Delicious Black Powder

Absolutely a love for me. I’m not normally a cacao fan. Ususally they are too “cakey chocolate”. Heavy gourmands turn me off. This one, however, moves gracefully, fleet, nimbly through it’s layers....Jousset’s description of this fragrance is apt. At first bite, the cacao is intense, but not overly sweet. You are aware that this is a dessert, but more of the layered cake variety, whereby the main (not only) hit of chocolate lies on top. The vanilla and immortelle smooth in about 20 minutes later, and they are delightful. This is my jam. I’m an absolute FIEND for a good Vanilla. Not a sweet Vanilla. Real Vanilla. Sticky Vanilla pod, still alive and on the orchid. And while not listed as the main player, it becomes, for me, the real star. I think it’s because of all the other notes that play around it. I know saffron is listed, but I’m not picking it up. I think that this is intentional and masterful. 20 more minutes and what remains is a gorgeous, sexy, woody soft suede vanilla with a hint of a boozy rum undertone, weaving in and out of that very, very nice cacao pod - and these are expensive cacao pods - Jousset spared no expense for this juice and it shows! - to end on something wholly unexpected. I’m gettin’ me some of this powder! Also- one last thought. I keep thinking that this reminds me of Eau de Missions but with an added cacao element. And that, for me, is very much Christmas in July. EDM is my Big Lurv. I didn’t even mean to sample this and if given a choice, wouldn’t have picked it (as mentioned previously, me and chocolate usually argue). Never went so fast from "despise" to "love" within an hour. Initial spray was rancid - it smelled like an old glam lady in fur at the train station concentrated - that dusty chocking chemical perfume, but within 5 minutes it settled on my skin and started smelling like honey with black sugar. On dry down it completely turned into honey-covered blag sugar tapioca pearls. Exactly that. I am not sure why people talk about chocolate, can't get any of that here. But if you like black sugar - grab this one! I layer it with Fugazzi's Vanilla Haze and can't stop selling my wrists at all times. Lonegivity and silage are both real good - it holds whole day, longer on clothes. I will be buying a bottle after my sample is done.

Delicious Black Powder is everything TF's Black Orchid should be. Where Black Orchid's truffle note actually makes me want to vomit, Delicious Black Powder creates a nice earthiness from saffron, delivering a mysterious, sexy dark chocolate scent. It wasn't love at first sniff but it's very moreish. Now I can't stop sniffing it. It's smoky to me, but definitely unisex. Good performance.

Sampling Jousset Parfums Delicious Black Powder, a mostly-gourmand, semi-floral blend of cocoa, immortelle, saffron, tonka, suede, and vanilla, it’s fittingly dark, provocative, unisex, sweet, and somewhat multifaceted in that there are woody and leathery edges to it. I quite like it, though I generally find the subgenre of sweet floral fragrances a little challenging on my skin, personally, though I find this fragrance very easily likable and on par with the house other’s releases, which have mainly been gourmand-adjacent. Delicious Black Powder is sold in the US by Luckyscent and Sealed Essence, priced at $175/180 for 50ml in extrait concentration, and it performs very well. 7 out of 10

I'm trying to find my favorite non-overwhelming chocolate perfume. This one is very boozy on me, like a real rum truffle in the opening. No milk or creaminess. Not cloying, moderate volume - which means it doesn't give you a headache, like many sweet gourmands. I can smell dry rough suede, immortelle and a fragrant cigar from a box.The further you go, the more tobacco there is. The further you go, the more tobacco. Throughout it remains two-faced - sometimes it turns chocolate, sometimes tobacco-immortelle-suede.

One of the most realistic dark chocolate smells I have put my nose on, spicy and a little creamy. Very dark and sexy, whoever wears this knows what they want, and they know how to get it.

This reminds me of intense cafe for some reason. I got 6 hours of longevity. It was expecting a heavy gourmand perfume but it’s surprisingly light!

Very airy cocoa note on a warm vanilla base. It's delicious black powder indeed, but I am taking issue with how "perfumy" this offering from Jousset smells, as if you're walking by a perfume counter (where the air smells like allll the perfumes combined) and someone is also baking 20 chocolate cakes nearby. The "perfuminess" does dissipate as this dries down, so I can get past that opening after about 10 minutes and enjoy the lovely wafts of cocoa as the day goes on. Definitely long-lasting, very smooth, and great as a comfort fragrance in fall or winter. Not my personal choice for a chocolate fragrance, but I recommend a try.

Smells just like a piece of dark chocolate with a raspberry filling. Some cinnamon in there. Certainly not overly sweet at all. Cocoa quickly dissipates and it becomes a spicy masculine scent.

A huge hit of cocoa knocks you in the face on first spray. About 10 to 15 minutes after it settles into a chocolate/tonka punch before settling into a spicy hot chocolate vanilla scent. finishing with the sweetest vanilla that lasts and lasts. Wish I was more into gourmands and wanted to smell like a sweet milk chocolate treat...but dont.

Absolutely not! I’m shocked at all the positive reviews on this one. It’s awful... immediately had to SCRUB this off ! I cannot even phantom a person liking this 🤢

I bought a full bottle of the original Accident À La Vanille and it came with a sample of this "Delicious Black Powder" variation. The first time I smelled, it I was immediately reminded of Carolina Herrera's Good Girl, which is one of my all time favorite perfumes. Lo and behold, when I went to check the fragrance notes they shared quite a few similarities. This smells absolutely delicious and sexy. If I didn't already own so many bottles of Good Girl, I would purchase the full bottle of Delicious Black Powder as well.

It's polarizing. I loved it. Dusty, dark, mysterious, dense yet feathery...rich but not gourmand fatty heaviness. My husband said it smelled like "ass"....sample before buying a Full Bottle.

Spiced hot cocoa and rum with a hint of velvet on the drydown. It's heavy, decadent, sumptous and has great sillage and longevity. Don't overspray this.

This one is straight up cigar on me. I don't get chocolate or raspberry. It also kinda smells like a candle.
