Le Gourmand

The nostalgic memory of a cozy patisserie. Decadent chocolate, seductively creamy milk, the perfect pinch of salt, baking croissants, éclairs, puffs of whipped cream and droolworthy cookie dough. Originally fell on this fragrance as I was hopelessly searching for something with a cookie dough note- something I always seek but rarely find well executed or noticeable. The cookie dough in this is absolutely perfect. The chocolate feels good, warm, toasted even- this adds the perfect touch of masculine flair without ruining how sweet and gentle the scent is (something i've been looking for forever). Don't fret though- this is completely unisex. The comforting scent of pastries fresh out the oven perfectly pairs with the uplifting and light whipped cream. The lactonic notes are lovely and round out everything. As another user stated, this truly feels like wearing a cozy blanket. An all time favorite and permanent add to the collection without a doubt. Not overwhelming, although it is the epitome of pastry sweet. What a masterpiece.

The opening is absolutely devine! It’s like you are smelling a toasted brioche or a toasted buttery croissant with lots of Nutella inside and roasted chopped hazelnuts thrown in there too. It honestly can’t get more realistic than that. When I tell you, this doesn’t even smell like a perfume no, this will have you smelling like a bakery, and people will be like what is this delicious thing you are baking?? Who made nutella croissants?? 🍫🌰🥐🍞 So, unfortunately for me once the opening goes away, it starts smelling weird on my skin. I’m not sure if it’s only me and my skin chemistry is probably not working for this one. But, oh that opening is amazing!! Overall, if you wanna smell like a realistic buttery croissant with nutella inside, and if this works with your skin chemistry then you will love this one. But I must say, I am a crazy gourmand girl and this might be a bit too much for me personally, but still a beautiful scent. Just test it out to make sure you don’t get a weird dry down like I did

Oooh wow. Actually, the notes are 99% reflecting what the fragrance actually smells like. I sprayed on the air and for me it smelled like chocolate spread and my sister said that it smells like nutella On the arm, it smells like a golden toast with salty butter and hazelnut spread on top. Sadly I certainly do not get any cookie dough from it. (knowing the butter and hazelnut chocolate spread are already pretty much of an overpowering combination...) I also get a chocolate bar that has been melted, it has a very light smokey to it. It’s almost perfect but honestly the scent of the salty butter is a little bit disturbing to me, I still love to wear it because it’s well done and the notes are harmoniously gourmand, it’s also what gives that creamy note to the fragrance so I tolerate it. Genuinely this is the most unique gourmand perfume I own in my collection and I would be delighted to discover more about Jousset’s world and its new releases!

Man this is wild. One of my favorite things to do it get hot soft cookie dough in a bowl and dump Nutella all over it and mix it up and eat it with a spoon. This smells exactly the same as that. Im sniffing it right now and idk im not REALLY getting a salty butter toast but I am getting hot buttery chocolate chip cookie dough for sure. This smells exactly the way I just described it. It's amazing, it really is something wild. if you dont like ultra rich dense heavy super sweet and incredibly photorealistic gourmands then this one isn't for you, because it literally smells like food. my brother smelled it and asked "thats a cologne?" so yeah. But if you wanna literally smell like the dessert your date is gunna be dying to taste after dinner, this is the one for you. 9.8/10 -0.1 for no 100mL bottle -0.1 because oajan is my only 10/10

This scent is a soft blanket I could wear everywhere I like without getting stared at. As someone who loves gourmands as a concept but rarely in execution, this is what I was looking for all along. The sweetness does not cloy, it envelops gently. It coaxes rather than pressurises—comforts, rather than suffocates. This is a photorealistic experience, blending a touch of savoury to ground and lighten the deep sweetness. In the warmer months, this transports back to memories of walking into the warm air of a pasticceria in Sicily. Counters are lined with cannolis waiting to be chosen, studded with chocolate chips and bejewelled with chopped hazelnuts. In the colder months, it places in your hand churros, dripping with molten chocolate freshly served at a twinkling winter fair. Or a hot chocolate, topped with pillowy marshmallows.

This is one of the absolute best gorgmand perfumes out there. And the best chocolate type of gourmand I have ever come across (you can check my collection). This is so delicious, sweet, realistic chocolate, hazelnut, cocoa powder, cocoa drink, Nutella, etc scent!! There is some cookie dough /toast I guess but they are in the background, probably just giving a fuller body to this beautiful gourmand. It last absolutely well on skin, not just on clothes! Very late in the dry down it is more like milky cocoa drink, sweet and good, a tiny bit salty, which blends peefectly. Makes you want to overspray, so good! A pure gourmand with no unnecessary notes, a must have for any gourmand lover who like chocolate based scents. It may make you want to get rid of most other gourmand chocolate scents you own though! ❤️😁

Omg I want to say that I have had this sample for 2 months now, and although I liked it, it wasn’t a complete love due to something synethic. But now I picked it up again, and OMG wow!!! It’s amazing. It’s mouthwateringly delicious. I sprayed it and I got told “you smell like a chocolate custard eclair” and another comment that someone said to me was “you smell so delicious I want to take a bite of you” 😂😂 lolll I must buy a full bottle I am obsessed with it. I think after it sat for 2 months it got even more delicious and the synthetic smell is gone. It just smells like cookie dough drizzled with chocolate ganache and nutella and just delicious dessert like chocolatey ingredients

gourmand is right! pure milk chocolate goodness, i can smell every single note listed in here. it is definitely the most realistic gourmand scent i've ever smelled so my only complaint is that it isn't the most versatile (meaning it won't smell like you're wearing perfume, you will smell like a straight-up baked good) but if that's your thing this is 100% for you. it is also for me most of the time (unless i'm going to like a funeral or something lol. imagine someone died and you're there smelling like a friggin choccy chip cookie).

This is pretty much just Kyse - Oui Plus, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, there it is. This smells to me like a Keebler fudge stripe cookie. Exactly like one. You've got the buttery shortbread cookie and the drizzly chocolate coating. It's hyper realistic. Like I've just stuck my nose in the cookie package and taken a whiff. There is a nutty element here as well, so think fudge stripe dipped in Nutella and you've got this perfume. If you wanna smell like a whole ass dessert, Le Gourmand is your girl. 8/10

Glad to discover Jousset Parfums, which specializes in gourmands. To my nose the eau de parfum Le Gourmand (launched 2023) is a masterpiece. Reviewer perfume_angel describes it best: "a chocolate custard eclair." As a child I'd ask for an éclair on every visit to the bakery. This French-pastry fragrance comprises buttered toast, cookie dough, and hazelnut cocoa—not overly sweet but delicate and enticing, and a childhood memory brought to life!✿ Scent family: Gourmand Longevity on me: long-lasting

This is a very two note fragrance on me, but those two notes are good - cocoa powder and hazelnuts. Smells like the Hershey's cocoa powder in my cabinet, mixed with some hazelnuts. Very Ferrero Rocher. It lasts a long time. Decent projection. Not the most expensive out there. It's honestly great, so long as you want to smell of cocoa and hazelnuts. Don't count on those top notes - I didn't get any bread or butter at all.

just wow. initial spray smells like a freshly baked nutella cookie with sea salt on top. then it dries down to just pure nutella, much like everyone else is saying. but it's super realistic, creamy, not too sickening at all. it really smells extremely edible. makes me want to eat my skin!

It smells like one of those Ferrero Rocher gold chocolates. Creamy milk chocolate, not overly sweet, mixed with hazelnut. 100% gourmand. After a while it smells more like hot chocolate, heavier on the cocoa powder. Further dried down you can detect the buttery chocolate chip cookies.

Oh wow. I ordered a bottle blind after wanting it for so long... and I wasn't disappointed! This stuff is amazing!! I want to eat my own arms because they smell like the most delicious soft sweet buns. I can't wait to wear it in front of my girlfriend to see what she thinks!

Purchased a sample and it really does smell like chocolate spread and hazelnuts... like nutella or ferrero rocher chocolates. This is really good, actually chocolate hazelnut heaven. I don't really smell toast or butter, but if it is there it blends well. This is delicious.

I get fudgy brownie from this. And layered with TF Lost Cherry, I get chocolate-covered cherries. This is my man's absolute favorite perfume of the many that I own! It's decadent, and seriously sexy. if you don't like seriously sweet, stay away from this one!

If Nutella ever releases a fragrance the way Lidl is doing right now, I think you know who to call. This one is incredibly good and it projects like a beast. A piece of art by itself, a masterpiece when layered with anything fruity.

I love this the first time I smell it!!! I feel like I want to lick myself. Have been looking for a chocolate perfume for soooo long and finally found this. The sweetness is just the right amount and not intoxicating.

When first sprayed it smells like hazelnut spread but once tried down, it smells like milk chocolate. Truly a photorealistic gourmand, So addictive. However the projection on this sucks, the longevity is pretty good.

I keep lifting my wrist to smell it. Sometimes it reminds me of a bag of chocolate-covered raisins, other times a Nutella-filled cornetto. It’s a cozy, delicious, warm gourmand scent and truly addictive!

Love this! Such a nice super nutty forward chocolate crunch. It reminds me a lot of Kyse cacao noisette, if u like that scent they’re very similar. It’s a pure gourmand scent.

May-15: I got a 0.7mL dabber of this on LuckyScent, so spraying an actual bottle might produce different results. This is my first sniff, so I might come back and edit my response for its performance/longevity, or if I end up changing my opinion about the perfume. I won't say anything new: it's hazelnut chocolate and cocoa powder. But if you can search for @PerfumedParrot's review below, it's very accurate to my experience, minus the aquatic nuance comparison. Linearly chocolate, not sweet or smooth or creamy. It opens with a VERY artificial rendering of hazelnut (think really really stale Nutella), but these synthetics go away the longer it wears (at least on my skin). It develops into a proper hazelnut chocolate fragrance, ... and that's it. The chocolate Le Gourmand is going for is very dry through and throughout, straight dry cocoa powder. I don't get butter, sometimes I get dry biscuit, and while I'm sure these notes are helping to shape the perfume out in the background, you shouldn't expect to smell anything other than hazelnut chocolate. It's the heart of a Ferrero Rocher during its middle to end stages. 100% edible-gourmand, nothing "perfumey" about it, just straight food. But I don't dislike this fragrance at all. It accomplishes what it sets out to do and does so in a decent way (i.e., without smelling like a cheap candle or a $25 body spray, imo). Lasts decently long and makes you smell delicious. Just because it's a linear scent doesn't mean it won't smell more "beautiful" or pleasant to a passing a nose: if you spray it on, you will get compliments or people asking if you just walked out a bakery, or just finished baking, or finished tearing up a pack of Ferrero Rochers, etc—and if that's an experience you want to procure, you're in the right place. It's also a fun experience to spray this on your wrist and get whiffs of it. But it didn't wow me, and it probably won't wow you unless you're falling in love with what's described in this review. I'd recommend you sample this first, particularly if you've never dealt with photorealistic perfumes before or are expecting something buttery and creamy. Otherwise you might not think this is wearable. Sillage: Definitely not intimate, but hard to say. TBD. Longevity: Decent? 3-4 hours at least, I think. Might pay more attention on a third application. TBD. Seasonal: I'm bad at judging when a fragrance 'should' be worn, but this would undoubtedly make more sense to wear closer to the holidays in the fall/winter. I can't imagine it being "cloying" tbh, it's just not that sweet, but idk how well these dry chocolate notes would do in higher temps for spring/summer. EDIT May-18: I enjoy this fragrance more when I apply a sweeter/sweetner perfume next to it. In my case, Delizia di Marshmallow, but I can tolerate sickeningly sweet fragrances, so YMMV.

It is one of the most mouth watering fragrances I’ve ever smelled. The composition brings to mind a hot slice of toast with a thick layer of Nutella, like breakfast, only served in an elegant bottle. You can clearly pick up hazelnuts, toasted bread, chocolate, and a creamy, buttery note that wraps around you like a soft blanket on a chilly morning. The opening is absolutely divine, almost sticky with sweetness, like the air in a bakery just after fresh pastries have been taken out of the oven. After a few minutes, a touch of bitter cocoa appears, acting like a pinch of salt in a dessert, it enhances the flavour and balances everything beautifully. The scent is expertly blended, deliciously edible, yet not overwhelming, more like a delicate dessert than a heavy cake. It’s a composition that lovers of gourmand fragrances will adore, it smells a bit like late night snacking by an open window, when the world slows down and everything feels more intense. Longevity is around five hours, with rather moderate projection. It stays close to the skin, like a sweet little secret.

The final boss of gourmands-- like sticking your head into a bag of semi sweet chocolate chips. Chips ahoy cookies if they used darker chocolate. My small child said "Mmm cookies!" And my husband noted: Waffle cone, hazelnut and Kahlua. I have had a strange and unfortunate journey with this one though. At first I was scouring reviews to see if anyone else was stating it disappeared after 30 minutes. Since no one else experienced this, I realized my husband and I both went noseblind. I tested it a couple more times and realized I was still getting wafts throughout the day and it wasn't the perfume's fault. Upon subsequent wears, I would have my husband smell my wrist and both times he stated he smelled chocolate plus something sour. I tried to understand what he meant by sour and he stated "bacterial growth". I'm not picking up on that so I don't think it's changing on my skin, but rather his perception of the chocolate.

This is straight up Ferrero Rocher chocolates or Nutella spread in a perfume. It’s extremely indulgent and delicious! It’s the most realistic chocolate hazelnut perfume I have ever experienced. There’s no artificial or perfumey chocolate smell here, unlike Dulce Fundamentum which is also a bit easier to wear due to it being less realistic. I just don’t know if I want to smell like Nutella. I’m undecided. I’ll need to test this properly for a few days, but I do love it! I’m looking for a chocolate scent i can layer and I’m not sure this would work with others. Although if you’re looking for a realistic chocolate perfume, this is it!

For all you fellow children of the 80's and 90's, do you remember those scratch-and-sniff stickers? Le Gourmand smells just like the chocolate scented stickers! Smelling Le Gourmand instantly took me back to elementary school days and brought a smile to my face. I also find it similar to Chocolate Greedy, but an amped up version and waaay more intense and nutty, as if you were to add a HEAPING spoonful of Nutella to Chocolate Greedy. Although the scent is nostalgic for me, I don't think it's wearable. It's too literal and very intense.

I am not saying anything new as the previous comments to relate to the correct image of the perfume. Is a very photorealistic Nutella smell. I found decent quality price packaging. A little bit inaproiate for day warm season but I am sure during autumn winter nights this perfume will have its place of honour. Unisex Nutella very photorealistic smell even smell a little bit smoked burnt oudy arabic but with delicious Nutella smell. Like you have your nose on top of a fresh opened jar. Really nice work.

Okay this is real good, if you like a gourmand it doesn’t get more gourmand than this! I don’t really like the opening, it’s a real strong whiff of super dark, nutty chocolate and alcohol, I also get a rubbery vibe... but once it’s dried down and settled a while it’s the most beautiful creamy nutty chocolate hazelnut scent... I think the best compliment I’ve gotten is “oh my god what is that? You smell like a chocolate croissant from a bakery in Paris” which I think describes it perfectly!

Alright guys, this is just a fact - it does not get more gourmand and edible than this. Even myself being huge gourmand fan - it did take me back a bit because it`s food, delicious food:). Try only on cold winter days in my opinion and don`t be surprised if people asked if you were cooking cookies at home. Cute - sure! Date night or office - hell no.

I loved the opening. It’s obnoxiously gourmand. I literally sprayed it and went woah that’s crazy I love this. The dry down was too nutty for me and lost the milky chocolatey part. It’s juvenile, immature, and too sweet...which is perfect!!! 8/10 I just wish the dry down was as sweet as the opening

This is what I wanted Chocolate Greedy to smell like... Smells like powder chocolate and this is going to sound weird but barbie. The barbie smell which feels it maybe the cookie dough of it. It rounds it out. Soo good. My only wish is that powder chocolate would stay throughout.

Wow! This is very much Nutella in a bottle. Powerful hazelnut chocolate, and I can get the cookie dough note in hanging out the background and becoming more prominent over time. Incredibly photorealistic, does not smell artificial at all on me.

Heavy,rich not for the faint hearted. I am not sure I like it on its own,but I like it layered with another scent. It is 100% chocolate spread on bread :-) perhaps too gourmand for me,still happy that I have a bottle.

Begins as a salty hazelnut chocolate. Dark chocolate develops after a few moments, giving this a nice touch of depth. In the dry down I'm left with a salty peanut and chocolate scent. This is straight up edible.

Just imagine a tub of Nutella spread on a warm piece of toast with a sprinkle of salt. That’s what this smells like. Very realistic good projection and longevity is ok. I go nose blind to this very fast.

It’s salty, nutty dough. A sweet bread roll with Nutella or maybe sweetened peanut butter. The name is very fitting, this is purely gourmand and smells like a bakery.
