Imperial Harem

This fragrance is not fucking around. The high price, $230 for 50ml, is obviously a result of expensive ingredients because this is quality you can smell. Performance is excellent. Often one finds that a simple composition of quality ingredients is better than a fragrance with a huge amount of notes. That is the case here. It's a tremendously strong amber rose combo, balanced with vanilla for sweetness and peru balsam for a woody note. It needs nothing more. It's something you might expect to smell on a temple prostitute in antiquity, and is aptly named. I can smell all four of the notes and nothing more, but they're in perfect proportion to each other-- it's quite brilliant really, and gives the impression of smelling multiple notes in concert with each other, where each one can still be picked out individually. There is jammy rose and the woodiness of peru balsam giving a slight pencil shaving note as others have mentioned, but neither are taking over. I'm not sure what kind of person would wear this apart from someone tremendously confident. It's not a modern composition, nor a particularly old fashioned one. It was not blended to satisfy a contemporary trend in fine fragrance, and will set its wearer apart from the crowd.

I’m picking up gingerbread cookies. Imperial Harem is a very sweet, gourmand rose, and too jammy for me to wear comfortably. Good projection and performance if this is up your olfactory alley.

Starts off kind of underwhelming and watery sweet. Like I wonder if I'm anosmic to something in the top notes. It warms into really pleasant light floral amber with just a hint of pencil shavings (in a good way).

This is exactly what I was hoping for. I love a good rose and amber is my favorite note. Well update after full wear
