Nice, inoffensive fragrance. Fresh but close to skin. Not a wow but nice, not generic

Very light almost fleeting skin scent. Tiny bit of citrus freshness at the top like an ephemeral wisp that flies away. Once that is gone which takes a minute, I have to stick my nose very close to the skin to be able to detect any floral notes. Or any sandalwood for that matter. It truly is a very discreet scent that feels like a very light slightly mild clean musk. And sometimes I wonder if I am just imagining it... It’s almost a sense of the emperor’s new clothes... When I sniff the scent from the open bottle I get more. More citrus. A tiny bit of something that reminds me of juniper tree/berries in a soft woody base. But on the skin for some reason this almost makes me totally anosmic to it. Or the fragrance is so soft and fleeting that it just can’t be detected anymore once it has settled? On very moisturised skin and when I spray it in my palm I can get a bit more effect from it that is a bit more similar to what you get from sniffing the bottle. But still a very light clean musk with a touch of citrus/juniper and a super soft sandalwood with a tiny touch of vanilla. Pulling a little into the bathroom cleaner direction... Dare I say boring? Now it seems this is a trial version judging from both the bottle and what it has been marketed as online. And I sort of hope so as this doesn’t seem finished. And it also doesn’t feel very New York or Brooklyn to me there are a lot of adjectives one could use to describe the feeling of New York and Brooklyn. But boring ain’t one of them... Bobbi Brown has done fragrances before and some of them, like her beach fragrance, (I believe it’s called the Beach, but I might be wrong is a little gem. So she knows better than this. ❣️

I haven’t quite made up my mind about this one. On me it’s very floral forward, which is not something I typically enjoy. The tiniest bit of citrus at first, but that’s fleeting. So it’s mostly just a soapy floral with a little bit of lavender on top. I’m not getting the sandalwood. I’m a big fan of Bobbi Brown Beach, but this one feels more like a test or in-progress version of a fragrance than a completed perfume.

I’m a sucker for marketing! This was a blind buy because I’m from Brooklyn and it was so well priced with a discount that I thought the notes sounded great for any warm day. I didn’t get lemon at all, just soap and synthetic lavender. My husband smelled it and said it’s like cheap soap. I went back to it after 3 hours and that synthetic soapy fragrance is still there, no sandalwood.
