Ciao Bello Pistachio

I am OBSESSED with this scent!! It's the best pistachio scent I've ever tried! The biggest issue with me not buying the full bottle yet.... is PERFORMANCE. This scent is gone in 5 minutes!! For the price point of 165 USD for only a 50 mL bottle, IS a scam. I agree with other reviewers. I'm heartbroken this has terrible projection and longevity, because this could've been my new signature scent... Uggh. Jousset Parfums needs to make fragrances that actually last. I had the same issue with the Creme da la Berry one I sampled:/ Update: Dec 20, 2025. I caved in and bought the full size. The performance greatly improved over time!! It now lasts 5-6 hours on me. I also love the entire wear of the scent. It changes over the hours. Initially I get a blast of photorealistic pistachio macaron!! The opening is my favorite. Then it dries down to a soft gooey caramel-like scent, which is also beautiful! Just wish the opening lasted a bit longer. But overall, I love this scent and the performance is much better than I remembered.

The opening on this is EDIBLE, one of the best gourmand openings out there. Having such a good opening has the drawback that the drydown is not on par with it, but still very sweet and interesting. This is not the best blended perfume out there to be fair, dont expect guerlain blend quality from this, but still interesting. Performance wise, idk why is everyone voting for moderate longevity and sillage, on me this is NUCLEAR and stays on clothes for months. Would I repurchase this, most certainly not, but still a ver edible and cool perfume for the gourmand lovers

Smells exactly like a pistachio ice cream (kulfi) I used to have growing up and loved which me and my dad can only find on the odd occasion now which is a shame, keep in mind I’m only 20 so it’s not like it’s been forever or anything lol. The scent to me is really nostalgic and comforting, I just wish the lasting power was better. The scent here I’d say is marginally better than Pistachio Latte by Theodoros Kalontinis, but PL lasts longer on my skin and is practically a third of the price which is why I bought a full size of that and not this😩

As most everyone has said, the performance leaves you really unsatisfied. Especially for the price. However, it's a pretty yummy scent, extremely gourmand and bready. I definitely smell the marzipan and a true, nutty pistachio note. Not very sweet. My husband, who rarely comments on my perfumes said I smelled like a cookie. So even though the performance isn't long lasting, it does project within the first hour or two.

There is a lot more marzipan than pistachio but Ioved it nontheles. The thing the stopped me from buying it on the spot is that it toned down way too fast, especially the lovely top notes, that nutty-almondy zing, fell flat very soon. What's left is a delicious creamy dessert, not bad but made me reconsider purchase until second test maybe.

I like this one, the initial spray provides me with a soft, high quality marzipan, and then within 20-30 minutes it dries down to this creamy vanilla scent. Wish the marzipan would linger on for way longer though!

A dusty sample of Jousset Ciao Bello Pistachio lived rent-free in my drawer for six months—probably wondering if it had done something wrong. It hadn't, in fact I loved it at first sniff. But I was too shy to step out smelling like a Milanese gelateria. Do I have the audacity to walk around reeking of artisanal pistachio gelato? Not I. Not yet. This scent is basically a luxurious pistachio cream in a jar. I adore gourmands, and I fully support the act of marinating in them at home like a decadent little croissant. But in public? The idea of smelling like the inside of an Italian bakery gives me a full-on identity crisis. Am I a human? Or am I a pastry? Can I do this? Anyway, plot twist: the sample wore me down. These days, I bathe in Blanche Bette shamelessly and sometimes Oriana too, like I’m starring in a high-budget lactose fantasy. So now I’m seriously considering buying a backup bottle of Ciao Bello, stashing it like forbidden contraband, and only wearing it in stealth mode when no one I know is around. Because yes—it smells that good. You just have to have the confidence to not care if you smell like a bakery.

This smells crazy, it's like the most neon-green pistachio pudding you've ever tasted for about 10 seconds, then fades off into this nutty-floral-fruity *suggestion* of a pistachio, and then is totally gone in 10 minutes. Absolutely love how it smells, it's a shame you don't get to enjoy it very long. I've started using it as a booster underneath other perfumes with pistachio notes, just to give it that extra fruity note. If you have this or REALLY really want it, I suggest doing the same otherwise you'll have wasted your money. If you aren't dying for it, don't bother.

I actually like this one a lot. The marzipan stands out to me. The only reason I would not buy a full bottle is because it has weak longevity and sillage. Other than that, it’s an okay vanilla pistachio.

Yum. Seriously straight out pistachio gelato with vanilla. The pistachio is a gourmand rich and phot realistic of actual cream and pistachio. Definitely must buy.

I would not say it has some unpleasant notes as described by some reviewers before me. This smells very creamy and lactonic, and even kind of powdery. I'm conflicted. It does smell like a delicious cake, especially in cold weather outdoors. But I'm not a fan of the artificially flavoured milk candy I get from it, the same kind I get in the famous Egyptian Sugar Soiree by Sphinx. Also smells a bit like hot cocoa or hot chocolate. Pistachio is definitely prominent, but it reminds more of marzipan than a toasted pistachio. For reference, I'm someone who absolutely loves gourmands but Bianco Latte is not my cup of tea. Have used it a bunch, but probably won't keep my bottle. Also the the performance is moderate.

Can't sense any pistachios at all. This smells like a Starbucks Vanilla latte or a store brand tiramisu to me. It is very very veeeery sweet. Longevity is monstrous - it remained almost untouched even after long shower. Too sweet even for me, but if you like a sweet coffee scent - get a sample and spray sparingly before buying a whole bottle.

Super sweet almond and pistachio with an annoying butter-like note. Fades incredibly quickly.

Category: Licorice, gourmand, sweet Notes: Sprays on smelling EXACTLY like pistachio ice cream but it quickly develops into more of a nutty, but very realistic marzipan. After a few minutes this begins drifting further from both the pistachio and the marzipan and more into the territory of licorice, anise or extremely burnt sugar. Smells very similar to the licorice section of the candy isles. Vibe: Licorice candy. Turkish delight. Candy isle. Sillage: 6/10. When this first sprays on it has a pretty decent projection, but the longer it stays on the worse it gets, and within the hour this is pretty much a skin scent. I'd consider this an intimate wear. Longevity: ?/10. As this wasn't developing beyond the licorice, this was unfortunately a scrubber for me. I wore it for an hour before giving up hope and washing it off. Wear: Day or night. Can’t really place this in a seasonal category. Maybe winter? Whatever season you associate licorice with you can apply to this one. Overall rating: 2/10. What a rollercoaster the first few minutes of wearing this was... When I first sprayed it on and it smelled exactly like creamy pistachio ice cream I was confident I was going to love it. But then in came the marzipan, and it took over the entire scent, except for the mildest nuttiness lingering in the background. Now I'm not a marzipan hater, but I'm also not a marzipan lover so it obviously wasn’t going to be as good as just straight up pistachio ice cream. But then this threw me another curveball - licorice? The marzipan came and went, and I’m left with what smells exactly like those licorice candy cables with lemon filling. Now licorice I'm just straight up not a fan of. Well over a decade ago I tried for years to fall in love with a bottle of Diesel’s Loverdose that I'd been gifted but couldn't get past the very prominent anise note no matter how hard I tried. Unfortunately for me, the same is true for Jousset Bello Ciao Pistachio. This rollercoasters final stop - Licorice City - ruins the entire fragrance for me. While we started out strong this was ultimately a massive disappointment. On top of not being a fan of the actual notes, it is also sickeningly sweet and oddly powdery in a way that doesn't really sit right with me. Who would wear it?: Cynthia Erivo.

EDITED: So, I'm adding this "EDIT" to my original review because I certainly wouldn't want @Venumb to be upset. I imagine I could've been clearer in my initial review. Yes, Jousett Parfums "Ciao Bello Pistachio" smells exactly like recently shelled, semi-ripe pistachios. Or, one might say the fragrance is reminiscent of very synthetically flavored, bright-green, pistachio infused ice-cream. I like pistachios. Occasionally I eat pistachios. But as "nuts" go, pistachios do not have the best aroma. When I received Kayali "Yum Pistachio Gelato" as a freebie, I tried it. Didn't like it. Thought it might just be the Kayali version of the fragrance that I disliked. Thought I'd try another pistachio option. And with that said: I cannot understand WHY perfumers are jumping on the pistachio band-wagon. Why? So, I like a few Kayali fragrances, although I think my love affair with Kayali may also be a thing of the past. But even Mona (Kayali Fragrances) jumped on this ridiculous pistachio train and Kayali "Yum Pistachio Gelato" is a huge fail, IMHO. Yum Pistachio Gelato along with this stuff... WHO wants to walk around smelling like pistachios & curdled cream? I understand the current gourmand craze. I get vanilla, almond, hazelnut, toffee, caramel, marshmallow, whipped cream, honey, coffee, mixed fruits, lychee, blah, blah, blah. Those notes, I (suppose) I can comprehend. But pistachio? Uhhh...yeah...no. Nothing more to say. Like other pistachio fragrances I've sampled, the scent is overwhelming, shelled pistachios. And the landing is extremely sour. This is a hard pass. Just no...

This is a strange one on my skin. There's a lot of sweet pistachio ice cream initially but after a short while, I can smell an old spice cupboard: pepper, cumin, dusty savoury. I thought something else interfered with it the first time, but the second time can't be a coincident. No one else has mentioned it so I'll put it down to my skin chemistry. I won't recommend it as a blind buy however. Can't comment on longevity either as I had to scrub it off. I like a number of Jousset frags and hoped this would be my ultimate pistachio but not for me.

I almost blind bought this......I'm glad I got to sample it first. This smells so vile on paper, (I almost gagged) I could not phantom this on skin. The waffle batter, macaron and brioche with the marzipan combo is soooo dry along with the artificial powdery pistachio, did not smell pleasant to my nose. Will circle back in few weeks perhaps.

Sounded super yummy so I got a sample but...its a super artificial birthday cake vibe. It smells like a very sweet dessert candle that is headache inducing. I respect it for what it is, but it's not something I would wear. Despite not liking it very much, I can imagine someone out there liking it.

This smells good incredible in the opening! Reminds me of maraschino cherries. Unfortunately, the dry down becomes completely different and, to me, disgusting.

Please DO NOT fall for the positive reviews or the hype influencers are creating for this fragrance. Yes, it is a very realistic gourmand, and yes, it does smell like a very realistic pistachio desert, for the first 5 minutes! That's it! You literally only get those realistic pistachio and gourmand notes for the first few minutes when spraying the fragrance, and it very quickly dries down to the most synthetic vanilla scent that I have ever smelled. There's the faintest hint of marzipan in the dry down, but the dry down overall is extremely off-putting. I tested it multiple times, and I always got the same synthetic dry down. The longevity is also barely there. Please don't fall for the hype, and test this one first before investing in a full bottle. I got a very generous sample from an official Jousset retailer, and I can't even bring myself to finish it. It's a scrubber. In case you were wondering, this smells nothing like Kayali Yum Pistachio. You're much better buying that one instead, even if the pistachio note is not as strong.

Please tell me this is just made as a souvenir or something? This is genuinely disgusting. I’d actually rather smell like Seminalis or inexcusable evil than this shit. This is actually making me gag. If I walk past you and you smell like this, I will not be civil. Rotten vape juice mixed with milk

Absolutely love this on the test strip. It smells like a pint of creamy Cherry Garcia ice cream! It unfortunately changes drastically on skin. It turns into the breath of a smoker who's chewing mint gum. Had to wash it off immediately.

So awful! Opens up with cherry vanilla then dries down to this gross woodsy smell and it’s basically a skin scent. Been so disappointed with Jousset releasing this and the paradis one. Total scrubber.

@tonileefiore Why review a pistachio perfume if you hate the idea of smelling like pistachios so much?? It’s like ordering a food that you typically don’t like and then complaining to the server.. What did you expect? It’s obviously a very well loved note, it’s okay if it isn’t for you specifically but there’s nothing wrong with wearing a pistachio perfume like you insinuated. Most are massive compliment getters so I’d think a lot want to smell like pistachios. Sorry to hear that your skin pulls sour cream for some reason. Opinions are like a-holes, everybody’s got one. All the notes you listed were once a trend, pretty much everything was at one point, and that’s okay. Without trends we’d probably not have a hundredth of all the perfumes that exist today, including all your favorites.

Personally, I don’t mind the slightly spicy dry-down, though I have to admit I prefer the Dubai Pistachio Limited Edition over this original release. The opening is bright and nutty but it doesn’t linger for long. The ice cream accord here is more convincing than Khadlaj’s Caffe Latte, while the spiciness in the dry-down seems to come from a blend of macaron, brioche and marzipan notes. For extra depth and richness, try layering it with DS & Durga Pistachio or Les Nobles Gourmand Mirage. Both add an irresistible boost and more ummmph to it.

It is indeed yummy. A rather delicious and extremely gourmand mix of Baklava Royale, Lost In A Dream's croissanty note and some of the different pistachio gelato type scents. I do feel that the dry down completely loses the pistachio though and becomes a rather flat rum truffle on my skin. I would have to keep respraying this for a fix of the opening notes. I'd like to try the Dubai Chocolate version. mood : sweet cravings

One has to be very and I mean very careful with this perfume and from what I read with Jousset perfumes in general. Realistic does not always mean a good finish or a pleasant dry down. This scent smell in the very 20 seconds of spraying it like ice cream and then turn into an unpleasant nail polish remover scent. I do not know what to do with a bottle that costed me quite a lot. DO NOT BLIND BUY.

Jousset makes great smelling fragrances, but their performance is among the worst in the perfume industry. Ciao Bello is no exception. It’s not even a skin scent and has zero longevity and zero projection. At $165 for a 50 ml bottle, it’s a crime. I honestly don’t feel this company will last now that the fake hype created on social media has died down.

I haven't smelled the fragrance and maybe it is adorable, but the name is sooo stupid! I hate when they try to ape Italian words (or any other language) without knowing it... This name is just three random Italian words which do not mean anything, this is the way a three years old child would talk... It sounds so cringey....

This is a joke. It only last like an hour on skin with minimal projection, you literally have to put your nose against your skin to be able to smell it. The worst part is that the opening only last like 10 seconds, and that’s the only good part.

I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE it. Smells like Pistachio Ice cream with a buttery note that I ADORE. Can't get enough of this. This to me is what YUM by Kayali wished it was and tragically isn't. This literally smells like pistachio ice cream.

I love love looooooove this. Perfect to layer. It's warm. Creamy and cosy to me. I'm somehow able to also wear this in the summer as well as cold nights. Ugh gorgeous. This is what we all hoped Yum by Kayali would be lol

What a fail. Opens up smelling like a pistachio Ice cream, but that disappears VERY quickly. Then you are left with a faint vanilla, sugar and some weak wood. This fragrance is a scam. 1/5
