The Legacy

I'm glad that Journal finally has their database in Fragrantica and I hope Butterfly will also have their database too as Butterfly is the original line of Journal. I'm a big fan of 'Butterfly Thai Perfume'. I own many of thier fragrances, the quality is good with affordable price. My favourite one is called 'Dessert Smoke Incense' which sadly soon to be discontinued :'( I heard that 'Journal' is the line which Butterfly's owner works with some partnership. Journal aims toward international market and higher level of customers since their fragrances price is about three times more expensive than Butterfly. But they also use the higher grade of ingredients for their perfume as well. I got a sample of Legacy from the brand's opening event in Chiang Mai few years ago. This is the elevated version of Butterfly's signature called 'Agarwood & Benzoin'. Agarwood & Benzoin always get me compliment. It's a beautiful woody-white floral scent. Legacy is more sophisticated, more complex and better sillage. Longevity is the only thing that it cannot outlast the original. Great scent with great quality but due to my budget, I'm gonna stick with Agarwood & Benzoin.

It's easy going and surprisingly fresh oud based frgrance. I am also surprised it has so mush saffron, most often saffron is suffocating for me, but in this case I find it fresh and kinda sparkling.

I've tried all of Journal's current lineup at a boutique, and this is easily the most mass-appealing and designer-y fragrance they offer. 7/10
