Wow!

This juice has finally reached the states, it has been a European exclusive for almost 2 years now. Not sure what Joop's reasoning was behind such a delayed release, because in today's day and age we know and hear about anything and everything that gets released anywhere around the globe instantly. But for some reason unless you were in the EU, this fragrance was absent from store shelves and online retailers only until recently (at least in the US, not sure about anywhere else). With that said I've only had a small amount of time to acquaint myself with this fragrance prior to this review, but oddly enough I am finding it to be something quite special. It is a familiar scent that I have smelled in other fragrances (D&G The One EdP, Parfumes de Marly Layton, Dior Fahrenheit, Penguin Premium Blend, etc etc etc...), but it is still weirdly unique on it's own. Depending on the mood of my nose it can be overpowering and strong, then other times it is ethereal and fleeting. Sometimes it is sweet, sometimes it is a soft-spicey-woody smell, and sometimes I even get a slight green herb-like vegetable smell from it. From what I have read about Joop Wow, it seems Cashmeran is the main player in this fragrance, and possibly the only player in this fragrance. Which puts it in line with other single-accord/molecule fragrances out there. Fragrances such as Molecule 01 and the like. So you know what that means? Yup, where this fragrance shines is in layering. Once you start layering this fragrance with other fragrances, you probably will think "Wow!". This stuff adds a whole new dimension to nearly anything else out there. It's pretty decent on it's own, just like M01 is (if your nose can detect it), but may come across as being a little light and one-dimensional. But once you mix and layer it, you will realize its full potential to completely transform and reinforce your favorite fragrances. If you want Joop Wow to really Wow you, layer it. But if you just want to smell great without letting the entire world know that you are wearing a fragrance, then wear it by itself. This stuff is clearly designed to meld and blend to any type of application. So if you are the type of person who doesn't want to be "that cologne guy", using Wow on it's own will accomplish that goal. As it will blend with your own skin chemistry to make you smell like you, only better. Due to the release date of this fragrance and the restrictions of its market for the last year and a half, it is already forgotten and discarded by our community. No popular reviewers are mentioning it, Youtube or otherwise, and people just don't care since it is now so "old" by today's standards. They see 2017 and think "I haven't heard about it, therefore it's not worth my time since it is not hyped". IMO this is one of those best-kept-secret fragrances that you should try if you can. As it has a good chance of being discontinued and erased from history due to Joops poor marketing and global disbursement timing. But don't let the release date or lack of hype dissuade you from giving it a serious try.

Well, let's start like this: This thing SUPER! Even tough from a lot "experts" or whatever they call themselves, it is called: "oh nothing new, i smelled this before". Believe me, i did not smelled this before. Nothing from gucci to prada to D&G to whatever now in the stores is (and i am a maniac), nothing smells this way. Over 100 men perfumes do NOT smell like this... they smell like copies of themselves or whatever inbetween, but this? This stands way out.... well in my opinion. So if they smeled it "before" must be some kind of hidden gem, cause this? This is GREAT. If you like boozy incense (even tough has no incense) a bit sweet, woody but some how other, this can't dissapoint. This is nothing a woman would wear but... this is so warm and great no woman can stay away, no woman can say it ain't good. Indiferent maybe, but not good? Almost Imposible! This is a signature scent class for Winter... As for the "experts". Well i blind-bought a lot of "experts" stuff. A LOT! (I live in a small town, pretty much everything i owe is blind bought) and sadly what was promised failed heavy for me. Let's say i gave almost all of them "great" stuff away: too linear,, annoying, head-ache inducing, alergie inducing, too boring, simply BAD, amount the reasons... If you are in my boat, try this and tell me if this fails for you!

★★★ (3 / 5 stars) Don't expect the screeching bleachy syrupy sweetness of original joop. This is indeed powdery and unisex. Work safe. The marketing doesn't fit the scent so pay close attention to this review. (whiskey bottle but no boosy notes? Panther but no aggressive animalic notes?) Imagine a mix of the top notes and feminine vibe of Ysl Ultime, the dry down of Ysl L'Homme, the smooth classy blending of Gucci II, and the cypress and aromatic vibe of last year's hit Loewe 001 (amazing overlooked frag) - all wrapped with light vanilla and anchored with a Vetiver base. Great combination right? (I'm making it sound more epic than it is with those comparisons but joop wow is well above average) Performance upon first few wearings seemed great. Will update soon.

This is good value for money, for the price you cant complain too much. Now I said can't complain too much, and the one complaint I have, is that of its performance on skin. 2 to 3 hours is pretty weak. On clothes, its okay, around 5 hours. With that out of the way, the actual scent is quite nice, and warm/boozy ish vibe. Im not sure on CH men, but there are moments when it leans to a similar sort of smell. Its sweet and ambery, and for me personally, it is one that shouldnt be overlooked despite its longevity. Its cheap and good, add it to your range, and wear it around the house.

Maravilhoso demais! Eu andava com pés atrás com a Joop porque fiquei com pavor do Joop! Homme até que, em uma loja, a vendedora me sugeriu o Eros Flame de Versace ou esse para presente pro meu pai, que adora aromáticos e mesmo florais! Wow! Na hora me veio o cardamomo, nota que adoro. Deixei na pele para ver como seria o drydown, e foi evoluindo pro gerânio, e ficando a fava tonka com a baunilha. Muito boa fixação. Eu estava numas de usar perfumes mais femininos, florais e verdes, mas esse é um forte candidato para ser minha assinatura. E a do meu pai também 😁💕

a very rich woody and spicy fragrance with a wonderful touch of sweetness and vanilla slightly synthetic especially in the opening but nothing to noticeable. Not everyone likes it and its not a huge crowd pleaser so I would not suggest blind buying but I really dont understand why. this is a great fragrance in my opinion but there are definitely better choices at this price point (edit this was my first ever fragrance and its not very good to me anymore after ive expanded my collection its also definetly not vanilla or spicy lol)

I actually really like this fragrance. The first reaction was that it kinda smells like a spicy, musky orange candy. I definitely get warm orange for some reason, probably because of the bottle. Its nice and smells like a wintery night out kind of scent. Its not overly masculine and actually smells quite sweet, and it lasted the night and probably about 5 hours into the day. To sum it up, imagine a slightly musky, spicy sweet orange candy. Can be worn by anyone.

WoW! Totally enjoyable. The cashmere in this is a winner. It really brings it home. A weekend at the cabin with a nice fire in the stove and a cuddle with the ol' lady. I might say I get a little Azzaro Wanted from this but it does its own thing. It is definately part of my fall/winter rotation. It is a far cry from the JOOP standards. It has the performance and longevity of JOOP and is the best of the bunch. 8/10 over all

Very nice fragrance. It’s very similar to CH Men by Carolina Herrera. It has the same ingredients with the exception of tonka beans and violet. CH I find more green probably due to the grass note and it really brings out the other notes and it has a stronger projection. Wow with similar scent is a bit boozy and creamy and doesn’t have a strong blast as CH Men but it’s really close to the skin and sophisticated

There is something soft and subtle about the character of this which I love. The opening is a strong sweet tonka and vanilla which could become overpowering, but the cashmere wood and cardamom turn it velvety smooth. Some people say it's a beast.. I think it projects very well, but the nature of the fragrance isn't in your face at all. Sophisticated and understated, regardless of what you think of the brand!

I don't get all the hate for this one. I think it's the best thing to come out of this house for ages, the fragrance has a pretty original, unusual, almost medicinal vibe, which on first try I disliked but warmed to. Longevity is excellent, and as it develops it improves, I liked it enough to get the fragrance, balm and deodorant. Thumbs up from me.

Absolutely love this essence. Very fresh, masculine. Price is excellent, sadly the longevity is minimal. It is a wonder how someone can make such a wonderful perfume with such low durability. It is so good that, nonetheless, I will purchase new bottles to have as back up. They say there is a Joop Wow EDP, but I cannot find it for sale anywhere.

A really lovely woody, amber, vanilla and violet perfume. Longevity and silage are moderate to good. This reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme II The dry down turns boozy (a little) and stays sweet. This is the best bit. WOW is a lovely spicy masculine perfume with character - I love this folks. I think this could be a classic. It's in my top 20

Not sure about all the dislikes for this. Yes, it's a crowd pleaser, and to my nose it is almost identical to Gucci Pour Homme 2, but its still a nice scent. It may be on the generic side and will be a relatively safe blind buy but i found the performance very adeqate. Projection is moderate and longevity is a decent 5 - 6 hours. 7/10.

It does not smell quite like anything i have i my collection, and that alone may be enought to say wow for me. I get this sweet berries sort of vibe that i find plesant. As mentioned its not very loud its soft but still very nice in its own way. I like it because its different, not because its groundbreaking or anything. Worth a sniff.

The smell is good ..has some sweetness and freshness, even the price is good and it would be great if the performance was better. But we'll admit that in the fragrances world you'll never get everything you want in one bottle. So just try it before buying it and if you like it, take it why not it'll not break your bank after all.

A better one from Joop! I think. Actually a pretty nice, warm fragrance. Dry down reminds me of YSL la nuit de l'homme, only YSL is more complex and sophisticated. Projects well for about 6-8 hours and remains a skin scent for a veeery long time. Last time I sprayed it on in the afternoon and it stayed on over night.

Chose this over V&R Spicebomb when making a direct comparison in the store. For me, they both hit the same spot, while Spicebomb being sweeter and somewhat more complex, and Wow! being dryer with a really prominent cardamom note. It's also nice that the price is 1/4th of Spicebomb.

Best joop I smelled yet think 2/3 ch men, and 1/3 ysl ultime. Those are two of my favorite fragrances of all time so I’m in love with this stuff. It is kind of weak though after a short while so I will use it for warmer weather to see if that helps it perform better

Very good one from joop, it actually projects and lasts a lot longer than i first thought, i am enjoying wearing this catching whiffs from it all the time, it does in fact remind me of ysl ultime, only this one is sweeter and a bit more syrupy, nice scent.

i actually really like this smell. only problem is its on the soft side so smelling it is kind of hard. but the smell is really nice guys. is has a ch men vibe but its not a clone. overall very pleasant smell but low projection decent longevity

I love Joop Wow, it’s probably my most complimented fragrance and my personal favourite, it’s the perfect cozy masculine and slightly sexy fragrance with just enough warmth. If you’re a fall person, you’ll love it.

As other reviewers have mentioned,this juice is a much more luxe product than previous offerings from Joop.The notes of cardamom,vetiver & vanilla are particularly great.All in all this is a top men's fragrance.

This is a nice discovery! Opens up really warm boozy, dry down is heavy cashmeran (in almost all new fragrances), woody/spicy with an ozonic touch in the background, quite nice. Nice as a signature scent.

A rich, sweet, deep, creamy and floral vanilla. It has a very good performance too. It does have the WOW factor for me. This is delicious. I'll buy a second bottle, I don't want To run out of this gem.

A smooth, mellow smell. The vanilla, bergamot and violet beautifully blended together. Moderate performance. WOW has a lovely character. Similar to Hanae Mori HiM. It's a love from me.

A nice pleasant smooth spicy frag. The vanilla makes it last. I would rather have Obsession myself. It hasn't got the wow factor but it's worth a try.

Seeing the new comments, this must be reformulated badly, the first formulation is one of the best scents! Find older bottle and you will enjoy. 8/10

I think I found my third signature scent. It is warm, mysterious amd classy. It carries emotions. EDIT: terrible staying power on my skin

Just one thing to remember.You have to pull the black cap off to reveal the vaporisateur mechanism.Anyway,have a Happy Xmas everyone!

Tried a sample today, i quite like it! performance is good,smells good, nice presentation, good price... whats to dislike about it?

My fiancée wears this, it’s so warm and cuddly! Sometimes I steal a spray or two from him because it’s a lovely unisex scent.

Joop wow! Despite the ridiculous name which I can live with, and the orange box and uninspiring design, which again I actually think is striking in its own way. I can even live with the 'have to have' gimmick of the cap being like a polo mint, something I admit is a first on me...what I couldn't live with is if this scent is awful. To tell you the truth Wow! Is not awful. It's kinda got shades of a rubbery spicebomb or a less classy Gucci PHII you know that kind of sweet spicing and direction. It opens much more sweet and pungent with a bubblegum and synthetic berry accord though before it settles to that more familiar Spicebomb territory. The point is here that Wow! is not Spicebomb and I can get how it might be heavier in cardamom but the individual notes are a bit lost in this messy composition. Basically wow has all the crass DNA you'd expect from a Joop fragrance and (although I don't currently own any) I really do say that from a place of love....just. I desperately want to like some of the pour homme flankers that have graced our shelves in recent years but they all have the same balls out disregard for subtlety and nuance. Hey some people want that and Joop certainly provide it, in spades. As you enter into this really settling down, I thought it was a bit of a weakling but it's gently projecting and do you know what? I don't hate it. It's clumsy and troublesome but by no means awful if you don't mind a sweet, slightly icky, spiced fragrance then it's worth a sniff. The silage was quite good at first as I kept getting unexpected wafts but the general strength and longevity is nothing notable. I'm not wowed by wow!

I felt the WOW at first smell, but that wow didn't last long... Bought the 1.4oz mini bottle at Burlington earlier today just because it was $14. This is a sweet, warm and smoooooth frag! It has the JOOP dna but is fresher and even smoother with the Cashmeran, vanilla and tonka bean. This frag is just comfort in a bottle, much like "JOOP Homme" was back in high school in the 90's. Unfortunately it's got the lifespan of a Burberry fragrance...2-4 hours....bleh. I haven't smelled the "JOOP Homme" dna in over 15-20 years and it's a warm welcome back into those loving soft warm arms. Wow...how did I ever NOT have this in my collection all these adult years!?!?!?! In spite of the great scent...it just doesn't last long enough so I will definitely NOT be picking up a larger bottle of this in the near future. EDIT: This would have to be layered with something stronger to MAYBE last the full work day. As it stands, this frag will be a "Comfort wear at home" only as it's sillage is pretty close to skin and the longevity of the frag is only 2-4 hours max. I love love love the smell...but it's a two-pump-chump fragrance. =

Quite a good release from the house of Joop. I’m not a fan of the regular Joop Male, so I was happy to see that this didn’t smell anything like that. It’s quite boozy to me, I pick up a slight cherry almost bitter scent when you first spray. The magic lies in its dry-down when it becomes a beautiful and smooth warm boozy scent, a touch of leather too I think. My nose isn’t well trained so there’s a chance that these notes aren’t actually what I’m smelling but it’s just my interpretation of it. Like all Joop’s, the staying power is strong, spraying in the morning I could still smell 8 hours later, that lovely dry-down scent. Mmmmm it’s nice. But like all Joop’s, it’s dangerously close to being cloying if oversprayed, I think if I went too far with this then it’d be a headache-y type fragrance, so wear with subtlety I say. I like this, I’d certainly recommend it, it’s quite sexy and smart, different to the usual crop of men’s frags out there. Bottle is beautiful. 8/10.

I'm gonna start of with the bottle design and juice colour, I don't know what it is about it but I absolutely love it! Atomiser works great, and the lid was cool as well. Now the juice itself, I live in Australia and Joop brand is easy and cheap to buy here. To be honest I never liked anything from this house until now, Joop wow is not wow that's for sure, however it's definitely nice. To me it smells like the sweetness of ch men, followed by a 3 way tie combination of the soft powdery amber tonka scent of le male, Prada luna rossa sport (I absolutely love) and givenchy play. So if you like any of those chances are you're going to like this as well. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, I really do like this one. It's going to stay in my collection, I decided to wear it to bed and found it so addicting and comforting. Can't wait to try it out this autumn I think it will be perfect for a cooler weather not quite winter but spring autumn. Blind buy worthy for me

Wow a wannabe CH for Men? SOTD: Joop Wow: As of 01/03/19 My opinion review of Joop Wow is a nice scent has a bit the CH for Men similarities or scent DNA, but has a tone down vibe than CH for Men. I have the CH for Men the reformulation version and the newer design, when sniff both of them really similar but different. Wow didn't wow me, but made me rethink on who to reach for on occasions. Liked the balanced scent of cashmere, Vanilla and Tonka bean. Is a must have in any collection if you don't have CH for Men reformulation or OG. Rating Scent: 7.5/10 Presentation/Design: 8.5/10 Value: 6.5/10 Performance/Longevity: 8.5/10: Duration on my skin pushing close to 14+ hrs Overall: 7.5/10

This reminds me a bit of Bogart Pour Homme. Maybe it's because of the sweet cherry vibe and the tonka bean note. I would say it's something between Bogart Pour Homme, CH Men and Bentley Momentum Intense. Not as mature scent as Bogart but slightly spicier due to the cardamom note I guess. When I smell this close to my skin I get some Bentley Momentum Intense vibe, and I understand why some people say Joop Wow is similar to CH Men, but this one has not the green touch of CH Men nor it's "freshness". Not for summer or high heat weather. Above average longevity and projection. Not sure yet if Joop Wow is suitable for young people under 25. Nice scent by the way, but nothing WOW.

A lot darker than I thought it would be, with a nice masculine woody vibe and something a bit different, a note that I'm not terribly familiar with, but a good one. It could be the violet leaf, yeah probably is, because I get a lingering metallic element in the scent that intrigues me. Check this one out, it's different. It has the soft vanilla and fruity thing going on, but it's toned down, and the darker big boy elements dominate. Nice one Joop, you've done something very interesting here.

Sampled it from the "Ed Sheran" issue of GQ and rubbed my wrist in the tiny peel off sample. It reminded me of CARTIER "L'Envol" very much, so for me it I a rip-off, the poor man's version of Cartier. Very pleasant, yes indeed, but not very long-lived, sadly. Not a "Wow" factor overall, but I am sure they're working on the intense version as we speak. 5/10. Just too flighty and weak, compared to quality frags.

You like Cashmeran? Here you go, have a ball. You also get a woody-aromatic-creamy combo that smells oddly natural (esp. the wood side) and well worth it's 30€/100ml price I paid. The bottle presentation is bizarre as there's nothing boozy in here. The vetiver and "cashmere wood" notes appear to have traded places in fragrantica. The projection is low and the longevity office-range 6-8h

If you unlabel the bottle and you spray it, i can swear it's something Cartier would do, i donno why but i consider it like the same family with that kind of smells, classy, mystique, gentleman way kind. I will say i really like it but i cannot explain why. I just do enjoy this and i really think that Joop prove they can do more than just vulgar and strong smells (Joop Homme).

Nice scent, very Cashmeran heavy although you definitely get the vanilla tonka vibe as well. Personally I don't get anything particularly boozy like the bottle may suggest. Since its fairly one note you do get a little nose blind to it, but I do catch whiffs of it in the air throughout the day so I think the performance is actually pretty decent.

I liked the look of this fragrances simple design. I tried it out at the first opportunity. When first applying it to my skin it reminded me of Givenchy Gentlemen casual chic with a woodier base. It was nothing amazing, but pleasant. Unfortunately the Sillage was weak and its longevity was short, so its a no from me.

I tested today only on paper strip and I can smell strong pepper with wood and vetiver in a good way, I really enjoy, I find this unisex, fresh, clean and just a little sweetness, so should be perfect in Spring and Summer. Reminds me something in the past, but dont know which cologne smells similar to Joop! wow :)

Pleasant, nice and comforting scent. Soft and soothing to nose. Nothing ground breaking nor overtly masculine. Soft sweet floral fragrance like scented candle. Reminds me if ambre noir by yves rocher. Projection and sillage remains soft too. I like the colour and design of bottle. 6 out of 10 for me
