Le Dernier Sultan

Not the fragrance profile I would go for normally but I took a chance and ordered it along with 2 Rogue Perfumery fragrances. It took me a few days to adjust my nose to get to appreciate it and is definitely sweeter than what I anticipated. To me the citrus notes are quite prominent at the top and interestingly blended in with the sweeter notes. The coffee is not dominant at all, as stated by others, and is overshadowed by the rest. It is definitely well made and of high quality. I have to say I find it strangely addictive and the perfect comforting fragrance to spray at bedtime after a long and hard day. I love waking up during the night and being aware of the sweetish aroma on my arms. I can still smell it in the morning. Performance is very good and the 30 ml bottle should last me a long time. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

Vanilla, rose, and warm spices are the main notes with the sandalwood providing support. I would call this a semi-gourmand since there isn't enough sweetness here to be fully edible (quite dry in fact). I occasionally catch a whiff of coffee, but to echo the reviewer below, this is not a coffee-forward fragrance at all. I don't get much citrus in the top either, but perhaps I'm reading those citrus notes as a lemony rose? Can be enjoyed by anyone.
