Wild Honeysuckle

This is a discontinued classic, IF Jovan brought it back it would probably outsell Island Gardenia! It was released in the 70s and 80s. Wonderful crisp, straight honeysuckle floral smell ( with nothing mixed in ) I enjoy the soapy , floral, out of the shower smell. My mother had this , I vividly remember she kept the box because of the flowers on the box. Lovely botanical drawing artwork. ..Too bad its not available....

Absolutely my new favorite scent. I'm almost willing to shell out the $70 for a full bottle...almost. Anyone have any size bottle of this to trade...?

My mother would not allow me to get this one when I was in my early teens. She said it smelled "cheap", a comment that did not reflect the price. ( My mother only appreciated Jovan Musk for years.... ) Later, a friend received this for her birthday and allowed me to try some. I don't recall the exact smell, but it seemed so pleasant. I loved florals to distraction, and my tastes at that age were very consistent. I did not wish to smell of Jovan musk, and I DID want to smell of fresh flowers. ;) Fast forward a few years - I fell in love with a bottle of Avon Honeysuckle luckily snatched up at a garage sale. I still can't bring myself to use the last few drops ~ magic. Avon's seems to me a more memorable fragrance, and also rich in orange blossoms. That said, Jovan Honeysuckle was a worthwhile - if simple - beauty who never had grandiose pretensions. I would love to smell her once again... Update - It was a joy to come across this beauty at last and enjoy her, despite the havoc age had wrought to her balance. I suggest caution in buying these. My bottle had gone off, and I suspect this particular formulation doesn't age well. There were marvelous hints of the charmer she used to be, even though the overall effect was rather bizarre and unwearable. I still keep my eyes open for a living, breathing honeysuckle queen, and one day I will find her!

Honeysuckle is getting ready to bloom in my yard, so I had to try this discontinued scent! I bought an unused bottle that had not been opened. I was hoping for at least something that would remind me of the flower. Jovan's Island Gardenia is good, and the Night Blooming Jasmine faintly recalls the scent of the flower in tiny doses. Unfortunately this doesn't smell like honeysuckle at all to me, but rather a vague, pleasant generic floral. Like all the Jovan's, it has amazing sillage and longevity. Half a spray will scent a room!

D I S C O N T I N U E D . Damn. After trying Jovan's Island Gardenia I was looking forward to trying this. Honeysuckle frags tend to be a little too "heady" for me and Jovan "tamed" the heady Gardenia for their IG. I was hoping to try this as they might have "tamed" the honeysuckle herein.....but alas. Now whore-vultures on eBay are trying to ask $79.99 for this. Too bad.
