Spiritcask

What an interesting and unique scent! Very complex, high quality, very natural smelling... and that "damp/old wood" smell is easily the most photorealistic I've ever come across. It's actually a little mind boggling how well Eaun has replicated that smell - I was instantly transported to a memory (fixing an old damp wooden fence with my dad as a child)... I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with an "accord". 😮 Looking at the notes, one would expect it to be heavy and dense and sickly, like Bentley for Men Intense or Bvlgari Man in Black or Roja Enigma - but this isn't that. It's light, airy, diffusive, smooth (but still very long lasting off my skin). It's a boozy scent for people who don’t like boozy scents. It doesn't leap off the skin and slap you in the face, it more just lingers in the air around you and sillages with lots of complex, smooth notes. I know marketing is what it is, but to me it honestly does smell like the inside of an old retired whisky barrel. Not one that is still dripping with liquor, but an old one that has dried out and just holds onto the faint whispers of what was in their before. The wood has absorbed so much over the years that even when it "dries", it never truly dries, so the wood feels both dry AND damp... if you smelled that wood inside the barrel, I feel this is what it would smell like. It kinda reminds me of taking Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser, making the wood less harsh and more photorealistic (and more "damp"), upping the sweetness and vanilla a tad (but not in a sickly way), adding a bunch of soft boozy diffusive notes to the background, and upping the quality. I'm in no way saying this is inspired by MOAT, this is definitely its own thing (and much easier on the nose, I found MOAT to be a bit too harsh), but with them both being wood and vanilla scents, it's the closest reference point I can think of. Very impressive perfumery - I think once more people get their noses on this stuff I can see it being quite the best seller. Heck, with enough influencer hype I could see this becoming a bit of a hype beast. I definitely haven't smelled anything else truly like it. 🙌🏻 P.s. Due to it's complexity, I can definitely see this being one of those scents that smells different to different people (as is reflected in these reviews). There's so much going on and it's so well blended that it really is hard to pin down or describe exactly what you're smelling...

TLDR: Tried it, loved it, bought it. I started with a sample because I like Jorum but my previous experience has led me to believe this is not a house to blind buy. I need at least a few wearing experiences to know for sure. First wear- all I got was whiskey. Bitter, strong and sharp. Almost hot toddy with a bit of spice in the background but an absolute mess to unpack. I expected to not understand it on first wear so no biggie. Second wear- it went in expecting harsh and got something muuuch softer. It opened whiskey but I could detect both maple and vanilla this time. As it dried it's got a bit a creamier and I could pick woody notes out of the still prominent whiskey accord. More enjoyable for sure but I could tell there's more to understand Third wear- this time I expected to enjoy it. The creamy woody experience i could detect from the start (probably because my nose was searching for it) and it paired beautifully with the whisky and maple accords. Now that my nose has figured out those notes, I discovered the gently layered cacao and coffee notes. I couldn't find them until about 2ish hours in but they are more supporting characters rather than main players. I never got the pear note. I love chamomile but I can't recognize or find it. But what I get...I love. This was a fragrance I needed to pull apart and put back together to fully understand and enjoy but it is 100% worth it. I let myself finish the sample and go a bit before I pulled the trigger on a full bottle. I wanted to be sure I missed it and had a few occasions I would have reached for it but had to choose something else. This one is different and I encourage everyone to experience this for themselves

I'll be honest, at first I wasn't in love. On my first few wears, Spiritcask smelled like dirt and mentholated hay. Very autumnal, but... grassy, haylike, and certainly not the gourmand thing I was expecting. Now my thoughts have changed and I'm glad I held off on writing a review until now. I was on the verge of selling my bottle but decided to test it one more time. Spiritcask is quite unique and left a strong impression on me, though I didn't know it at the time. Despite only having worn it a few times, I was immediately reminded of autumn - the scent of a sunny, autumn day while you're picking apples at an orchard, with the faint mix of soil, woods, and damp hay from the petting zoo. Even more, I smell menthol, chocolate chip cookies, malt and vanilla (there is a tiny hint of Dama Bianca in here!), boozy but not in the beverage way, more so the aged barrel the booze is kept in. But don't expect anything along the lines of a sweet boozy thing like Angels' Share or Herod. This scent is unique, interesting, weird... However you'd like to describe it - it's not mass appealing in any sense, do not buy this expecting compliments. Spiritcask is a personal scent I wear for myself and I'm unsure how other people would perceive it. Be warned, there's a slight musty quality in here. Still, to me Spiritcask is beautiful, unique and complex scent.

[Spiritcask] ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️ Begins with an old leather jacket connotation, lifted with a soft mint imperial note. Musty and herbal like a vintage biker jacket you’d find on a hanger in a thrift shop. No terpenoids or violet like typical leathers. It is quiet and comfortable. It is broken in with years of love and wear. Complete with patina, cracks and wrinkles as though it has lived a life twice over. This is supported by a delicious vanilla recreation (maybe containing a little absolute). It is creamy, balsamic and sticky sweet with a gentle suggestion of aged woods humming underneath. After the initial leather jacket blast, this perfume soon settles into the linear, high quality vanilla with a backbone of old, textured woods. Spiritcask makes for a very interesting and mature vanilla centric fragrance. It masters the brief and does well to have not strayed into paths lesser perfumes would have taken. I’m really impressed with my initial exposure to Jorum Studio. Reasonably priced, interesting perfumes and a clear brand identity. I will be diving deeper into their offerings very soon.

this opens with a slightly herbal heavily boozy pear smell. The booze here is warm, smooth, and slightly spiced, with the whiskey being the most prominent to my nose. The heart has a gorgeous blend of creamy and sweet florals, the ylang ylang here pulling banana-esque and the malt really evokes a bready booziness. The boozy accords stay throughout the entirety of the scent, especially in the dry down where you get a fun concoction of chocolate, coffee, and maple. This sounds like it’d be overtly sweet but it’s not, the maple is sweet but woody forward especially with the oak + cedar here. The coffee is a dark roast and the chocolate a dark one. The whiskey comes out on top again but this is a sweetened one, it’s blended with vanilla liqueur, and it’s oh so woody. This is a veryyyy complex scent but it’s extremely intoxicating.

It's very strange, very unusual. There is often a lot of drama in niche fragrances, many are like bad actors, acting out drama out of nowhere or being pretentious. But this one is so naturally unusual, like it wasn't trying to be unusual at all, but that's just the way it is. It's a true work of art. Every time it smells a little different. It's so rounded, everything is very finely ground. But if I had to pick the most important note in the pyramid, it would be red maple leaf. Not literally, but the idea of an autumn red maple leaf. It's that warm, sunny, soft and calm early autumn. Nature hasn't started to decompose yet, only a little acidity and earthiness comes through. And this is a very pleasant acquaintance with a relatively young brand, probably the most pleasant and interesting discovery of the year for me.

I love this scent. L O V E Spiritcask is a creamy woody vanilla with feminine leaning whisky notes — a first for me as booze notes tends to go masculine with my chemistry. It’s the most intoxicating scent I’ve come across in a long time. In the dry down, the florals are very pronounced. I have a new favorite house; Jorum has the potential to bankrupt me. I’m so glad they sell their perfumes in 30 ml, making it affordable for junkies like me to keep collecting. But seriously, with Spiritcask, I wish I could buy a vat...or barrel of it. It’s that good. Going onto my list of top 10 now. I’m drunk in love with my Luckscent sample, and pining for a full bottle. EDIT 12.27.25 Dreams do come true, I bought a 50 ml. from Jorum yesterday.

Delicately boozy with light chocolate in the background and a prominent juicy pear note. Decadent and classy. This is something a wealthy, classy gentleman might wear to a big Christmas with family. It's dressy in a playful way. Like a loosened belt buckle on a pair of dress pants after a nice Christmas dinner, as you feel the warmth of a few glasses of wine and enjoy some spirited banter with uncles and aunts you only see once a year. Everyone is well dressed, but the warmth of being with family renders it loose and informal at the same time. I think I will get a bottle. It gives me cozy, cheery feelings.

I happily stumbled across the Jorum flagship store while passing through Edinburgh, and eventually took a gamble (educated, with the help of a fantastic shop assistant!) on Spiritcask as a gift for my partner back home. It totally paid off; it’s now his signature :) This is the most gorgeous scent — boozy in a subtle way, warm, comforting, woody, sophisticated vanilla. I definitely also get a minty note which is interestingly not listed, but I think it fits in nicely. It’s definitely unisex overall, but the dry-down can lean masculine. It truly lives up to the name. Very excited to try more from Jorum!

It was *so hard* to choose just two Jorum scents to bring home full bottles of, but Spiritcask won out because I was in Scotland as a tourist & I just can't think of a better memento to bring home! Really impressed with this entire line & house, Euan McCall knows his shit. What excited me about this was the potential to use it as a summer-to-fall transition scent, and the way the whiskey notes are almost chocolatey. It's a gourmand, maybe, but not a toothsome one and certainly not a painfully literal one. Bravo.

Jorum Studio has some excellent offerings with this being one of them. I love boozy fragrances, this one being exquisite. this is much different than Angel Share which I also love. This has a really whiskey pear mixture which comes through on my skin. I’m still testing this but I have to say so far so good! this is also very sweet woody vanilla in the dry down which is beautiful together with all the liquor in this one! Highly recommended! 10/10 As for longevity can’t say yet will let you know!

I love it more and more) Interesting, I considered Spiritcask to be a purely cold-season-perfume. But I wear it now in very warm weather and catch a refreshing minty note. Mint vanilla. Nice trick) So it works differently in different seasons. In winter - it's a mustard plaster and a glass of whiskey, in autumn - dry fallen leaves, in hot spring - it's chamomile, grass and mint. In more than 10 years of my perfume hobby, I have never encountered such a kaleidoscope.

Got the sample at 1:00 pm and had ordered a bottle by 2:00 pm. Total love at first sniff. There are a lot of notes, but they are blended very well. The ones I can pick out are whisky, woods, and vanilla, but this fragrance also brings to mind some delicious herbal liqueur made by monks in a cloistered monastery. Not a projector, but I can smell it on me and that's all that matters. In the words of Marie Kondo, this sparks joy. Great joy!

I know this is meant to be worn in cooler weather... but there’s something so fresh and delectable about this that I can absolutely see this being worn in the spring or summer months. It’s very bright and cooling, it definitely smells like a York chocolate mint patty with a sort of boozy? Undertone. It’s definitely for the cold months but I swear it could be worn year round

I enjoy this one a lot. Definitely has a light minty vanilla scent with some coffee/chocolate in the background. Don't get a lot of booze or pear once it settles but this really comes to life in the warmer weather for me. Like most of Jorum scents, I'd say to try a sample first but they are well worth checking out for something a little bit different

'Spiritcask' is exactly what you would expect from a fragrance called spiritcask. Very woody, alcoholic and with a slight sweetness to it from fermented fruits and flowers. There is a vanillic undertone to it, which ties the sweetness together without it being too overpowering, and still keeping its woody integrity. On my skin it is serving up the malt, sweet and brown, but the whiskey is still the main ingredient even though the pear initially is fighting for a moment in the spotlight. The initial drydown is also giving a lot of different woods but when I am lookin at the notes I can still pick apart the flowers in this even though they are well blended in. All of these notes blended together is really giving the fragrance that leathery character. When I have worn it for some time and it settles down on my skin it has turned very masculine. The chocolate (cacao) and coffee can be picked apart and they are very complimentary in this blend. But it is the wood and the whiskey that are the stars in this perfume and that shows through and through. I love the storytelling from this perfume, really makes me feel like I am standing amidst the actual casks and sampling adult whiskey that I absolutely do not like the taste of, but love the smell of. Would I wear this? Probably not. Do I think other people would wear this? Don't know. But the most important question, do I want to smell it more? Absolutely yes.

I thankfully don’t get the ylang ylang (not a fave) or coffee, but I do genuinely think I smell all the rest of the notes when I am looking at the list. If I don’t have a map to the whiskey and environmental accord, it all just melds pretty nicely into a whiskey plus gently and botanically sweet something or other. You really get the whiskey upfront, though it’s not too astringent or that spicy sort of grain alcohol punch to the nose. The sweetness comes through and grows stronger fairly quickly. It seems pretty well balanced for all the notes. It’s novel and well-made, to my nose. It feels like a cool spring evening on a farm in the rolling hills of the Highlands where your little white cottage is all there is as far as the eye can see, other than the lush hillsides and peek of the sea in the distance between them. You’re sitting down by a warm fire after a long day of work milling grain, tracking in the sweet scent of hay, pouring yourself a post-dinner drink. Very evocative, and almost melancholy. Nice work. 7.5/10.

Projecting from my neck to my nose, booze, whisky barrel, minty accord with perhaps a touch of chocolate. Different, nice, wearable, a little strange. But in a natural way. There are those who desire to be provocative just because they can be. They are showman with a flair for the dramatic, Orto Parisi anyone? Then there is this. I picture Euan tinkering away in his Scottish bothy developing fragrances from local ingredients. Since this is Edinburgh and not Grasse this is what we get. I am here for it. Be forewarned on the opening, nose to skin, this is somewhat unpleasant. There is a moldy, musty note that rapidly fades, it only lasts about 15 minutes. I am wondering if the mint I smell is coming from the spices. Performance is fair. It projects well for about four hours then is a skin scent. It starts to fade after about eight hours. I used to ignore fragrances that perform like this but they definitely have their place. Sometimes it is nice to not get continuously punched in the nose by a fragrance for 16 hours.

I bought this last summer in Montreal and for the better part of a year have struggled with how to wear it, but think I finally cracked it this morning. I've always viewed it as "boozy" because of all the liquor notes, and therefore nighttime/going out. But, every time I wore it out, it felt too sweet and clean, which I think is due to that strong chamomile element - really smells more of mint to me. Was worried if I wore it during the daytime I’d smell like whiskey. But this morning I just thought "fuck it" and sprayed before heading out, and let me tell you - in this misty early spring morning it's beautiful. It turns out this is *barely* a booze scent, maybe not at all. It's a minty chocolate puff, and the booze just comes through like as the gentlest little shadow of depth and ferment. It keeps the whole thing from being too sweet, but beyond that, it's not really there. Daytime wear from now on!

This does remind me of a more complex version of Eau Duelle or Vanille Insensee. They aren't smell alikes, but similar in that they are non-gourmand woody vanillas. Spiritcask, which I did end up buying, has initial minty and boozy facets, the alcohol-soaked oak barrel, and a smokiness to it. There's nothing edible about this. It's a bit odd, but also one the more wearable perfumes from Jorum. I personally wouldn't blind buy this as there are definitely aspects that I could see being non-pleasing to some who prefer a more gourmand take on vanilla. I personally don't love sweet, foody perfumes, or even vanilla forward perfumes all that much. But I really enjoy the atmosphere of this one. Update: I just sprayed my cat's catnip spray onto something for him and it smells like this perfume , lol!

I pick up a distant similarity to Bogue MEM simply because Spiritcask also uses a lot of malt. It is a musky, herbal, wheaty note that smells like spilled beer and dominates whatever fragrance it is in. Once you smell a couple fragrances which share this accord you will recognize it immediately. That’s where the similarities with MEM end however, because Spiritcask is a subtly sweet woody vanilla fragrance at its core. I can definitely see a minty chocolate thing going on as well. It is pleasant but a little bit strange and should definitely be sampled before purchasing. Leans to the “fragrance as art” end of the spectrum but sweet enough to earn a lot of fans. 8.1/10

this is such a spicy, boozy gourmand. it smells like a decadent spiced rum soaked chocolate cake topped with caramelized pears. it’s like the more matured, intimidating relative of Pentimento from their selective memory collection. not a fan of chocolate cake or dark alcoholic spirits or gourmands so this is NOT for me. but literally speaking, with my personal preferences put aside, this fragrance is gorgeous. it’s sublimely blended and ultra smooth. there aren’t any harsh angles or rough edges, it’s completely rounded. seductively boozy, romantic and moreish.... if you’re into it these sort of notes. tbh, i feel like there’s a chance it might grow on me.

Airy and herbal, but woody and sweet. It has a very nice in the air feel of naturalness but with that undercurrent of booziness. I kind of got the pear which helps with the fruity airiness, and just touches of coffee but not much. The maple note makes this have a little bit of overlap with the drydown of Bowmakers, but it has a more herbal tone than the resinous tone that Bowmakers does overall. Impressed with the first sample of this house.

This is a complex scent with a fairly intimate silage. The notes combined are hard to disentangle but upon dry down the woody-herbal-whiskey notes become more distinguishable and appear to be natural/high quality. May be worth the price tag if you are okay with a skin scent.

Truly yummy my opinion. Herbal but boozy, sweet but woody. I’d prefer my husband to wear this fragrance. And I enjoy it in the same way I enjoy kissing him after he’s taken a swig of bourbon and popped a mint.

A very unique scent that I really enjoy wearing. I especially enjoyed the very smooth malt dry down. Note: I normally enjoy fresh/blue fragrances and dislike heavier scents.

Starts off very boozy but with a distinct smell of mint (maybe just me). It then turns into a nice warmer sweeter scent and although nice, not my kind of perfume

This smells like the scented my little ponys of my childhood. How wonderful. plactic, metal, cold but with a girly juicy plum overtone. Almost smells snowy.

a nice woody whisky scent! Really exciting but a little too sweet to be FB worthy for me. Christmasy somehow. Chamomile is a fascinating touch

Starts off a little herbal, almost medicinal, and then dries down in about 30 minutes to what Baileys would be like as a fragrance.

My first impression is a dark green, medicinal and woody, herbal liqueur. More like Jägermeister, rather than whisky. In the background, there is a sweetness, but this is certainly not overly sweet, but just the right amount. Something appears medicinal, which is a big no-no for me. Dark green and woody liqueur. As previous reviewer mentioned, it's actually quite light, and not very heavy as I expected. It's nice, but I'm not blown away. There are much more interesting boozy scents out there, like Palais Nizam and Les Bains Douches by Les Bains Guerbois. Later thoughts. I like this more, and more. It's very personal and unique, and the quality is just superb. Very strong, but not overpowering. More like a full body. There is a certain airy freshness from the pear, which balances the boozy and slightly vanilic nuances. It's lovely. It has certainly been growing on me over the last couple of months.

Reviewing a sample from 2024. Spiritcask was launched in 2023. This is a warm vanilla rum fragrance. Spiritcask opens with a boozy flash of mostly rum followed by creamy Ylang-Ylang and jasmine tempered by an herbal accord. The base is predominantly sweet woody vanilla. The florals bridge the boozy and woody notes beautifully. This is simpler, softer, sweeter and creamier than I expected for a fragrance called Spiritcask. Overall, this is too sweet and gourmand for my personal taste. I would have liked less sweetness, more labdanum, leather and perhaps some woody smokiness to make it more unisex and add interest to the base. Quality- very good 3.5/5 Unisex- leans feminine Performance- very good 4/5 Spiritcask may well be Jorum's version of a vanilla gourmand and it is lovely albeit not very complex. Definitely one for vanilla lovers to check out. 7.5/10

It’s very sweet, like a fruit liqueur. So sweet that the liqueur wasn’t enough, and someone poured caramel into it and stirred. When I looked at the notes I was like, wow, there’s so much going on here, but the syrupy sweetness is so dominant that I can’t focus on anything else. The boozy feel and a lightly malty facet clearly aim for that deep-winter, cozy comfort vibe. Still, it’s too much for me. In the drydown, it becomes more tolerable. If you’re patient enough to wait it out, a milky, woody base finally shows up, along with some aromatic facets. Tag(s): Sweet, caramel, gourmand, fruity, malty, woody, boozy

A non-generic vanilla. It's quite nice! Although the pear note in here I feel clashes with this scent. It's not a bad smell but it's not something I'd prefer in this. The pear note is definitely realistic in here though and ignoring the other smells, I feel if the vanilla was replaced by milk, cream or some other light, milky scent then I'd prefer this but apparently there's so many other notes in here aswell yet I don't smell them. I'd need to try it on my skin sometime and see if my opinion changes

Smells like an empty cask that had whiskey/rum in and has a touch of beautiful chocolate richness. If this chocolate was in a more gourmand scent if would be perfection. Still this is one of the better scents from Jorum Studio, I'd say maybe top 3-5.

What are you smoking people. Chamomile and white pear with some cream and aromatics, lactones, maybe aldehydes in a body balm/sunscreen way. Not sure where most of the notes com from.

Vanilla liqueur, with a strong coffee-chocolate note emerging in the middle, before settling back into vanilla liqueur at the end.

Has an EDT effect. The chamomile is nice. It’s overall just ok. It’s a little different but not memorable.

I like a good honest boozy fragrance, and at first Spiritcask promises to be that -- a realistic whiskey scent -- but within a few minutes the alcohol burns off and I'm left with more of a brown woody vanilla. It's warm and sweet, with no kick to it at all. Then there's a growing herbal nuance from the chamomile, a sort of hay-and-dried-herbs golden-brown scene. This phase is wholly inedible, even medicinal, with a cooling bite to it that some call "minty" (though it isn't really mint.) Then Spiritcask returns to that mild woody vanilla. It's a mellow aura, medium brown, not really dark or boozy. (Also no detectable leather, guaiac, chocolate, or coffee.) I've sometimes wished for a vanilla that smells super deep and liquored like opening a bottle of vanilla extract; but this ain't it. It's not a light sugary vanilla either; it's just...medium. I'm not sure Spiritcask really works. The herbal phase doesn't fit well with the woody-vanilla theme; if we're going for cozy warmth, the chilly herbal potion is working at cross-purposes.

Oh my god, I really hated the beginning of this. I was expecting a warm whiskey woody scent with a little fruit or floral and instead I got celery toilet water???? It was almost a scrubber but I started reading through reviews to see if I was crazy and I saw people saying it starts out very “herbal” and that that fades out after awhile to the boozy scent. So I persevered. But the celery toilet water was prominent for like 2 hours, it finally started fading into more of a boozy vanilla woody scent but the gross opening flavour was still lurking in the background. This was just not for me I don’t even think I’ll be trying it a second time. I’m not even sure what notes were turning into that smell for me. Maybe a mix of the chamomile and malt? The rum? I know I don’t like rum to drink. Ugh anyways what a terrible experience this was for me.

There's a certain ingredient that blows out my sense of smell. Not educated enough to know what it is but a fuzzy, clean, slightly woody smell overshadows everything for me. When I got my arm wet and that chemical stopped projecting for a brief moment I could smell the boozy sweet quality people are talking about in reviews. The same ingredient is in Firewater and almost completely overshadows the smoke smell for me and makes them smell almost the same. Based on the favorable reviews I think my nose is atypically very sensitive to this smell, and maybe others who've had experiences like this will want to try a sample before a whole bottle. Also keep in mind if someone says it's too strong it might be something like I have with this. I really love the other Jorum perfumes I've tried though so I'll keep trying more.

Bought a sample of this because I love the smell of whiskey and thought the scent profile was really interesting. However, this smelled like the training vests we used to have at P.E in school that never got washed. I let it stay on throughout the day hoping it would dry down to something more nice but nope. 🙃

A shopkeeper told me her friend described this as a fragrance at the bottom of a hot girl’s bag. I see it now: she leaves the bar and drops her purse. You look into it: nestled there, beside a powdery luxury lipstick, bubble gum, and a bag of tobacco, is this little bottle. That type of cozy you feel when you’re bundled up but still feel the frosty wind licking at your face—that’s the unique warmth I feel with Spiritcask. It’s colder than I thought it would be, given the boozy profile, so I see why some reviewers are disappointed. This is not the heat-in-your-belly fire you get from an aged scotch. It’s more subtle, creamier, and I think more wearable. On some people I would expect this to go sideways into syrupy territory; it’s not a safe blind buy. But if it’s for you, it’ll read sexy but not overpowering.

This is such a unique fragrance. Smelled it in Edinburgh and kept thinking about it when I got back home. The dry down leans sweet tobacco and hay for me. More than anything, this perfume takes me back to a very specific childhood memory. It smells like the outside wrapper of that piece of Wrigleys spearmint gum that had been sloshing around in the bottom of your mom’s purse (I don’t get any spearmint in the actual perfume). The piece of gum you find while trying to entertain yourself during a long church service. It’s wrapper may not fully be intact, and it’s a little hard from not being in its little pack with its gum family.

This stuff is really nice. In the opening, I get a subtle concoction of boozy accords. It isn’t to the point of being too alcoholic smelling but it’s definitely noticeable, sort of like smelling it from the oak barrel. After about 20 minutes, this slightly dirty, herbal smell comes along. My guess is from the chamomile. In the dry down, which is absolutely the best part of this fragrance, it’s a mixture of vanilla, oak and cocoa. There’s a lot of notes in this but those are the ones that I can detect. I don’t smell any jasmine or ylang ylang and definitely no minty/menthol smell like other people have talked about.

It starts with an unfamiliar mix of minty herbal tones blended into earthy and slightly turpenic woody ones. This part smells like an accident, thrown together, which is always a sign that my brain and scent receptors haven’t filled in allthe puzzle pieces yet. What comes later is a smooth autumnal drydown of woods with irish cream and coffee, subtle and vaguely sweet, but cozy and attractive. I will definitely update this as I get to understanding it more. 2.5 out of 5.

Bright, classy and very wearable, Spiritcask is very well blended. I get a really smooth blend of fruit and booze with a nice woody backbone running through the mix. If this had been released as part of Kilian's 'Liquors' collection it would likely get a truck-load of hype. Definitely unisex and can probably be worn in a variety of circumstances, maybe best suited for a summer evening wear. The price for what you get is pretty reasonable also

I never wear this one because it's not big on projection. I wore it today, and the warmer weather really makes it pop. The opening reminds me of sneaking a sniff of an ancient cork(and dry vanilla) from my parent's liquor cabinet as a child from myriad bottles we inherited from my grandparents, there is also a fresh almost mintyness to it, which must be the camomile. Coffee and chocolate on the dry down.

Spiritcask is the one wearable perfume from Jorum for me. It is a minty fresh chocolate that dries down to boozy woods. It’s nice but still not full bottle worthy for me. I have four of their sample sets and each perfume has so much going on they read more like bougie candle scents than wearable perfumes. I was very disappointed in this line that I was so excited to try out.
