Fresh Musk

I still keep an almost full bottle of Jovan Fresh Musk from 1996/97 and still smell amazing (better in summer than in winter), even though I opened it regularly and it doesn't have spray/atomiser so my fingers were always in direct contact with the perfume, and not always recently washed hands... To me this smells like the classic White Musk body lotion from The Body Shop, with peach, coumarin, amber, sweet mandarine, mint and a little bit of jasmine and patchouli. Not so fresh, but cozy and soapy. A nostalgic perfume for me as I remember smelling it the Christmas day it was gifted to me, and thinking it was the most amazing smell I ever smelled, feeling so grown up and making me dream of goodness, kindness and perfection. Although I never really wore this perfume as it was difficult to apply (with no spray) for a girl, I used to smell it regularly from the bottle but above all, the main memory that brings me is this "new" vision of the world with this perfume as a filter, when I first experienced it, the Christmas excitement and this fragrance in the air. By the way, I still think it's one of the most perfect, balanced, cozy and beautiful fragrance I ever smelled and it is now my comfort scent, specially when I want to connect with my inner girl that has not yet been disappointed and has only garnered impeccable feedback having a perfect self-image, that place where all the possibilities were still possible... and when I want to come back to my genuine self that discovers the world intuitively, on its own, not through the lives and wrong paradigms of others, and who sees the good of the world with optimistic eyes.

Glad to see it here, finally. I discovered it in the 90s, just before they discontinued it and I've been looking for it or for a perfume similar to it since. I was lucky I found a few bottles for sale on eBay and grabbed them straight away, I'll try to use them occasionally, so they don't run out quickly. I'm so obsessed with that perfume I tried to recreate it several times, I picked up on the bergamot, the musk and some rose scent, but I couldn't get the correct ratio. I'll try again, now that the exact notes are listed here. Coty usually make their perfumes similar to popular brand perfumes, if anyone knows what perfume Jovan Fresh Musk was made after, please do tell.

Maybe it's not a complicated fragrance but it was love at first sniff. My signature fragrance (although not necessarily during winter since this is musky so very close to your skin). Feminine, but not girly - straight from the 1990s. I don't know what it is today with all fragrances that they have to be powdery?! Although this is musky, it is fresh, nice, and leaves a beautiful trail when sprayed. They don't make scents like this anymore. I was very into green and blue (fresh, light) fragrances back in the 1990s, but because I am older now I sometimes pick something stronger, with attitude. But still love my discontinued frags.

You can't imagine how long I've been waiting for this one to appear here in the Fragrantica database. This was my first real signature scent around the age of 20 - that is, 18 years ago. I was so frustrated when they discontinued it! I had no clue about the notes, so I'm really glad they are listed here. However, what I recollect from the scent, it was partly a fresh fruity tea fragrance, partly something earthy, wet and mossy, just like the soil and the vegetation after the rain.

OMG, my first perfume ever! I got it from my parents as a gift when I was 17 or so... I remember, how much I loved this scent but sadly cannot really recall how it actually smelled. The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that this must be much sweeter than what I do like now. But still, I'd be so happy to have one more sniff of it, from my teenage years...

Wow wow wow forgot about this one! Had this when I was 14/15 years old and used it daily. I'm almost 39 🫠 now. Wish I could smell it again to jump back in time. Seeing this bottle almost made me cry lol

I remember this standing on the shelf of my favorite drugstore that was around most of my life until the owner retired and now there's some Asian Restaurant instead:-/ Anyway, the bottle always intrigued me and I remember smelling it just once and not really falling in love with it - the scent was all too much for me for those times - at that time I was rather after stuff like Chanson d'Eau and Puzzle by Coty. What I do recall though, was some "jungle" scent - really opulent, warm, damp and mysterious. I'd love to be able to smell it once more.

Omg!!!!! Finally they ad this amazing perfume. Remaind me of my vacation to andalucia spain with my housband (then friend) in 1996 I was smelling this on a seller in the market in torremolinos and fall in love. Of course i was asking her what was it , she told me jovan and i bought it . It was so cheap about 25 $. Good memories so sad it discontinued
