Golden Hour

Beautiful clean scent with amber & some fruity sweetness. Right up my alley. I selected this as a 100 point reward on Sephora and I truly do love it, but I sprayed a generous amount on over the Jergens warm amber lotion (smells divine fyi; notes of amber, peach, & soft powder) after a bath last night and felt like it wasn't very detectable within 30 min to an hour. I know sometimes we become nose blind to ourselves, but I can smell my other perfumes much more on myself, so this just seems like weak projection, unfortunately. I really was considering purchasing during the upcoming Sephora sale in April, but now I may not, only because of this. I have not tried the body wash or lotion, so I'm not sure if those smell exactly the same or if they would help longevity & projection. I think that may be the only way I'll consider purchasing this one. Which is unfortunate, since it really is a nice scent if you enjoy clean, musky, sweet skin scents. It does kinda remind me of the beach for some reason; has a solar feel to it. $26 (normal price) for a 3.38 oz bottle isn't terrible, so, I'll debate it with a 20% discount (prob with mini lotion + body wash to test.) But I may pass on it. The other reviews on here are correct; just has no lasting power 😞 P.s. this perfume is like a milky texture that I assume you can rub into your skin, though I'm not sure they recommend doing that? It reminds me of Dior J'adore D'eau in that aspect. Which, I like about this, but at the same time it probably factors into why there's no staying power.

I've had all of Josie's new scents for about 2 weeks now, so I've been able to adequately test them. Golden Hour originally was my favorite scent out of all of her new sprays, but I had to return it due to the fact that it would smell like burnt rubber tires sometimes. First, this consistency is very interesting... It's milky and slightly oily. It's definitely more of a thick, oily mist so be mindful when spraying on clothes and on hair that's already done. I sprayed it freely on my curled hair and all my curls fell lol. However, I totally don't mind. It's refreshing to spray the mist and it gives you some moisture/sheen on your skin, very lovely. Anyway, the scent is captivating. I really do enjoy it. It smells fruity, skin-like, creamy, airy, and sweet. Definitely gives fruity, amber, and vanilla vibes. However, sometimes I would get a whiff of burnt tires sometimes. I don't know why and I was so upset, I just ended up returning it.

Maybe you’re wearing this on your skin like I did when I first got Vanilla Vibes, but let me let you in on a little secret — these mists really ought to be for hair. I start every day with my wet hair freshly showered in a bun. Before I put it in that bun, I load my dry ends with one of two of the Josie Maran Argan Oil sprays I have: Vanilla Vibezzz for my gourmand or fruity fragrances, and Golden Hour for my ambers, florals, or powders. Midday, when I let my hair out of this bun, Golden Hour radiates all around my head like a halo, and for the rest of the day I’m receiving compliments on both my hair and my smell, lol! These have next to no longevity on skin, unfortunately, but if your dry hair needs a lift, these are truly great moisturizing products that are versatile enough to be layered with other things in your scent wardrobe!

I really enjoy this. I smell like a fruity orange or am I dreaming? Someone here (I can’t find her review anymore) recommended putting it in your hair when it’s damp and I haven’t stop since then. It smells even better when ur hair is dry and your laying in bed and you smell in your hair!!! Now I do put the spray together with a un fragrance lotion. I KNOW there is a lotion but I do not have money to be spending $36+ on a lotion that will last me like 2 weeks unfortunately <|3 Edit: the girl that recommended is han_banan

This fragrance mist screams after beach routine for me. To picture where this scent takes me, imagine having a long tanning beach day, coming back to the hotel to have an everything shower before dinner. The vanilla and amber are like a nice sun kiss that perfectly halos around your shoulders and neck. Like the other user has said, it performs best when sprayed on wet hair before styling, and for me, also on moisturized skin.

This is my PERFECT SCENT omg. It wasn’t even on my radar, I sprayed it on myself at Sephora and I couldn’t stop smelling my arm. To me it smells like if dedcool taunt and dedcool xtra milk had a baby, with a gentle sprinkle of orange creamsicle on top. My partner said it smells like sweet warm clean skin and laundry, and I agree. I 10/10 recommend as long as you’re ok with the longevity of a body mist

One of the best summer fragrances imo. When I smell this I instantly think of an evening on the beach. It is bright and citrus-y with just the right amount of vanilla to give it a likable sweetness. This is definitely my favorite from Josie Maran and I bought a bottle as soon as I smelled it.

Need a long lasting eau de parfum for this scent. So clean but also delicious!!

it smells like a clean crisp cold yakult with amber + bit of warm fuzzy laundry and sunshine. it love this for bed and would repurchase if only it didn't evaporate off me completely in less than an hour. this dont project either wtf. need this in perfume form and hear it smells spot on with dedcool taunt but ive never smelt it. can wear this year round. its so comforting and non headache inducing. safe blind buy if you like clean scents/non offensive

I was worried this was going to be a little too fruity with the bergamot, but I actually like it a lot. It dries down to a soft, warm, bright vanilla skin scent that doesn't smell like a dessert vanilla at all.

Go for the body butter, NOT the body spray. I first fell in love with Josie Maran’s Golden Hour scent through the body butter — it was sweet, nostalgic, and reminded me of a refined orange creamsicle. It had that perfect balance of playful and comforting without being overly childish. Because I loved it so much, I decided to try the body spray version, thinking it would be a more affordable way to enjoy the scent by mixing it with my unscented lotion. Unfortunately, the spray was a letdown. While it had a similar scent profile, it came off as faint, plasticky, and overly sweet — missing the richness and charm of the body butter. It also had very little staying power. The scent faded in about 30 minutes, making it feel not worth the purchase. If you’re interested in this fragrance, I highly recommend sticking with the body butter.

The scent is so pretty, soft and sweet. Unfortunately it either doesn’t last or I’m completely anosmic to it after 5 minutes. I use it for bedtime now.

Wow! I test-sprayed this on my inner wrist at around 6 pm at Sephora, and the next morning waking up I could smell this gorgeous warm scent. I skipped my morning shower because I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist! Decided to go back to Sephora to purchase it because it was still with me well into the day. About the scent itself - it has a beautiful lotiony scent quality that I adore! Kind of like what Nivea cream would smell like if it had notes of amber and vanilla that would make it warmer rather than fresh. If you are looking for your-skin-but-better scent, I promise you this will not disappoint!

Ive tried this and the body lotion. Does a ring a bit synthetic for me (maybe its the white musk). Not sure if thats just the way it interacts with my skin chemistry though. I love how this is warm, but not really gourmand. Its a little sweet and has this base note that smells the way hot beaming sun on your skin feels. Weird to explain, but its this skin like scent. I dont get the florals at all.

Josie needs to come BACK to QVC! I have used her skin products for many years and no one believes how old I am! But now can no longer afford... to PAY MORE and GET LESS. I don’t know if she is trying to market to Millennial or Gen Z or what now, but we “OLDER LADIES” put her on the map!! And now it seems... she no longer cares about us.

Smells "nice" but... DOES NOT LAST. I "dearly miss" the OLD Josie!
