and ask if they had in the stock. They didn't. But the other one 5 min away had 2. Just when it was about to close I arrived to the shop and asked to smell it. I felt under the impression I had smelled it before. Tired and exausted from the day I had had I couldn't remember what was so familiar about this aroma. I ended up buying and went home. As I was opening my door and after sniffing my wrist at least a thousand times I realized... Le Male. It smells like Le Male. A weaker, watered down version of it... On me I can sense cinnamon and vanilla the most. I smell mostly like a dessert or baby powder. Thankfully some other notes start to show afterwards. It is a very powdery and gourmand fragrance after all so if those are qualities you dislike stay away from it. Both its projection and sillage are low and you have to heavily spray it if you want to keep on smelling it. I learned to like it but I don't use it that often. Despite its name I would say this is appropriate for all day wear as it is not likely someone will feel offended by something that fades away so easily.

It seems Night Show by Joaquín Cortés (he used to be a celebrity in the 00s as a flamenco dancer but now is sort of a hasbeen) is quite unknown for the general public, let alone outside Spain. This scent, on the contrary, is quite uplifting and bubbly. It reminds me of Le Male and Fleur du Male at the same time, though with minimal staying power and sillage. Additionally, Custo Man comes to mind but this one (Night Show) has a more refined flavour for me, despite its lack of potency. If it smelled stronger, this would be a really decent effort, but due to its shyness it falls flat. I have to use 6 or 7 sprays to be able to smell it after one hour, which is a pity given the appealing smell. The scent is sweet, a bit plasticky (in a good way) though fleeting, unfortunately. Had Joaquin Cortés stayed relevant and his perfumes received intense variations, this could have been successful. As of now, this has been discontinued and has become really hard to find, but not many people knew it and fewer will miss it. A pity, since it could've been really good.
