All About Eve

All About Eve is the first perfume I can remember loving. I first bought it in 2004 when I finished high school and moved out of home so there are many memories associated with the apple and cinnamon, both good and bad. I can remember when I ran out, I tried to purchase it again and was devasted when the shop assistant told me it was discontinued. I have tried fragrances that were meant to be similar over the years, but they never possessed the same magic. I never stopped thinking about All About Eve, so I quickly bought a bottle when I saw it was available again. It is exactly how I remember it -- warm, sweet, comforting, and unique. But I have been putting off writing a review because I wanted to make sure the love wasn't purely driven by nostalgia. It's not; this fragrance is wonderful, and I am sure it would be enjoyed on the first sniff by many. I am in my 30s now, and it's still age-appropriate -- I don't understand how anyone could call it juvenile. The apple and cinnamon are as prominent as you would expect, but something else in there takes it away from being a pure gourmand -- I think it might be the patchouli and sandalwood. And in saying that, the notes listed in the description are more accurate than the Fragrantica notes. It is much more complex and those six notes are misleading. It lasts on clothes for a whole day, but only 4ish hours on skin. The performance is pretty good. I wish bigger bottles were available!

My mom had this bottle when I was a kid and I used to go into the bathroom just to smell it. There was hardly anything left of it, she'd bought the bottle when it came out but the most common retailers here very quickly stopped stocking it so she never got her hands on another one. Sometimes I think I should try ordering one for her (or myself!) online but I don't know if the scent could live up to the pedestal we've put it on. I distinctly remember the sweet but still fresh tone of green apples (specifically, idk why) with round, warm undertones. I couldn't place it at the time of course, I was only 9-10, but looking back it must have been the jasmine and vanilla coming through. I dont remember being able to single out the cinnamon or floral notes but I can easily see them contributing to bringing the apple scent down from fruit salad lane and more into baked goods in the garden territory. In many ways, when I first became interested in perfumes myself, this was the blueprint. The holy grail. Both me and my mom found that Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (another favorite of mine) resembled this alot, although Chance veers more towards fresh and light. And in truth, maybe it's only similar to the All About Eve that lives in our memories.

1996, I could have had it since 1996 and I never knew it even existed! I have La Danza for a couple of years now and I love it dearly: warm apple pie and melting Icecream, cozy, foodie( gourmand that is not abstract at all), high quality. All about Eve reminds me of La Danza greatly and could have easily served as a predesessor if only I bought it earlier. The apple is on the fresher side here, like the apple pie is ready to be baked and Icecream is still in the fridge, compared to La Danza. The bottle has just recently arrived, so I did not have a chance to test longevity yet and maybe it needs some time to settle too, so I might update my review later. Right now it sits very close to skin and does not leave much of a trail. If I had to choose between the two, I would have picked La Danza delle Libelulle, but it is nice to know that there is a budget version of it still available. The bottle is a bit weird and adorned with low quality components that move around and frustrate, but the sprayer works fine and 40 ml is small enough for travel. I am not going to repurchase, but would have done so 10-20 years ago.

I had this perfume ages ago. I thought it was discontinued, couldn't find it anywhere in years. As the online shop where i order most of my perfumes from suddenly had this in stock, i ordered it immediately. Was a bit worried about the quality (if it really is discontinued), and didn't quite remember how it smelled like, just remembered liking it a lot. Was thinking i might not even like it anymore, as my tastes have changed. Well, i have been wearing All about Eve for a couple of days now. This is not a screechy, green, "fresh", artificial apple scent (nothing like DKNY apple scents, those are horrible on me). This is a spicy apple scent. Apple, cinnamon and vanilla, in a perfect harmony. It's deep and warm. Still summer here now, but i imagine this will be even better in cold weather, a real comfort scent. I think the longevity will be better in cold weather as well. Warm weather tends to make my scents last a shorter time, this still stays on around 4-5 hours now. It was even better than i remembered, one of my new favorites <3

All about Eve! is a memory scent for me. It reminds me of a summer holiday in England and a very nice guy I met there. I bought it at the duty-free and worn throughout my holiday. I really liked it back in that time and I would still wear it if it wasn't discontinued here, but anyway it will always be a big memory trigger like my other frags, so I always need a new one. It was a different me then. It worked very well with my chemistry. Yes, it smelt green apple but not the kind of fruity fake perfumed waters for teenagers. I think it has a relatively simple formula but well balanced. Especially the drydownwith its woody/vanillic base provided a certain tone to the whole composition. It was perceived as a fresh summery scent, maybe innocent but also quite seductive, very suitable for the young lively girl I was! People understood better this type of scent ratehr than my historical bombs like Shalimar or Samsara. I still own a finished small bottle and I can't sniff the cap without being immediately drown back to that holiday.

A wonderful gourmand scent. The bottle is in the shape of an apple and inside is a beautiful sweet apple scent with a cinnamon flavor and hint of jasmine and vanilla. This is the smell of grandma's apple strudel, the smell of home, love, Christmas. I got this perfume from my father for Christmas as a girl, when we spent our first Christmas in a new house in the country. I sprayed it on my neck, we went to a midnight mass, it was knee-deep snow outside, everything was bright, and I was burying my nose in my scarf the whole time and I couldn't stop sniffing this wonderful fragrance. This perfume will forever remind me of Christmas, the smell of a new home, my family and my 20s. I am now a mature woman, but I still love this perfume and now I bought it again after so many years. It still smells amazing and so nostalgic.

One of my all time favourites! Light, fruity, simple and not too sweet - just perfect. This fragrance is all about apple and vanilla. It starts with apple and a hint of vanilla and dries down to a wonderful creamy combination of sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla and a very soft fruity beackground. I do get a little cinnamon and floral notes but they are really subtle. I absolutely love this scent and I've gone through quite a few bottles since one of my mother's friends gave me my first sample almost 15 years ago. I always receive many compliments when wearing All about Eve, from both men and women. It lasts at least 9 hours on me but more often I still sense its soft trail the next morning. I'm not sure why it seems to fade more quickly sometimes, maybe I'm just too used to the smell.

This is a lovely little perfume. The apple note is sweet and juicy, slightly fresh and together with the cinnamon note this creates a very nice, delicious combination. I'm so glad the apple there is not citrusy and aquatic, just like it tends to be in some other perfumes with the green apple note. This really smells like an apple to me, or an apple pie. I see why to some people it may smell almost candle-like. :) But I personally don't mind the slight "candle" note and it's not heavy or overbearing. The juiciness still prevails. I kind of wish there would be a bigger bottle of this. :) but this still seems like having a moderate longevity and projection, at least on me, so that's not bad. I see myself wearing this with joy during the hot sunny days.

Lovely perfumes. A 90s classic perfume. I have so many good memories with it. Its a crispy green apple with a hit of cinnamon and vanilla. But this does not smell like apple pie, NOOOO. Its instead a very fresh, crispy green apple, that's the star note in this perfume. You can smell also the cinnamon and vanilla (but they are very tiny notes) but they are not together or at the same level as the green apple. You smell a green, crispy, woody apple, thats exactly the definition of this perfume. This perfume dont lasts long. Thats why i recomend you to have a travel sized with you so you can reapply it during the day. Even when you use it on clothes after the first hour the sillage is very intimate.

Naughty but nice! I've been wearing this off and on since it was released. Almost certain the formula has been changed; it's not exciting as the original. I still enjoy it on casual days when I don't feel like wearing anything floral or fresh or too gourmand, this is a pleasant in-between. The green grassy notes are much softer than before, the apple/cinnammon sweeter and the vanilla more prevalent. There is also a hint of plastic or something I cannot define. Still it is a unique fragrance that will suit some people better than others. I have no idea if it suits me, it's just one of those oldies that I feel the need to sniff occasionally and (try to) recapture my youth for a few minutes!

I love this. It smells like a green apple plucked from a tree at sunset in a large orchard. Warm, sweet & juicy. The more sophisticated 'Be Delicious'. My parent's bought me this for my 15th birthday when we were in Tenerife. Later that year, i had it in my bag when i went to house party and sadly, it was stolen. They bought me another bottle the following year which i took better care of, an still have. Gutted that it was discontinued. I don't think it was ever sold in UK & EIRE, it was very hard to find. I luckily bought an unused, boxed tester on ebay and im delighted as it is 125ml for only £46.

This is not the type of perfume I would typically gravitate towards. At least at the first glance- apply freshness and its sheer sweetness. BUT I have to say that while I lived in India, this was one of the very few in my collections that boldly stood its ground in the heat and humidity that seemed to consume my more substantial orientals in just a few snaps. Over the period of 2 years I learned to love and appreciate it. Now back in UK I probably will not reach for it frequently, but it has a honourable place in my collection. Beautiful and not as unasuming as it may first appear to be☺

This has been my signature scent since 1998. I remember I first saw an advert in one of women's magazines and smelled its fragranced page, and I fell in love with the scent immediately. Back then I had no idea about skin types, longevity or differences between EDP and EDT. Nevertheless, when I bought my first bottle, I was lucky that the smell was perfect on me! It settles warm on my skin, and I get so many complements on the perfume. It's great that it's not easily available in shops (discontinued in many countries now) so the smell is not too common amongst women. My true perfume love.

I cannot find All about Eve anywhere in London. So far I have been able to stock up with the help of ebay. But it is great that it is still available on the continent. Thanks for the great news, Eyla! My next visit to Europe is scheduled for the end of October and I will raid the shelves of all drugstores and department stores I can find. Muller is a German/Austrian chain, right? EDIT 05 Oct 2010: I found out that All about Eve IS discontinued, some shops are just sitting on old stock, like they still have Rococo or Le Bain. Yes, big name high street chains, too. :-(

Received this in the mail today! It smells soooo gooood!!! And a whole lot familiar...I've been wearing it all day long now and can still smell it. That familiar feeling just wouldn't go away so I had to go and take a sniff on my other perfumes now when I got home from work. And the one it reminded me so much about turned out to be Hugo Boss Orange. To my nose they are VERY similar, and they actually share both the apple note and the vanilla. So if you're looking for All about Eve and can't find it, you could always try Hugo Boss Orange edt.

All about Eve was my first designer fragrance and my signature scent when I was a young 14 years old girl. I loved it very much and picked it for myself in the fragrance store. I was captivated by the apple/cinnamon combo that was wrapped into this huge vanilla blanket. It has a really rich, sophisticated and warm character. It could almost be a gourmand with the apple/vanilla profile, but it is a more classy fragrance. Still available, so try if these notes sound appealing to you. Also, totally affordable price for such a gem.

I got this one from my sister on my 18th birthday....a big bottle and I loved it. After I finished it, I never bought it again. It became less popular and I couldn't find it in the stores anymore. Now I' m almost 32 and ordered a small bottle online. Today I got it and it still smels heavenly! A soft, sweet apple scent. I truly don't understand why I haven't used it for almost 14 years! I will keep on using and buying it from now on..that is for as long as it is still available....

This perfume really has grown on me! I stopped compaering it with my Ungaro and Moschino, and to my surprise, it started to smell as I remembered it, so, it went from a like to a love scent!!! I am so very HAPPY about it, and I just love this little beauty so very, very much, and, I smells like an apple-cake you too want to eat!!! Age; for all of us, gender; for all of us, points; 10/10, starsigns; all of us and cows, and birds, and whales, and spiders, and butterflyes, and so on

This was my first "serious" fragrance and I got it from my parents...I loved it then and have never stopped! Haven`t had it for ages but repurchased two days ago. Its quite difficult to get but one has to find the way :) This is probably my most beloved frag and always will be... Sweet but not sticky and nauseating. Elegant and sexy. Combination of apples and vanilla is delicious and longevity is pretty good. And btw. the name is spot on: Innocent yet sexy and dangerous :)

Apfelstrudel with cinnamon and vanilla, so delicious I can douse myself in it, and it never becomes cloying or too sweet. The apple has just enough sourness to keep the scent fresh. It is a very cosy and easy to wear scent. It is quite simple, but very well made. I agree that it is rather innocent and homey, a smell of home-made apple pie. One of the best gourmands ever! And the price is great - about 20€/40 ml here in Germany!
