Gourmand Bakhoor Crème de la Crème

Smells like a candy bar! Yummy gourmand deliciousness. The peanut note sort of had me worried at first but it is done really well! It is more of a sweet creamy peanut butter filling quickly becomes one with a delicious milky chocolate and smells like a literal candy bar! I agree w/ below - its not a tub of peanut butter, its more refined, delicious. There is a flaky cookie/biscuit here too. But the dry down is creamy sweet almost caramel vanilla goodness. I ordered a backup!

Sampling Jousset Parfums – Gourmand Bakhoor (Special Edition, also called Crème de la Crème), and like the original Gourmand Bakhoor, the SE is a delightfully dense and rich (and aptly-named) mix of caramel, vanilla, and bready/doughy accords, with some incense, and in this version, peanut butter and a more general nuttiness. It’s a bit denser but also better rounded, with the peanut butter provided some bass to the treble, the qualities of the original that were a little too over-the-top saccharine. It is a gourmand lover’s gourmand, and quite indulgent, while again feeling a little bit more balanced and well-conceived than the original. The Special Edition of Gourmand Bakhoor is only sold domestically via Sealed Essence (out of Massachusetts), from what I can tell, and is priced at a higher $120 for 50ml (vs. the original’s $95 for 50ml), still in extrait concentration. For me, while an improvement on the original and quite nice, it’s nevertheless a “like” not a “love” but surely worth trying, especially for gourmand fans. 7 out of 10

If you like the smell of baby formula, that weird yeasty water that floats on top of yogurt when it's been sitting in the fridge for a while, Planters Peanuts...you will like GB Special Edition. I wanted to, I really, really did. I like sweet scents, in fact, I love them and they're the only ones I wear now after experimenting for years with different notes and fragrance families. I've tried a lot of perfumes in my time and know what works and what doesn't for my skin. I can imagine that maybe, there's someone out there who can pull off the smell of Smucker's peanut butter sandwiches and stale primary school cafeterias, but I am not one of those people. I was salivating when I read the notes. I was just anticipating this gorgeous super sweet, 11/10 beauty and instead I get a really badly formulated, unrefined, clunky fragrance. All three of the perfumes from Jousset I've sampled need a ton of work, and editing, pruning, and better ingredients (for the price). Beautiful packagine, but unfortunately, this is one of those ultra niche lines that's reaching but not necessarily succeeding. You can do better.

Weak! I had to use half the sample just to smell it and then it is just a hilariously expensive dupe of Choco Musk by Al-Rehab! Neither smells edible to me, just coco butter and sweet white musk. Well, I love this. It smells like a fabulous dessert. I have been eating vanilla ice cream with peanuts and a delicious chocolate sauce. It’s keto too, but fabulous. Very comforting scent. Strong enough so you don’t need to overspray.

I definitely get the butter, and cream, a little waffle cone too. Is anyone else comparing this to buontalenti?
