Elevated subtle lotion/paper/laundry scent, in the same ballpark as Chanel's Comete - they share a subtle almond facet - although definitely identifiable as 'not Chanel', I guess Jorum is too niche-quirky for that. Approached from a different angle, this is what I would have liked from Diptyque's L'Eau Papier. Very easy to wear and at the no-perfume-perfume/normcore end of the scale, but multifaceted enough that it keeps you guessing and thinking. On the website the blurb suggests wearing Opaline as a base for other scents, which I'd really like to try. EDIT: I'm wearing this lots and still enjoying it - it's low-key, cleverly balanced, chalky, lotiony, almondy and a teensy bit sweet. However, when I went back to the website the other day I was, once again, annoyed by the fanatasy note list provided, which (as for every Jorum scent I've tried) is just so far from what I'm getting. My nose is not particularly sophisticated and I don't take as much time as I might trying to match named notes to my scent-experience (which is arguably a valid part of the game of fragrance). However, as descriptions of scents that the online buyer can't purchase samples of, the note lists for the LE perfumes in particular could be a lot plainer and less emperor's-new-clothesish: the perfumes are good, the notes that are actually detectable are interesting, and they don't need the hype. EDIT: layered with Confetto this is stunning!

my first blind buy ever but i had to since i love jorum so much. i am SO glad i did--this perfume is so gorgeous... it has the clean sweet creamy smell of a beige mid century modern hotel (this part reminds me of andrea maack's ceramic). there is also something sunscreeny and vacationy in there, which reminds me of my childhood. it smells like a dream!!

a creamy warmth that reminds me of the brief period between slumber and wakefulness where actuality and dreams blend. placing a flower tenderly behind a lover’s ear, locking pinkies, sharing soft whispers. gentle, like tufts of cotton. dreading the day i finish my bottle...

A second review to say that this is definitely a summer perfume; it blooms in the heat. Much more nuanced and beautiful at 20c plus

I bought a bottle of this back in july and really haven’t reached for it much since then. i bought it because everything about it looked and sounded completely irresistible to me, and given the fact that it was a limited release, i just took a chance. it’s a very clean, prim and proper fragrance- very lotion-esque, which is not my cup of tea at all. i was expecting something a lot more creamy, buttery and airy, not so thick and lotiony/powdery. personal preferences aside, it is a gorgeous, expertly crafted perfume. longevity and sillage are phenomenal, and the scent itself is beautiful. it’s such high quality and just like all other jorum fragrances, very unique. but frankly and unfortunately i just don’t love it because it’s not very me. i think i would be willing to swap this with a bottle of trimerous— if anyone reading this would be interested in that exchange?

Gave me instant flashback to when I would use my sisters bodybutter In the almond scent from the body shop without her knowing, i didn't even particularly like the smell of almond essence then or now, because that's what this smells like almond essence. It is pleasant, very skin like and in the background there is a warm herbal muskiness which i wish would take center stage, if you like the smell of almond lotions, this is for you. I don't smell a single flower⚘️

Opens up with powdery almond, adds lotion and heliotrope notes 2 hours in. It's nice, but I wish the other listed notes would have been a tad stronger to make it more interesting. If you put your nose to your arm you can detect more nuance, especially once the strong almond powder opening fades a bit.

I blind bought this one. I'm really trying to like it ... It's not a bad fragrance per se it's just not for me. On my skin it is chalky and too powdery/dusty. I almost cannot smell any of the other notes. I was expecting from frangipani but it's too discrete to be noticeable. It's smells like soapy abstract body lotion more than anything else and it annoys me. I read several good reviews of this one so I think this might have something to do with my skin chemistry. Staying power and silage is excellent and this is a top quality fragrance.

The opening smells a lot like Johnson&Johnson baby shampoo- the one in the yellow bottle. This dries down into more general powderiness with subtle purple florals. Easy work appropriate wear, surprisingly long lasting. Going to try layering it - maybe something vanilla heavy for a lovely clean powdered vanilla?
